Abstract

This experiment aimed to determine the effect of phytase enzyme and ZnO supplementation on the percentage of weight of carcass, commercial cuts, abdominal fat of males, and females of Sentul-G3 chicken fed high rice bran diet. There are nine treatments, R1 = 50% commercial diet: 50% rice bran; R2 = R1 + 1.5 g ZnO/kg; R3 = R1 + 3.2 g ZnO/kg; R4 = R1 + phytase 1.000 U/kg; R5 = R1 + (phytase 1.000 U/kg + 1.5 g ZnO/kg); R6 = R1 + (phytase 1.000 U/kg + 3.2 g ZnO / kg); R7 = R1 + phytase 2.000 U/kg; R8 = R1 + (phytase 2.000 U/kg + 1.5 g ZnO/kg); dan R9 = R1 + (phytase 2.000 U/kg + 3.2 g ZnO/kg). Each experimental unit consisted of 6 animals unsexed local chicken Sentul-G3. Beside that, used commercial diet treatment. Parameters observed were percentage of weight of carcass, commercial cuts, abdominal fat of males, and females of Sentul-G3 chicken. The experimental results showed that the diet treatment did not gave effect to percentage of weight of male and female carcass, male and female backs, the female wings, upper thights and abdominal fat of male and female chickens Sentul-G3. Diet treatments gave varies effect to weight percentage of male and female breast, upper thighs female, male and female lower thighs chicken Sentul-G3. The combination of 2.000 U phytase and 3.2 g of ZnO/kg diet lowers weight percentage of male wings. Supplementation of 1.5 g ZnO/kg diet increases abdominal fat deposition.

Abstract

One hundred and sixty KUB pullets of 22 weeks of age (KUB = Kampung chicken selected for egg production) were previously raised on different dietary protein level during starter-grower period. During starting period, chicks (0-12 weeks of age) were given dietary protein of: 16% crude protein, CP (R1); 17.5% CP (R2); 19% CP (R3); 20.5% CP (R4); 22% CP (R5). All dietary treatments were iso-energy of 2800 kcal ME (metabolisable energy)/kg. During growing period (12-22 weeks) each group of treatment chick was divided into two regimes of dietary protein levels. One was subjected to the same as treatments given during starting period, and the other one was given diet with reduced dietary protein content up to 1.5%. The treatments were R1-1, having dietary protein of 16.0%; R1-2, having dietary protein of 14.5%; R2-1, having dietary protein of 17.5%; R2-2, having dietary protein of 16.0%; R3-1, having dietary protein of 19.0%; R3-2, having dietary protein of 17.5%; R4-1, having dietary protein of 20.5%; R4-2, having dietary protein of 19.0%; R5-1, having dietary protein of 22% and R5-2, having dietary protein of 20.5%. The energy content of all dietary treatments was the same for all treatments 2800 kkal ME/kg. The hens were then grouped into the treatment as the treatment groups of growing period of 12-22 weeks. Hens were then raised on laying diet, containing 17.11% CP (crude protein) with 2728 kcal ME/kg. The results showed that the change of dietary treatment, given during growing period, influenced (P < 0,05) first lay weight, first egg weight,  weight gain, egg weight, egg width, egg volume of KUB hens age of 22-42 weeks. And the dietary protein treatment, given during starter and growing period, influenced (P < 0.05) first lay body weight, first lay age, feed consumption, egg weight, egg length, egg width of KUB hens age of 22-42 weeks. Abstract

