Abstract

The development of science, technology and art influence on economic and social development of society. The rapid economic growth in Indonesia is still a profit-oriented bussines. The attitude of caring and awareness about the environment tend to be ignored by the employers even do not inserted and properly evaluated in the education curriculum in Indonesia. Attitudes towards environmental awareness needs to be instilled as early as possible to the students and evaluated particularly well in chemistry learning where has direct contact with the environment. The concept of sustainable development issued by the United Nations (UN) could be one of the solution to develop economic with environmental way and can be inserted into chemistry learning process. Sustainable development concept has three main domains are environmental, economic and social. There are several models and strategies of learning where has sustainable development orientation, are: experiental learning, project-based learning, values and character-based learning, inquiry learning, and others. The indicators of the students who have environmental awareness, are: 1) to know and be aware of issues and environmental issues, 2) have a perception and awareness of the issues and problems of the environment, and 3) have confidence in solving environmental problems and contribute to environmental improvement. Writing this article aims to outline the concept of sustainable development in learning chemistry so that it can be a reference for improving students' environmental awareness. This article will examine several issues, are: the concept of sustainable development, learning chemistry for sustainable development, sustainable development-oriented learning models and indicators of environmental awareness. Through this article, educators and stake holders are expected to be able to insert and apply the concept of sustainable development in the learning process chemistry to enhance students' environmental awareness.

Abstract

Abstrak:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar berorientasi environmental sustainability education berintegrasi kearifan lokal Mbojo untuk meningkatkan literasi sains mahasiswa kimia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model pengembangan diadaptasi dari model Dick & Carey menjadi empat tahapan dengan subjek coba produk pada mahasiswa semester 2 STKIP Bima. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu lembar validasi, tes literasi kimia berformat benar-salah beralasan dan lembar penilaian diri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) bahan ajar berorientasi environmental sustainability education berintegrasi kearifan lokal Mbojo yang dikembangkan memiliki karakteristik yang meliputi pengembangan melalui model project based learning pada materi Kimia Karbon dan Peranannya terhadap Lingkungan; dan indikator literasi sains diadaptasi dari aspek competencies dan attitudes pada indikator literasi sains OECD; 2) bahan ajar berorientasi environmental sustainability education berintegrasi kearifan lokal Mbojo yang dikembangkan layak digunakan dengan kategori sangat baik serta efektif untuk meningkatkan literasi sains mahasiswa berdasarkan uji Mann-Whitney U.Abstract:The research aims to reveal the developing teaching material based on environmental sustainability education integrated with Mbojo local wisdom to enhance students’ scientific literacy. The developing model adapted from Dick & Carey and the trial of this research product was conducted to 2nd semester students at chemistry education department of STKIP Bima. The instruments for data collection are validation instrument, a true-false reasoning scientific literacy test and self-assessment. The results of research shows: 1) the features of product research is using project based learning to Hydrocarbon and The Role for Environment topic; and the indicators for scientific literacy test adapted from competencies and attitudes aspects in OECD scientific literacy indicator; 2)chemistry learning tools based on environmental sustainability education integrated with Mbojo local wisdom is valid to use with very good category and effective to enhance scientific literacy based on Mann-Whitney U test results.

Abstract

Abstrak:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan mengetahui kelayakan model pembelajaran karakter berbasis nilai pendidikan karakter dalam membentuk generasi emas Indonesia 2045. Model pengembangan diadaptasi dari model Dick & Carey dengan subjek uji coba produk adalah siswa kelas XI pada beberapa sekolah di Nusa Tenggara Barat. Model pembelajaran karakter diimplementasikan dalam mata pelajaran biologi, kimia dan fisika melalui perangkat pembelajaran yang telah dikembangkan dengan sintaks model pembelajaran karakter. Indikator penilaian karakter diadaptasi dari indikator pendidikan karakter yang dikombinasikan dengan keterampilan abad 21. Instrumen pengumpulan data meliputi penilaian diri dan lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran karakter yang dikembangkan memiliki sintaks: kumpulkan, rembukkan, analisis, komunikasikan dan terapkan. Adapun model pembelajaran karakter berbasis nilai pendidikan karakter yang dikembangkan layak digunakan dengan kategori sangat baik.Abstract:The study aimed to develop and to reveal the appropriate character learning model based on character education values to prepare Indonesian golden generation in 2045. The developing model adapted from Dick & Carey and the product was tested in the 11th grade students of senior high school that located in West Nusa Tenggara. The character learning model was implemented into biology, chemistry and physics subjects by using character learning model syntax in learning tools. The indicators of measuring the characters were adapted from Indonesian golden generation character indicators and 21st century skill indicators. The instrument for data collection included character self-assessment and observation sheets. The result showed that (1) the character learning model which was developed has five syntax namely collecting, discussing, analyzing, communicating and applying; the problem and its solution were focussed on environment, society and economic issue; (2) character learning model based on character education values was valid to use with very good category.

