Abstract

The aim of the study was to describe the changes of sacharide monomer and functional groups of Fe-dietary fiber complex at boiling with acidic medium. The research was designed as the Pre test-Post test Control Group, the treatment of variation pH (pH 3 and 7) and boiling time (raw and 35 minutes). The dependent variables were sacharide monomer of dietary fiber and functional groups of Fe-dietary fiber complex. FeSO4. 7 H2O was added as source of mineral Fe. The results of the study showed: 1) At pH 3-boiling time 35’ treatment, no changes to kinds of dietary fiber sacharide monomer, however changes of monomer content. 2) At pH 3-35’ treatment, the Fe binding both to lignin and cellulose at –OH groups, but it was not able to bind hemicellulose. At raw-pH 7, the Fe binding to lignin at –OH, -COOH groups; to cellulose at –OH, -CH2-O-CH2-, -COO groups; while to hemicellulose at –OH groups.

Abstract

Abstract: Curriculum 2013 recommended that the learning is done with a scientific approach.  The key to the success of this learning approach is the student ability to ask critical questioning. Some studies of chemistry learning show students have difficulty to ask critical questions (Katchevich & Hofstein, 2013; Eshach et al., 2014; Santoso, 2014). These problem can certainly reduce the level of activity of students in constructing their own knowledge based on what is becoming a problem for him. To overcome these problems, it is necessary the development of inquiry learning that involves students asking question during the learning takes place. This article describes the development of learning “critical question - inquiry based for learning Chemistry", which is derived from theoretical studies that have been validated by several experts of learning science.Key words: ask question, inquiryAbstrak:  Kurikulum 2013 merekomendasikan agar pembelajaran dilakukan dengan pendekatan ilmiah (scientific approach). Kunci keberhasilan pendekatan pembelajaran ini adalah kemampuan siswa mengajukan pertanyaan kritis. Beberapa hasil studi pembelajaran kimia terungkap bahwa pertanyaan siswa yang muncul sangat sederhana  dengan frekuensi aktivitas mengajukan pertanyaan rendah (Katchevich & Hofstein,2013; Eshach et al., 2014; Santoso, 2014). Keadaan  seperti  ini  tentu  dapat mengurangi tingkat aktivitas mahasiswa dalam membangun pengetahuan mereka sendiri berdasarkan apa yang menjadi masalah bagi dirinya. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, perlu pengembangan pembelajaran inkuiri yang melibatkan siswa bertanya selama pembelajaran berlangsung. Artikel ini memaparkan pengembangan pembelajaran “bertanya kritis berbasis inkuiri (BKBI) untuk pembelajaran Kimia”, yang diperoleh dari hasil kajian teoritik yang telah divalidasi oleh beberapa ahli pembelajaran sains.Kata kunci: bertanya, inkuiri

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) to develop appropriate biology instruction materials for the pilot international standard junior high school students, and  2)  to describe the implementation results of the developed biology instruction materials for the pilot international standard junior high school students.  Instructional materials consisted of the lesson plans, the student?s worksheet, the student?s book and the achievement test were developed by implementing reciprocal teaching approach. Research subject for the first implementation of  the developed biology instruction materials was twelve students and the second implementation was  twenty-three students of The Pilot International Standard Junior High School 1 Ngoro Mojokerto. Research Design for the implementation was one group pretest-postest design. The instructional materials had been validated and the results showed that  the instructional materials were appropriate to be implemented.  Observations were made during the implementation of the teaching and learning materials and the results showed that the teaching learning activities were consistent with the instructional implementation plans.  The implementation results showed that all of the students involved were able to meet the minimum competency standard prescribed by the school.  Students activities were dominated by pointing out  important conceps of the text  and asking questions. Most of the students gave positif respons to the instructional process.  So, it could be concluded the developed biology instruction materials for the pilot international standard junior high school students by implementing reciprocal teaching approach for the topic human breathing system were effective to achieve the prescribed competency.Penelitian ini bertujuan: 1) mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran biologi SMP RSBI yang layak untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran, dan 2) mendeskripsikan hasil penerapan perangkat pembelajaran biologi SMP RSBI.  Perangkat pembelajaran dikembangkan dengan  berorientasi pendekatan reciprocal teaching  pada materi sistem pernapasan manusia. Subyek penelitian adalah perangkat pembelajaran yang terdiri dari rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran, buku ajar, lembar kegiatan siswa dan tes hasil belajar.  Subyek penelitian pada tahap ujicoba satu  adalah 12 siswa dan ujicoba dua adalah 23 siswa SMPN 1 Ngoro Mojokerto.  Penerapan perangkat pembelajaran pada saat ujicoba, menggunakan desain penelitian one group pretest-posttest design.  Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan adalah layak untuk  digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Tingkat kesulitan dan keterbacaan buku ajar dan lembar kegiatan siswa berkategori sedang dan tepat untuk pembelajaran. Hasil penerapan perangkat pembelajaran menunjukkan bahwa keterlaksanaan pembelajaran berkategori baik, aktivitas siswa selama pembelajaran didominasi oleh aktivitas menyampaikan konsep penting suatu bacaan dan mengajukan pertanyaan.  Hasil belajar siswa menunjukkan bahwa semua siswa tuntas pada ujicoba satu dan dua. Sebagian besar siswa  memberikan respon yang positif terhadap  pembelajaran. Disimpulkan bahwa pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran biologi SMP RSBI berorientasi pendekatan  reciprocal teaching pada materi sistem pernapasan manusia, efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

