Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini diarahkan pada kajian teks wacana pariwisata dengan pendekatan analisis wacana. Permasalahan yang dikaji adalah aspek kebahasaan pembangun kepaduan teks wacana berupa kohesi gramatikal referensi persona pada teks pariwisata di laman pesonaindonesia.kompas.com. Tujuannya adalah untuk mendeskripsikan aspek kebahasaan kohesi gramatikal referensi persona pada teks pariwisata dalam media digital yang hasilnya dapat dipakai sebagai salah satu dasar merespons tuntutan kualitas strategi komunikasi promosi yang kreatif.  Penelitian ini berjenis kualitatif deskriptif dalam linguistik. Sumber data berasal dari situs/laman pesonaindonesia.kompas.combulan Januari—Oktober 2019. Data berwujud teks wacana pariwisata. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode simak. Data dianalisis dengan metode agih dengan teknik ganti. Kajian ini menemukan pendayagunaan referensi pronominal persona yang difungsikan untuk membangun teks wacana yang khas dari teks pariwisata secara koheren. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teks pariwisata menggunakan aspek-aspek gramatikal kohesi referensi persona pertama, kedua, ataupun ketiga. Referensi persona kedua mendominasi dalam teks pariwisata di laman pesonaindonesia.kompas.com. guna menciptakan keutuhan dan kepaduan wacana. Lebih lanjut, pemilihan referensi persona tersebut ditujukan untuk mendekatkan diri dengan pembaca dan terkandung implikasi persuasif bagi pembaca. Kata kunci: kohesi, referensi persona, teks pariwisata, wacana AbstractThis research is directed at the study of tourism discourse texts with the discourse analysis approach. The problem studied is the linguistic aspects of the building of the discourse text cohesion in the form of grammatical cohesion of persona references in the pariwisa text on the pesonaindonesia.kompas.com page. The aim is to describe the linguistic aspects of grammatical cohesion of references to charms in the tourism text in digital media, the results of which can be used as a basis for responding to the demands of the quality of creative promotional communication strategies. This research is a descriptive qualitative type in linguistics. The data source is from pesonaindonesia.kompas.com website / page from January to October 2019. The data is in the form of a tourism discourse text. The method of data collection is done by referring to the method. Data were analyzed by the method of distribution. The results showed that the tourism text uses grammatical aspects of the first, second, and third persona reference cohesion. The second persona reference dominates in the tourism text on the pesonaindonesia.kompas.com page. in order to create wholeness and cohesiveness of discourse. Furthermore, the selection of the reference persona is intended to get closer to the reader and has persuasive implications for the reader.Keywords: discourse, cohesion, personal pronouns, tourism text

Abstract

This study discusses the expressive speech acts of politeness in the counseling process. The study attempts to 1) identify the sub-types of expressive speech acts and their functions in the counseling process and (2) explain the realization of expressive speech act of politeness strategies in the counseling process. Data for the study were collected using passive participation observation and recording with closed-circuit television (CCTV). Data in this study were analyzed following the goal, heuristic method, and contextual methods. The findings of this study are associated with the stages of the counseling process. First, Building Relationships consists of sub-speech acts; Second, the Problem Identification Stage consists of sub-speech acts; Third, Facilitating Therapeutic Change consists of sub-actions speech act. Based on the findings of the study, praising is the most dominant utterance that always appears in every stage of the counseling process. It shows that the communication that happened in the counseling process is in a close, familial, warm, and comfortable atmosphere. This study demonstrates that language plays a critical role in the process of resolving human problems.

Abstract

The involvement of children with autism in social interaction is mostly at a lower level. It is due to the language obstacles faced by children with autism that become the reason why children with autism tend to violate the cooperative principles in communication. This study aims to demonstrate how children with autism violate Grice’s cooperative principles maxims and what causes it. The Grice’s cooperative principles maxims are the focus of this observation and 5 children with autism were the subjects of this study. The research was done in SLBN Surakarta which is the school for exceptional children in Surakarta. By utilizing the observational approach, the data were collected using recording and transcribing technique. Leech’s heuristic pragmatic analysis method was used to analyze the data. The results showed that 67.65% of utterances spoken by the children with autism violated 1 maxim, 20.59% utterances violated 2 maxims and 3 maxims violation was found in 2.94% utterances. 4 maxims violation was also found indicating that there are 8.82% utterances of the children with autism failed to fulfill cooperative principles. Language and social development problems are considered responsible for the violations well as their disability to stay focus are considered the cause of maxim of relevance become the most violated maxim in this study.

Abstract

This research aimed to find out the cultural meaning of verbal and non-verbal expression represented in the nyaébuh tradition of people in Aeng tong-tong, Saronggi, Sumenep. This research was a qualitative descriptive using an ethnographic method with ethnoscience analysis. Data were obtained from the interview result with two informants of verbal and non-verbal expression. It finds that this tradition in the form of almsgiving whereby the charity is devoted to the deceased in the hope that it can alleviate and erase the sins of the deceased, in addition to which it can increase unity, harmony, family, harmony between people and others. This research can provide the benefits of knowledge about the meaning contained in the tradition of nyaébuh, and it can give the Sumenep community’s insights about the meaning of tradition through verbal and non-verbal language expressions. Besides that, it can share knowledge about the culture and traditions of Madura for each different region.

