Abstract

The increasing use of biodiesel as renewable fuels leads to the increasing of glycerol amount as a byproduct of biodiesel production. One of the glycerol derivative products that is environmentally friendly and renewable is glycerol carbonate. Glycerol carbonate is commonly used as a raw material for polymers, surfactants, emulsifiers, lubricants, paints, also used in the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries. In this study, the research was carried out by using a batch reactor with a three-neck flask equipped with reverse cooling, thermometers, mercury stirrer, and heating mantle with the conditions of the reaction temperature around 373 – 413 K, mole ratio of reactants of urea: glycerol were 1:0,5, 1:1, 1:1,5, 1:2 and 1:4  and the concentration of catalyst were 1%, 2%, 3%, 4% and 5% respectively. Reaction was done for four hours. The results showed that the formation of glycerol carbonate from glycerol and urea using a catalyst Amberlyst 36 is affected by the catalyst concentration, reaction temperature and the ratio of reactants used. The highest glycerol conversion was obtained at 55.07% at a temperature of 393 K with mole ratio of urea and glycerol 1:0,5 and the percentage of catalyst 3% of the amount of glycerol.

Abstract

Utilization of glycerol side product from biodiesel as waste management application is required for reduced   negative effect which possible emerged. Glycerol  have three bond of hydroxyde, so its  opportunity  to utilize  to be solketal as bio-additive of gasoline. Indion 225 Na ion exchanger resin is strong acid cation category and low  prices, so  its potency to use alternatively of solid catalyst to get efficient and economic process. The purpose of this research was focussed to search  of the best condition by optimalization indion 225 Na performance as catalyst in glycerol ketalization reaction, by integrated of variables that have effected to reaction for maximize glycerol coversion. To get maximize of reactants molecular interaction and for  optimalization indion 255 Na performance, observation  conducted  in the  range variables which widely enough that were  reactant ratio of 5:1-6:1 mole of acetone mole/mole of glycerol, diameter size  catalyst of  20-40 mesh, catalyst concentration of 3-5% mass of acetone, and reaction temperature of 35-65oC. Result of the research showed that  indion 225 Na catalyst have good performance, by glycerol conversion to reach of 51.89%. Glycerol conversion mentioned was obtained at reactant ratio of 6:1 mole of acetone/mole of gycerol, diameter size catalyst of  40 mesh, catalyst concentration of 4%  mass of acetone, and  reaction temperature of  65oC.

Abstract

ANALISIS NUMERIK HOOKEJEEVES-RUNGEKUTTA UNTUK MENENTUKAN PERSAMAAN LAJU REAKSI POLIMERISASI PIROL. Telah dilakukan analisis numerik dengan menggunakan metode Hooke Jeeves yang dikombinasikan dengan metoda Runge Kutta, untuk menentukan model yang paling tepat dari persamaan laju reaksi polimerisasi pirol secara kimia. Polimerisasi kimia pirol dijalankan di dalam larutan FeCl3/pirol pada nisbah pereaksi 1,62 mol/mol dan 2,18 mol/mol dengan suhu reaksi 28℃, 40℃, 50℃, dan 60℃. FeCl3 berfungsi sebagai oksidator untuk membentuk kation pirol yang akan siap berpolimerisasi. Dilakukan analisis numerik dari dua model persamaan laju reaksi yang diturunkan dari persamaan-persamaan reaksi pemicuan, perambatan, dan penghentian. Dari analisis numerik di terhadap konsentrasi kation pirol.