The aim of the study is to find the effect of dietary fiber components content to the percentage of bound iron by dietary fiber macromolecules at acidity and length of boiling time variation. Yard long bean super green variety as dietary fiber sources. The factorial design was applied at pH 4 and 7 with boiling time of 0 (raw), 5, 15, and 25 minutes; the content of dietary fiber components and percentage bound iron as dependent variables. Two way analysis of variance, least significant difference, and multiple regression analysis were applied. Significance level (α) = 5%.The results of the study reveal that acidity, length of boiling time, and its interaction have effect to the bound iron, but have no effect on pectic substances, hemicellulose and lignin. Decreasing pH and increasing boiling time will increase in cellulose, due to the formation of resistant starch. The content of dietary fiber components has no effect on percentage bound iron; pectic substances and hemicellulose have positif effect, while lignin and cellulose have negatif effect on percentage bound iron.

Abstract

Artikel ini sengaja dikemas dalam judul kalimat tanya karena hasil akhir dari penelitian yang dilakukan belum sampai kepada jawaban atas pertanyaan itu. Penelitian yang telah dilakukan adalah mengidentifikasi miskonsepsi kimia yang terjadi baik pada siswa maupun pada guru kimia di SMA. Untuk mendekatkan temuan penelitian kepada pertanyaan pada judul, maka identifikasi miskonsepsi dilakukan pada substansi kimia yang sama yaitu asam basa. Pengelompokan siswa maupun guru kimia ke dalam tiga status yaitu tahu konsep, tidak tahu konsep, dan miskonsepsi menggunakan metode CRI (Certainty of Response Index). Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini: (1) masih didapati sejumlah siswa (rerata 11,5% dari sampel penelitian) yang berada pada status miskonsepsi pada asam basa dan (2) masih didapati sejumlah guru kimia (22,7% dari sampel penelitian) yang berada pada status miskonsepsi pada asam basa. Terdapat perbedaan sebaran dan intensitas miskonsepsi sub-sub konsep asam basa antara siswa SMA dan guru kimia. Telah diperoleh data awal untuk melakukan riset lanjutan untuk menjawab pertanyaan yang dijadikan judul artikel saat ini. This  Research has been done is to identify the chemical misconceptions that occur both on the students and the chemistry teachers in senior high school. To bring the  research findings to the question in the title, so the identification of misconceptions performed on the same chemical substance that is acid-base. Grouping students and chemistry teachers into three groups, namely matering   concept,  unknowing  the concept, and misconceptions using CRI (Certainty of Response Index). The results obtained from this study: (1) was found to be a number of students (mean 11.5% of the study sample) who are on misconceptions on acid-base status and (2) was found to be a chemistry teacher (22.7% of the study sample) misconceptions that are on the acid-base status. There are differences in the distribution and intensity of misconceptions sub-acid-base concepts among high school students and chemistry teachers. Preliminary data have been obtained to conduct further research to answer questions that used the title of the current article. Key words: acid-base, CRI method, misconceptions

Abstract

The research purposed to know the implementation result of the learning model of pemaknaan on the topic of acid base titration could be used to develop on the eleventh grade students? character of SMAN 1 Krian. In the research, it was used pre-experimental research by the replication of three times using the design of one group pretest and posttest design. This  reseach used the data analysis of qualitative descriptive to apply on lesson plan (RPP). The learning outcome of students? character was analized by qualitative descriptive and would be continued by Mann-Whitney test for it?s replication. The results were reported that: (1) The lesson plan (RPP) was made based on syntax of the learning model of pemaknaan was conducted very well, (2) The implementation of this model could develop the students? character. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil penerapan model pembelajaran pemaknaan pada materi titrasi asam basa terhadap perkembangan karakter siswa kelas XI SMAN 1 Krian. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-eksperimen replikasi tiga kali melalui One Group Pretest and Posttest Design. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif untuk keterlaksanaan RPP. Hasil belajar karakter siswa dianalisis dengan deskriptif kualitatif yang dilanjutkan dengan uji Mann-Whitney untuk antar hasil replikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan RPP yang disusun sesuai sintaks model pembelajaran pemaknaan berjalan dengan sangat baik, penerapan model pembelajaran pemaknaan dapat mengembangkan karakter siswa.

