<![CDATA[The river community reflected by the Banjar tribe becomes an inherent image due to its natural conditions which are very close to the river. Boat is the suitable transportation tool to support daily activities. However, recently people have started to switch from land transportation on boat sales. The research focuses on the social capital of boat producers in maintaining their existence, especially in the city of Banjarmasin. This study used a social capital approach and descriptive qualitative research methods. The data collection techniques during the study used in-depth interviews and open-ended questions with key informants, field observations and documentation. This study used data analysis in the form of data reduction and triangulation. The results of this study found that boat craftsmen can still produce in the midst of land transportation competition due to social capital through three aspects; First, there is trust that is currently still maintained, between owners and workers as owners and owners; Second, the existence of values/ norms that are still existed among craftsmen such as the form of mutual cooperation that still exists with the local term "mengulur"; Third, the social network still strong between craftsmen and outside parties such as raw materials suppliers and consumers. This study recommends that the regional government of Barito Kuala pay more attention and facilitate the various needs of boat craftsmen.]]>
