Abstract

The objectives of this research are to study character of A. nilotica includes morphology description, anatomy, and ecology (life cycle, spreading and seed production in BNP, stand structure, soil condition, and association of species). Research method used to know cycle life, spreading and seed production in BNP and the done conducted stand structure with direct perception in field. Produce seed used a square method having a nest counted 10 squares by using plastic. Obtained stand structure data with model is Permanent Square for the width of 20 x 20 m of counted 15 squares and at each square measured by a diameter and high counted 10 trees. Analysis of association used contingency table, and Influence of salinity to soil used result of laboratory analysis. Conclusion from this research are (1). There are six step life cycle of A. nilotica that is seed corps, seedling, juvenile, adult, flower, and seed in pod, (3). Stand structure of A. nilotica in BNP pertained as straightened age, (4). There are three of species positive association to A. nilotica is bayapan (Brachiria reptans), rumput gunung (Oplismenus burmanii), dan rumput kawat (Dactyloctenium aegyptium), (5). The analysis of soil fertility parameter indicates that there symptom of effect treatment salinity concentration at test soil, (6). Treatment salinity concentration has an effect to organ damage A. nilotica, specially on root, bark, and leaf. So that at 14 HST of most crop test has died the effect unable to tolerate tried treatment.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Keywords: Diversity, species, weeds, oil palm. Weeds are part of plant-disturbing organisms whose existence is not expected by the main plants or cultivated plants because they can interfere and reduce production yields. This study examined the diversity of weeds in smallholder palm plantation area in Binjai Village, Bilah Hilir District. The study was conducted from August to September 2020. The aim of this study was to identify the weed species and weed diversity in the smallholder oil palm plantation area in Binjai village. The samples were selected by dividing the location into 2 stations based on the age range. The data were collected by using the quadratic method, with an area of each plot of 2m x 2m of 20 plots. Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the type and level of diversity (H') of plants. The research was conducted in August – September 2021. The approach used in this study was quantitative with a descriptive type of research. Data was collected by using the quadratic method with purposive sampling technique. The parameters observed included Absolute Frequency (FM), Absolute Density (KM), Absolute Dominance (DM), and the level of diversity (H'). The results obtained 136 species from 50 families consisting of tree habitus 12 species from 9 families, shrubs 55 species from 31 families, and herbs 69 species from 26 families. The understorey that dominates all stations is paitan grass (Axonopus compressus). The level of diversity of understorey species of pine stands in Uyem Beriring Nature Tourism, Gayo Lues Regency at station I there are 117 species with a diversity index of 4.27 which is categorized as very high. At station II there are 61 species with a diversity index of 3.72 and at station III there are 32 species with a diversity index of 3.23 which are categorized as high. The average level of plant diversity at the three stations is H' = 3.74, meaning that the diversity of plants in Uyem Beriring Nature Tourism, Gayo Lues District is relatively high. Keywords: Diversity, Pine, Undergrowth, Uyem Beriring.

Abstract

The golden snail is a pest that causes crop failure in rice plants. Farmers control the golden snail by using pesticides, which can have a negative impact on the environment, so another alternative is needed that can control the golden snail, namely vegetable pesticides. This study aims to determine the effect of a combination of oleander leaf extract and neem leaves on the mortality of Keong Mas. The method used in this research is the experimental method with a factorial completely randomised design (CRD). The study consisted of 2 factors, namely factor N (Oleander leaf) and factor A (Azadiracta indica leaf), each of which had 4 levels, so there were 16 treatment combinations and 3 replications. There were 480 golden snails in the study. After 12 hours of observation, the N3A3 treatment tested by ANOVA showed significantly different results (fcount > ftable = 66.00 > 2.01) and caused 30 test animals to die with a mortality rate of 77%.  The conclusion from this study is that the combination of oleander leaf extract with neem leaves greatly influences the mortality of the golden snail