Sensi-1 Agrinak is a strain of the improved native chickens for meat production in Indonesia. The objective of this study  was to investigate influence of different dietary energy and protein levels on performance, meat bone ratio, and meat chemical composition of Sensi-1 Agrinak chicken, reared until 10 weeks of age. Two hundred and sixteen of unsexed day old chickens (DOC) of  Sensi-1 Agrinak were subjected to six experimental rations differed in dietary crude protein (CP) content,. Namely: 21;19; and 17 % and dietary  metabolizable  energy (ME) (2800 and 3000 kcal/kg). Each treatment combination was replicated  four times and fed from day old to 10 weeks old. In each treatment combination there were nine unsexed-DOCs. The parameters observed were performance (i.e. live weight, feed intake, viability, FCR), economic index (European Production Efficiency Factor/EPEF), meat bone ratio, and meat chemical composition.  Result showed that  increased of dietary CP level increased live weight and EPEF (p<0.05). Sensi-1 Agrinak chicken had the best FCR (2.59), when fed  diet containing 21% CP and 3000 kcal/kg. Increased dietary CP level increased the  meat-bone ratio of breast, thighs, and drumsticks. Meanwhile, increased levels of dietary CP and ME did not affect (p>0.05) meat chemical composition. It is concluded that optimal dietary levels of crude protein and energy for unsexed Sensi-1 Agrinak chicken  up to 10 weeks of age were 21% CP and 3000 kcal/kg.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of phytase enzymes and ZnO supplementation on the performance of native chicken Sentul-G3 fed high rice-bran diet. Two hundred and seventy day old chicks (DOC) native chicken Sentul-G3 from three different hatcheries were used in this study. Factorial randomized block design (3 x 3) was applied in this study. The first factor was the enzyme phytase supplementation levels (0; 1000; 2000 U/kg), the second factor was the level of supplementation of ZnO (0; 1.5; 3.2 g/kg), so that there are nine treatment given, namely R1 = 50% commercial diet : 50% rice bran; R2 = R1 + 1.5 g ZnO/kg; R3 = R1 + 3.2 g ZnO/kg; R4 = R1 + phytase enzyme 1000 U/kg; R5 = R1 + (phytase enzyme 1000 U/kg + 1.5 g ZnO/kg); R6 = R1 + (phytase enzyme 1000 U/kg + 3.2 g ZnO/kg); R7 = R1 + phytase enzyme 2000 U/kg; R8 = R1 + (phytase enzyme 2000 U/kg + 1.5 g ZnO/kg); R9 = R1 + (phytase enzyme 2000 U/kg + 3.2 g ZnO/kg). Each experimental unit consisted of 6 head unsexed native chicken Sentul-G3. The experimental diet was fed for 10 weeks. The variables measured were body weight, body weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion ratio, mortality, mineral deposition of Ca, P, Zn in the tibia bone, alkaline phosfatase enzyme activity in serum. Results showed that there was significant interaction (P<0.05) between phytase enzyme and ZnO supplementation on body weight, body weight gain, feed conversion, zinc deposition in the tibia bone. There was no significant interaction (P> 0.05) between phytase enzyme and ZnO supplementation on feed intake, mortality, alkaline phosphatase enzyme activity in serum, and deposition of calcium and  phosphorus in the tibia bone. It was concluded that supplementation of phytase enzyme and ZnO were not able to increase the growth of native chicken Sentul-G3 on fed diet containing high rice bran.

Abstract

An experiment in feeding pre-starter diets was carried out on local chicken (KUB chicken) raised to the age of 84 days. Four hundred and eighty day-old KUB chicks were allocated to experimental diets of P1 = standard diet without pre-starter; P2 = OASIS® pre-starter for 48 hours feeding; P3 = COBA-1, a mixture of 76.3% yolk powder, 0.76% inulin powder, 7.63 % honey and 15.3% tomato sauce, for 24 hours feeding; P4 = P3 given for 48 hours feeding; P5 = fresh papaya for 24 hours feeding; P6 = P5 for 48 hours feeding; P7 = fasting for 24 hours and P8 = fasting for 48 hours. Following treatment, the chicks were then fed with standard diet, containing 17.5 % crude protein with 2800 kcal ME/kg up to the end of the experiment. Results showed that the group of chicken on pre-starter diet of ripe papaya fruit (P5 and P6), responded better EPEF (European Performance Efficiency Factor) value of 442 and 356 g/bird, respectively in chicken of P5 and P6. This better response was due to particularly higher viability and the efficiency in utilization of feed.

Abstract

Abdominal fat in broiler carcass is considered as a waste and its existence reduces the carcass quality. Abdominal fat deposition is affected by several factors such as genetic, nutrition, feed, sex, age and environment. Reducing abdominal fat deposition can be carried out by regulating the nutrient intake to ensure that no excessive nutrient was consumed. Nutrition effects to reduce abdominal fat deposition are associated with nutrient concentration of ration and quantity of daily feed intake. Daily nutrient intake can be limited, especially through restricted feeding. It is concluded that an appropriate feeding management can reduce abdominal fat deposition in broiler. Abstract

