Abstract

The aim of the research was to cross the resistant generations of the saline soil from pedigreeselection of grobogan varieties with female parent of Grobogan varieties as one of the stage toobtain the varieties which resistant to the saline condition. The research was carried out in plastichouse Agriculture’s Faculty of North Sumatera University, Medan, Indonesia with ± 25 m altitudeabove sea level. which was held in April to July 2014. This research used Completely RandomizedDesign with five combination crossing and ten replicant that is Grobogan×N,Grobogan×N3, Grobogan×N4, Grobogan×N. Parameters observed were the percentage of thesucceeded crossing, number of productive pods, number of empty pods, number of pods containone seed, number of pods contain two seeds, number of pods contain three seeds, and weight of 10seeds per plant. The results showed that crossing between selected of soybean genotypes on salinesoil with Grobogan varieties as female parent significantly different for parameters number ofproductive pods, number of empty pods, number of pods contain one seed, number of pods containtwo seeds, number of pods contain three seeds, and weight of 10 seeds per plant, but notsignificantly different for parameters the percentage of the succeeded crossing.Key words : crossing, genotype soybean, saline soil. 51, Grobogan×N2

Abstract

The aim of the research was to determine the morphological and physiological response of severalsoybean varieties in acid soil. This research was conducted at the screen house at Faculty ofAgriculture, University of North Sumatra-Medan (± 25 m asl) from April-August 2014, using arandomized block design with 2 factors ie varieties (Tanggamus, Detam 2, Anjasmoro and Detam1) and media (liming and addition of sulfur). The parameters measured were plant height, rootlength, number of branches, leaf area, days of flowering, the amount of chlorophyll a and b,harvesting age, number of pods per sample, number of containing pods per sample. The resultsshowed that the varieties significantly different the parameters of leaf area, days to flowering,harvesting age, number of pods per sample and the number of containing pods per sample. Themedia had no significant effect on all parameters were observed.Keywords:soybean variety, liming, acidsoil

Abstract

Soybean was the self pollinated plant with low genetic diversity. The gamma irradiation was used toinduced the mutation as the genetic diversity. The increase of the genetic diversity would make theeasy selection of certain growth character. The effect of gamma irradiation on the first phase ofplant growth would affected the morphological performance and the plant yield. The aim of theresearch was to determine the morphological response of soybean plant (Glycine max (L.) Merill)Anjasmoro variety to the gamma irradiation. The research was priored by inducing the seed ofAnjasmoro variety with several gamma irradiation i.e. : 0, 100, 200, 300 gy. The result showed thatthe gamma irradiation affected the plant height, the number of branches, the time of flowering, theflower colouration, the time of pod maturation, the number of pods, the number of seeds, and theseed weight per plant.Keywords : Anjasmoro, Seeds, Gamma Ray Irradiation

Abstract

These research conducted in North Sumatera university agricultural faculty in January to April 2014, using factorial randomized block design with two factors. The first factor is the soybean variety (Anjasmoro and Wilis) and the second factor is treatment drought stress (optimum field capacity, and drought stress treatment beginning flowering plant for 14 days).The results of these research showed that drough stress decrease growth and production parameter were leaf area (25,40%), root volume (44,87%), shoot dry weight (38,01%), and dry weight of 100 seeds (23,32%).Keywords :growth, Anjasmoro, Wilis, drought stress.

Abstract

This research aims to known inheritance soybean plant on F1 descent. The research was conducted at Agriculture Faculcity Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan in June 2014 until February 2015. The research counducted in 2 phase. The first phase is crossing, are G1 (♀Detam II X ♂Anjasmoro), G2 (♀Anjasmoro X ♂Detam II), G3 (♀Grobogan X ♂Anjasmoro), G4 (♀Anjasmoro X ♂Grobogan), G5 (♀Grobogan X ♂Detam II) and G6 (♀Detam II X ♂Grobogan). The second phase is F1 test. The percentage of successfully are 32.22-46.45%. The highest result of crossing G1 and the lowest G4. G1 and G2 significantly different of flower age, plant height, number of seeds and pods with seed 1, number of seeds and pods with seed 2, number of seeds and pods with seed 3, number of pods containing, number of seed per plant, seed weight per plant and 100 seeds weight. G5 and G6 significantly different of flower age, harvesting time, primer branch number, number of seeds and pods with seed 2, number of seeds and pods with seed 3, number of pods containing, number of seed per plant and seed weight per plant. Difference between F1 and F1 reciprocal occur because of maternal inheritance inindividuals crossing result.Key words : crossing, Anjasmoro, Detam II, Grobogan, F1 test

