Abstract

Yellowfin tuna (Thunnus albacares) has long been captured by commercial fishery in Makassar Strait using purse seine, trolling line and handline fisheries. It was probably it can cause over exploitation and decrease population structure for that fish. This study aimed to analyze the size structure of yellowfin tuna based on the positions of deep and shallow sea FADs (fish aggregating devices). The data consisted of fish length and weight ) and the size of gonad maturation, which were collected from the field observation . The data were analyzed using histogram graph and t- test. The results indicated that the fish length caught in the deep and shallow sea FADs ranged from 30 to120 cm with the average of 101.39 ± 2.49 cm, and from 105 to 170 cm with the average of 134.90 ± 1.90, respectively. The fish weight ranged from 20 to75 kg for deep sea FADs and ranged from 0.4 to 35 kg for shallow sea FADs. The first stage of gonad maturation on either female or male occurred at 118.88 cm forklength, where the smallest spawning size on  female  was 126.10 cm forklength.

Abstract

Biological performance of skipjack tuna has been done in the Flores Sea during the  southeast monsoon (June - August, 2013).  The objective of the research was to analyze biological performance of skipjack tuna captured by purse seine: including size composition,age classes, growth rate, food habit, gonad maturity and suitable length for capture.  The data for length structure and age class, the growth rate,  food habit, gonad maturity,  and volumetric fecundity estimation were analyzed using Bhattacharya, Von Bertalanffy, propendance index, histological and volumentric methods, respectively. The results showed that (1) the size structure and age class were different according to the fishing ground location and the fishing season, (2) the average size of fishes captured in the western part of Flores Sea was greater than the eastern one, (3) the average length of fishes catched by purse seine without fish aggregation device (FAD, rumpon) was longer than  that of with FAD, (4) the growth rate of skipjack tuna was slow where the growth coefficient was less than 0,5 per year, and the asymptotic length was 106,0 cm FL, (5) the skipjack tuna achieved the mature stage at 45 cm and  at 50 cm length for female and male, respectively, and ready to spawn at 55 cm and 60 cm for male and female , respectively, (6) it was more than 80 % of fishes captured by fishermen in the Flores Sea which were not yet suitable size for fishing.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari - April 2015 dengan tujuan untuk melihat sebaran  temporal  dan  spasial  suhu  permukaan laut di perairan selatan Laut Halmahera dan pengaruhnya terhadap hasil  tangkapan ikan yellowfin tuna, dengan menggunakan data lapangan dan data citra yang dianalisis dengan analisis deskriptif, statistik dan analisis sistim informasi geografis (SIG) sehingga hasil penelitian yang didapat adalah sebaran suhu permukaan laut (SPL) dan klorofil-a serta hubungannya terhadap hasil tangkapan yellowfin tuna.  Citra satelit bulan Februari-April 2015 menunjukan bahwa sebaran suhu permukaan laut (SPL) di perairan Laut Halmahera pada bulan februari dan maret hampir sama yakni pada kisaran 29,0-31,5oC, sedangkan suhu permukaan laut bulan april lebih tinggi dari kedua bulan sebelumnya. Untuk klorofil-a juga mengalami fluktuasi dengan nilai sebaran klorofil-a tertinggi terdapat pada bulan Maret 2015.  Hasil analisis statistik menunjukan bahwa baik secara bersama-sama maupun secara individu kedua parameter oseanografi (SPL dan klorofil-a) berpengaruh nyata terhadap hasil tangkapan yellowfin tuna di Laut Halmahera bagian selatan.

