Abstract

Infeksi jamur di rongga mulut banyak disebabkan oleh jamur Candida albicans yang merupakan flora normal dalam tubuh dan bersifat opertunistik. Ekstrak anggur merah memiliki aktivitas antijamur, karena memiliki kandungan flavonoid dan tannin. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak anggur merah berbagai konsentrasi terhadap pertumbuhan Candida albicans secara in vitro. Penelitian eksperimental laboratorium dengan post test only control group design. Sampel adalah Candida albicans dengan tingkat kepekaan sesuai dengan standar Mc Farland 0,5 yaitu 1 X 108 CFU/ml. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode cakram yang dilakukan pada satu kelompok kontrol dan empat kelompok perlakuan ekstrak anggur merah dengan konsentrasi 12,5%, 25%, 50%, dan 100%. Pertumbuhan Candida albicans di ukur dari zona hambat yang terbentuk. Uji Kruskal Wallis dan Man-Whitney di gunakan untuk melihat perbedaan rata-rata diameter zona hambat. Hasil penelitian menunjukan diameter zona hambat ditemukan pada kelompok ekstrak anggur merah konsentrasi 12,5%, 25%, 50%, dan 100%. Dengan rata-rata diameter 0,8mm,  1,26mm, 1,65mm, 2,1mm. Ke empat nilai rata-rata ini menunjukan perbedaan bermakna (nilai p=0,000). Disimpulkan bahwa semakin tinggi konsentrasi ekstrak anggur merah, semakin besar daya hambatnya terhadap pertumbuhan jamurCandida albicans.

Abstract

Kejadian infeksi di Indonesia meningkat dalam 10 tahun terakhir ini dan tenaga medis Kedokteran Gigi berisiko tinggi terhadap penularan penyakit. Pengetahuan dan motivasi yang baik sangat diperlukan untuk mendukung penerapan kontrol infeksi yang telah dicanangkan oleh pemerintah, sebagai upaya mencegah dan mengendalikan kejadian infeksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubunganantara pengetahuan terhadap motivasi Dokter Gigi Muda dalam kontrol infeksi di  RSIGM Sultan Agung Semarang. Jenis penelitian menggunakan analitik observasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional study. Jumlah responden sebanyak 60 orang Dokter Gigi Muda. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan cara simpel random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara memberikan kuesioner mengenai  pengetahuan dan motivasi kepada Dokter Gigi Muda dalam kontrol infeksi serta dilakukan observasi perilaku sebagai data tambahan. Analisis statistik memakai uji korelasi Spearman rho. Berdasarkan uji Spearman rho didapatkan nilai sig. 0,034 (P<0,05) dan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,274 sehingga dapat disimpulkan terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara pengetahuan terhadap motivasi Dokter Gigi Muda dalam kontrol infeksi, dengan kategori kekuatan hubungan yang lemah. Hasil observasi perilaku Dokter Gigi Muda dalam kontrol infeksi menunjukan: penggunaan gaun pelindung (100%), penggunaan masker (92,5%), penggunaan sarung tangan (95%), mencuci tangan setelah tindakan (90%), mencuci tangan sebelum tindakan (65%), kepatuhan dalam mencuci tangan (74,2%) serta penggunaan pelindung mata dan wajah (20%). Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan antara pengetahuan terhadap motivasi Dokter GigiMuda dalam kontrol infeksi dengan kekuatan hubungan lemah. Artinya bahwa pengetahuan berpengaruh lemah terhadap motivasi, diduga dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor seperti kurangnya pengawasan dan aturan yang kurang tegas yang terkait dalam kontrol infeksi.

Abstract

Kehilangan gigi posterior bilateral dapat mempengaruhi fungsi pengunyahan dan gangguan sendi temporomandibular. Gejala yang paling sering ditemukan adanya gangguan sendi temporomandibular adalah suara pada saat sendi bergerak. Clicking adalah suara yang berasal dari sendi terdiri dari suara tunggal dan berdurasi singkat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui hubungan kehilangan gigi posteriorbilateral free end terhadap timbulnya clicking pada sendi temporomandibular lansia.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional analitik dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Pengambilan sampel dengan metode Selective Random Sampling. Subjek penelitian adalah lansia. Dilakukan pemeriksaan kehilangan gigi posterior bilateral free end menggunakan kaca mulut, sedangkan untuk pemeriksaan ada tidaknya bunyi clicking diperiksa secara auskultasi menggunakan stetoskop. Data yang didapatkan dimasukan ke dalam tabel 2 x 2 selanjtnya dilakukan uji statistik menggunakan uji normalitas chi-square.Total sampel penelitian sebesar 74 lansia, 36 (48,6%) lansia yang mengalami kehilangan gigi posterior bilateral free end, 41 (55,45) lansia yang mengalami clicking dan 26 (63,4) lansia dari 41 yang mengalami clicking kehilangan gigi posterior bilateral free end. Uji chi-square didapatkan hasil yang signifikan 0,005 (p > 0.05), sehingga dapat diintrepetasikan bahwa ada hubungan signifikan antara kelompok kasus dan kelompok kontrol terhadap faktor resiko. Ada hubungan kehilangan gigi posterior bilateral free end dengan clicking pada sendi temporomandibulalansia.

