Abstract

Jati diri bangsa merupakan identitas yang dimiliki oleh suatu bangsa yang menjadi ciri khusus. Jati diri bangsa merupakan suatu kebanggaan bahkan menjadi daya tarik tersendiri yang harus tetap dijaga dan dilestarikan secara turun temurun pada generasi muda penerus bangsa. Jati diri bangsa akan terlihat dalam karakter bangsa yang merupakan perwujudan dari nilai-nilai luhur bangsa. Akan tetapi akhir-akhir ini kita mulai di khawatirkan dengan melemahnya jati diri bangsa dalam masyarakat salah satunya disebabkan oleh dampak negatif berkembangnya ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi yang menyebabkan degradasi moral pada masyarakat. Masyarakat cenderung individualis karena segala sesuatu dapat dilakukan dengan mudah dan tanpa bantuan orang lain yang pada akhirnya melunturkan nilai-nilai sosial yang selama ini berkembang dan berlaku di masyarakat seperti kekeluargaan, gotong royong, dan toleransi. Kearifan lokal sebagai pusaka budaya memiliki peranan penting sebagai inspirasi dalam penguatan jati diri atau identitas bangsa. Penguatan jati diri suatu bangsa menjadi sangat penting pada era globalisasi dengan tujuan agar tidak luntur atau tercabutnya akar budaya yang diwarisi dari para pendahulu ditengah-tengah kecenderungan homogenitas kebudayaan sebagai akibat dari globalisasi. Bangsa Indonesia mewarisi berbagai kekayaan alam, kekayaan hayati dan kekayaan keragaman sosiokultural. Kekayaan ini merupakan modal dasar yang harus di olah untuk kesejahteraan warga indonesia. Kearifan lokal merupakan modal budaya yang harus dikelola dan dikembangkan yang nantinya akan memperkuat identitas ke-indonesiaan. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui metode kualitatif yang dilakukan pada saat perayaan Tradisi Tunggul Wulung dengan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi untuk melihat nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam tradisi tersebut yang dapat memperkuat Jati Diri Bangsa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan diperoleh hasil bahwa dalam Tradisi Tunggul Wulung banyak nilai-nilai sosial sebagai penguat jati diri bangsa, diantaranya adalah kekeluargaan, gotong royong, dan toleransi. Nilai-nilai tersebut terangkum dalam persiapan tradisi hingga pada saat perayaan Tradisi Tunggul Wulung.