Abstract

Dinamika populasi ikan cakalang (Katsuwonus pelamis, Linnaeus) di perairan Selat Makassar yang merupakan bagian Wilayah Pengelolaan Perikanan Republik Indonesia 713 (WPP RI 713) di Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan dan Barat telah dilakukan dengan mengumpulkan sampel sejumlah 20.707 ekor ikan cakalang yang tertangkap dengan alat tangkap purse sSeine dan hand line di Kabupaten Barru dan Majene.  Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada bulan Mei – Oktober 2014 di sentra pendaratan ikan.  Ukuran frekuensi panjang cagak diukur dan menduga parameter panjang cagak asimtot (L∞), koefisien pertumbuhan (K), koefisien kematian total (Z), koefisien kematian alami (M), koefisien kematian penangkapan (F), laju eksploitasi (E) dan potensi hasil tangkapan per rekrut relatif (Y’/R) dengan menggunakan alat bantu perangkat lunak FISAT-II.  Hasil dugaan parameter pertumbuhan von Bertalanffy  dengan metode Response Surface pada ELEFAN-I yaitu L∞ =  107,0 cm dan  K = 0,8 per tahun.   Laju mortalitas total diduga dengan menggunakan analisis kurva hasil tangkapan yaitu Z = 4,47 per tahun.  Kematian  alami diduga dengan rumus empiris Pauly diperoleh nilai dugaan M = 1,1 per tahun.  Kematian karena penangkapan (F) sebesar 3,37 per tahun memberikan hasil dugaan laju eksploitasi (E) sebesar 0,75.  Dugaan model hasil-per-rekruit relatif Beverton dan Holt menunjukkan bahwa tingkat eksploitasi telah memperlihatkan lebih tangkap sebesar 26,5% dari nilai E-optimumnya.

Abstract

This study aims to identify main facilities and determine the level of the main facilities utilization of Birea fish landing base, Pa'jukukang District, Bantaeng Regency. The research was conducted from May to July 2020. The method used in this research is a case study. Primary data was consisting of the length of the pier, the distance between ships, the length of time to moor, the length of the breakwater and the length of the trip, and the size and number of ships anchored, were collected through direct observation in the field. Meanwhile, secondary data such as catch production data, development of the number and types of fishing units, the size of the port pool area, and the depth of the waters were taken through the interviews method. The utilization rate of the main facilities utilization of Berea fish landing base are a pier utilization rate of 90.5%, a port pool of 72.5%, a land port 86%, and two meters of water depth are required. Based on the research results, it is found that the long pier is still possible to accommodate ships that are anchored, while the port pool and portland still meet the requirements, however, dredging is necessary for dredging the depth of the waters for shipping in and out of ships. Abstract

“Bagan Perahu” is one of fishing gears that are operated in the waters of Selayar Archipelago District. There are two kinds of “Bagan Perahu” i.e bagan with one boat and with two boats. Bagan with one boat is large than Bagan with two boats. Productivity of two- boat bagan is smaller than that of the one boat bagan, therefore the idea was arose to increase catches of the two-boat bagan by increasing the number of lamps, however those lamps would be mounted on the raft instead of on the Bagan. During operations the light raft would be drifted by currents away from bagan and left it for several hours in order to allow it attracted the fish. Before hauling the net of Bagan light raft would be pulled back to the bagan and after it close enough then the lights would be turned off so that fish which was originally collected by light raft would move to the bagan.In order to be able to test the idea, this Community Service Activity was made by making a light raft and then taught to the communities how to operate it to the “Bagan” in Selayar Islands Regency.