Abstract

Carbohydrates and protein can be used to inhibit S. mutans as a bacteri causes caries. Both nutrients can be found in cow’s or soy milk. The aim of the study is to know the difference in effectiveness between the cow’s milk and soy milk on the Streptococcus mutans growth.The research was designed by group post test only. The independent variables were preparation of cow’s milk and soy milk. The dependent variable was the S. mutans growth measured from the inhibition zone diameter around the Muller Hinton Agar Plate. Data were analyzed by One-way anova.Result of this study showed that the inhibition zone diameter in cow’s milk concentration 80% and 100% were 5.26 mm and 6.17 mm, while in the soy milk were 12.61 mm and 15.11 mm. One-way anova results p = 0.000 explained that cow’s milk and soy milk have a significant difference to the S. mutans growth. Post hoc test showed that soy milk 100% was the most powerful in inhibition of S. mutans growth.The inhibition of soy milk and cow’s milk on the growth of S. mutans tends to increase according to the high concentrations that were used. Key words: cow milk, soy milk, Streptococcus mutans

Abstract

Background: One of factor that increases the flexural strenght of fiberreinforced acrylic resin is a fiberglass position . Fiberglass is one of type that can be used in dentistry. The aim of this was to determine the influence of position of fiberglass to the flexural strenght of fiber reinforced acrylic resin.Method: This study was in vitro laboratory experimental. Samples was 16plate spesimens (65x10x2.5mm). The study group was divided into 4 group : 3 groups of fiber reinforced acrylic resin were given fiberglass at the upper, middle, and bottom side and 1 control group of resin acrylic without fiberglass. All of groups would be in the flexural strenght test with a three-point bending test using a universal testing machine.Result: Based on One Way ANOVA test showed that there were significantvalue 0.000 (p<0.05), it concluded that there were significant influencebetween all the groups. Based on the LSD Post Hoc test showed that therewere significant value between all of groups with fiberglass reinforced andcontrol group without fiberglass reinforced. Comparisson between the group that given fiberglass in a upper and middle side with the group that given in bottom side showed value of significant difference (p < 0.05).Conclusion: The result of study was concluded that there was an influenceon the position of fiberglass to flexural strenght of fiber reinforced acrylic resin

Abstract

Introduction: SThe carbonated beverage is the main factor  causing tooth erosion due to acidic and mass consumed, especially by children and adolescents.Purpose: This study was conducted to determine the  differences between solubility of calcium in deciduous teeth and  permanent teeth in the soaking fruit-flavored carbonated  beverage.Methods: The research was a quasi experimental research with the formulated research post test only design. The sample used was 24 teeth, which consists of 12 deciduous incisors central teeth of the maxillary and 12 incisor central permanent teeth of the maxillary. The samples were divided into 6 groups and treated by soaking in the carbonated soft drinks for 30, 45, and 60 minutes. The data analysis used in this reasearch was a Two Way ANOVA test with probability p<0.05. Furthermore, the data were analyzed by the Tukey HSD test to determine the  differences in each group.Results: Based on Two Way ANOVA test that was conduct, it was obtained significance value of 0.000 (p <0.05), so it can be concluded that there are significant differences between groups. From Tukey HSD test it was obtained a significance value of  p<0.05 in all groups. It means that there are significant differences between each group, except in the immersion group of deciduous teeth 30 minutes with the permanent teeth 45 minutes that obtained 0,929 significance (p>0.05). It means that there was no significant differences between the two treatment groups. The result of the data analysis reveals that there was a difference in the solubility of calcium in deciduous teeth and permanent teeth. The solubility of calcium in deciduous teeth was larger than the permanent teeth at all time duration,  because of the deciduous teeth had thinner and permeable enamel than permanent teeth.

Abstract

Community empowerment is an effort to provide power (empowerment) or strengthening (strengthening) to the community. Community empowerment is defined as the ability of individuals in the community forum to build community empowerment which aims to find new alternatives in community development. During a pandemic, family participation as a promotive, preventive and preventive approach is needed through the role of one family member to become mentoring whom a role model for the family to break the chain of Covit-19 disease. The research objective was to determine the effectiveness of the development of counseling through community empowerment with the approach of establishing Kader Mandiri Keluarga (KMK) as "Self-Screening Supervisor to Healthy and Night Toothbrushes".The analytical method used is descriptive quantitative, with a sample of 20 mother as a supervisor that representing 20 families. The implementation stages begin with socialization and counseling on the application of a lifestyle as a link breaker in the Covid-19 disease chain. Then every week for a month, questionnaires were distributed about the behavior of implementing health protocols and the behavior of brushing teeth before going to bed at night using a google form which was monitored every week via the WhatsApp group.The differences in behavior changes in control of healthy teeth maintenance from week 1, 2, 3 and week 4 were analyzed using the statistical test used, namely the Friedmen test. The results of the activity showed that there was a significant change in behavior in relation to brushing your teeth for 2 minutes and brushing your teeth before going to bed from week 1, 2, 3 to week 4 (p: 0.05). The role of mentoring activities as an effort to empower the community plays a role in improving and changing general health and dental behavior. The obstacle faced by the facilitator is that it is still difficult to change the mindset of the community in order to be more independent and not depend on the assistant.. Keywords : Mentoring, KMK, supervisors, behavior change

Abstract

From Tukey HSD test it was obtained a significance value of  p<0.05 in all groups. It means that there are significant differences between each group, except in the immersion group of deciduous teeth 30 minutes with the permanent teeth 45 minutes that obtained 0,929 significance (p>0.05). It means that there was no significant differences between the two treatment groups. The solubility of calcium in deciduous teeth was larger than the permanent teeth at all time duration,  because of the deciduous teeth had thinner and permeable enamel than permanent teeth.
