Abstract

The aim of the present research is to comprehend the correlation between the using of learning journal and students’ learning achievement in the course of Invertebrate Zoology in Biology Education Department of Teacher Training Faculty of Syiah Kuala University Banda Aceh. The data was collected on October to December 2016. The present research uses quasi-experiment method with one group pretest-posttest design. The participants of the research were the third grade students of Biology Education Department of Syiah Kuala University Banda Aceh that joined Invertebrate Zoology course. The instruments used in the present research are learning journal and assessment test. The data was analyzed using correlation and regression tests with the help of SPSS 16.00 for Windows. The tests show that there are a strong relationship between learning journal and students’ learning achievement (r = 0,473) and that the learning journal has influence as many as 22,3% to the students’ learning achievement. It can be concluded that there is a positiveand significant correation between learning journal and the learning achievement of students in Biology Education Department of Syiah Kuala Univeristy.Keywords: Learning Journal, Learning Achievement and Invertebrate Zoology.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate the performance of contracting Biology teachers working on preparing teaching plan and teaching learning process. The population was 54 contracting Biology teachers who were teaching at SLTP and SMU in Nanggroe Aceh Darusssalam province. The sample taken by purposive random sampling was 24 teachers. The instruments used in this study were an essay test which was used for measuring the performance of teaching plan and teaching learning process by IPKM-1 and IPKM-2. The analyzed data showed that the contracting Biology teachers’ working on making teaching plan and t teaching learning process stay at level “enough and good”. It is supported by the average score 2.53 for making teaching plan and 2.14 for teaching learning process.

Abstract

The people of Susoh Subdistrict utilize various kinds of plants in their daily lives as food, medicinal herbs and traditional ceremonies, but until now there has not been any inventory of plants used and the method of utilization for the community in traditional ceremonies related to the local wisdom of the Susoh District community. Therefore, the way to overcome this problem is by conducting research that aims to find out the types of plants, people used, how to use and philosophical values at traditional ceremonies in the District of Susoh, Southwest Aceh District. This study uses a qualitative approach to the type of descriptive research. The method used in this research is structural interview, observation and documentation. The population of this study was 64 respondents taken from 16 villages in the District of Susoh, Aceh Barat Daya District, samples were taken in total. Sampling was 64 respondents. The results of this study obtained 26 types of plants from 21 families used in traditional ceremonies, plant organs used for traditional ceremonies are roots, stems, leaves, flowers, fruits, seeds and tubers. how to use plants used are milled, chopped and used intact. The philosophical value of the traditional ceremonies of the Susoh District community in Southwest Aceh Regency has a different meaning in each of the traditional ceremonies by utilizing plants that have symbolic meanings as well as in traditional ceremonies conducted for generations, for example Cocor Bebek (Kalanchoe pinnata L.) which has a soothing meaning, it is hoped that all things can be good, safe and peaceful.Keywords: Local Wisdom, Traditional Ceremony, Plants ABSTRAKMasyarakat Kecamatan Susoh memanfaatkan berbagai macam tumbuhan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari sebagai bahan pangan, ramuan obat dan upacara adat, namun sampai saat ini belum diinventarisasikan tumbuhan apa saja yang digunakan dan cara pemanfaatan bagi masyarakat dalam upacara adat terkait dengan kearifan lokal masyarakat Kecamatan Susoh. Oleh karena itu, cara untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut dengan melakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis tumbuhan, orang yang digunakan, cara pemanfaatan dan nilai filosofi  pada upacara adat masyarakat Kecamatan Susoh Kabupaten Aceh Barat Daya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara struktural, observasi dan dokumentasi. Populasi penelitian ini adalah 64 responden yang diambil dari 16 desa di Kecamatan Susoh Kabupaten Aceh Barat Daya, sampel diambil secara total Sampling sebanyak 64 responden. Hasil pada penelitian ini diperoleh 26 jenis tumbuhan dari 21 familia yang digunakan pada upacara adat, organ tumbuhan yang digunakan untuk upacara adat adalah akar, batang, daun, bunga, buah, biji dan umbi. cara pemanfaatan tumbuhan yang digunakan yaitu digiling, dirajang dan dipakai utuh. Nilai filosofi pada upacara adat masyarakat Kecamatan Susoh Kabupaten Aceh Barat Daya memiliki makna berbeda setiap upacara adatnya dengan memanfaatkan tumbuhan yang memiliki makna simbolis juga pada upacara adat yang dilakukan secara turun temurun contohnya Cocor Bebek (Kalanchoe pinnata L.) yang memiliki makna menyejukkan, diharapkan semua hal bisa baik, aman dan tentram.Kata Kunci: Kearifan Lokal, Upacara Adat, Tumbuhan

