Abstract

Petapahan river, 6 Km long is one of river that is an administrative district in the region ofGunung Toar. This river has long been used for many activities by people who live along theriver. The study was conducted at the Petapahan River in November 2011. The aimof thisresearch is to determine the quality of the river in terms of parametersof Physics, Chemistryand Biology compared to pp.82 of 2011 on Water Quality Management and Air pollutionControl as well as to determine the appropriateallocationofriver waterqualityThe methodsusedin this study wasasurveymethodas PurposiveSampling. Eachstationintheobservationsetbasedon theenvironmental characteristics. Station1 is located at theup stream ofthePetapahan, Station 2 is in the middle of theRiver which are used for gold mining. Station3is a rural home,Station4 is in the down stream. Data were obtainedfromobservationsoftheprimarydataintermofPhysics,ChemistryandBiologyparameters.Physicalparametersoftheobservationsweretemperature, river’s flow,Total Suspended Solid (TSS) andchemicalparameterswere pH,Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD),Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Nitrate,PhosphateandBiologicalparameterswas makrozoobenthos. ThePetapahanRiveris catagorizedpollutedbeyondThresholdAirQuality StandardClass Iwhen it comparedto IndonesianPeraturan Pemerintah.82 2001andPetapahanRiverwater unfit toservetheneeds of thecommunity. Abstract

The requirements of drinking water contain no coliform and fluoride in about 1,5 ppm. Theaims of this research to to find out the concentration of escherichia coli anf fluoride wrappedusing plastic bags at restaurants in Rumbai Pesisir Pekanbaru. The method of this researchis an survey method. To analyse escherichia coli used Most Probable Number Method andfluoride used SPANDS Method. The results show that all sample bags (100%) taken werecontaminated by coliform and 60% contained escherichia coli. It was found that out of fivetested samples, two of them contained Fluoride more than maximum threshold requirement ofthe drinking water quality when referred to the Health Minister Regulation Number492/Menkes/PER/IV/2010.

Abstract

Helminthes Disease is a kind of disease that mostly suffered within the community, although ithas been given little attention (neglected disease). The disease that slowly disturb human beinghealth, that may cause a permanent physical disability, decreasing of child intelligences, and atthe end can cause death. Behavior and conduct of the workers that is not in accordance withthe health principles is also can influence the workers’ health as like not using protection meanand lack of personal hygienic means like body protection, not in use of gloves, lack ofawareness in washing hands with antiseptic soaps, usage of the hygienic water so that hisbody could be infected by the eggs of worm. This observation is intended to recognize thepersonal hygienic relation means ( body protection, the habit of washing hands with antisepticsoaps and usage of the hygienic water ) with the Soil Transmitted Helminthes at City ofPekanbaru’s Plantation Workers. This observation is conducted at City of PekanbaruPlantation with 27 respondent samples where all inhabitants become samples by using analyticsurvey methods with cross sectional design. Data analysis is conducted in uni-variant and bi-variant with statistical trial of Chi-Square. Results of the observation shown variety inconnection with the existence of worms at City of Pekanbaru’s Plantation Workers based on Chi-Square trial, among others body protection means (Py = 0,024; OR = 0,08), the habit ofwashing hands with antiseptic soaps (Py = 0,024; OR = 0,08), while on using of hygienic water(Py = 0,115) is no relation with the existence of the worms. It is suggested to the decision makerin the government of Pekanbaru City, especially Regional Office of Ministry of Health,Cleanliness Service and City of Pekanbaru Park in providing body protection means like; shoes,gloves and antiseptic soaps in handling the effect that might caused by worm diseases.

