Abstract

This research is conducted to determine the furfural rendement of the corn-knob with the varieties of heating periods of 2; 2.5; 3; 3.5; and 4 hours. This methods used were, first, the hydrolysis of the corn-knob using HCl with the varieties of heating periods as mentioned above. Then it was continued by the extraction and purification of the furfural through distillation. The resulted furfural is identified by the acetic-anilin color reaction, infrared spectrophotometer, refractive index and GC-MS. The identification result was compare with the furfural standard. The result of this research shows that average rendement was 8.43% for the heating period of 2 hours, 9.67%, for 2.5 hours, 11.57% for 3 hours, 13.30% for 3.5 hours and 12.59% for 4 hours.

Abstract

Intention of activity of this Pengabdian pada Masyarakat (PKM) is to conduct activity of training and is adjacent of partner Industri Kecil Menengah (IKM) in developing the effort shallot fry. Partner during the time have run the effort shallot fry traditionally, yielded to be product to be sold to whole sale. Special goals to be got by partner are skilled way of making shallot fry which with quality evaluated from health side and competent sell. Owning knowledge and earn system applied of management marketing and its business activity, owning good packaging and also have permission legality of is effort. Efektivity and of optimalization of program through giving of training and adjacent in making of shallot fry, giving training of managemen of marketing, assisting to make packaging desain and manage permission legality is effort. Results of this activity indicate that partner very enthusiastic followed of training phase and is adjacent effort which is conducted. Partner feel to like because its effort permission of its fair to middling quality of goodness, its legality also have fufilled big sebagain so that partner feel balmy to run the effort. Ability to produce shallot fry to be expected increasing so that will push society create employment and improving economics and production.

Abstract

Two known alkylated flavonoid namely matteucinol dan matteucinol-7-O-b-D-glucoside was isolated for the first time from the fern Chingia sakayensis (Zeiller) Holtt's stem. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic evidence and by comparation with those reported data in literature.

Abstract

A sunscreen compound namely n-octyl para-methoxy cinnamat (OPMC) had been synthesized from the ethyl para-methoxy cinnamat (EPMC) isolated from the kencur tuber (Kaemferia galanga L.) as the raw material. The convertion of EPMC to OPMC was conducted by hydrolysis reaction of EPMC using the alcoholic KOH solution catalyst to yield para-methoxy cinnamat acid (PMCA). Futhermore, the esterification reaction of PMCA and n-octanol, using the concentrated sulfuric acid catalyst produced OPMC as a colorless needle crystal with rendemen 53.98%. The molecular structure of OPMC was identified by spectroscopic methods including UV, IR, 1H-NMR, and EIMS.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the influence of the extraction temperature on the rendement and pectin methoxyl contents of waterhyacinth with the applied temperatures ranged from 60, 70, 80, 90 and 100 °C.The stages of this research involve extraction, precipitation, washing and drying. The pectin produced was, then, identified by reacting it with water, ethanol 96 %, NaOH and spectrophotometer IR. Its product was, then, compared to the comparing pectin. To determine the methoxyl contents, the acid - base titration was used. The resulting data were analysed and tested using One Direction Anava with SPSS 10.0 program. From the quantitative used by this study, pectin was produced. This is shown by the gel-formation. The rendements produced with the extraction temperatures of 60, 70, 80, 90 and 100 °C were 0,428 %; 0,487 %; 0,629 %; 0,774 % and 0,958% respectively. While its methoxyl contents were 3,879 %; 3,993 %; 4,413 %; 3,573 % and 2,837 %. Based on the analysed data, it was found that the treatment with the extraction temperature gives a significant influence on the rendement and pectin methoxyl contents of waterhyacinth.

Abstract

Four known phenolic compounds namely kaemferol, matteucinol, farrerol, and matteucinol-7-O-β-D-glucoside were isolated for the first time from the fern Chingia sakayensis (Zeiller) Holtt’s. All substances were separated by chromatographic techniques, purified by recrystalization, elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic evidence and by comparation with those reported data in literature. These results were very important to study the phytochemicals of the other fern in Chingia genus based on the chemotaxonomic approach.