ABSTRAK                                                            Seiring dengan telah dilarangnya penggunaan antibiotic growth promotor (AGP) dalam pakan oleh pemerintah Indonesia, maka pencarian pengganti AGP mejadi penting saat ini. Imbuhan pakan fitogenik menjadi salah satu pengganti AGP potensial. Makalah ini ditulis untuk mengungkap peluang pengembangan imbuhan pakan fitogenik sebagai pengganti AGP dalam ransum ayam pedaging di Indonesia. Metode penulisan makalah dilakukan dengan beberapa tahapan. Tahapan pertama, tahap persiapan, dilakukan dengan mengumpulkan dan membaca jurnal, makalah prosiding, buku yang diperoleh dari hasil dari pencarian  pada internet. Dilanjutkan dengan memilih dan menentukan jurnal hasil penelitian, makalah ilmiah pada prosiding, buku terkait dengan topik yang sudah ditentukan. Tahapan ke dua, penyusunan outline makalah yang akan ditulis, dimana pada tahapan ini untuk menentukan skema berfikir penulis terkait dengan topik yang akan di bahas. Tahapan ke tiga, mengembangkan kerangka makalah dengan menggunakan literatur ilmiah, teori, hasil penelitian yang sudah diperoleh. Tahapan ke empat, pemeriksaan terhadap isi makalah yang sudah ditulis, baik secara substansi maupun redaksional. Berdasarkan studi pustaka yang dilakukan disimpulkan bahwa imbuhan pakan fitogenik dari berbagai jenis tanaman potensial digunakan sebagai pengganti AGP dalam pakan ayam pedaging. Kebutuhan akan daging ayam nasional yang semakin tinggi setiap tahunnya, menjadi peluang betapa besarnya pasar akan kebutuhan pengganti AGP di Indonesia. Sinergisme antara lembaga penelitian-perguruan tinggi dengan pelaku industri pakan dan imbuhan pakan menjadi penopang utama dalam pengembangan imbuhan pakan fitogenik di Indonesia.Kata Kunci: imbuhan pakan fitogenik, ayam pedagingABSTRACTKeywords: pytogenic feed additive, broiler chicken The use of antibiotic growth promoter (AGP) in feed has been banned by the Indonesian government. Therefore, the search for alternative AGP continues to be carried out. The addition of phytogenic is one of the potential alternatives because it has the same ability as AGP. This paper was written to reveal the opportunities for developing phytogenic feed additives as a substitute for antibiotics in broiler diet in Indonesia. The method of writing this paper was done in several stages. The first stage, the preparation, is done by searching and reading journals, proceedings, books obtained from the internet. The second method is the preparation of the outline of the paper to be written, to determine the author's thinking scheme related to the topic to be discussed. The third method is developing a framework of thought by using scientific literature obtained and read before. Fourth method is examination of the contents of papers that have been written, both substantially and editorially. Based on the literature study, it was concluded that the phytogenic feed additives from various types of plants should be considered as a substitute for AGP in broiler diet.  The need for national chicken meat which is getting higher every year becomes an opportunity for how big the market will be for AGP's replacement in Indonesia. Synergism between university-research institutions and feed industry is the main support in developing phytogenic feed additives in Indonesia.Keywords: pytogenic feed additive, broiler chicken

Abstract

Tingkat serangan P. xylostella sangat berpengaruh terhadap produksi tanaman kubis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengendalikan  P. xylostella dengan M. anisopliae dalam mengurangi Intensitas Kerusakan  dan mempertahankan hasil Kubis. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium jurusan Agroteknologi, Fakultas Sains dan Teknologi Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung dan  di Desa Sukarapih, Kecamatan Sukasari,  Kabupaten Sumedang dari bulan Januari sampai bulan mei 2017. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimental berupa Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) sederhana dengan faktor kerapatan spora M. anisopliae. Penelitian terdiri dari  kontrolnegatif, kontrol positif, 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, dan 1010 ml-1 aquades sehingga terdapat 8 perlakuan yang diulang 3 kali. Uji lanjut yang digunakan adalah Uji Jarak Berganda Duncan (UJBD) taraf 5%. Pengujian dilakukan pada larva P. xylostella dengan cara menyemrotkan suspensi spora M. anisopliae pada tanaman kubis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kerapatan 1010 spora ml-1 memiliki  peresentasi intensitas kerusakan sebesar 3,12% dimana hasil persentase intensitas kerusakan yang dihasilkan lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lainnya. Pada perlakuan kerapatan 1010 ml-1 spora berpengaruh juga terhadap pertumbuhan diameter krop kubis  dimana setiap minggunya meningkat, hal ini dapat dipengaruhi  karena pada perlakuan 1010 ml-1 spora intensitas kerusakan tanaman rendah sehingga berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan diameter krop kubis dan menghasilkan bobot segar kubis  dengan rata-rata sebesar 691,53 g tanaman-1. Semakin  rendah intensitas serangan hama maka pertumbuhan diameter krop dan hasil tanaman kubis dapat dipertahankan.