Abstract

The research aims to develop inquiry learning materials to facilitate science process skills and science concept mastery the junior high school students in energy and works matter. The research was conducted through two phase that is development phase by using 4-D models and implementation phase using one group pretest-posttest design. Data collection methods used test and observation, while the data analysis techniques using inferential parametric, quantitative descriptive, and qualitative descriptive. The result were obtained: the devices that have been developed are generally categorized as well; RPP performing well; activity is the dominant doing observation; The results also showed that mean of N-gain score mastery of concepts in high category; science process skills in high category; students mastery of the concept after learning improving; students responses to learning a positive model of inquiry. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the develop inquiry learning materials effective that can be applied in learning activities in grade VIII of SMP.

Abstract

This research aims to explain learning application using model pembelajaran pemaknaan on chemical bonding topic including  the  student activities, students response and learning outcome of the students?character of honest, discipline and cooperative. The subject are students of the tenth grade at SMKN 3 Buduran Sidoarjo at the second semester in 2011-2012. In research, it was used pre experimental research by the replication of three times using the design of one group pretest and posttest. Based on the data that had been analyzed were obtained some findings a) observation of learning activity conducted was well b) the observation of  students?  characters  during the learning activities  were very good predicate in honest, dicipline and cooperative. Based on experimental result and discussion it can be concluded that the implementation of the model pembelajaran pemaknaan could develop the astudents? character of an honest, disciplined and cooperative. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskankan  penerapan model pembelajaran pemaknaan pada materi ikatan kimia terhadap keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, aktivitas siswa, respon siswa dan pengembangan karakter jujur, disiplin dan kerjasama siswa. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X SMKN 3 Buduran Sidoarjo pada semester II tahun ajaran 2011-2012. Jenis penelitian pre eksperimen, menggunakan desain penelitian  one group pretest postest dengan replikasi tiga kali. Berdasarkan analisis data penelitian diperoleh temuan a) pengamatan terhadap keterlaksanaan pembelajaran berkategori baik b) pengamatan terhadap karakter  jujur, disiplin dan kerjasama selama proses pembelajaran mengalami peningkatan dengan berpredikat baik. Berdasarkan hasil dan diskusi penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran pemaknaan dapat mengembangkan karakter jujur, disiplin dan kerjasama siswa.

Abstract

Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui keterlaksanaan pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing, kompetensi psikomotorik, dan afektif siswa melalui pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dengan melatihkan keterampilan proses yang dirancang mengikuti pola pengintegrasian kurikulum nested. Rancangan penelitian ini menggunakan One Group Pretest-Posttest Design, dilaksanakan dalam tiga kali pertemuan dan melibatkan siswa kelas XI IPA 5 dan XI IPA 6 SMA Negeri 2 Surabaya. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi: lembar pengamatan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, kompetensi psikomotorik, dan afektif siswa. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pembelajaran sesuai dengan sintaks pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing mendapat kategori penilaian baik. Kompetensi psikomotorik siswa secara umum berkategori baik, kompetensi yang dominan adalah bekerjasama dan keterampilan dalam mengukur suhu dengan termometer. Kompetensi afektif siswa secara umum berkategori baik, meliputi berpendapat, jujur, dan kerjasama.

Abstract

The aim of the research was to describe the interaction mechanism of Fe with yard long bean dietary fiber macromolecules at gastrointestinal system in-vitro, through the combination of acidity and boiling time. The research based on the factorial experimental design, with two independent variables, i.e. acidity medium (pH 3, 4, 5, 6, 7)and boiling time (0/raw, 5, 20, 35 minutes). Dependent variables were iron binding percentage, effective stability constants (Keff), and adsorption constants (Kads). Scatchard and Langmuir graph methods through Keff and Kads were then applied to determine the mechanism of iron interaction. The results of the research showed that the highest binding Fe by dietary fiber at pH 7- raw, and lowest at pH 3- boiling time 35 minutes. The iron binding pattern by dietary fiber at gastrointestinal system is through formation of complex compound that more prominent than physically adsorption, and involved two types of specific binding sites, one of which showed a higher affinity than the other.
