Abstract

Lately, the concept of the methodology of interpreting the texts of the Qur’an is not only struggling from the history of the Companions and the Tabi'in but in understanding the Word of God it is necessary to have dialectics with the interpretation of the text with the term hermeneutics. Some contemporary interpretations make a new study of the Qur’an using the hermeneutic approach. Specifically, this paper seeks to contribute to providing concepts related to hermeneutics as a textual interpretation methodology. There are some things that are very urgent to be studied in this discussion, including, First, hermeneutics as a dialectic of text interpretation. Second, the methodology of the hermeneutic approach in understanding texts. Third, the application of hermeneutics as a text interpretation. Thus, the concept of hermeneutics in the texts is to find the Qur'anic values ​​contextually behind the meaning of the text of the verse.

Abstract

This paper explains the hadith in an Orientalist perspective. His study of the hadith in his book is known as the projecting back theory which states that, the hadith did not originate from the Prophet but the pathway of narratives made by the companions arbitrarily after the 2nd century Hijri. Specifically, this study aims to analyze the parts that are considered as important points including: First, the basic concept of projecting back theory. Second, the analysis of the Schacht methodology against the Sunnah. Third. trace the path of the Schacht transmission in the theory of Comon Link. Fourth, the contribution of Muslim thought to maintain the authenticity of a hadith. Related to hadith criticism done by Joseph Schact, then what is needed in this study is the literature study approach to trace the theory through the results of the analysis of various references used as reference material to find out the extent of hadith criticism made by the Orientalist who is skeptical about the authenticity of a hadith. So that in the conclusion of the hadith is not the Prophet Qaul but the results projected by the companions.

Abstract

Pendekatan hermeneutika dalam lintas pemikiran kontemporer kerap kali dijadikan sebagai acuan ketika memahami teks al-Qur’an dan Hadis. Hermeneutika berfungsi sebagai alat untuk memproduksi pemahaman dan metodologi yang paling populer untuk memahami teks secara kontekstual dan struktural dengan baik. Fokus penelitian ini akan memetakan pemahaman secara signifikan melalui teori hermeneutika hadis ulama kontemporer yaitu Sa’duddin al-Ustmani dalam kitabnya “al-Manhaj al-Wasth fi al-Ta‘amul ma‘a al-Sunnah al-Nabawiyyah”. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pemahaman metodologis melalui teori hermeneutika hadis yang menghasilkan tiga aspek penting dalam memahami sunnah nabawiyyah yaitu: pertama, tasarruf dalam masalah agama yang disampaikan oleh Rasul. Kedua, tasarruf dalam agama yang di-ijtihadi Nabi ini bukanlah wahyu dan terkadang Nabi salah dalam hal ini tetapi tidak berlanjut dalam kesalahanya melainkan biasanya ada wahyu yang membenarkan. Wahyu yang membenarkan ini terkadang berupa al-Qur’an terkadang juga bukan al-Qur’an. Ketiga, tasarrufat dalam urusan dunia. Asumsi dasar penulis yaitu menguraikan pemikiran ulama kontemporer Sa’duddin al-Ustmani dalam kitabnya “al-Manhaj al-Wasth fi al-Ta‘amul ma‘a al-Sunnah al-Nabawiyyah”, yang mana kitab ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman secara pertengahan dalam memahami sunnah nabawiyyah tersebut. The hermeneutic approach in contemporary thought is often used as a reference when understanding the text of the Qur’an and Hadith. Hermeneutics serves as a tool for producing understanding and the most well-known methodology for understanding texts contextually and structurally well. The focus of this research will be to map understanding significantly through the hermeneutic theory of the hadiths of contemporary scholars, namely Sa’duddin al-Ustmani in his book “al-Manhaj al-Wasth fi al-Ta‘amul ma‘a al-Sunnah al-Nabawiyyah”. This paper aims to explore methodological understanding through the theory of hermeneutic hadith which produces three important aspects in understanding the Sunnah Nabawiyyah, namely: First, tasarruf in religious matters conveyed by the apostle. Second, the tasarruf in the religion that is ijtihadi by the Prophet is the error of revelation and sometimes it is wrong but it does not continue in the error, usually there is revelation that justifies it. The revelation that justifies this is sometimes in the form of al-Qur’an, sometimes it is not al-Qur’an. Third, tasarrufat in world affairs. The basic assumption of the author is to describe the contemporary scholar Sa’duddin al-Ustmani in his book “al-Manhaj al-Wasth fi al-Ta‘amul ma‘a al-Sunnah al-Nabawiyyah”, which aims to provide an intermediate understanding in understanding the sunnah nabawiyyah.