Abstract

Abstrak: The spread of Islam in Java has a distinctive pattern, it occurs through acculturation between doctrines of Islam and local wisdom. The acculturation pattern between Islam and Javanese local wisdom has a dialogical form, or occurs by two-way communication between those who want the existence of Javanese culture with the ones who want the implementation of Islamic law. The result is the appearance of a new culture which local people accept and the preachers of Islam can convey the doctrines of Islam as well. This pattern of acculturation also occurred in Pesantren Tegalsari as the oldest pesantren in Java. The theme of Pesantren Tegalsari, especially in the field of cultural acculturation, is interesting to study because many people still do not know about the historical dynamics of this pesantren. Now, Pesantren Tegalsari was better known for the magical stories of The Kiai (religious leaders) of pesantren than pesantren activities in the past. So the study about Pesantren Tegalsari is important to fill empty spaces in local historiography in Indonesia. This paper is the result of qualitative research using an anthropological approach. The results show that acculturation in Pesantren Tegalsari is in three fields: architecture, language, and tradition. The three forms of acculturation were used by The Kiai of Pesantren Tegalsari to spread Islamic teachings so that they could be easily accepted by the people who were still strong with the old beliefs (Hindu-Buddha).الملخص: انتشار الإسلام في جاوى له نمط مختلف، الذي حدث من خلال التثاقف بين العقيدة الإسلامية والحكمة المحلية. النمط التثاقف بين الإسلام والحكمة المحلية الجاوية له شكل حواري، أو حدث من خلال اتصال ثنائي الاتجاه بين أولئك الذين يريدون وجود ثقافة جاوى وأولئك الذين يريدون تطبيق الشريعة الإسلامية. والحاصل ظهور ثقافات جديدة يمكن قبولها من قبل المجتمع المحلي دون إزالة المادة من تعاليم الإسلام. حدث هذا النمط من التثاقف في معهد تيكلساري بصفته أقدم معهد في جاوا الواقعة في بونوروغو. إن موضوع معهد تيكلساري ، خاصة في مجال الثقافات الثقافية ، أمر مثير للدراسة لأن الكثير من المجتمع ما زالوا لا يعرفون عن الديناميات التاريخية لهذا المعهد. خلال هذا الوقت ، كانت معهد تيكلساري مشهور بالقصص السحرية من قادة المعهد. لذا فإن الدراسة عن هذا المعهد مهمة لملء المساحات الفارغة في التاريخ المحلي في إندونيسيا. تستخدم هذه الدراسة طريقة نوعية مع نهج الأنثروبولوجية. أظهرت النتائج أن التثاقف في معهد تيكلساري في ثلاثة مجالات: الهندسة المعمارية واللغة والتقاليد. تم استخدام أشكال التثاقف الثلاثة من قبل قادة المعهد تيكلساري لنشر التعاليم الإسلامية حتى يمكن قبولها بسهولة من قبل المجتمع الذين لم يزالوا قوياً مع المعتقدات القديمة (بوذا-الهندوسي)Abstrak: Penyebaran Islam di Jawa memiliki pola yang khas, yaitu terjadi melalui akulturasi antara ajaran Islam dengan kearifan lokal. Pola akulturasi antara Islam dan kearifan lokal Jawa memiliki bentuk dialogis, atau terjadi melalui komunikasi dua arah antara mereka yang menginginkan eksistensi budaya Jawa dengan orang-orang yang menginginkan penerapan hukum Islam secara kaffah. Hasilnya adalah munculnya budaya baru yang diterima masyarakat setempat tanpa menghilangkan substansi dari ajaran agama Islam. Pola akulturasi ini juga terjadi di Pesantren Tegalsari sebagai pesantren tertua di Jawa yang terletak di Ponorogo. Tema tentang Pesantren Tegalsari, khususnya dalam bidang akulturasi budaya, menarik untuk dikaji karena banyak masyarakat yang masih belum mengetahui tentang dinamika historis dari pesantren ini. Selama ini Pesantren Tegalsari lebih dikenal karena kisah-kisah magis dari para kiai pimpinan pesantren daripada aktivitas pesantren di masa lalu. Maka tulisan tentang Pesantren Tegalsari menjadi penting untuk mengisi ruang-ruang kosong dalam historiografi lokal di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan antropologis. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa akulturasi di Pesantren Tegalsari terjadi dalam tiga bidang: arsitektur, bahasa, dan tradisi. Ketiga bentuk akulturasi digunakan oleh para kiai pimpinan Pesantren Tegalsari untuk menyebarkan ajaran Islam agar dapat diterima dengan mudah oleh masyarakat sekitar yang masih kuat dengan kepercayaan lama (Hindu-Buddha)

Abstract

Sonaf Bikomi-Sanak merupakan salah satu wujud hasil kebudayaan yang dimiliki oleh masyarakat  Maslete yang bertahan hingga saat ini. Arsitektur rumah adat  Sonaf Bikomi-Sanak dikatakan sebagai salah satu arsitektur tradisional sebab bentuknya ditularkan secara turun temurun dari generasi ke generasi, sebagaimana bentuk  arsitektur bangunannya sangat melekat dengan situasi masyarakat Maslete dan lingkungan sekitarnya. Di era globalisasi yang ditandai dengan perkembangan teknologi tidak menuntut masyarakat Maslete untuk merubah bentuk bangunan arsitektur rumah adatnya tetapi justru masyarakat tetap mempertahankan keaslian arsitektur bangunan rumah adat Sonaf Bikomi-Sanak. Abstract

