Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) caused by dengue virus transmitted by Aedes sp. Population of Aedes sp needed to know bionomic and ecologic especially in rural areas. This study aims to determine the Aedes sp density description at the Rowosari village, Tembalang Sub-district, Semarang City. This is descriptive research using cross sectional approach that conducted by survey and observation method about the density of Aedes sp. The study sample are 100 houses spreading in each sub village in Rowosari selected by the purposive sampling method. The results show the density of larvae in Rowosari is very high based on larvae density index HI = 44.1%, CI = 31,7%, BI =74,9% OI= 64,1%, so it can be said Rowosari including areas with high risk of dengue. The Aedes aegypti density is 0.67 resting inside house and 0 resting outside house. The Aedes albopictus density 0.13 resting inside house and 0,06 resting outside house. During the study founded 2 types of Aedes sp that are Aedes aegypti (53%) and Aedes albopictus (4.7%). Based on this research, suggest to use the type of container that mosquitoes doesn’t prefer for breeding place and routinely clean the containers either in house and outside the house. Keywords: DHF, Aedes sp, Aedes albopictus, Larvae Density, DBD

Abstract

Background: Currently, diabetes mellitus is starting to be suffered by many people at a young age. close to 22.3% of people with diabetes mellitus in Indonesia aged 15-24 years. Diabetes mellitus risk food behavior is one of the risk factors that must be avoided. However, there are still many young people, including univeristy students who still apply this behavior. The level of knowledge and social media is considered to have an influence on the eating behavior of students. So it is necessary to know the relationship between knowledge level and the influence of social media with the behavior of consuming food at risk of diabetes mellitus, so that diabetes mellitus prevention efforts are carried out effectively. Methods: This research is a analytical study with a cross-sectional study design. The sample in this study were 435 students at Diponegoro University. The sampling technique used in this study was accidental sampling. This study used an online questionnaire to determine the variables studied.Result: The results of this study indicate 53.3% of respondents have a high level of knowledge, 64.4% of respondents have a high influence of social media, and 56.1% have a risky food consumption behavior of diabetes mellitus. This study indicate a correlation between the level of knowledge (p=0.000) and the influence of social media (p=0.045) to the behavior of consuming food at risk of diabetes mellitus in Diponegoro University students. Conclusion: Based on the result, there is a relationship between the level of knowledge and the influence of social media with the behavior of consuming food at risk of diabetes mellitus in Diponegoro University students.

Abstract

Background: When the COVID-19 pandemic occurred, healthcare workers were under pressure, especially those who had direct contact with confirmed cases of COVID-19 due to the high risk of infection. These factors can lead to increased psychological problems in health workers such as anxiety. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the factors that can cause anxiety during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this research was conducted at RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional study design. The sample size in this study was 103 respondents. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling.Result: The results of this study indicate that the factors associated with the level of anxiety are age (p-value = 0.037), gender (p-value = 0.003), and years of service (p-value = 0.023). Factor that is not related to the level of anxiety is marital status (p-value = 0.830).Conclusion : It can be concluded that age, gender, years of service are factors related to the level of anxiety in health workers at RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta.

Abstract

Background: HIV/AIDS is still considered as a deadly and hard to be cured disease by the society and therefore raises negative perceptions towards People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). These negative perceptions can influence the quality of life of PLWHA, where the worse quality of life that they have, the greater chances for them to develop AIDS. This study aims to analyze the factors associated to the quality of life of PLWHA.Methods: The population of this study is PLWHA in Semarang City who are currently undergoing ART therapy and are under the assistance of Yayasan Sehat Peduli Kasih. The study was conducted on October – November 2020 towards 70 subjects whom were chosen using the purposive sampling technique. Instrument used for this study was online questionnaires. Data were analyzed with univariate and bivariate analysis using a chi-square test.Result: The results showed that 54.3% of the subjects were having poor quality of life. Factors that are associated with the quality of life of PLWHA are income level (p=0.009), duration of diagnosis (p=0.004), duration of ART therapy (p=0.002), level of family support (p=0.007), level of stigma (p<0.001) and level of depression (p<0.001). Meanwhile gender, age, marital status, education level, employment status and the level of medication adherence did not associate with the quality of life of PLWHA.Conclusion : Based on these results, it is recommended to conduct a comprehensive social activity that is focused on improving the mental health and the quality of life of PLWHA where all patients with any backgrounds could freely participate.