Abstract

Nutritional knowledge is an understanding of food and its nutritional components, food that is safe for consumption and is needed as a source of energy used to carry out activities. This research was conducted in August-September 2020. This study aims to determine the level of knowledge of balanced nutrition in the community of Lamkubu Village, Lembah Seulawah District, Aceh Besar District. The approach used in this research is qualitative and quantitative with descriptive research type. The population in this study was the village community which was taken based on the age group, namely adolescents, adults and the elderly, the number of village people was 362 people. Samples were taken by purposive sampling as much as 25% so that the number of samples used in this study were 30 people per age group so that the number of samples in the study was 90 people. The research data were collected by filling out a questionnaire and the data were analyzed using a percentage formula. The results showed that the majority of the level of knowledge of the people of Gampong Lamkubu, Lembah Seulawah Sub-district, Aceh Besar District, had poor nutrition knowledge.Keywords: knowledge, nutrition, balanced Pengetahuan gizi adalah pemahaman mengenai makanan dan komponen zat gizi, makanan yang aman dikonsumsi serta dibutuhkan sebagai sumber energi yang digunakan untuk dapat melakukan aktivitas. Penelitian ini telah dilakukan pada bulan Agustus-September 2020. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan gizi seimbang masyarakat Gampong Lamkubu Kecamatan Lembah Seulawah Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah masyarakat gampong yang diambil berdasarkan kelompok umur yaitu remaja, dewasa dan lansia, jumlah masyarakat gampong berjumlah 362 orang. Sampel diambil secara Purposive Sampling sebanyak 25% sehingga jumlah sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah 30 orang tiap kelompok umur sehingga jumlah sampel penelitian sebanyak 90 orang. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan pengisian kuesioner dan data dianalisis menggunakan rumus persentase. Hasil penelitian diperoleh mayoritas tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat Gampong Lamkubu Kecamatan Lembah Seulawah Kabupaten Aceh Besar memiliki pengetahuan gizi kurang.Kata Kunci: pengetahuan, gizi, seimbang

Abstract

 ABSTRACTRed chilies have a high content of vitamins, including vitamin C. Very low storage capacity causes chilies to decompose easily and their high water content increases the damage. Prevention of damage to chilies needs to be done to maintain the quality and nutritional content of these chilies. Prevention that can be done is by means of packaging and the appropriate length of storage time to maintain the quality of red chilies. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of different types of packaging materials and storage times and their interactions on vitamin C levels in red chilies (Capsicum annum L.). The research was conducted with an experimental method with a research design using a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial pattern with 2 factors, namely the type of packaging material and storage time. The number of combinations was 16 treatments with 3 repetitions. Data analysis used ANOVA test, then using further test of the least significant difference (LSD). The results showed that different types of packaging materials and storage times and their interactions had an effect on vitamin C levels in red chilies. A good treatment used is the type of aluminum foil packaging material with a shelf life of 10 days at a temperature of 50 C. Keywords: Packaging Materials, Storage Time, Vitamin C, Red Chili. ABSTRAK            Cabai merah memiliki kandungan vitamin yang tinggi antara lain vitamin C. Daya simpan yang sangat rendah menyebabkan cabai mudah mengalami pembusukan dan kadar  airnya yang tinggi memperbesar terjadinya kerusakan. Pencegahan kerusakan pada cabai perlu dilakukan untuk menjaga kualitas dan juga kandungan gizi pada cabai tersebut. Pencegahan yang dapat dilakukan yaitu dengan cara pengemas dan lama waktu simpan yang sesuai untuk mempertahankan kualitas dari cabai merah. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis bahan pengemas dan lama penyimpanan yang berbeda serta interaksinya terhadap kadar vitamin C pada  cabai merah (Capsicum annum  L.). Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen dengan desain penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) pola faktorial dengan 2 faktor yaitu jenis bahan pengemas dan lama penyimpanan. Jumlah kombinasi 16 perlakuan dengan 3 kali ulangan. Analisis data menggunakan uji ANAVA, selanjutnya menggunakan uji lanjut Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa jenis bahan pengemas dan lama  penyimpanan yang berbeda serta interaksinya  berpengaruh terhadap kadar vitamin C pada cabai merah. Perlakuan yang baik digunakan yaitu jenis bahan pemgemas aluminium foil dengan lama simpan 10 hari pada suhu 50C. Kata Kunci: Bahan Pengemas, Lama Penyimpanan, Vitamin C, Cabai Merah.