The evaluation of teachers’ performance is getting crucial to find out the degree of their professionalism. The education institution has to be able to figure out what factors may influence the teachers’ performance. The analysis result will be useful in developing their human resources in an optimum way which is very needed to promote the education’s quality. They need certain attention from the government and people. As the matter of fact above, the government has regulated the enhancement of educators’ quality or teachers in national perspective through the law No 20 in the year of 2003 about national education system. It is still done conventionally which has a big effect on their professionalism. This research has a purpose to set up an application of teacher performance evaluation in order to gain their performance and professionalism. It is used a method namely research and development consisting of 10 steps which are modified to result on teacher performance evaluation in line with teachers’ professionalism improvement.  The final result of development comes to the application teacher performance evaluation with computer based containing evaluation components such as; personality, pedagogy, professional, social and the overall score which enables to Improve teachers’ professionalism at the maximum point. The research result shows that the developed application has completed the feasibility requirements to be used as an application system of teacher performance evaluation process. It can be seen from the data of material expert with the average score of 4,4 as categorized very good. While the media expert validation shows the score of 4,5 with the category of very good.  According to the assessor shows that this teacher performance evaluation coming to score of 4,6 with the category of very good. At the effectiveness test, it shows that the average score of experiment class which is 82,9178 is higher compared with control class at the average score of 61, 26363.

Abstract

Language is an important way of communicating with the people. Sometimes, the people in another place may feel difficult to understand what the meaning when they are talking with others. The way to catch and understand meaning is by translating it. Translation is the process of moving meaning from one language into another language. This research aims to explain the quality of translation of Garuda Magazine from English into Indonesian. The analysis concern on accuracy, clarity/clearness and naturalness of translation of Garuda Magazine from English into Indonesian. The research method uses qualitative descriptive and the type of research is content analysis. This research takes the segment “Welcome on Board” page 12 on Garuda Magazine in term November 2008 as source of data. The result of the research shows that 3 data (15,79 %) are less accurate translation and 84, 21% or 16 sentences out of 19 sentences are accurate; 3 data (15,79 %) are less clear translation and 84, 21% or 16 sentences out of 19 sentences are clear; 5, 26 % or 1 sentence out of 19 sentences is unnatural, 36, 84 % or 7 sentences out of 19 sentences are less natural and 57, 90 % or 11 sentences out of 19 sentences are natural

Abstract

Translation is the process of moving meaning from one language into another language. This research aims to explain the translation quality pretest of students from English into Indonesian. Pretest is the activity to know the student ability before teaching activity are given. This translation quality concern on accuracy, clarity/readibility and acceptability. This research method using qualitative descriptive approach with document analysis technique. The document analyzed is translation pretest on ten student of sixth semester Department of English Teaching Universitas PGRI Madiun. The result of this research shows that 42 data (28%) are high accuracy, 46 data (30,66%) are medium accuracy and 62 data (41,33%) are low accuracy; 47 data (31,33%) are high readibility, 48 data (32%) are medium readibility and 55 data (36,66%) are low readibility; 29 data (19,33%) high acceptability, 42 data (28%) are medium acceptability and 79 data (52,66%) are low acceptability.

Abstract

Learning History in the Curriculum as a whole emphasizes the importance of collective memory so that inhibits the growth of critical reasoning in the Student. This review covers an alternative approach in teaching history subjects applied in senior high school. The use of the concept of critical questions and emancipatory models of "ways of knowing" by Juergen Habermas is a strategy taken by teachers in teaching history lessons that can arouse the critical awareness of student. In-depth research is done by qualitative method to know the activity of teachers and learners thoroughly at the time of learning about the history of Shaykh Ahmad Mutamakkin and the settlement of his case stipulated in the Kajen manuscript and Cebolek manuscript as enrichment of the material history Mataram Islamic Kingdom. The results showed that during the learning prose took place the teacher has succeeded in creating the creation of the process of emancipation in the students themselves. Abstract

