Abstract

This paper aims to analyze Indonesia's diplomatic efforts in promoting Indonesian as the official language of ASEAN. To achieve this goal, the author describes Indonesia's leadership in ASEAN which has been accepted as a natural leader. The author also describes the possibility and position of Indonesian as the official language in ASEAN. The method used is a qualitative method while the findings of this study are that Indonesian has the potential to become an international language, for this purpose it is necessary for all levels of society to realize this dream, starting from strengthening in the country such as revitalization and diplomatic efforts that are not only carried out by diplomats, but with the various innovations and technologies currently available, every society needs to be an agent of language internationalization whose hopes will raise the image of the Indonesian nation in the international world which will ultimately affect the Indonesian nation as a whole.

Abstract

This paper analyzes the impact caused by the COVID-19 pandemic on the Belt and Road Initiative which is part of the Peaceful Rise policy implemented by the Chinese State by conducting literature studies using the perspective of neoliberalism as the basis for analysis. The literature we use in this research ranges from books, journals, to electronic media with qualitative and quantitative data. By considering the findings obtained, we reveal the impact of this pandemic on the factors that influence the progress of China's Peaceful Rise policy and more specifically the Belt and Road Initiative policy. The conclusion we got was that the Belt and Road Initiative, which is China's effort to apply the principle of neoliberalism, has experienced problems in allocating funds, as well as a reduction in the overall workforce.

Abstract

Seoul Metropolitan City is one of the metropolitan cities in South Korea, which able to perceive its interest with self-government in international activities. Seoul Metropolitan City government has implemented paradiplomacy to develop its creative economy which is limited to aspects of music, drama, and fashion. This article uses qualitative methods with literature studies to support the required data. This article also seeks to describe the paradiplomacy carried out by the Seoul Metropolitan City government with self-government in a unitary state with a literature review covering transgovernmentalism, foreign relations, paradiplomacy, and creative economy. Besides, the authors also argue that the Seoul Metropolitan City government could optimize its potential with policies or actions taken by the Seoul Metropolitan City government on the aspects of music, drama, and fashion towards the global public.
