Abstract

Based on the results of initial observations in class X SMK Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli several problems were found, including: 1) Learning is still conventional (teacher centered), and 2) Student learning outcomes in mathematics are still lacking.Research objectives: (1) Describe the quality of learning mathematics through the application of the Group Investigation model. (2) Describe student learning outcomes in mathematics through the application of the Group Investigation Learning model. The research location is in class X SMK Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli. The research subjects were 26 students of class X, consisting of 12 boys and 14 girls. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR), which consists of four stages: (1) Planning, (2) Action, (3) Observation, and (4) Reflection. Research instruments: (1) observation sheet, (2) learning quality questionnaire, (3) student learning achievement test, (4) interview guide sheet, and (5) photo documentation. The results of the study: (1) The quality of learning mathematics through the application of the Group Investigation learning model at X SMK Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli for the 2022/2023 academic year in Cycle I, namely 64.39%, was classified as sufficient criteria and in Cycle II, namely 98.53%, it was classified as very good criteria . (2) The average student learning outcomes in mathematics through the application of the Group Investigation learning model at X SMK Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli for the 2022/2023 academic year in Cycle I, namely 69.30, is classified as sufficient criteria and in Cycle II, namely 80.15, it is classified as criteria Good.

Abstract

Kesalahan tersebut dapat dilihat dari persentase berikut : kesalahan membaca terjadi sebanyak 39,51%, kesalahan pemahaman terjadi sebanyak 51,85%, kesalahan transformasi terjadi sebanyak 67,9%, kesalahan keterampilan proses terjadi sebanyak 75,31% (kesalahan yang paling banyak dilakukan peserta didik), dan kesalahan pengkodean 66,67%.Kata kunci : Analisis Kesalahan,Teori Newman, Soal Cerita.ABSTRACTThis study aims to describe the errors made by students in solving story problems based on Newman's theory in class X-OTKP 2 SMK Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Alo'oa. This research method is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Data was collected using the written test and interview methods. The research subjects were taken 5 out of 27 students of class X-OTKP 2 SMK Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Alo'oa. The results of the study can be concluded that the types of errors based on Newman's theory that appear when students solve story problems are: (1) reading errors (2) understanding errors (3) transformation errors, (4) process skill errors, and (5) writing errors. final answer or coding. These errors can be seen from the following percentages: reading errors occur as much as 39.51%, understanding errors occur as much as 51.85%, transformation errors occur as much as 67.9%, process skill errors occur as much as 75.31% (the most mistakes made students), and coding errors of 66.67%.Keywords : Error Analysis, Newman's Theory, Story Problems

Abstract

This research is based on the results of a preliminary study conducted by researchers during the implementation of the Internship at SMP Negeri 2 Hiliduho, a problem was found, namely the understanding of mathematical concepts of students in the poor category. The purpose of this study was to determine the difficulty of understanding mathematical concepts in class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Hiliduho and to find out the factors that cause difficulties in understanding mathematical concepts. The instruments used are concept understanding tests, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Hiliduho in the 2022/2023 Learning Year, totaling 57 people with qualitative descriptive research methods. The results of the study obtained difficulties in understanding the concepts experienced by students, namely: the inability to provide an interpretation of the concepts that have been written down, the inability to remember what a circle must have, the inability to reexpress concepts in other forms, difficulty in developing necessary or sufficient conditions of a concept. Factors causing difficulties in understanding concepts are the lack of use of teaching aids during the learning process, lack of mastery of previous material, and not practicing working on problems.
