Abstract

Auditory stimulation is one of non-pharmacological pain management that can be done in premature babies by playing music or mother's voice with an acceptable to the baby (50-60 dB). This study aimed to analyze the effect of giving music therapy and mother’s voice theraphy in controlling the pain response of premature babies while undergoing an invasive procedure. The research design used in this study was a quasi-experimental research with pre and posttest one group design, purposive sampling used in this study, involving 43 premature babies in a Samarinda Hospital. Observation checklist was further used for data collection. Based on the paired t-test, it obtained a sig-value of 0.000 (p <0.05) with a difference of 5.535 (95% CI 4.682 - 6.388) for music theraphy and sig-value of 0.000 with a difference of 5.860 (95% CI 5.204 - 6,517) showing a sig value <0.05 for mother's voice during the invasive procedure. The analysis showed that there were significant differences before and after giving auditory stimulation of the mother's voice during an invasive procedure.

Abstract

A nursing care standard is a model that outlines the desired level of excellence for nursing services provided to the patient. The goal of this study was to see if there was a link between nurses' performance in providing nursing care and the quality of nursing services provided at RSIA Qurrata A'yun Samarinda. The study employed descriptive correlation research in conjunction with a cross-sectional survey design. In this study, the sample consisted of inpatients at RSIA Qurrata A'yun Samarinda, with 62 respondents meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The sample was drawn using a complete random sampling approach.Using a questionnaire as a data collection tool The frequency distribution was calculated using univariate analysis, and the hypotheses were evaluated using bivariate analysis using the Somers'd test. The validity testing was conducted for 30 hospitalized patients at RSIA Aisyiyah Samarinda from August 30 to October 7, 2019. The Cronbach alpha value for the nurse performance questionnaire was 0.716 in a reliability test. The Cronbach alpha value for the quality of nursing service was 0.849, and analysis using the Somers'd test resulted in a p-value of 0.001 a 0.05, meaning that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, with a correlation value of 0.349, having the least correlation. As a source of information and tools for guiding nurses' performance in practicing nurses in the context of improving nursing service quality and reaching the highest level of patient satisfaction.

Method: In this study, out of 1540 studies from the PubMed, Wiley, Science Direct, and Google Scholars, 7 articles included in the study analysis. The articles explored about fathers’ role and involvement in nutrition management with the children cancer patients (<18 yrs old) were included. Review, study reports, and articles related to the nutrition management in adult cancer patients have been excluded. Results: Majority articles showed a helpful connection between support and fathers' roles in children's nutrition to promote recovery and therapy development for pediatric cancer patients. Two themes emerged from the study; (1) Father’s Role in Recognizing the Nutrition Problems related to the Cancer (2) Father’s Support in Fulfilling Nutrition. Conclusion: Fathers' support for their children's cancer might improve their quality of life. The rigid relationship between children and fathers may also enhance children's appetite, increasing the chances of curing cancer in children.
