Abstract

The Salatiga community is unique than other communities. It lies in the identity they have. Salatiga community had always interacted with the migrants, since the Dutch colonial era. Logically, interactions with migrants will influence the identity of the Salatiga community. In fact, the identity of the Salatiga community still present to this day. Interaction with migrants actually create tolerance. Using a constructivist approach, this paper attempts to construct the identity of Salatiga community. This article using qualitative method with an ethnographic approach to communication. Based on the analysis conducted, as the first place, the construction of Salatiga community identity is the manifestation of Raden Mas Said’s doctrine which emphasizes on togetherness, and accepting others. Secondly, the doctrine of Raden Mas Said become a basic for the emergence of multiculturalism understanding in the lives of the Salatiga community. Thirdly, the identity of the Salatiga community is a symbol of tolerance.

Abstract

MSMEs play a significant role in development. However, the sustainability of MSMEs is often hampered by the limitation the posses and their survival ability of MSME entrepreneurs is increasingly being tested when a crisis occurs. Asset utilization is one of the strategies needed by MSME entrepreneurs to maintain the sustainability of their livelihoods. This paper uses a qualitative approach to elaborate the survival strategy of garment MSME entrepreneurs in Tingkir Lor, Salatiga City to face of the COVID-19 pandemic. The results of our study shows that the garment MSME entrepreneurs in Tingkir Lor being studied were able to survive by innovating products and marketing and operating the business as usual. Although the garment business conditions tend to be safe, given the characteristics of the pandemic, which is difficult to predict its end, the livelihoods of garment MSME entrepreneurs in Tingkir Lor remain in a vulnerable situation. Long-term Innovations are still needed by MSME entrepreneurs to be able to anticipate changes due to the pandemic.Abstrak dalam Bahasa Indonesia. UMKM memainkan peranan yang cukup signifikan dalam pembangunan. Namun keberlanjutan UMKM sering terhambat oleh keterbatasan yang dimiliki dan kemampuan bertahan pengusaha UMKM semakin diuji ketika krisis terjadi. Pemanfaatan aset merupakan salah satu strategi yang dibutuhkan oleh pengusaha UMKM untuk mempertahankan keberlanjutan mata pencaharian mereka. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa strategi bertahan yang dilakukan oleh pengusaha konveksi menghadapi krisis di masa pandemi COVID-19. Pada tulisan ini penulis menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif konstruktifis melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam dan studi dokumen untuk mengelaborasi strategi bertahan pengusaha  konveksi di Tingkir Lor, Kota Salatiga dalam menghadapi pandemi COVID-19. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisa dengan analisa tematik melalui pengelompokan berdasarkan tema-tema yang kemudian dilakukan sintesa. Hasil penelitian kami menunjukkan bahwa pengusaha konveksi di Tingkir Lor yang diteliti mampu bertahan, baik yang melakukan inovasi produk dan pemasaran ataupun yang tidak melakukan inovasi.  Walaupun kondisi usaha konveksi cenderung aman, melihat karakteristik pandemi yang sulit diprediksi kapan berakhirnya, keberlanjutan mata pencaharian pengusaha konveksi di Tingkir Lor tetap dalam situasi rentan. Inovasi-inovasi yang sifatnya jangka panjang tetap dibutuhkan oleh pengusaha UMKM untuk dapat  mengantisipasi perubahan-perubahan akibat pandemi.

Abstract

The automotive industry plays a significant role in the Indonesian economy. However, the automotive industry is one of the manufacturing sectors most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. PT. Sun Star Motor Banyumanik also experienced a drastic decline in sales of up to 60% in May 2020. As a result, the company terminated 20 employees, and a reduction of 25% of the total monthly salary was also applied to employees who were still employed maintained. This paper aims to analyze the financial coping strategies carried out by employees in dealing with the domestic financial crisis during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this paper, the author uses a constructive qualitative approach through observation, in-depth interviews, and document studies to elaborate on the financial coping strategies of PT. Sun Star Motor Banyumanik in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. The data collected were analyzed by thematic analysis through grouping based on themes which were then synthesized. The results of our research show that the employees studied were able to survive by carrying out financial copings are income diversification with running a side business, saving expenses, and delaying credit payments. Employees still need long-term innovations to be able to anticipate changes due to the pandemic

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi bentuk adaptasi Nelayan di pulau Liki terhadap dampak perubahan iklim. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Dampak Perubahan Iklim yang terjadi di pulau Liki dapat dilihat dari fenomena abrasi pantai, banjir, gelombang pasang dan angin kencang. Persepsi nelayan setempat mengenai perubahan iklim adalah sulitnya membaca tanda-tanda alam (angin dan arus laut), hal ini mengakibatkan turunnya pendapatan rumah tangga. Untuk mengatasi dampak perubahan iklim, nelayan di pulau Liki melakukan strategi adaptasi yang terdiri dari diversifikasi sumber pendapatan, diversifikasi alat tangkap dan migrasi.
