Abstract

PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (PT TMMIN) in 2014 is preparing the implementation of new engine type TR-Kai. Additional types of engine TR-Kai need additional type of new components too. Additional types of TR-Kai component means need additional space for placement, but the problem is unavailable space. The supply system design method includes layout change, equipment (material handling) and also system (works cycle) which is delivered well. The countermeasure idea is to change the material handling usage and also implementation direct supply system. Direct supply system in regular working time has reduced lead time almost 2 days of safety stock. Direct supply reduces 33.3% of inefficient handling, reduce hoist usage (safety matter) between 80,2% up to 93.4% each day, and also reduce 81.5% of forklift usage (safety matter). The evaluation result of this system is able to reduce 33.3% of manpower supply and monthly cost saving up to 46.2% with a Break Event Point (BEP) during 4 years 7.5 months.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the compliance system of the reliefs through Indonesia aid agencies. Reliefs can be assembled and deployed from the government, private, and community. Logistical support needed for disaster management. Support logistical support should be on time, precise location, target, good quality, enough quantity, and needed. This research used interview method to the BPBD, PMI, and the private sector (KSR) and distributing questionnaires to 101 respondents to identify the community's involvement in the current disaster management system. Results from this study indicate that the compliance system of the goods through disaster management agencies still lack involve the private sector and community involvement in disaster management at the program is still lacking. The current system is still considered less troublesome and won the trust of the public. The private sector is still less involved in this system, whereas the private sector is a party that can assist humanitarian organizations that exist today to meet their needs. One of the private parties who may be involved is KSR University

Abstract

PT A is a manufacturer company which produces cigarette. PT A wants to do continuous improvement by keeping on reducing waste in S department. Value Stream Mapping (VSM) is a method that has been used to identify value added activity and non value added activity (waste) in that company.Based on the current value stream mapping of brand Y, there are 3 types of wastes which are inventory, transportation, and waiting. The proposed improvements will reflect in the future value stream mapping and reduce the total lead time by 5.82 %.

Abstract

Musa acuminata paradisiaca is one of banana varieties, has a high demand in East Java thus highly potential to be developed. The highest production sites are located at Malang and Lumajang. Unfortunately, this type of banana are perishable that limited the selling period. An alternative way to solve is via improving the supply chain management. In this research, we developed some supply chain models and evaluate there performance using simulation with Vensim software. We used sales profit, lost sales, oversupply and availability to measure performance of the models, supply chain management at Malang and Lumajang. The results show that supply chain at Lumajang performed better than Malang interms of sales profit, lost sales and availability.

Abstract

PT. X is one of the leading companies in the cigarette industry in Indonesia. The company aims to do continuous improvement of their finished goods distribution with the requested schedules and quantities. The company also wants to have DIM ready as scheduled with the required quantities based on the production needs. The first measure that can be taken is the creation of safety stock for the two varieties of the inventory as a mean to act as a cushion whenever a stockout occurs that can be caused by distribution delay by PT.X as well as vendor. The determining factor for the safety stock is the classification of every inventory. The classification of ABC/XYZ is needed before determining the safety stock. This will help the company to determine the inventory, predictable or forecasted or not, based on the volatility of the inventory itself. The classification is also used to help the company to see which inventory that should be prioritized for the storing process.

Abstract

The need for work in process on PCBA production line can be caused by fluctuating demand for PCBA products. Amount of work in process on production line that company wanted is between 3 up to 7 inventory days. Average current amount of work in process before implementation of proposed improvement is 12.03 inventory days. Root causes anaylise uses root cause tree. There are two proposed improvements, which are improvement on work in process update’s system and improvement on material distribution to every work station. Proposed improvement that can be implemented is improvement on material distribution of every work station. Average amount of work in process after implementation the improvement is 6.72 inventory days.

Abstract

This study was conducted to give the proposed model of humanitarian logistics coordination for the handling of natural disasters in Indonesia by involving the private sector. The private sector, involved in disaster management, is DHL. The analysis techniques used are the competitive profile matrix to evaluate the performance of each agency involved and RASIC analysis to determine the role of each institution in each activity. The results showed that the private sector is still less involved in Indonesia’s disaster management and the role of some institutions in some activity is still not quite right. DHL is proposed to be involved because it has sufficient capacity to be involved in disaster management. Activities that can be roled by DHL are involving in the delivery and distribution of relief and to help receive relief from foreign parties. Activities that need to be changed is the provision of funds, the making standardization relief, and assessment.

Abstract

The Inventory Routing Problem (IRP) has become a problem that thoroughly studied recently. One of the IRP models that have been developed was an IRP multi-tour, which described a single distribution center r with a set of salespoints. The salespoints is served by a limited number of vehicles with finite load capacities. Vehicle will replenish the salespoints by making a multi-tour route. Each multi-tour consists of a set of sub-tour involving salespoints to be replenished. The multi-tour solution has increase the complexity of the model compared to the normal tour IRP model. Therefore a Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm has been proposed for solving a sequential problem in allocating salespoints to the route. Some heuristic methods also been developed for creating the multi-tour. The validity of the algorithm, along with comparison with other existing algorithm, has been provided to validate the proposed PSO algorithm. Result obtained has shown that the PSO algorithm having a promising performance in solving the problem.

Abstract

The value of spare part inventory in company is high because there are so many non moving spare part. The purpose of this research is to reduce spare part inventory by ditributing questionnaires about spare parts status And analyzing the amount of inventory and creating a form of PR and purchase history. Status of spare part is divided into three kinds, they are status A, status B, and status C. Status A is intended for spare parts that are still in use, status B is intended for spare parts that are not used anymore, and status C is intended for spare parts that have been damaged. Status A is analyzed from the economic side of inventory amount to decide whether it should be kept or written off. Form PR and purchase history is made to help facilitate the recording of purchases of spare parts. The results shows through write off can reduce inventory amount up to 4,57% dan the value of inventory decreased up to Rp 216,432,253.00. The result also shows the analyze of inventory amount can save the cost up to Rp. 8,592,063.00 for Electrical Maintenance Department’s spare part.