Abstract

The aim of the research was to know effect of GA3 to rubber plant in micro shoot formation. The research was conducted at the rubber plant microcutting labortory PT Perkebunan Nusantara III Kebun Gunung Pamela, Tebing Tinggi, North Sumatera, Indonesia from April 2015 to Juli 2015. The Completely randomize design was used with two factors,i.e.:the addition of GA3 (GA3 0 mg/l; GA3 0.5 mg/l; GA3 1 mg/l; GA3 1.5 mg/l) and the immersion of nodes (GA3 0 mg/l; GA3 5 mg/l; GA3 10 mg/l; GA3 15 mg/l) with seven replications. The result showed that addition of 0.5 mg/l GA3 of significantly affected the percent of shoot emergence but no significantly different age of shoot emergence and immersion of nodes of 0 mg/l significantly affected the percent of shoot emergence but no significantly different age of shoot emergence and the interraction that addition of 0.5 mg/l GA3 and immersion of nodes significant affected the percent of shoot emergence on age of shoot emergence but no significantly different.Keywords : rubber, micro shoot, addition of GA3, immersion of nodesThe aim of the research was to know effect of GA3 to rubber plant in micro shoot formation. Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui keragaan fenotipe berdasarkan karakter agronomi dan pewarisan maternal dari tetua betina pada persilangan resiprokal generasi F2 beberapa varietas kedelai. Penelitian dilaksanakan di lahan percobaan Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sumatera Utara Medan, dimulai Juni 2015 sampai September 2015 menggunakan hasil persilangan kombinasi antara varietas V1 : Anjasmoro, V2 : Detam II, V3 : Grobogan sebagai tetua dengan empat kombinasi persilangan G1 : Anjasmoro x Detam II, G2 : Detam II x Anjasmoro, G3 : Detam II x Grobogan, G4 : Grobogan x Detam II dengan uji t. Data dianalisis dengan Uji Sebaran Normalitas dan Heritabilitas. Parameter diamati adalah umur berbunga, tinggi tanaman, jumlah cabang primer, umur panen, jumlah polong berbiji 1, jumlah polong berbiji 2, jumlah polong berbiji 3, jumlah polong berisi per tanaman, jumlah polong hampa per tanaman, jumlah biji polong berbiji 1, jumlah biji polong berbiji 2, jumlah biji polong berbiji 3, jumlah biji per tanaman, bobot biji per tanaman dan bobot 100 biji. Hasil uji t F2 dan tetua betina menunjukkan genotipe persilangan G1, G2, G3, dan G4 berbeda nyata terhadap jumlah cabang primer, umur panen, jumlah polong berbiji 1, jumlah polong berbiji 3, jumlah polong berisi per tanaman, jumlah biji polong berisi 1, jumlah biji polong berisi 3, jumlah biji per tanaman, dan bobot biji per tanaman.. Uji t F1 dan F2 menunjukkan berbeda nyata terhadap umur berbunga, jumlah cabang primer, umur panen, jumlah polong berbiji 2, jumlah polong berbiji 3, jumlah polong berisi per tanaman, jumlah biji polong berisi 2, jumlah biji polong berisi 3, jumlah biji per tanaman, bobot biji per tanaman, dan bobot 100 biji. Sebaran frekuensi karakter agronomis menunjukkan kurva tidak berdistribusi normal karena segregasi tertinggi terjadi pada F2.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama penyinaran dan teknik aplikasi  GA3 terhadap pembentukan tunas mikro pada tanaman karet (Hevea brasiliensis Muell. Arg.). Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Microcutting Tanaman Karet PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III Kebun Gunung Pamela Tebin Tinggi, Sumatera Utara, Medan pada April 2015- Juli 2015,menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 2 faktor perlakuan yaitu lama penyinaran dan konsentrasi GA3 dengan 7 ulangan. Peubah amatan yang diamati adalah persentase eksplan membentuk tunas dan umur munculnya tunas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan lama penyinaran dan konsentrasi GA3 serta interaksi keduanya belum memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap persentase eksplan membentuk tunas.

Abstract

The aim of the research was to obtain  the selected M3­generation  soybean plant  (Glycine max L Merril). The research was conducted on the experimental field of Faculty of Agriculture USU (± 25 m altitude) from AuGust 2015 until December 2015. The parameters observed wer:  the time  of flowering, the plant height, the number of primary branches, the time of harvest, the number of  one seed pods, the number of two seed  pods, the number of  three seed pods , the number of four seed pods, the number of pods, the number of empty pods, the number of seed s of one seed pod, the number seeds of  two seed pod, number of three seeds of three seed  pod, the number of seeds of three seed pod, the number of seeds of four seed pod, s, the seed weight, the weight of 100 seeds.The result showed that the gamma irradiation at M3generation at 100 Gy, 200 Gy and 300 Gy affected the character the time of  flowering, the time of harvets, the plant height, the number of productive branches, the number of pods, the number of seeds, the seed weigth, the weigth of 100 seeds. At 200 Gy the population number of productive plant increased  and  at 300 Gy showed the longer  time of flowering. Key words      : M3 generation,selection, soybean.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan pertumbuhan dari beberapa genotipe bibit asam gelugur. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di lahan Sentra Agribisnis Jalan A.H. Nasution No. 1 A Kecamatan Medan Johor Kelurahan Pangkalan Mansur Kota Madya Medan dan Laboratorium Fisiologi Tumbuhan Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Sumatera Utara Medan, dari bulan Mei sampai dengan Oktober 2016.  Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, jumlah daun, ukuran daun, bentuk daun, tepi daun, ujung daun, pangkal daun dan warna daun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa  genotipe Malaysia, Deli Serdang, Langkat dan Kota Cane perbedaan nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, diameter batang dan ukuran daun serta memiliki kesamaan pada karakter bentuk daun (oblong), tepi daun (rata), ujung (acuminate) dan pangkal daun (cuneate), warna daun tua (hijau tua). Genotipe Malaysia memiliki rataan tertinggi pada tinggi tanaman (10,82 cm), diameter batang (3,04 mm), jumlah daun (10 helai), ukuran daun (panjang 78,70 mm dan lebar 38,30 mm). Kata kunci : pertumbuhan, genotipe, asam gelugur