Abstract

Ikan tuna madidihang di perairan Majene telah dimanfaatkan oleh nelayan sejak lama dengan menggunakan alat tangkap pukat cincin dan pancing ulur sehingga diduga telah terjadi pemanfaatan berlebihan dan penurunan populasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis struktur ukuran tuna madidihang menurut waktu dan kedalaman.  Data yang digunakan berupa data primer seperti ukuran ikan, waktu penangkapan dan kedalaman (panjang tali pancing ulur). Data primer diperoleh melalui pengukuran langsung di lapangan.  Data dianalisis secara deskriptif melalui perbandingan histogram dan uji t – student serta ANOVA. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa (1) Struktur ukuran (panjang dan bobot) ikan Tuna Madidihang yang tertangkap berdasarkan waktu harian pada waktu pagi dan sore hari tidak berbeda, (2) Struktur ukuran (panjang dan bobot) ikan Tuna Madidihang, yang tertangkap di sore hari lebih luas dibanding yang tertangkap di pagi hari, (3) Struktur ukuran (panjang dan bobot) ikan Tuna Madidihang berdasarkan waktu bulanan berbeda nyata antara yang tertangkap pada sore hari dengan pagi hari, (4) Pada kedalaman 30-40 m ikan-ikan yang tertangkap pada umumnya berukuran 25-145 cm, sedangkan yang tertangkap ≥ 50 m pada umumnya adalah ukuran layak tangkap (minimal sudah pernah mijah sekali dengan ukuran yang lebih besar. Kata kunci : Tuna madidihang, struktur ukuran, waktu penangkapan, kedalaman, pancing ulur, Selat Makassar Yellowfin in the waters of Majene has long been used by fishermen using purse seine and handline fishing gear that are estimated to have occurred over exploitation and population decline. This study aims to analyze the structure of yellowfin size according to time and depth. The data used in the form of primary data such as fish size, time of fishing and depth (length line of handline). Primary data was obtained through direct measurements in the field. Data were analyzed descriptively by comparing histograms and t-test - Student and ANOVA. The results of the study explained that (1) Structure size (length and weight) of fish caught yellowfin based on the time of day in the morning and the afternoon is no different, (2) Structure size (length and weight) yellowfin, which is caught in the afternoon higher than that captured in the morning, (3) Structure size (length and weight) yellowfin significantly different based on a monthly time between being caught in the afternoon to the morning, (4) at a depth of 30-40 m fish caught on generally measure 25-145 cm, while the captured ≥ 50 m in general is catching decent size (ever spawn) with a larger size. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis daerah penangkapan ikan terbang dan untuk mengetahui pola pergerakan ikan terbang di Perairan Utara Majene, Selat Makassar. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di wilayah perairan Majene, Selat Makassar, pada bulan Oktober 2016 sampai dengan Maret 2017, dengan mengikuti operasi penangkapan gill net ikan terbang di Kelurahan Mosso, Kecamatan Sendana, Kabupaten Majene. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey dengan cara mengikuti secara langsung operasi penangkapan ikan terbang. Data yang dikumpulkan yaitu posisi penangkapan, data oseanografi lapangan dan hasil tangkapan. Data citra satelit SPL diperoleh dari citra satelit yang didonwload dari database osean color. Hasil tangkapan dianalisis hubungannya dengan oseanografi lapangan dalam persamaan regresi serta analisis pola migrasi ikan menggunakan peta di ArcGis. Faktor oseanografi yang mempengaruhi distribusi ikan terbang secara nyata adalah suhu, salinitas dan kedalaman perairan. Daerah potensial penangkapan ikan terbang di Perairan Majene berada pada posisi 3O 10’00” – 3O 30’ 0” LS dan 118O 30’ 00” - 119O 0’ 00” BT dan dipengaruhi nyata oleh suhu, salinitas dan kedalaman. Namun, yang lebih berpengaruh terhadap distribusi ikan terbang yaitu suhu permukaan laut. Pola pergerakan ikan terbang lebih cenderung bergerak kearah bagian barat dalam satu bulan penangkapan dengan pergerakan mengikuti arah jarum jam dilokasi penelitian. Kata kunci: Daerah penangkapan, pola pergerakan, oseanografi, ikan terbang, Perairan Majene