Abstract

Penggunaan limbah buah sebagai adsorben berbiaya rendah untuk mengurangi pencemaran akibat logam telah menarik banyak perhatian. Pada penelitian ini akan dibuat adsorben dari bubuk biji alpukat (Persea Americana Mill) yang diaktivasi menggunakan dua jenis aktivator yaitu HCl dan H2SO4. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh aktivator terhadap bubuk biji alpukat dalam menjerap ion Pb(II). Variasi konsentrasi aktivator (2,5; 5; dan 7,5%) dilakukan untuk mendapatkan adsorben dengan kemampuan daya jerap terbaik.Hasil karakterisasi terhadap bubuk biji alpukat yang telah diaktivasi menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi optimum HCl sebagai aktivator adalah 2,5%, sedangkan H2SO4 yaitu 7,5%. Bubuk biji alpukat yang telah diaktivasi kemudian diuji kemampuan daya jerapnya terhadap ion Pb(II). Kandungan logam Pb dalam larutan sebelum dan setelah proses adsorpsi dianalisis menggunakan metode Spektroskopi Serapan Atom. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua jenis aktivator tersebut dapat meningkatkan penyerapan timbal dalam larutan jika dibandingkan hasil adsorpsi bubuk biji alpukat tanpa aktivasi. Efisiensi penjerapan bubuk biji alpukat yang diaktivasi menggunakan HCl dan H2SO4 masing-masing sebesar 96,81 dan 83,56% terhadap larutan Pb dengan konsentrasi 10 ppm. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa aktivator HCl bersifat lebih baik dibandingkan H2SO4 dalam menjerap ion Pb(II) dalam larutan.

Abstract

The study was done in August to September 2015 and located in the Kartama Garden (PSN) on Kartama street Marpoyan Damai district area and KOMPPOS – EM garden (PSO) at the University of Riau, Pekanbaru. The purpose of this research is determining metal Cu (copper) in vegetable (mustard, convolvulus and lettuce) and soil, determining the rate of pollution metal Cu, analyzing the use of fertilizer and pesticide synthetic levels of metal Cu in a sample and analyzing the impact of agricultural income activity for farmers. Based on the research, levels of metal Cu in vegetables and soil PSN had passed of quality standard Director General POM RI namely 5,0 mg/kg and categorized polluted metal Cu. While sample vegetable KOMPPOS - EM garden (PSO) is still under environmental quality category and including contaminated. Using fertilizer and pesticide synthetic and continuing to exceed doses constantly affects levels of metal Cu in a sample of vegetables and soil significantly. Economically, PSN and PSO farming is agricultural activity that can give advantages for farmers.

Abstract

Mineral kaolin yang bersal dari Desa Sencalang Kecamatan Kerintang Kabupaten Indra Giri Hilir dapat digunakan sebagai bahan baku pembuatan zeolit karena mengandung SiO2 yang cukup besar yaitu 60,49-83,02 % dan Al2O3 10,63-24,19 %. Zeolit yang dibuat dari peleburan 25 g kaolin dan 35 g NaOH serta penambahan silikat dan aluminat 1:1, mempunyai karakter yang mirip dengan zeolit A. Hasil difraksi sinar-X menunjukkan adanya pola difraksi sudut 2θ berturut turut 7,20: 10,12; 16,13; 21,70; 24,00; 30,79; 34,24; 36,63; 42,63 dan adanya regangan asimetris O-Si-O atau O-Al-O pada bilangan gelombang 1007 dan 1006 cm -1, 715-720 cm-1 regangan simetris O-Si-O atau O-Al-O dari ikatan TO4 tetrahedral. Bilangan gelombang 463 dan 456 cm-1 merupakan vibrasi tekuk TO4 tertahedral sedangkan serapan cincin ganda terlihat tajam pada nilangan gelombang 559 cm-1.

Abstract

Chemically the composition of cow bones preparation consist  of 69% of inorganic  phase, 22% of organic phase and 9% water. The organic phase of bone contains 90% collagen. Therefore, the organic phase of cow bone can be used as a source of carbon that functions as  the active charcoal bone. Active charcoal cow  bones made of carbonization and activation process, using activator Na2CO3 with variation concentration of 2.5%; 5% and 7.5%. In this study, the active charcoal cow bones with the variation of concentration are characterizated and obtained the optimum concentration of  Na2CO3  at concentrations of 5% to 7.99% of moisture content, 13,33% of ash content, 27,164 m2/g of methylene blue adsorption and 184, 6947 mg/g of  iod adsorption. The active charcoal  cow bones with Na2CO3 5% was utilized to adsorp ions of iron (SNI 6989-4-2009), copper (SNI 6989-6-2009), sulfate  (SNI 06-2426-1991)  and cyanide  (SNI 6989-76-2011)  in  solution for  24 hours with variations of the concentration of 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 and 600 mg/L. Ions of iron and copper  were  analyzed  using an  Atomic Absorption of Spectrofotometer (AAS), while ions  of sulphate and cyanide analyzed using a Spectrofotometer UV-VIS. The  Optimum adsorption  ability  of  active charcoal  cow bones  is  99,9624%  of the iron ions at a concentration of 300  mg/L, copper ions at 99,6484%  that  obtained at a concentration of 200  mg/L, sulfate ions at 68,274% and 69,594% of cyanide ions at a concentration of 200 mg/L.