Abstract

Ibu-ibu warga Desa Marengan Laok, Kec. Kalianget, Sumenep diketahui bahwa mereka belum berpengalaman dalam membuat minuman kesehatan berbasis herbal dalam bentuk cair. Sementara itu bahan untuk membuatnya banyak ditanam di sekitar rumah warga atau dengan mudah dapat diperoleh di pasar terdekat. Banyaknya warung-warung makanan, toko, dan tempat penginapan yang berada di wilayah Desa Marengan Laok, Kec. Kalianget Sumenep ditambah lagi Sumenep sebagai kota wisata sangat mendukung penjualan produk minuman kesehatan berbasis herbal tersebut. Oleh karena itu, tim pelaksana mencoba memberikan kegiatan pelatihan kepada ibu-ibu rumah tangga warga desa tersebut untuk meningkatkan keterampilannya dalam pembuatan minuman kesehatan berbasis herbal yang hasilnya dapat berpotensi untuk meningkatkan pendapatan ekonomi keluarga. Pelatihan pembuatan berbagai minuman kesehatan berbasis herbal berbentuk cair yaitu sirup empon-empon dan wedang alang-alang yang siap dijual di warung dan toko jamu. Kegiatan PKM ini telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus 2019 dengan melibatkan 9 orang ibu rumah tangga desa Marengan Laok yang diawali dengan pemaparan materi pelatihan oleh Tim PKM, dilanjutkan dengan pendampingan praktek pembuatan minuman kesehatan berbasis herbal, dan diakhiri dengan refleksi/umpan balik serta pemberian angket. Target kegiatan PKM ini adalah meningkatnya keterampilan ibu-ibu rumah tangga desa Marengan Laok dalam pembuatan minuman kesehatan berbasis herbal. Adapun hasil angket dapat diketahui bahwa kegiatan PKM dinyatakan telah berjalan dengan baik dan peserta mampu memahami dan terampil dalam membuat minuman kesehatan berbasis herbal tersebut. Saran peserta antara lain lama waktu pelatihan hendaknya ditambah, frekuensi pelatihan hendaknya sesering mungkin, dan ragam minuman kesehatan berbasis herbal ditambah lagi.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan struktur molekul serta mengetahui tingkat toksisitas senyawa hasil isolasi dari ekstrak daun puring (Codiaeum varigatum L. BI.) terhadap larva Artemia salina. Penentuan struktur molekul dilakukan dengan metode isolasi dan identifikasi. Isolasi dilakukan dengan metode ekstraksi, pemisahan dilakukan dengan metode KCV dan KKG, serta pemurnian dilakukan dengan metode rekristalisasi. Identifikasi dilakukan dengan spektrofotometri UV ? VIS, FTIR, dan GCMS. Uji tingkat toksisitas senyawa hasil isolasi dilakukan dengan metode BSLT. Pada proses ekstraksi dihasilkan ekstrak kental sebanyak 7,096 gram. Selanjutnya, pada proses isolasi daun puring menghasilkan isolat yang berupa kristal berwarna putih sebanyak 0,7219 gram. Berdasarkan hasil identifikasi, isolat yang dihasilkan merupakan dua senyawa yaitu terpenoid dan steroid dengan titik leleh 252 ? 2530C. Hasil spektrofotometri UV ? VIS menunjukkan serapan maksimum pada panjang gelombang 210 nm. Sementara hasil spektrofotometri FTIR menunjukkan adanya gugus OH pada bilangan gelombang 3433,41 cm-1. Regang C-H alkil pada bilangan gelombang 2958,90 dan 2868,24 cm-1, adanya serapan lemah yang menunjukkan gugus C = C pada bilangan gelombang 1660,77 dan 1639,55 cm-1. Adanya gugus tekuk C ? H pada bilangan gelombang 1062,81 cm-1, adanya gugus C ? C pada bilangan gelombang 1022,31 cm-1, adanya gugus metil (CH3) pada bilangan gelombang 1381,08 cm-1. Berdasarkan hasil spektrofotometri GCMS, menunjukkan bahwa isolat merupakan senyawa Lupeol dengan m/z 426 [M+] dan senyawa ? Sitosterol dengan m/z 414 [M+]. Tingkat