Abstract

This research investigated the feasibility study on the development of silkworm (ulat sutera) industry. First investigation was conducted on must aspect for demand and supply condition, product price, market share, and marketing strategy. Second, technical aspect includes product capacity, break even point, process technology, location, and lay out. Third, financial aspect was focused on the pay back period, profitability index, internal rate of return, and net present value. Finally, organization and management aspect was analyzed for company's effectivity and efficiency.

Abstract

The development of plantation agro-industry should refer to primary commodity approach. Until now there is no accurate reference for government Kolaka. The diversifications of products and by-product have not developed yet. The objectives of this research were to formulate development strategy of regional potential of the prime plantation agro industry. The object of this research is six primary commodities of plantation; those are cacao, clover, pepper, cashew, coconut, and coffee in Kolaka Regency with Delphi and SWOT methods. The research results showed that the development strategy of regional potential of the prime plantation agro industry there are at quadrant I or that strategy was created by using all the power to take advantage of opportunities that an aggressive strategy by doing independence improvement of the farmers through development and counseling, partnership development on agro-industry activities in the effort of giving additional value of production.

Abstract

CV Agrindo Suprafood as one of the largest suppliers of nata de coco in Yogyakarta is only able to meet 40% of market demand due to the limitations of coconut water. An alternative strategy to tackle this problem is by looking for coconut water substitute as raw material for the production of nata. The purpose of this study was to analyze the potential of cassava and glucose syrup as raw material alternative of nata and its feasibility on an industrial scale . Formulation of nata is performed on a pilot plant scale with cassava and glucose syrup as raw material. Cassava glucose and glucose syrup were separately used as a growth medium of Acetobacter xylinum for the production of nata. The physical, chemical, and sensory evaluation as well as technical and financial feasibility analysis were conducted on the nata product. The best formula for production of nata de cassava and nata de glucose was obtained by a combination of glucose, glucose syrup, coconut water, ZA,vinegar, and acetic acid. Based on the analysis, it was concluded that both of nata production were industrially-feasible in terms of both technical and financial analysis. However, based on the financial analysis, nata de glucose was more prospective than nata de cassava.

Abstract

The PKUM scheme service activities for the Iron Pande Industry Group are carried out to improve the quality of production and export-based management. There are dozens of large, medium and small scale iron pande industries in Rejosari Pakis Magelang in Central Java and one of them is a member of the Mijil Karya group. The development of facilities for members of the iron pane industry is aimed at increasing the capacity / productivity and quality of iron pane products and carved bamboo furniture. And to achieve the capacity and quality of local content-based iron products and with local and national market share (exports), the service team prepares work steps or service activities including deepening company management management, especially in the flow of materials or goods and finance, deepening of improvements and improvements production units, deepening the improvement and refinement of local and national scale marketing (exports), completing showrooms to support marketing, implementation in partner industries and formulating indicators of success. Forging machine design of hammer system includes, overall machine design, component design, pully calculation, motor power calculation, belt calculation, shaft calculation, clutch calculation, peg calculation, welding strength calculation and flywheel analysis

Abstract

Industri Maju Mulyo merupakan salah satu industri logam berbahan alumunium masih eksis di Kelurahan Tegalrejo Magelang. Keberadaan industri logam berbahan alumunium di Kelurahan Tegalrejo Magelang memberikan potensi yang besar terutama di bidang ekonomi, sosial, pendidikan dan lapangan kerja. Industri perabot rumah tangga berbahan alumunium juga memberikan dukungan pada wisata alam dan agro di daerah lereng gunung Merapi dan Merbabu khususnya wisata alam pegunungan Kopeng dan Ketep. Tantangan produk dengan desain rumit dan ukuran relative besar masih menjadi kendala. Proses pengerjaan produk dengan profil lekukan skala kecil melibatkan beberapa proses meliputi pemanasan awal, penekuk bahan dan pengelasan. Sedangkan proses pengerjaan produk dengan profil lekukan dan ukuran besar secara umum dikerjakan melalui beberapa tahap meliputi pengerolan, pembentukan, pengelasan dan penyelesaian akhir.  Industri Maju Mulyo merupakan industri yang mulai berbenah dan berkembang menuju industri dengan menejemen yang baik dan bersaing secara kompetitif.  Dan tujuan kegiatan penerapan teknologi melalui Program Kemitraan Masyarakat meliputi pelatihan dan konsultasi perancangan dan pengerjaan produk perabot rumah tangga berbahan alumunium, pendalaman, pengoperasian dan perawatan mesin potong plat otomatis. Pemotongan plat secara manual konvensional dilakukan dengan teknik pengoresan dan gunting plat. Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian bagi Kelompok Industri Pande Besi dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kualitas produk pande besi. Ada puluhan industri pande besi baik skala menengah dan kecil di Rejosari Pakis Magelang Jawa Tengah dan salah satunya tergabung di kelompok Mijil Karya. Pengembangan kelengkapan sarana anggota industri pande besi pada pelaksanaan kegiatan diarahkan pada peningkatan kapasitas/produktitas dan kualitas produk pande besi. Dan untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, tim pengabdian menyusun langkah kerja atau kegiatan pengabdian meliputi desain tungku, perbaikan tungku, pelaksanaan di industri mitra. Industri pande besi mempunyai beberapa produksi rutin (selain pesanan) yakni perabot rumah tangga (dandang, panci, tempat lampu, hiasan dinding panci bermotif), senjata (sangkur, pedang, keris, tombak), alat pertanian (pacul, alat bajak), alat industri (pisau masak, sabit, parang dan alat potong lain), kerajinan (lampu, kapal, lambu hias, dan hiasan dinding). Pengerjaan tungku di industri pande besi diawali dengan identifikasi tungku perapian dan renovasi (modifikasi) untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan keselamatan kerja pegawai. Realisasi renovasi tungku dikerjakan dengan satu lubang nyala api, perbaikan dinding luar dan perbaikan cerobong. Selanjutnya realisasi peralatan tangan untuk pengerjaan di pande besi dilengkapi beberapa peralatan meliputi klem  bangku /catok  /ragum, penggores, penitik, mata bor dan mesin bor, gergaji tangan, gunting plat, kikir, palu, mistar baja, tang dan alat solder. Selanjutnya beberapa peralatan digerakkan dengan tenaga mesin meliputi gergaji, bor baik bor tangan dan bor duduk, gerinda potong, gerinda penghalus.