Tulisan ini berupaya mengumandangkan kembali warisan pemikiran Sartono Kartodirdjo sebagai kerangka filosofi pendidikan sejarah (philosophical  framework of history education) dan historigrafi sekolah (school historiography). Metode peninjauan dilakukan dengan pembacaan terhadap tulisan dan karya Sartono Kartodirdjo untuk mengungkap logika narasi (narrative logic) yang dikembangkannya untuk menarasikan sejarah Indonesia. Berdasarkan pembacaan karya Sartono Kartodirdjo, peneliti menggaris bawahi pendekatan gerak sejarah integratif berperspektif multidimensional sebagai jalan tengah bagi kontestasi filosofi Pendidikan sejarah di Indonesia. Melalui pendekatan ini setidaknya dua arah landasan filosofis Pendidikan sejarah yaitu penguatan kebangsaan dan tuntutan pengembangan pengetahuan kesejarahan bagi masyarakat Indonesia dapat disejajarkan secara proporsional dalam ruang Pendidikan Sejarah. Dalam konteks pendidikan sejarah di era Society 5.0, gagasan gerak sejarah integratif dan perspektif multidimensional tersebut dapat menjadi landasan filosofis dan arah pembelajaran sejarah yang memberikan ruang seimbang bagi penguatan identitas nasional dan kemampuan berfikir ilmiah peserta didik.Kata kunci: Pendidikan Sejarah, Sartono Kartodirdjo, filosofi pendidikanThis paper seeks to reiterate the legacy of Sartono Kartodirdjo's thought as a philosophical framework of historical education (philosophical framework of history education) and school history (school historiography). The review method was carried out by reading the writings and works of Sartono Kartodirdjo to reveal the narrative logic he developed to narrate the history of Indonesia. Based on the reading of Sartono Kartodirdjo's work, the researcher underlined the multidimensional perspective of integrative historical motion approaches as a middle ground for the contestation of the philosophy of historical education in Indonesia. Through this approach, at least two directions of the philosophical foundation of historical education, namely the strengthening of nationality and the demand for thedevelopment of historical knowledge for the Indonesian people, can be aligned proportionally in the Historical Education space. In the context of history education for Society 5.0, the concept of integrative historical movement can be a philosophical foundation that lead future direction of history learning to give an equal opportunity to strengten the national identity as well as the scientific thinking skills of the students.Keywords: Historical Education, Sartono Kartodirdjo, Philosophy of Education

Abstract

This article tries to analysis political strategy at the time of islamzation in 16th to 19th century. This analysis use political theory, it’s descending and ascending of power. By supporting of the Saints, it’s possible for Jin Bun (Raden Patah) built the Kingdom of Demak, and by supporting not only spread of islamization, but also reinforced political and social structure. Implication of that Islam was possible running embraces in Demak society. Conversion from Hindu to Islam could be investigation by language symbolism, for instance, the title of Ngabdurrahman Sayidin Panatagama Khalifatullah. Although the Kingdom of Demak had been collapsed, but islamization processes moved to Pajang and than to the Palace of Mataram. Furthermore Sultanate of Mataram, Sultan Agung, introduceda new strategy for spread of islamization in Java, that were: (1) palace as center ofIslamization, and (2) Islam center points of Javanese culture. The new strategy were continued of political strategy of the Saints. In the other side, Sultan Agung  supported the Saints to built pesantren or madrasah (local boarding school) that had been a grassroots political legitimation. And a grassroot power based on values of solidarity or ashabiyyah.

Abstract

This article discusses about assessment of the constructivism approach in history learning with Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA). CDA provides a set of in-depth analysis method which includes the realm of linguistic, social, and cultural. The CDA is composed of three stages of a dynamic analysis and related to each other: (1) analysis of the text, (2) analysis of the practice of discourse, and (3) analysis of social practices. In the context of history learning with constructivism approach, the third stages can be used to assess the development of the system and the structure of the thinking of learners. CDA approach can be used to analyse the work of learners with description test. Therefore, the necessary rubric based on assessment rubrics and discourse analysis of the level of development of thinking learners. Based on the research results, the CDA can be used in learning history, specifically with constructivism approach. Assessment of history learning with constructivism approach is expected to be an alternative assessment of learning that not only assess student knowledge of quantity, but also to measure the development of the system and the structure of the thinking of learners.