Abstract

AbstractThe West Sumatra Earthquake on September 30, 2009, which also hit Padang City, caused most of the buildings to be severely and slightly damaged. This paper discusses the types of damage, repairs and reinforcement of residential houses in Mekar Melati Housing, Lubuk Minturun Sub-District, Padang City, West Sumatra. Data were collected using direct survey and assessment on both houses that have been severely damaged or slightly damaged. After the 2009 earthquake, the residential houses in the Mekar Melati housing complex in Lubuk Minturun, generally suffered severe damage and slight damage. The reason is that the building there is included in the category of very simple houses. Building materials used without slof, let alone walls that only use hollowbrick material, of which if the material is not plastered it will become brittle, resulting in the building easily collapsing.Keywords: Damage, earthquake, residential houses, repairs and reinforcement.AbstrakGempa Sumatera Barat pada 30 September 2009 yang turut melanda Kota Padang telah mengakibatkan sebagian besar bangunan mengalami rusak berat dan ringan. Makalah ini membahas jenis kerusakan, perbaikan dan perkuatan bangunan rumah warga di Perumahan Mekar Melati Kelurahan Lubuk Minturun Kota Padang, Sumatera Barat. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan survei dan asesmen secara langsung, baik rumah yang mengalami rusak berat maupun rusak ringan. Pascagempa 2009 bangunan rumah warga di perumahan Mekar Melati Kelurahan Lubuk Minturun, umumnya banyak mengalami rusak berat dan juga rusak ringan. Penyebabnya adalah karena bangunan di sana termasuk kategori rumah yang sangat sederhana (RSS). Material bangunan yang digunakan tidak memakai slof, apalagi dinding yang hanya menggunakan  bahan hollowbrick, dimana bahan tersebut jika tidak diplaster maka akan menjadi rapuh sehingga mengakibatkan bangunan mudah runtuh.Kata kunci : Kerusakan, gempa bumi, perumahan, perbaikan dan perkuatan.

Abstract

Research on pollution load of shrimp ponds around Sungai Kembung in Bengkalis Island Riau Province cultivate shrimp with intensive cultivation technology. Feeding that is not appropriate for size can contribute nitrate and phosphate levels to nature that can trigger eutrophication. The purpose of this research is to analyze the pollution load BOD5, DO, NO3 - dan PO4-3 at Sungai Kembung. The results showed that pollutant concentrations in the River Kembung had crossed the threshold according to KepMen LH No 51/Men-KLH/2004 which is destined for marine biota. The pollution load BOD5 shows that Statiun 2 is the highest station receiving pollution loads equal to 16.094 tons/month. Nitrate pollution load on the Station 2 is the highest station to receive pollution load is equal to 39 tons/month. The pollution load of phosphate indicates that the Station 2 is the highest station to receive pollution load that is equal to 38 tons/month. The pollution load of DO indicates that the smallest contamination load (the most polluted) is on the Station 1 equal to 278 tons/month.

Abstract

In Indonesia, almost all clean water supply for the community is carried out by the government-owned drinking water company, namely the Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) and is directly under the auspices of the city government. For Pekanbaru City, the provision of clean water services is carried out by the Regional Owned Enterprises, Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) Tirta Siak which is under the auspices of the Pekanbaru City Government. . Until now PDAM Tirta Siak still has problems relating to the amount of drinking water production. Clean water management by PDAM Tirta Siak Pekanbaru City has various problems. These problems include technical and non-technical problems. However, problems often occur due to the condition of the water source itself, often the condition of water quality, quantity and continuity is unstable. Water management problems occur due to many factors that influence it. The purpose of this study was to determine the status of the sustainability of the Tirta Siak Regional Drinking Water Company in Pekanbaru City based on 3 dimensions, namely ecology, economy and social. The analytical method uses a multi-disciplinary rapid assessment with MDS (Multidimensional Scaling) analysis. The results of the analysis show that the sustainability index value in the ecological dimension is 53.6% with a fairly continuous status where the sensitive factor is water availability, the economic dimension is 50.9% with a fairly continuous status where the sensitive attribute is collection effectiveness, while the social dimension is 49.9% with status less sustainable where the sensitive attribute is the employee training ratio.