Abstract

This research was intended to find out students’ level of understanding on the concept ofstructures and functions of plant tissue through implementation of multimedia-assisteddirect instruction learning model. This study was conducted from June 2014 to February2015. This research was carried out in an experimental, pretest-posttest control groupdesign. The population in this study was students from class XI.IA1 to XI.IA5 inSeniorHigh School1 Bandar Baru, Pidie, Indonesia, with the total of 125 students. The sampleswere determined by purposive sampling technique, and further divided into two classes,namely experimental class (XI.IA1) and control class (XI.IA2) consisting of 24 and 25students. The data was collected by giving test consisting of 50 validated questions. It wasobtained that the t-test value was higher than t-table value (10,81 > 2,01) at level ofsignificance = 0,05. In brief, students’ understanding on the concept of structures andfunctions of plant tissue had been improved through the implementation of multimediaassisteddirect instruction learning model.

Abstract

The lack of knowledge and understanding of the people of Mila District on animal conservation causes conflicts between animals and the local community. One method that can be used to increase public understanding of the importance of maintaining elephant conservation is to apply the blended learning method. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of blended learning to increase public understanding of elephant conservation. This research was conducted in July 2022 in Mila sub-district, Pidie district. The research method used is an experimental method and the research design used is a questionnaire. Data was collected using a questionnaire in the experimental class and the control class with 25 respondents each. Analysis of the questionnaire data used a Likert scale by calculating the number of scores, then normality, and homogeneity tests were carried out to test the hypothesis using the independent t-test. The results of this study obtained the average score of the experimental class was 106.80 and the control class was 80.60. Questionnaire score data is data that is normally distributed with a value of (0.503>0.05) for the experimental class and (0.482>0.005) for the control class. Questionnaire score data is homogeneous data with a value (0.353> 0.05). The value of the hypothesis test is (0.000 <0.05). This study concludes that there are differences or improvements between blended learning and conventional methods

Abstract

Students' motivation in learning are still low in the subjects of Craft and Entrepreneurship. Therefore, a project-based learning model is needed that is able to increase students' motivation in learning. This study aims to determine the effect of the project-based learning model with mind mapping method in increasing learning motivation of students in the subjects of Craft and Entrepreneurship. The research design used was a one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study were all students of class X SMA Negeri 1 Meulaboh as many as 254 students. The number of samples amounted to 48 students. Learning motivation data were analyzed by comparing the scores of learning motivation before and after the implementation of project-based learning in the experimental class which was tested for significance through the Wilcoxon average difference test. The results showed that the learning motivation of students before and after the application of the learning model had a significant difference (p value = 0.00; p < 0.05). The conclusion of this study is that there are differences in students' learning motivation before and after the application of the project-based learning model

Abstract

Misconception is one of the obstacles in the achievement of physics learning and must be immediately corrected so that there is no retention of misconceptions in subsequent knowledge. One way to prevent and reduce misconceptions that occur is with the teachers skill of Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK). Teachers who integrate TPACK in learning can prevent misconceptions and find solutions to overcome the misconceptions. This study aims to determine the TPACK skill of teachers in overcoming misconceptions and the appropriate TPACK components to reduce misconceptions based on concepts on the three tier test of FCI (Force Concept Inventory). The research method used is mixed method with concurrent embedded design. The main data in this study is TPACK which is qualitative data and supporting data is students misconception which is quantitative data. The results showed a decrease in misconceptions after being given an understanding of the concept using the teacher's TPACK skill. The components used during the teacher's reduction of misconceptions based on the concepts in the FCI three tier test of FCI  are TPACK and PCK components. So it can be concluded that the teacher's TPACK skill can reduce the misconceptions that occur in the three tier test of FCI

Abstract

Problem solving skills (PSS) are one of the high-level thinking skills that must be possessed by students. This skill will help students apply scientific content to solve problems in real life. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of problem based learning (PBL) models with a radical construktivism module on PSS. Data were collected in February to March 2022. The method in this study used an experimental method with nonrandomized post test only control-group design. This research was conducted in two classes: the experimental class using PBL model learning with radical constructivism module and the control class that only using PBL model learning. The samples were 160 students. The instrument was tests to assess PSS. Data analysis used independent sample t-test to determine effect of PBL model learning with radical constructivism module on PSS. T-test results showed that value sig 0,05. The result showed that students who received PBL model learning and the radical constructivism module obtained significantly better PSS compared to students who only received PBL model learning
