Abstract

The study of geometry knowledge is an important component of high school mathematics. Plane geometry is the main thread that runs through high school geometry knowledge. Vector learning is the focus and difficulty of plane geometry. When students encounter a new knowledge, it will be difficult to overcome it, and it is difficult to form a new logical system in their minds. Therefore, when students learn the content of vectors, they will have cognitive conflicts at different levels of thinking. The calculation from planar geometry to directed line segments needs a transition. It is difficult to understand the concept and nature of vectors without the help of teachers. This study attempts to guide the application of Geogebra software in teaching plane vector by using Van Hill Theory to intuitively display abstract geometric knowledge, and guide students to perform dynamic operations and deductive reasoning , Gradually help students transition from point to surface to vector operation, improve classroom teaching efficiency, and thereby optimize geometry teaching, in order to provide some reference for front-line teachers.

Sampling techniques through saturated sampling is applied to obtain students who will be examined throughbout the fifth grade of SDN 147 Pekanbaru. The research data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative analysis. The results showed that elementary students misconceptions could be categorized as “medium” with an average of 54,29% or totaling 76 students from 140 students studied. The bighest misconception on the concept spring force with a misconception of 75% or a total of 105 students from 140 students studied. The lowest misconception on the concept of the influence of force on the motion of objects with a misconception of 19,29% or a total of  27 students from 140 students studied. Comparison of the percentage of misconceptions of male and female students on the concepts of force and motion included in “medium category”, with an average percentage of misconceptions that occur in male students by 51,56%  and female students by 51,31%. The factors causing the occurrence of misconceptions in students come from students, the context and teaching methods. Keywords: misconceptions, the force and motion, elementary studentsABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan miskonsepsi siswa sekolah dasar pada materi gaya dan gerak. Abstract

Abstract

Mathematics’ National examination is conducted annually in all countries. Including Indonesia and China. but there are only a few researchers who make observations about the difficulty of the national exams in each country. There is not even a paper comparing the national exams in 2 countries. So in this study, This article compares the comprehensive difficulty of the Nanjing and Nanning test mathematics’ National examination questions from the five difficulty factors of background factors, cognitive level, reasoning ability, calculation level, and knowledge content. The method in this research is a mix method, using qualitative and quantitative for maximum data analysis results. The results show that, in terms of background factors, the test questions of Nanning paper The comprehensive difficulty is higher than that of the Nanjing paper. In the other four factors, the comprehensive difficulty of the Nanjing paper is slightly higher than that of the Nanning paper. The comprehensive difficulty coefficient of the two sets of test papers is slightly larger in terms of the calculation level and the cognitive level. The set of test papers basically maintains a balance of difficulty in the five factors. Based on the results of the research.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an evaluation tool to evaluate the overall logical reasoning core literacy skill and understand the differences in logical reasoning skills between students of different classes and genders. The quality of the developed evaluation tool is tested and optimized based on the Rasch model. The measured sample data are processed and analyzed by winsteps software and SPSS software. 122 senior three students from different classes were evaluated by the developed logical reasoning literacy level evaluation tool with good reliability and validity. It was found that the overall logical reasoning skills of senior high school students was concentrated in Level II, and some students could reach Level III; there are obvious differences in the level of logical reasoning skills between the experimental class and the ordinary class. The overall level of the experimental class is higher than that of the ordinary class; there is little difference in the distribution of male and female at the low level, but compared with male, female' literacy Level Is obviously limited after reaching a certain level, so it is difficult to break through and rise to the third level.

Abstract

STEAM education that is under ICT has become an upsurge in the international education of research and practice. Due to this, there is a wide application of information technology that has a profound impact to mathematics education. Based on the multiple representation of mathematics, this research aims to test the effectiveness of Hawgent dynamic mathematic software in teaching mathematics to primary students. The sample of this study are all the primary students in Bandung and this research uses the test and non-test method. The test method is a quantitative test to know the students’ mathematical understanding ability when using Hawgent and traditional teaching method. The data collected from the test method would be the post-test scores and the scores are both from the experimental and controlled class. The data will then be process by using SPSS 22 and Microsoft Excel. The data is then analyzed by using the t-test statistic. The result of this study concludes that the students’ understanding ability whose learning are supported by Hawgent are better than whose learning are using the traditional teaching method.

Abstract

Trigonometry is one of the basic of mathematics that is taught in high school. Students always thinks that trigonometry is a hard theory and this research aims to overcome the students’ problems by using VBA learning media base on the 6-question cognitive theory. This research will use the experiment method with a pre-test and post-test to see the difference on the students’ mathematics understanding ability that uses VBA learning media based on the 6-question cognitive theory and the one that uses traditional teaching method. The result of this research is that there is a difference and an increase in the students’ mathematics understanding ability that uses VBA learning media base on the 6-question cognitive theory compared to the students who uses traditional teaching method.