Abstract

Post-mine sandpits with low physical, chemical, and biological properties glance to be used as an alternative to vegetable cultivation but require input technology in organic matter and application of FMA. The Research aimed to know the effect of AMF and water hyacinth bokashi (Eichhornia crassipes) on the improvement of physical soil properties growth and yield of Chili pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.) on post-mine sandpits soil. A field-polybag trial had been carried out using a randomized block design two factors with factorial pattern and three replications. The first factor was water hyacinth bokashi dosage (control, 15 t ha-1, 20 t ha-1, and 25 t ha-1). The second factor was AMF dosage (without inoculation, 5 g polybag-1, and 10 g polybag-1). The results showed that application AMF and water hyacinth bokashi improve the soil’s physical properties (bulk density, soil porosity, and soil permeability), harvest index, and the wet weight of fruit. The main effect of bokashi occurs on the amount of chlorophyll, as for the root infection degree affected by FMA inoculation. The experiment indicated that application AMF 5 g and water hyacinth bokashi 15 t ha-1 could be used in Chilli pepper cultivation on post-mine sandpits.

Abstract

Bahan organik dan mikroorganisme diperlukan untuk memperbaiki sifat fisik tanah pasca galian batuan agar dapat digunakan untuk budidaya tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh aplikasi bahan organik dan mikroorganisme tanah terhadap perbaikan fisik tanah pasca galian batuan dan pertumbuhan cabai rawit. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Cibiru Bandung, Jawa Barat dengan titik ordinat  -6.92049471880716, 107.716127309820, dari bulan Juni sampai Oktober 2020, menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Faktorial  dua faktor dan diulang tiga kali. Faktor pertama yaitu bahan organik: b0 : kontrol (tanpa pemberian bahan organik), b1: kompos Paitan 15 t ha-1, b2: kompos eceng gondok 15 t ha-1, b3: abu cangkang sawit 15 t ha-1. Faktor kedua : mikroba: mo: kontrol (tanpa pemberian mikroba), m1 : Inokulum campuran Fungi Mikoriza Asburkular (FMA) 10 g polibag-1, m2 :Inokulum campuran  BPF (Bakteri Pelarut Fosfat) 10 ml polibag-1, m3 : campuran FMA dan BPF. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan eceng gondok 15 t ha-1 yang diberikan bersamaan dengan FMA atau BPF menaikan kelembaban tanah. Aplikasi bahan organik dan mikroba menurunkan agregat stabil tahan air. Eceng gondok dan BPF masing-masing menurunkan suhu tanah. Aplikasi bahan organik dan mikroorganisme belum berpengaruh dalam peningkatan pertumbuhan tanaman cabai rawit, namun berpengaruh terhadap fisik tanah  tanah pasca galian batuan.ABSTRACTOrganic matters and microorganisms are needed to improve the physical properties of the post-mine sand pits soil so that it can be used for plant cultivation. The purpose of this study was to know the influence of organic matters and soil microorganism application on post-mine sand pits soil improvement and chili pepper growth. This study was conducted in Cibiru Bandung (-6.92049471880716, 107.716127309820), from June to October 2020, using Block Randomized Factorial Design two factors and repeated three times. The first factor was organic matters: b0 : control, b1: compost Titonia 15 t ha-1, b2: compost Hyacinth 15 t ha-1, b3: palm shell ash 15 tha-1. The second factor: microbes: m0: control, m1: mix inoculum AMF  10 g polybag-1, m2 : mix inoculum PSB 10 ml polybag-1 , m3 : mixture of AMF and PSB. The results showed that hyacinth 15 t ha-1 given with FMA or PSB increased soil moisture. The application of organic matters and microbes decreased water stable aggregates. Hyacinth and PSB lower the temperature of the soil. The application of organic matters and microorganisms has not had an effect in increasing the growth of chili pepper plants but influences the physical properties of the post-mine sand pit  soil.
