Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the role of multiple Intelligence on Career Guidance and Counselling Services for Guidance and Counselling Teachers at Vocational High School 1 Klaten. This research uses qualitative research with the type of field research (Field Research). The subjects of this study were all Guidance and Counselling Teachers at Vocational High School 1 Klaten. Data collection techniques in this research are interviews and observations. The data used in this research is descriptive data analysis with the stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results showed that multiple Intelligence plays an essential role in career guidance and counselling services by guidance and counselling teachers at Vocational High School 1 Klaten.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine and examine how student career perceptions are handled by students related to the environmental impact, talents, and COVID-19 circumstances on career services at State Vocational School 3 Klaten. This study uses a qualitative approach. Respondents were students and teachers of Guidance and Counselling at state vocational high school 3 Klaten. The findings indicate that students' career conceptions are connected to the environmental influence, skills, and the COVID-19 settings surrounding career services and that these beliefs favourably affect students' self-development. The findings indicate that the results of interviews with students regarding factors influencing their perceptions of career counselling and career development, including talents, promising career planning with parental support and the impact of the environment, career exploration, career development, and support from learning facilities during the COVID-19.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk membantu guru Bimbingan dan Konseling mengembangkan kemampuan dalam mengatasi kecemasan karier akibat pandemi covid-19. Mitra dalam pengabdian ini adalah guru Bimbingan dan Konseling yang tergabung dalam musyawarah guru bimbingan dan konseling (MGBK) SMK Jawa Tengah sejumlah 158 Guru. Pelaksanaan kegiatan bersifat daring yang dilakukan selama 2 hari. Hari pertama kegiatan menghadirkan pemateri sedangkan hari kedua pengerjaan tes dan pembahasan oleh fasilitator. Hasil kegiatan adalah terdapat peningkatan berdasarkan hasil pretest dan posttest sebesar 14.9%. Hal ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan dan pemahaman dalam mengatasi kecemasan karier setelah mengikuti webinar.Abstract: This community service aims to help Guidance and Counseling teachers develop skills in overcoming career anxiety due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Partners in this service are Guidance and Counseling teachers who are members of the Guidance and Counseling Teacher Consultation (MGBK) of Central Java Vocational High School with a total of 158 teachers. The implementation of online activities carried out for 2 days. The first day of the activity brought presenters, while the second day of testing and discussion by the facilitator. The result of the activity is that there is an increase based on the results of the pretest and posttest of 14.9%. This indicates an increase in ability and understanding in overcoming career anxiety after attending the webinar.

Abstract

Teachers of guidance and counseling play a significant role in the process ofevaluating students' potential. Basically, assessing students' potential plays asignificant part in assisting them in achieving their full potential in four areas:personal, social, academic, and professional. In actuality, there are still a numberof issues with assessing students' potential, one of which is the teacher's stilllimited capacity to record and map student potential data. At the Klaten DistrictVocational High School, 40 Guidance and Counseling teachers received trainingon the Individual Potential information system (SIMPOSIDU), which enabled theteachers to systematically and comprehensively record student potential data. Theinformation is personal, social, educational, and other. The service makes itsimpler for teachers to map data about future pupils so they can assist kids inproblem-solving in accordance with their potential.

Abstract

Perencanaan karier yang matang adalah salah satu strategi untuk meningkatkan peluang mendapatkan pekerjaan yang sesuai dengan minat dan kemampuan. Kajian ini menggunakan teknik analisis konten terhadap sejumlah artikel yang telah dipublikasikan pada jurnal di Indonesia sejak tahun 2015 hingga 2021 dengan perencanaan karier sebagai fokus utama kajian. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan data tren penelitian perencanaan karier di Indonesia serta mengkaji variabel-variabel yang terkait dengan penelitian perencanaan karier. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, ditemukan temuan bahwa terjadi peningkatan tren penelitian perencanaan karier, meski kemudian sempat terjadi penurunan dikarenakan efek pandemi Covid-19. Di antara publikasi tersebut, desain penelitian yang paling dominan adalah kuantitatif dengan siswa SMA sederajat yang paling banyak menjadi subyek penelitian. Sehubungan dengan temuan penelitian ini, beberapa rekomendasi telah diajukan untuk penelitian mendatang yang mendasari perencanaan karier sebagai fokus utama. Beberapa rekomendasi tersebut antara lain pemilihan metode penelitian, serta subyek penelitian pada siswa SMP, mahasiswa dan karyawan.

