Abstract

Green mussel (Perna viridis) is oyster has high potential to be developed. A huge market demand is an important factor to optimized green mussel cultivation, there are to system that could be applied for cultivation green mussel is polyculture and monoculture. The purposed of this study is to determined growth performance of green mussel which culture in monoculture and polyculture system. Green mussel is culture in floating cage bath of monoculture and polyculture system. In polyculture system green mussel placed within seabass (Lates calcarifer). Growth performance of green mussel determined by comparizing growth in wide and body lenght using T-test to analyzed factor that assigned to growth performance used principle component analysis (PCA) to environment factor such as Total Amonia Nitrogen (TAN), Total Organic Matters (TOM), Total Suspended Solid (TSS) and phytoplankton both in polycultured and monocultured system. The result of this research was shown that growth in this significant shown from third place where sample collected at 0-100 in depth The results showed that this significant growth was shown from the third place where the samples were collected at 0-100 in depth and the second place where the samples were collected at 100-150 in depth. This is caused by availability of feed source such as TOM and phytoplankton thy driven by sea current. The significant value shown by growth in wide of mussel shell at 100-150 cm in depth.

Abstract

Pasaran Island  located in the Western District of Teluk Betung within 5 km from the center of Bandar Lampung. This island was known as a central anchovy in Lampung. Several attempts have been made to optimize the production of fishery there, especially anchovies, in the form of technical assistance policy to business operations. However, the potential Pasaran Island is very diverse and not limited to the anchovy, one of which is the potential for the cultivation of green mussel (Perna viridis). Mussels in Pasaran Island was cultivating in 3 years ago. This study uses a combination of aquaculture site surveys, water quality data collection, interviews and laboratory analysis of heavy metal content. With adequate environmental carrying capacity, ease of cultivation technology, the proximity of the location of the city of Bandar Lampung, food safety aspects as well as support for the various parties expected the green mussel farming can be a new icon other than Pasaran anchovy so as to improve social welfare in Pasaran Island.

Abstract

Kerang hijau Perna viridis merupakan komoditas perikanan yang sudah lama dibudidayakan di Indonesia. Perubahan larva kerang hijau dari planktonik menjadi sesil merupakan masa kritis untuk hidup larva kerang hijau. Penempelan kerang hijau memerlukan substrat yang baik agar benih kerang hijau menempel dengan sempurna dan tidak terbawa oleh arus. Pada proses budidaya kerang hijau diperlukan jenis substrat yang sesuai dengan bissus kerang hijau. Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui tingkat penempelan benih pada substrat dan pertumbuhan panjang benih kerang hijau. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 perlakuan yaitu jenis substrat (tali) yang berbeda (serat alami, serat sintetis dan serat nanas). Penempelan benih kerang hijau yang paling tinggi pada minggu ke 8 jenis serat alami yaitu 92%, selanjutnya serat sintetis 30% dan serat nanas 14%.   Panjang rata-rata benih kerang hijau yang paling baik pada serat alami yaitu 1,0 cm. Panjang rata-rata yang baik benih kerang hijau pada serat alami dapat disebabkan karena serat alami memiliki tekstur yang lembut yaitu seratnya terbuat dari beberapa jenis tumbuhan sehingga kerang hijau dapat menempel dengan baik. Berdasarkan uji lanjut BNT menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan berbagai jenis tali menghasilkan tingkat penempelan yang berbeda nyata.

Abstract

Pasaran island is well known as a center of anchovy producer in the province of Lampung, Indonesia. The total of catched fish is to 57.6 tons per month so Pasaran island was classified as fisheries cluster producing anchovies in the province of Lampung. The processing units from fishing, curing, drying, processing to marketing steps was conducted by small and medium enterprises (SME’s) from local community. They producedvarious products such as dried anchovies, packaged vacum anchovies, snack, and raw material for feed of nila and catfish from anchovies waste. Theseintegrated processing system not only increasing the added values of anchovies in Pasaran islandbut also applying zero waste concept in the processing anchovies. Thus impacted on increasing SME’s and local community incomes.

Abstract

Abstract. The snubnose pompano Trachinotus blochii is one of the important commercial fishery commodity in the Indonesian market. The increasing of the market demand has led some efforts to increase the production of this fish. So do the increasing need for green mussels Perna viridis meat. Therefore it is necessary to evaluate the performance of both species in the polyculture system by using raft culture. This study aims to compare the growth performance of snubnose pompano cultivated on a monoculture system and polyculture within green mussels in a raft system. The parameter observed was the differences in the  growth performance of both species and the increase in total weight and survival (SR) of the fish. The results showed that the growth of snubnose pompano did not provide a significant difference in the growth of both cultivating systems whether in monoculture or polyculture system, likewise the shell length and width of the green mussels. We conclude that it is profitable to cultivate both organisms on a polyculture system because it can harvest both green mussels and snubnose pompano together in a period.Keywords: Snubnose pompano, green mussel, monoculture, polyculture, raft, growth Abstrak. Permintaan pasar terhadap daging ikan bawal bintang semakin meningkat begitupun dengan daging kerang hijau sehingga diperlukan suatu upaya rekayasa teknologi budidaya. Salah satunya adalah dengan menerapkan sistem polikultur dalam keramba jaring apung. Penelitian ini bertujuan membandingkan faktor pertumbuhan ikan bawal bintang dan kerang hijau yang dibudidayakan dengan sistem monokultur dan polikultur. Pengamatan dilakukan pada perbedaan pertumbuhan ikan dan kerang hijau, juga pada mutlak serta survival rate (SR). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan panjang dan lebar bawal bintang tidak memberikan perbedaan pertumbuhan secara nyata baik pada perlakuan monokultur dan polikultur. Begitupun dengan pertumbuhan kerang hijau sehingga sistem polikultur lebih menguntungkan untuk dilakukan karena bisa memanen kerang hijau dan ikan bawal bintang sekaligus.Kata Kunci: kerang hijau, ikan bawal bintang, monokutur, polikultur, pertumbuhan, KJA.

Abstract

White shrimp culture (Litopenaeus vannamei) has very good prospects to be developed so that the availability of quality juveniles with a sustainable quantity is very necessary for aquaculture activities. White shrimp nursery has several constraints because in the implementation process it uses high stocking density so the amount of feed needed is higher. The condition of using high feed can have an impact on the quality of aquaculture used. Waste products from metabolism and uneaten feed residues, especially nitrogen waste can be toxic to shrimp. To reduce the risk of toxic waste in shrimp there are several technologies that can be used, one of which is biofloc technology. This study aims to determine the growth and survival rate (SR) of white shrimp nursery using biofloc technology. The study was conducted using a permanent ponds container coated with a tarpaulin with a size of 3m x 5m x 1.2m as much as 2 pieces. Each pond filled with seawater with a salinity of 30 ppt as much as 12,000 liters is equipped with 24 aeration points and a microbubble. White shrimp juvenile used Post Larva size 10 with an average weight of 0.01 grams with a stocking density of 1,500 ind/m3(18,000 ind/pond). Maintenance time for 28 days. During maintenance, commercial feed is given at a dose of 100% -5% of the total weight of biomass per day. The results showed an average final length and weight are 5.15 cm and 2.32 gram/ind with a Survival rate (SR) of 89.7%.