Abstract

National education system aims to produce students who have intact intelligence, be it intellectual intelligence, emotional intelligence, spiritual intelligence and social intelligence. But the facts in the field say differently. Spiritual and social intelligence tends to be overlooked by educators in schools. Therefore, this research was carried out with the aim of producing a science module with an integrated character of Islamic values to improve students' spiritual attitudes or those that meet valid and effective criteria. This type of research is development research that follows the stages of Thiagarajan development which consists of the stages of defining, designing, developing and disseminating. The instruments used were validation sheets and student response questionnaires. Based on the results of limited trials, it can be concluded that the science module with the character of integrated Islamic values meets the criteria of validity and effectiveness. Hopefully the results of this research can be used as a reference in improving the quality of education in Indonesia, especially in Bima City, West Nusa Tenggara Province.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengembangan, kelayakan dan efektifitas SSP kimia berbasis pendidikan berkelanjutan untuk meningkatkan literasi kimia dan kesadaran terhadap lingkungan peserta didik SMA. Model pengembangan diadaptasi dari model Dick Carey dengan subjek coba produk pada peserta didik kelas X SMA Negeri 11 Yogyakarta. Instrumen pengumpulan data meliputi lembar validasi, tes literasi kimia berformat benar-salah beralasan, lembar penilaian diri dan lembar penilaian antar teman terkait kesadaran terhadap lingkungan. SSP kimia divalidasi secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) SSP kimia berbasis pendidikan berkelanjutan yang dikembangkan memiliki karakteristik yang meliputi pengembangan melalui model experiential learning pada materi hidrokarbon dan indikator literasi kimia maupun kesadaran terhadap lingkungan diadaptasi dari framework PISA 2015; serta (2) SSP kimia yang dikembangkan layak digunakan dengan kategori sangat baik serta efektif untuk meningkatkan literasi kimia dan kesadaran terhadap lingkungan peserta didik SMA berdasarkan uji Kruskal-Wallis.Kata Kunci: SSP, pendidikan berkelanjutan, experiential learning, literasi kimia, kesadaran terhadap lingkungan Developing a Chemistry Subject Specific Pedagogy Based on Sustainability Education to Enhance Chemical Literacy and Environmental Awareness AbstractThe study aims to reveal the developing, the appropriateness and the effectiveness of a chemistry subject specific pedagogy based on sustainability education to enhance chemical literacy and environmental awareness of senior high school students. Developing model adapted from Dick Carey and the trial of this research product was conducted at SMA Negeri 11 Yogyakarta grade 10th students. The instruments for data collection included validation instrument, a true-false reasoning chemical literacy test, environmental awareness self assessment and peer assessment. The product was validated as qualitative and quatitative validation. The results of research shows: (1) the features of chemistry subject specific pedagogy based on sustainability education is using experiential learning was taught to hydrocarbons and the indicators for chemical literacy test and environmental awareness adapted from framework PISA 2015; and (2) the chemistry subject specific pedagogy based on sustainability education is valid to use with very good category and effective to enhance chemical literacy and environmental awareness based on Kruskal-Wallis test.Keywords: subject specific pedagogy, sustainability education, experiential learning, chemical literacy, environmental awareness.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop islamic education learning tools based on e-learning that valid, practical and effective to use. The type of research is research and development by adopting the Thiagarajan development model, which consists of 4 stages, namely defining, designing, developing and disseminating. The research instruments used in this study were validation sheets and learning outcomes tests using the Jamboard application. Analysis of the data used in this study (1) By conducting a feasibility analysis on the e-learning learning module, Student Activity Sheet (LKM) and student learning outcomes tests. Based on the results of the validation, the overall learning tools in the form of e-learning modules for Islamic religious subjects, LKM and learning outcomes tests are generally declared valid. The details of the module validation scores are generally very valid (M = 3.62), the LKM is generally declared valid (3.31) and the learning outcomes test is declared to be (M = 3.43). (2) conducting trials on e-learning and LKM learning modules. The learning tools developed can be said to be valid because the development process is based on a strong theoretical rationale and has internal consistency so that the teaching materials have high reliability and consistency, so that it can be used to enhance students’s digital literacy.

