Abstract

Citizen participation in collect and distribute information increase the role of the citizen involvement in local issues and increasing the benefits of society for the government and the environment. The contribution of citizens can be useful in helping to deal with environment problems and assist certain parties in meeting data needs, this is commonly referred to as citizen science. In its development, citizen science involvement in providing information began to involve social media as a platform for sharing information. In this study we try to explore citizen science of Indonesia, we conduct case study exploring how citizen in Indonesia used social media such as Twitter in response to one of the country’s worst disaster in 2018 namely Lombok Earthquake. By analyzing these user generate message we may know what the response of Indonesian citizen during event and understand more about citizen science in Indonesia through social media including its role and contribution. The information also may assist local communities in obtaining up-to-date information, providing assistance according to needs of the populace and use to manage and plan disaster relief both during and after the event.

Abstract

Di era revolusi Industri 4.0, desain grafis memiliki peran penting dalam dunia modern. Dunia Pendidikan tak terlepas dari pengaruh visual untuk pembelajaran. Guru berperan penting untuk membuat media pembelajaran yang inovatif dan kreatif, sehingga berdampak dalam mempersiapkan siswa menghadapi tantangan global. Salah satu aplikasi berbasis desain grafis untuk tujuan tersebut adalah Canva. Tujuan dari program pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PkM) ini adalah melatih kemampuan guru MGMP Matematika untuk mengimplementasikan Canva dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran interaktif. Program ini dilaksanakan secara tatap muka. Target program ini adalah 21 guru anggota MGMP Matematika SMA Kabupaten Hulu Sungai Tengah. Pelaksanaan pelatihan pada 18 Mei 2022 di SMA Negeri 8 Barabai. Kegiatan ini menghasilkan luaran berupa modul praktikum Canva yang digunakan oleh peserta selama kegiatan pelatihan. Pelaksanaan program PkM ini dilaksanakan melalui beberapa tahapan, antara lain (1) tahap persiapan: melakukan sosialisasi dan pendataan peserta pelatihan, menyiapkan modul dan administrasi di lokasi kegiatan PkM ini, (2) tahap pelaksanaan pelatihan: dengan metode demonstrasi, praktik, diskus dan tanya jawab, (3) tahap akhir: dengan pelaporan kegiatan dan publikasi karya ilmiah. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan kuesioner. Berdasarkan hasil perolehan data dan hasil proyek yang telah dikerjakan peserta, menunjukkan bahwa Canva mudah untuk digunakan dan 73,3% peserta berencana untuk menerapkan aplikasi Canva untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran interaktif di kelasnya. Dengan demikian, kegiatan pelatihan diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan dan kreativitas guru dalam mengembangkan media ajar untuk peningkatan efektivitas dan kualitas pembelajaran di kelas.In the era of the Industrial revolution 4.0, graphic design has an important role in the modern world. The world of education is inseparable from visual influences for learning. Teachers play an important role in creating innovative and creative learning media so that they have an impact on preparing students to face global challenges. One of the graphic design-based applications for this purpose is Canva. The purpose of this community service program was to train the ability of Mathematics MGMP teachers to implement Canva in developing interactive learning media. This program was implemented face-to-face. The target of this program was 21 teachers who were members of the Mathematics MGMP of SMA Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency. Implementation of the training on May 18, 2022, at SMA Negeri 8 Barabai. This activity resulted in output in the form of a Canva practicum module that was used by the participants during the training activities. The implementation of this community service program was carried out through several stages, including (1) the preparation stage: conducting socialization and data collection of training participants, preparing modules and administration at the location of this community service program, (2) training implementation stage: with demonstration, practice, discussion and question methods responsibility, (3) the final stage: with reporting activities and publication of scientific papers. Data collection techniques with questionnaires. Based on the data acquisition results and the projects that participants had carried out, it showed that Canva was easy to use, and 73.3% of participants plan to implement the Canva application to develop interactive learning media in their classrooms. Thus, training activities were expected to increase the ability and creativity of teachers in developing teaching media to increase the effectiveness and quality of learning in the classroom.

Abstract

Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan para guru melalui pelatihan penyusunan bahan presentasi interaktif menggunakan aplikasi Mentimeter. Kegiatan pelatihan ini dilaksanakan secara tatap muka selama 8 jam pelajaran kepada 35 peserta. Peserta merupakan guru mata pelajaran di SMA Negeri 1 Tanjung, Kabupaten Tabalong, Kalimantan Selatan. Pelatihan dimulai dengan pengenalan dan penyamaan persepsi tentang media pembelajaran interaktif, dilanjutkan latihan dan petunjuk teknis penggunaan Mentimeter dengan metode presentasi disertai ceramah, dan membuat media presentasi interaktif menggunakan Mentimeter. Pelatihan diakhiri dengan pengisian kuesioner oleh peserta melalui Google Form untuk mengetahui feedback dari peserta. Berdasarkan hasil pekerjaan peserta dan survey menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas peserta memahami penggunaan Mentimeter, dan sebagian besar peserta akan menerapkan Mentimeter untuk menunjang pembelajaran di kelas.The purpose of this program (PkM) is to improve the skills of teachers through training in preparing interactive presentation materials using the Mentimeter. This training activity was conducted face-to-face for 8 hours with 35 participants. Participants are subject teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Tanjung, Kabupaten Tabalong, Kalimantan Selatan. The training begins with an introduction and alignment of perceptions about interactive learning media, followed by practice and technical instructions for using Mentimeter with presentation methods accompanied by lectures and developing interactive presentation media using Mentimeter. The training ends with participants filling out a questionnaire through Google Forms to collect feedback. Based on the participant’s work and survey results, most participants understood the use of Mentimeter, and most plan to apply Mentimeter to support learning in the classroom.