Abstract

Flores Sea is one of the most potential tuna fishing grounds in Indonesia. However, the information about potential stock, distribution and abundance of tuna in that area is little known. The objectives of this study were to estimate the Total Allowable Catch (TAC) and to map the potential pelagic fishing zones for tuna dominated by yellowfin tuna in the Flores Sea. Firstly, the Maximum Sustainable Yield (MSY) was estimated using Surplus Production Model and then the TAC was calculated using the 80% of the MSY. The six years’ time series data (2008-2013) of catch and fishing effort data were used for this study. Secondly, satellite images of sea surface temperature (SPL) and chlorophyll-a together with catch data were used to map out the potential predicted area based on the level of probability of their preferred oceanographic ranges for the period of October-December 2013. Results indicated that the exploitation rate for tuna was approximately 55% of the TAC (44 % of MSY level) on average during the last 6 years. The Potential predicted fishing zones for tuna well formed in December, and mostly occurred in the surrounding waters of the Selayar main island and from the areas of south western Jampea, Kayuadi, and Tarupa Islands to the north eastern area of the Flores Sea. These results were consistent with the empirical data. As a result, to exploit tuna resources optimally at the TAC level, this study recommended that the fishermen utilize the potential fishing zones defined by the preferred area of both SST and chlorophyll-a. These findings suggested that the potential fishing zone maps constructed from satellite images provided important information to locate spatially and temporally potential tuna fishing zones in the Flores Sea. Abstrak Laut Flores merupakan salah satu daerah potensial penangkapan tuna di Indonesia, namun informasi potensi, distribusi dan kelimpahannya belum banyak diketahui. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengestimasi potensi sumber daya ikan tuna yang dinyatakan dalam jumlah tangkapan yang diperbolehkan (JTB) dan memetakan zona potensi penangkapan ikan (ZPPI) tuna tersebut (didominasi oleh ikan tuna madidihang) di Perairan Laut Flores. Analisis dikembangkan dalam dua tahap, pertama mengestimasi hasil tangkapan maksimum lestari (MSY) dan JTB menggunakan enam tahun data time series produksi dan upaya penangkapan (2008-2013), dan kedua, data satelit suhu permukaan laut (SPL) dan klorofil-a digunakan untuk memetakan ZPPI tuna berdasarkan tingkat probabilitas kesesuaian faktor oseanografi terha-dap kelimpahan ikan tuna pada periode musim puncak Oktober-Desember 2013. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pemanfaatan sumber daya ikan tuna di Laut Flores adalah 55% dari JTB atau 44% dari MSY berdasarkan pro-duksi rata-rata enam tahun terakhir. Formasi ZPPI tuna paling produktif ditemukan pada bulan Desember di sekitar per-airan Selayar dan dari perairan barat daya Pulau Jampea, Kayuadi, Tarupa hingga ke timur laut Laut Flores. Hasil pre-diksi ZPPI ini konsisten dengan data lapangan. Untuk mengeksploitasi potensi tuna secara optimal di Laut Flores pada level JTB, nelayan diharapkan beroperasi pada ruang dan waktu yang tepat di ZPPI tersebut. Penelitian ini menyajikan informasi spasial dan temporal tentang lokasi ZPPI tuna yang divisualisasi dari data satelit untuk mendeteksi keberada-an dan kelimpahan ikan tuna pada musim puncak di Laut Flores.

Abstract

Penelitian dimulai dari bulan Januari - Mei 2011 bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara faktor oseanogrfi dan hasil tangkapan yellowfin tuna  di perairan laut Banda.  Data hasil pengamatan dianalisis dengan menggunakan regresi linier berganda untuk melihat pengaruh parameter oseanografi secara bersama-sama dan secara individual terhadap hasil tangkapan  yellowfin tuna. Hasil analisis regresi berganda diketahui bahwa dari lima parameter oseanografi secara bersama-sama berpengaruh nyata terhadap hasil tangkapan yellowfin tuna ini dapat dilihat pada hasil Uji F  dengan nilai signifikansi 0.000 < 0.01, dan Fhitung lebih besar dari Ftabel (8.23 > 2.44), Hasil uji t menunjukan bahwa secara individual terdapat tiga dari lima faktor Oseanografi yang berpengaruh nyata terhadap hasil tangkapan ikan yellowfin tuna, diantaranya suhu permukaan laut (SPL), kedalaman dan kecepatan arus.