Abstract

The curriculum of 2013 places spiritual attitudes as the first competencies from core competencies and social attitudes as the second. This indicates that a spiritual and social attitude is needed to survive in the 21st century. Therefore, this study was held with the aim to develop science teaching materials with integrated character of the Qur'anic verses that valid and effective criteria. The type of research that used in this research is adapted from Thiagarajan’s developing model which focused on defining, designing, and developing stages. The instruments used are validation sheets for expert judgement and student response questionnaires to collect spiritual character of the students. Based on the results of the study, the science teaching materials with Islamic character interpretations meet the valid criteria with the validity of RPP = 3.37, modules = 3.23 and LKS = 3.51. Meanwhile, based on the results of limited trials, it can be concluded that the students' responses to science teaching materials with integrated character of the Qur’anic verse are in the positive and very positive category.

Abstract

Indikator merupakan zat yang dapat memberikan warna yang berbeda apabila direaksikan dengan larutan asam atau basa. Indikator sangat dibutuhkan dalam pembelajaran kimia, salah satu materi kimia yang membutuhkan penggunaan indikator adalah materi eksperimen asam-basa. Salah satu sumber bahan alami yang memliki potensi untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan indikator asam basa adalah daun jati muda, dimana daun jati muda mengandung unsur tanin dan pigmen antosianin yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebgaai pewarna alami. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis pelarut terhadap warna ekstrak daun jati muda serta warna kertas indikator setelah diuji. Pelarut yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah etanol 96%, metanol 95% dan air. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis pelarut yang digunakan dalam proses ekstraksi mempengaruhi warna ekstrak dan warna kertas indikator, pelarut etanol 96% dan metanol 95% menghasilkan warna kertas lebih kontras dalam mebedakan larutan asam maupun basa yaitu warna coklat pada larutan asam dan hitam pada larutan basa.

Abstract

Kulit bawang merah (Allium cepa) merupakan salah satu limbah rumah tangga maupun limbah perindustrian yang jarang dimanfaatkan. kulit bawang merah memiliki pigmen warna merah yang berasal dari antosianin. Pigmen tersebut dapat mengalami perubahan warna pada perubahan keasamannya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui ekstrak kulit bawang merah dapat digunakan sebagai indikator asam basa. Ekstraksi kulit bawang merah dilakukan dengan metode maserasi. hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa kulit bawang merah yang di ekstrak menggunakan pelarut etanol dengan kosentrasi 10% menghasilkan warna merah gelap, warna merah terang pada kosentrasi 30%, warna merah bata pada kosentrasi 50%, dan pada kosentrasi 70% menghasilkan warna merah maron yang lebih pekat, dan berwarna merah tua pada kosentrasi 90%. Kosentrasi optimum pelarut etanol yang didapat adalah kosentrasi 70% dengan nilai absorbansi 3.430 dan warna yang dihasilkan adalah warna merah maron yang lebih pekat.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang pengaruh model pembelajaran inquiry terbimbing terhadap pemahaman konsep kimia siswa di MAN 2 Kota Bima tahun pelajaran 2019/2020. Tujuan utama penelitian adalah apakah ada pengaruh model pembelajaran inquiry terbimbing terhadap pemahaman konsep kimia siswa di MAN 2 Kota Bima tahun pelajaran 2019/2020. Popoulasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas X IPA . sedangkan sampelnya kelas X IPA1 sebagai kelas kontrol dan X IPA2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan jumlah siswa 45 orang dan X IPA2 sebagai kelas kontrol dengan jumlah siswa 45 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini berupa tes (pretest dan posttest ). Untuk mengetahui tingkat kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji Mann Whitney U dengan bantuan SPSS versi 16. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data bahwa nilai rata-rata siswa kelas eksperimen adalah 89,67 sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 84,51. Perbandingan antara kedua nilai rata-rata tersebut terlihat jelas bahwa nillai rata-rata tersebut terlihat jelas bahwa nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen jauh lebih besar dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil data yang dihitung dengan menggunakan uji Mann Whitney U dengan bantuan SPSS versi 16 dengan taraf signifikasi < 0,05 H0 ditolak sebaliknya jika nilai Asymp. Sig. > 0,05, maka Ha diterima dengan nilai signifikan Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar -,557. Maka dapat disimpulkan dalam penelitian ini terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran inquiry terbimbing terhadap pemahaman konsep kimia siswa di MAN 2 Kota Bima.