Abstract

Abstract: This research examines the influence of peer groups in determining student career life. By using a quantitative approach, we aim to investigate the role of peer groups in Generation Z’s career exploration to respond to work transitions. The subjects of this study were 72 vocational high school students. Data collection was carried out using the Peer Group and Career Exploration scales which were developed by adapting the Likert scale. Our analysis results suggested that peer groups carry 57 percent effects on the participants’ career exploration of students. In addition, the results of the Pearson correlation test also showed a 0.755 correlation coefficient between the peer group and career exploration, indicating a strong correlation between the peer group and career exploration. Therefore, the higher peer group support increases the students’ career exploration abilities and vice versa. The influence of the peer group on career exploration ability is classified into a strong category. Abstrak: Penelitian ini mengenai peran teman sebaya (peer group) dalam menentukan kehidupan karier siswa. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran peer group terhadap eksplorasi karier generasi Z dalam merespon transisi kerja pada peserta didik. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 72 siswa SMK. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan skala Peer Group dan Eksplorasi Karier yang dikembangkan dengan mengadaptasi skala model Likert. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa peran peer group dalam eksplorasi karier peserta didik sebesar 57 persen. Selain itu, hasil uji korelasi pearson diperoleh nilai koefisien korelasi antara peer group dengan eksplorasi karier sebesar 0,755. Angka ini menunjukkan korelasi yang kuat antara peer group dan eksplorasi karier. Hal itu berarti semakin tinggi dukungan teman sebaya (peer group) maka akan semakin tinggi pula kemampuan eksplorasi karier peserta didik, begitu pula sebaliknya. Besar pengaruh peer group terhadap kemampuan eksplorasi karier termasuk dalam kategori kuat.

Abstract

This study delves deeply into the intricate association between perceived gender roles and career selection among students in the twelfth grade at MAN 2 Bantul. It utilizes a sophisticated correlational research design to draw precise and nuanced conclusions about the intricate dynamics between these two constructs. The analytic method employed was a product-moment correlation, which robustly demonstrated the existence of a significant and strong positive relationship between gender perceptions and career choices. The study also unearthed an intricate web of influential factors, with social support from family, teachers, and peers being pivotal in shaping students' career decision-making trajectories. Additionally, our findings provide substantial evidence suggesting a negative correlation between perceived parental and teacher support and the complexity of career decision-making. Conversely, we observed a positive correlation between the frequency of classmate and close friend social support and career decision-making difficulties. This research enhances our understanding of gender as a socially constructed concept deeply entwined with cultural roles, shaping the trajectory of career choices. It also underscores the profound influence of societal norms and perceptions regarding gender roles on students' career preferences. This influence signifies the necessity of further research into the subtle ways these perceptions may shape or restrict career aspirations. It is evident that guidance and counseling services have a pivotal role in helping students navigate the often complex and challenging landscape of career decisions. They are also instrumental in providing students with the necessary understanding to identify and challenge prevailing gender perceptions that may inadvertently impact their career decisions. Therefore, the results obtained from this research highlight the pressing need for an educational environment that is both cognizant and inclusive of the various gender perceptions in existence and their potential impacts on career decisions. This is crucial in ensuring informed guidance, fostering student self-efficacy, and empowering students in their journey of selecting and navigating their respective career paths effectively.

Abstract

Peserta didik pada tingkat Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) merupakan remaja dimana pada masa remaja ini mulai menentukan pilihan karier. Dalam proses pemilihan karier ini tentu banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi baik itu faktor internal dan faktor eksternal. Salah satu faktor eksternal ialah parental support atau dukungan orang tua. Dalam proses pemilihan karier, orang tua sangat berperan penting, sehingga jika peserta didik memiliki dukungan yang baik maka akan mempermudah dalam menentukan pilihan karier, namun sebaliknya jika peserta didik tidak mendapatkan dukungan orang tua maka akan menyebabkan peserta didik mengalami kegalauan dan kebingungan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pandangan peserta didik terkait parental support terhadap pemilihan karier di SMK N 1 Semanu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Subjek dari peneliitian ini ialah 3 peserta didik kelas XII SMKN 1 Semanu. Metode pengumpulan data ini menggunakan wawancara dan studi dokumentasi yang telah dibuat. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu reduksi data, data display, dan conclusion drawing atau verification. Dalam melakukan keabsahan data, peneliti menggunakan triangulasi data. Hasil dari penelitian ini ialah 3 peserta didik mendapatkan parental support atau dukungan orang tua terhadap pemilihan karier, baik untuk bekerja maupun untuk melanjutkan kuliah