toksisitas senyawa hasil isolasi dari ekstrak daun puring (Codiaeum varigatum L. BI.) terhadap Artemia salina memiliki tingkat toksisitas sangat toksik dengan nilai LC50 sebesar 66,33 ?g/mL. Kata kunci : Isolasi, uji toksisitas, Artemia salina, Codiaeum varigatum L. BI. Abstract. This research aims to determine the molecular structure and to determine the toxicity of the isolated compound from Puring (Codiaeum varigatum L. BI.) leaves extract to Artemia salina larvae. In this research, determine the molecular structure is done by isolation and identification methods. The isolation was done by extraction method, the separation was done by vacuum liquid chromatography (KCV) and column gravity chromatography (KKG), and purification was done by recrystallization method. Identification was done by UV ? VIS, FTIR, and GCMS spectroscopy. While the toxicity level test of the isolated compound was done by BSLT method. In the extraction process resulting viscous extract as much as 7,096 grams. Then, on isolation process of Puring?s leaf resulting isolates in the form white crystal as much as 0,7219 grams. Based on the identification results, the isolates produced were estimated mixed compounds terpenoid and steroids with melting point of 252 - 2530C and is a white crystalline. UV - VIS spectrophotometry results show maximum absorption at 210 nm wavelength. While the result of IR spectrophotometry showed the presence of OH group at wave number 3433,41 cm-1. Strain C-H alkyl on wave number 2958,90 and 2868,24 cm-1, weak absorption showed C = C group at wave number 1660,77 and 1639,55 cm-1. The presence of a C - H buckling group in the wave number 1062.81 cm-1, the presence of C - C groups in the wave number 1022.31 cm-1, the presence of methyl group (CH3) at wave number 1381,08 cm-1. Based on MS spectrophotometry results, the isolates were Lupeol compounds with m / z 426 [M+] and ?-Sitosterol compounds with m / z 414 [M+]. The level of toxicity of the isolated compound of Lupeol and ? - Sitosterol from puring leaf extract (Codiaeum varigatum L. BI.) to Artemia salina by BSLT method has very toxic with LC50 value of 66,33 ?g / mL.Keywords : Isolation, toxicity test, Artemia salina, Codiaeum varigatum (L.) BI.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan metabolit sekunder ekstrak etanol kayu secang dan kayu manis, aktivitas antioksidan kayu secang, kayu manis, dan kombinasi keduanya serta kadar kombinasi ekstrak etanol kombinasi kayu secang dan kayu manis yang memberikan aktivitas antioksidan tertinggi. Pada penelitian ini sampel di ekstraksi dengan cara maserasi, kemudian dilakukan uji fitokimia, uji pendahuluan antioksidan, uji aktivitas antioksidan tunggal, dan uji aktivitas antioksidan kombinasi. Uji fitokimia ekstrak etanol kayu secang memberikan hasil positif mengandung senyawa flavonoid, fenolik, tanin, dan triterpenoid, sedangkan ekstrak etanol kayu manis memberikan hasil positif mengandung senyawa flavonoid, saponin, fenolik, dan tanin. Uji kuantitatif aktivitas antioksidan kayu secang dengan menggunakan metode DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-pikrilhydrazil) menunjukkan nilai IC50 sebesar 164,782 ppm dan kayu manis sebesar 193,139 ppm. Uji aktivitas antioksidan kombinasi kayu secang dan kayu manis dengan variasi perbandingan 1:3, 2:2, 3:1 berturut-turut yaitu sebesar 423,820 ppm, 246,692 ppm, 182,352 ppm dandapatdisimpulkanbahwaekstraketanolkayusecangdankayumanisserta kombinasi kayu secang