Abstract

The wound is an injury to the part of the body where the skin and underlying tissues lose its tissue continuity. Lemongrass is one of the grass plants that often used as a medicine that can function as an antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant that can affect the wound healing process. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of lemongrass extract (Cymbopogon citratus) on wound healing in white mice. This research is true experimental research with a post-test only control group design. This research used 25 white mice divided into 5 groups: 30% lemongrass extract, 60% lemongrass extract, 80% lemongrass extract, negative control (Aquades) and positive control (Bioplacenton). The grouping of subjects was carried out randomly. Normality test using the Shapiro Wilk test shows the p-value in each group > 0.05, it can be concluded that the data distribution is normal. Levene's Test homogeneity test was obtained p-value = 0.730 (p> 0.05), thus the data variant is homogeneous. The results of the analysis with One-Way ANOVA test showed p-value = 0.881 (p > 0.05). There was no difference in the effectiveness of lemongrass extract (Cymbopogon citratus) 30%, 60%, and 80% compared to negative control groups and positive control of wound healing in white mice. However, wound healing in the 60% lemongrass extract group was faster and total wound healing had occurred on the 14th day. Wound healing is slowest in the 80% lemongrass extract group.

A student with high physical activity was 112 (64.4%), sleep pattern in the good category as much as 98 (56.3%), and students with emotional stress in the low category were 120 (69.0%). More than half of students (89.1%) have poor sleep quality. The bivariate analysis showed that the factors that affect sleep quality were sleep patterns (p-value = 0.019) and emotional stress (p-value = 0.021). Student physical activity was not statistically affected sleep quality (p-value = 0.519). The sleep quality of medical students of Halu Oleo university were affected by sleep patterns and emotional stress.

Abstract

Phlebitis is one of the nosocomial infections related to invasive procedures. One of the most common invasive procedures in hospitals is infusion therapy. Phlebitis can cause thrombosis, which if continued, can lead to death. Purpose: The aims of this study were to determine the factors that affect the incidence of phlebitis nosocomial infection in the general hospital of Muna regency. The study design was using quantitative research with a cross-sectional study. The sample of this study was 60 inpatients who got infusion therapy and met the inclusion criteria. The sampling technique was using Proportional Random Sampling. Data were collected by direct observation method and data analysis was using a chi-square statistical test with a confident interval of 95% (alpha = 0.05). The median age of respondents was 37 (range 20 – 50) years and 31 (51.7%%) of the respondents were females. The respondent that have duration infusion less than or equal to 3 days were 39 (65%), respondent with one type of intravenous fluid was 55 (91.7%), a respondent who received antibiotic or Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAID) injection therapy was 38 (63.3%), and as many as 20 (33.3%) respondents experienced phlebitis infection. The bivariate analysis showed that the factors that affect the incidence of phlebitis nosocomial infection were duration of infusion (p-value = 0.000), amount of intravenous fluids (p-value = 0.038), and injection therapy (p-value = 0.014). The duration of infusion, amount of intravenous fluid, and injection therapy affect the incidence of phlebitis nosocomial infection in the general hospital of Muna regency.

Abstract

The Indonesian government has made various efforts to prevent and control COVID-19. Implementing the new normal after the COVID-19 pandemic has encouraged people to do activities as before, with the obligation to implement strict health protocols. However, the incidence of COVID-19 in Indonesia continues to increase, as is Konawe Regency as the district with the first positive case report of COVID-19 in Southeast Sulawesi and currently has six sub-districts with red zone status. This is because many people are not aware of carrying out the government's appeal in implementing health protocols. This community service aims to increase public knowledge in efforts to control COVID-19 by applying health protocols. Educational activities carried out online through online media include video conferencing in the form of a webinar through Google Meet was attended by 86 participants, live streaming on social media Facebook and Instagram, broadcasting educational videos on local TV channels, and conducting offline activities in the form of installing educational posters. Education through online media is one of the uses of internet technology, and its reach is wide and can be a solution for education during the COVID-19 pandemic. The analysis results show that education through online media effectively increases public knowledge regarding COVID-19 and the application of health protocols in the normal new era.