Abstract

Ada dua tujuan utama yang hendak dicapai dalam penelitian ini, yaitu pertama untuk mendeskripsikan proses morfosintaksis yang difokuskan pada seluk-beluk prefiks resiprokal ki- dalam bahasa Loloda dan tujuan kedua adalah menemukan dasar berkategori sintaksis apa saja yang dapat diimbuhi prefiks resiprokal tersebut tanpa mengabaikan kesesuaian atau harmoni fonologis dalam Bahasa Loloda sebagai anggota kelompok bahasa Halmahera Utara yang wajar dan berterima. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah klausa atau kalimat yang mengandung prefiks resiprokal ki-. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui teknik wawancara dan teknik introspeksi. Data yang terjaring dianalisis secara kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa prefiks resiprokal ki- dapat berpadu dengan verba yang silabe pertamanya mengandung vocal /i/. Ditemukan pula bahwa terdapat lima kategori sintaksis yang dapat berpadu dengan prefiks resipokal tersebut, di antaranya verba, nomina, adjektiva, numerial dan interjeksi. Selain itu, terdapat kekecualian yaitu nomina tokata ‘setan/roh jahat’, loanga ‘bambu’ dan adjektiva modongo ‘takut’ yang silabe pertamanya tidak mengandung vokal /i/, tetapi dapat diimbuhi dengan prefiks resiprokal ki- menjadi kitokata ‘kerasukan setan/roh jahat’, kiloana ‘bambu ambil air’ dan kimodongo yang bermakna ‘menakuti atau ditakuti’.

Abstract

Tulisan ini bermaksud menjelaskan beberapa aspek permasalahan yang terdapat dalam studi Collins (1981) yang berjudul “Preliminary Notes on Proto-West Central Maluku: Buru, Sula, Taliabo, and Ambelau”. Studi tersebut masih bersifat pendahuluan serta masih memanfaatkan data-data dokumentatif hasil ekspedisi yang sifatnya terbatas (beberapa kosa kata dasar). Oleh karena masih bersifat pendahuluan dan secara metodologis hanya memanfaatkan data-data dokumentasi yang sifatnya terbatas, menyisakan beberapa permasalahan. Oleh sebab itu, studi ini lebih bersifat review dan dokumentatif. Hasil telaah menunjukkan bahwa bukti-bukti linguistik tentang keberadaan Kelompok Maluku Tengah Barat yang diajukan Collins (1981) masih dapat dipersoalkan. Di samping itu, bukti linguistik berupa inovasi bersama mengenai relasi kekerabatan bahasa-bahasa Maluku Tengah Barat, baik bukti penyatupisahan Ambelau dengan Buru-Sula-Taliabo serta penyatupisahan Buru dengan Sula-Taliabo masih dipersoalkan. Abstract

This research reviews prophet Muhammad SAW utterances when talking to people who had different paradigms from him. The data used in this research are the conversations of prophet Muhammad to non-moslim in book hadith of Bukhari. This research is qualitative study and to analyze the data is used heuristics method. The result shows that from 34 Rasulullah Muhammad’s speeches against non muslim people are found 3 types of speech acts, those are 16 directive speech acts, 17 assertive and 1 rogative. Moreover the most dominant politeness that arises is negative politeness. It happened because negative politeness is used to protect negative face that was used for a social relationship between speaker and hearer. Furthermore, Off the Record strategy is to be the most dominant in asertive type because a speaker (Prophet Muhammad) used a communication strategy by not stating directive speech directly to the non muslim as the hearer.

Abstract

Impoliteness lately becomes a common habit occurring in people interaction. It is not only revealed at informal, but also formal circumstances. What are the forms and strategies of impoliteness appearing at formal conversations? This question is discussed through this research explanation. This paper is an attempt to investigate the impoliteness implementation uttered by speakers of the “Indonesia Lawyers Club” show—a popular program that presents a dialogue on issues of law and politic. As the consequence, the data sources were conversations uttered by ILC speakers involving impoliteness. This descriptive qualitative study applied the concept of Culpeper (1996) to gain deep comprehending on impoliteness in public usage. The result shows that there were four impoliteness strategies at the show, including bald on record impoliteness, positive impoliteness, negative impoliteness, as well as mock impoliteness.

Abstract

This paper will discuss about compound verbs (V + V) that have perfective aspect meaning. The compound verbs are ~ owaru, ~ oeru, and ~ yamu. The compound verbs will be attached to other verbs which are located in front of it. The aim of this paper is to find out the types of verb that are attached to the compound verbs that have the aspect meaning. Thus, it can be seen the types of verb, do the types include activity, retinal, static, or stative verb. From the structure, it can be seen the differences in the use of the three verbs, and whether they can replace each other. Based on the results and data analysis, it can be concluded that owaru and oeru can be attached to activity verb and those can replace each other. Whereas, yamu verb is only attached to static and negative verb which are natural phenomenon and human emotional verb that cannot replace owaru and oeru verb in a sentence because those are not acceptable.

Abstract

Color is a symbolic expression tool used by humans to translate the intentions and ideas of its users, not exception the color names used in proverbs. This research is a qualitative descriptive which aims to describe the meaning of Madurese proverbs which contain color name elements and their relation to the Madurese life principles. The data of this study are Madura proverbs which contain color name elements. Furthermore, primary data sources come from informants and secondary data sources come from books and internet pages. Data were analyzed using an ethnolinguistic approach with ethnoscience methods. The results showed that 6 Madurese proverbs used the color name elements. The colors are potѐ ‘white’, celleng ‘black’, and konѐng ‘yellow’. Each same color can have a different meaning in each proverb. Besides, the six proverbs that use the color name elements become Madurese life guidelines in running their life, such as having to maintain self-esteem, be humble, avoid abuse of power, keep trying, be a person who has good character, and associate with people who bring benefits. Thus, this research is fundamental because the color is not just a symbol of beauty, but it can show the culture of its users in the form of language expression.