dan kayu manis dengan variasi perbandingan 2:2 dan 3:1 dikategorikan mempunyai aktivitas antioksidan yang secang karena nilai IC50 berada pada rentang 100-250 ppm, sedangkan untuk kombinasi kayu secang kayu manis dengan perbandingan 1:3 dikategorikan mempunyai aktivitas antioksidan yang lemah karena nilai IC50 berada pada rentang 250-500 ppm. Kata kunci: Aktivitas antioksidan, ekstrak etanol, kayu secang, kayu manis.Abstract. Theeaim of the research is to determine the secondary metabolite content of ethanol extract from secang wood and cinnamon, the antioxidant activity of secang wood, cinnamon and the combination of both and the combination of ethanol extract of secang wood and cinnamon which gives the highest antioxidant activity. In this research sample is extracted by means of maceration, then phytochemical test, preliminary test the antioxidant activity, single antioxidant activity test, and combination antioxidant activity test.Phytochemical test of ethanol extract of secang wood gave positive result containing flavonoid, phenolic, tannin, and triterpenoid compounds, while ethanol extract of cinnamon gave positive result containing flavonoid, saponin, phenolic, and tannin. Quantitative test antioxidant activity of secang wood by using DPPH method (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrilhydrazil) showed the result with IC50 value of 164,782 ppm and cinnamon 193,139 ppm. The combination test of antioxidant activity of secang wood and cinnamon with variation ratio off1:3, 2:2, 3:1 respectively that is equal to 423,820 ppm, 246,692 ppm, 182,352 ppm and it can be concluded that ethanol extract of secang wood and cinnamon and combination of secang wood and cinnamon with variation ratio of 2:2 and 3:1 be categorized has antioxidant activity medium because IC50 value being in a range 100-250 ppm, while for combination of secang wood and cinnamon with variation ratio 1:3 be categorized has antioxidant activity weak because IC50 value being in a range 250-500 ppm. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan struktur molekul senyawa hasil isolasi dari ekstrak etil asetat kulit batang bidara (Ziziphus mauritiana Lamk) serta untuk mengetahui aktivitasnya sebagai antijamur terhadap Candida albicans. Isolasi senyawa dilakukan secara bertahap diawali dengan ekstraksi menggunakan metode maserasi, ekstrak yang dihasilkan diuji fitokimia, pemisahan dilakukan dengan metode kromatografi cair vakum (KCV) dan kromatografi kolom gravitasi (KKG) yang dimonitoring dengan kromatografi lapis tipis (KLT), pemurnian senyawa dilakukan dengan metode rekristalisasi, dan penentuan struktur molekul menggunakan metode spektroskopi UV-Vis, FT-IR, dan GC-MS, serta pengujian aktivitas antijamur dengan metode difusi cakram. Hasil uji fitokimia menunjukkan adanya kandungan senyawa golongan alkaloid, fenolik, flavonoid, saponin, tanin, dan steroid. Hasil analisis data spektroskopi UV-Vis, FT-IR, dan GC-MS menunjukkan isolat yang diperoleh diduga merupakan senyawa 2,4-di-tert-butilfenol. Hasil uji aktivitas antijamur terhadap Candida albicans menunjukkan isolat dengan konsentrasi 0,9% tidak memiliki aktivitas antijamur, pada konsentrasi 2,6%, 5,2%, 7,6%, dan 9,8% diperoleh diameter zona hambat berturut-turut sebesar 0,5 mm, 1 mm, dan 2,125, dan 3,25 mm yang termasuk dalam kategori lemah dalam menghambat pertumbuhan jamur Candida albicans.Kata kunci:Ziziphus mauritiana Lamk, etil asetat, 2,4-di-tert-butilfenol, aktivitas antijamur.