Abstract

Tulisan ini membahas politik spasial Gesang dan Soetedja dalam lirik lagu Bengawan Solo dan Di Tepinya Sungai Serayu. Persoalan tersebut menarik dikemukakan karena menghadirkan konsepsi baru melalui redefinisi atas kedua objek. Tujuan penulisan ini adalah menunjukkan bentuk-bentuk place, space, dan postspace kedua lagu terhadap objek yang telah menghadirkan definisi baru atas pengetahuan. Teori yang digunakan adalah pascakolonial Sara Upstone mengenai place, space, dan postspace. Metode penelitian ini adalah mengamati aspek tekstual di dalam teks dan mengorelasikannya dengan persoalan kontekstual berdasarkan aspek-aspek teoretis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa politik spasial melalui kedua lirik lagu menghadirkan kebaruan informasi mengenai objek yang berbeda dengan realitas kedua sungai sebagai bentuk place. Jejak-jejak space yang ditinggalkan oleh kedua pengarang menunjukkan bahwa penciptaan lagu lebih pada kepentingan estetis dan romantik. Postspace yang dihasilkan dengan kehadiran lagu itu memberikan legitimasi atas konsepsi administratif dalam penyebutan asal sumber mata air Bengawan Solo dan hilangnya sisi mistisme yang terdapat di Sungai Serayu.[Spatial Politic in The Song Lyrics of Bengawan Solo and Di Tepinya Sungai Serayu : Sara Upstones Postcolonial Analysis] This paper discusses Gesang and Soetedjas spatial politics in the song lyrics of Bengawan Solo and Di Tepinya Sungai Serayu. The issue is interesting to be raised because it presents a new conception through redefinition of the two objects. The purpose of this paper is to show forms of place, space, and postspace in both songs toward the object that have presented a new definition of knowledge. The theory used is Sara Upstones post-colonialism about place, space, and postspace. The method in this study is to observe textual aspects in the text and correlate them with contextual issues based on theoretical aspects. The results show that spatial politics through both song lyrics presents new information about objects that are different from the reality of the two rivers as a form of place. The traces of space left by the two authors through their songs show the creation of songs more in the interests of aesthetic and romantic aspects. The postspace produced by the presence of the two songs gives legitimacy to the administrative conception in the mention of the origin of the Bengawan Solo spring and the loss of the mysticism found in the Serayu River.Keywords: spatial politics; Bengawan Solo; Serayu River

Abstract

Abstrak Gas H2S merupakan gas yang bersifat polutan dalam gas alam maupun campuran gas. Keberadaannya harus dihilangkan dari campuran tersebut. Ekstrak abu dari limbah pertanian mengandung kalium karbonat yang dapat menyerap gas H2S. Percobaan dilakukan dengan mengalirkan gas H2S dengan laju alir 2,3175 mL/s dan fraksi mol 0,4105 ke dalam larutan ekstrak abu dalam reaktor berpengaduk pada kisaran suhu 303K sampai 325 K, konsentrasi kalium karbonat 7,5.10-3 M sampai 13,5.10-3  M dun waktu reaksi sampai 30 menit, Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konversi kalium karbonat dapat mencapai 37,90%, pada penggunaan kalium karbonat 0,0075M, fraksi mol H2S 0, 4105, suhu reaksi 325K dan waktu reaksi 30 menit. Hasil perhitungan diperoleh nilai koefisien perpindahan massa keseluruhan, KLa=6,24 menit-1, sedang hubungan antara konstanta kecepatan reaksi dengan suhu sesuai dengan persamaan Arrhenius, kr = 175,3219e-15.6788RT. Analisis kinetika reaksi menunjukkan bahwa kedua langkah yaitu perpindahan massa dan reaksi kimia saling menentukan (regim campuran).Kata Kunci : Penyerapan, Perpindahan Massa, Reaksi KimiaAbstrakGas H2S merupakan gas yang bersifat polutan dalam gas alam maupun campuran gas. Abstract

THE INFLUENCE OF MASTICATION TO CURING CHARACTERISTIC OF NATURAL RUBBER AND PHYSICALPROPERTIES OF ITS VULCANIZATES. The research on the mastication that influences the curing characteristic of natural rubber and physical properties of its vulcanizates has been conducted. The research started from rubber mastication with variation of carbon black filler addition into rubber compound. Rubber compound was then measured to identify its curing characteristic using rheometer and tested its viscosity using Mooney viscosity tester. Physical properties of rubber vulcanizates such as abrasion resistance, tear strength, and elongation at break were also measured. The results indicated that curing characteristic tended to decrease, while only scorch time tended to increase from B1, B2, B3 and B4. Elongation at break tended to decrease, while tear resistance and abrasion resistance tended to increase from B1, B2, B3 and B4. Mooney viscosity of the compound also tended to decrease. It can be concluded that B1 is better than B2, B3 and B4. However, if rubber vulcanizates require high tear resistance and abrasion resistance, such as for shoes sole and tread of tire, then B4 is the most appropriate vulcanizate.
