Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify learning obstacle precisely on students' epistemological barriers to the concept of geometry transformation. Furthermore, researchers overcome these obstacles by developing mathematical learning concepts in the concept of geometry transformation in high school. This research was conducted at one of the senior high school in Tangerang Selatan. The research method used is Didactical Design Research. This method is carried out in three stages, the analysis of didactic situations before learning (prospective analysis), metapedidactic analysis, and retrospective analysis. Based on the results of the preliminary study, of the 20 students who took the obstacle learningidentificationtest,82.35%ofthetotalstudentsexperiencedepistemologicalbarrierstotheconceptofgeometry transformation. In overcoming the epistemological obstacles students in the concept of geometric transformation requires the design of learning developed based on learning obstacle analysis, repersonalization, and recontextualization so as to produce hypotheses consisting of Hypothetical Learning Trajectory which contains various activities and predictions of student responses and anticipations and produces Student Worksheets. The results show that the didactic design provided can overcome student barriers. It can be seen from the effectiveness of anticipation given during learning that reaches 90% of the difficulties that arise based on predictions of response and anticipated didactic pedagogical.

Abstract

The critical thinking skill  is part of the 21st century competencies that students need to master. This study aims to analyze the effect of the application of the Argument Driven Inquiry with Scaffolding (ADIS) learning strategy on students' mathematical critical thinking skills. Critical thinking skills measured in this study include the ability of students to formulate problems, provide reasons, make conclusions, and analyze arguments. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a Posttest-Only Control Design. The research was conducted at one of the Bekasi City Junior High Schools in the even semester of the 2019/2020 school year. Sampling using the cluster random sampling technique and data collection techniques using test instruments that have been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed that the mathematical critical thinking skills of students taught with ADIS learning strategies were higher than students taught with conventional learning strategies. Therefore, the ADIS strategy can be used by teachers in learning mathematics at schools/madrasahs in an effort to improve mathematical critical thinking skills.

Abstract

AbstractMathematical literacy (ML) skill is important because the activities of everyday life are related to mathematics and require prompt and in-depth understanding. Therefore, this study aims to examine the ML skill of madrasah students in Indonesia both as a whole and based on the level of madrasah (MI, MTs, and MA). The sampling technique was then adopted Random Assignment, which obtained a total of 3,285 students from 26 regions in Indonesia. Furthermore, a qualitative descriptive method with a survey technique was used. The instrument used for the was the PISA design with an Islamic context in the form of a description. The results showed the ML skill of madrasah students in Indonesia has an average of 17.23%, with Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) having 6.39%, Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) with 20.01%, and Madrasah Aliyah (MA) with 25.29%. The low ML skill is because most of the students do not understand the context in the questions. The context in the assessment of this skill is important because it helps students to remember what they have learned, relate them to the problems, and offer a solution that fits the given context. Another cause is the lack of using problems that have the characters of PISA questions in the learning process. Therefore, the students are less trained in working on contextual questions and require high-level thinking.AbstrakKemampuan literasi matematis sangat penting karena kegiatan yang dilakukan manusia dalam kehidupan sehari-hari banyak sekali yang berkaitan dengan matematika dan memerlukan pemahaman literasi dalam penyelesaiannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kemampuan literasi matematis siswa madrasah di Indonesia baik secara keseluruhan maupun berdasarkan tingkat madrasah (MI, MTs, dan MA). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di 26 wilayah yang ada di Indonesia dengan teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah Random Assignment dan diperoleh sampel penelitian sebanyak 3285 siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik survey.  Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa instrumen tes kemampuan literasi matematis menggunakan desain PISA dengan konteks keislaman yang berbentuk uraian. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan literasi matematis siswa madrasah di Indonesia memiliki rata-rata 17, 23%. Kemampuan literasi matematis untuk siswa Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) sebesar 6,39%, untuk siswa Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) sebesar 20,01% dan untuk siswa Madrasah Aliyah (MA) sebesar 25,29%. Salah satu penyebab rendahnya kemampuan literasi matematis siswa madrasah di Indonesia dikarenakan kebanyakan siswa tidak memahami konteks dalam soal. Konteks dalam penilaian literasi matematis merupakan hal yang sangat penting, sebab konteks membawa pola pikir siswa untuk mengingat ulang konsep-konsep yang telah dipelajarinya, menghubungkan dengan permasalahan yang ada dalam konteks, kemudian memformulasikan suatu solusi yang sesuai dengan konteks yang diberikan. Penyebab lain adalah kurangnya penggunaan masalah yang memiliki karakter seperti soal PISA dalam proses pembelajaran sehingga siswa kurang terlatih dalam mengerjakan soal yang kontekstual dan menuntut untuk berpikir tingkat tinggi.  How to Cite: Kurniawati, L. Abstract

Abstract One of many problems in the madrasahs is that learning processes less-involve students actively (teacher-centered), thus, it affects to the improvement of learning outcomes and quality of the graduates. The purposes of this study are , firstly, to analyze what type of constructivism learning models, which can be developed to overcome madrasahs’ problems. Secondly, how to design and implement a learning plan based on the developed constructivism models. This research was conducted at Private Islamic Elementary School  (Madrasah) Ad-Diyanah Ciputat, South Tangerang. Research method used in this study is descriptive-qualitative research. The results showed that the active learning models based on constructivism are suitable to be developed in the Madarasah, which were the models of Problem Based Learning (PBM), Realistic Learning, Inquiry Learning and Thematic Learning and also how the development of the learning processes from the lesson plans to the learning implementation showed a paradigm shifting from teacher-centered to student-centered. Abstrak Salah satu permasalahan di madrasah-madrasah adalah proses pembelajaran yang kurang melibatkan siswa secara aktif (berpusat pada guru), sehingga hal ini mengakibatkan pada peningkatan hasil belajar dan kualitas lulusan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah, pertama, untuk menganalisis jenis model pembelajaran konstruktivisme apa yang dapat dikembangkan untuk mengatasi permasalahan di madrasah. Ke dua, bagaimana merancang dan melaksanakan rencana pembelajaran berdasarkan model konstruktivisme yang dikembangkan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Sekolah Dasar Swasta (madrasah) Ad-Diayanah Ciputat, Tangerang Selatan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif-kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran aktif yang berbasis konstruktivisme sesuai untuk dikembangkan di madrasah, yakni model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL), Pembelajaran Realistis, Pembelajaran Inkuiri dan Pembelajaran Tematik, juga bagaimana pengembangan proses pembelajaran dari rencana pembelajaran ke pelaksanaan pembelajaran menunjukkan perubahan paradigma dari berpusat-pada-guru menjadi berpusat-pada-siswa. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari penerapan GraphicOrganizer terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan di MTs. Negeri 3 Jakarta pada semester 2 tahun ajaran 2014/ 2015. Metode yang digunakan untuk penelitian ini ialah quasi eksperimen yang menggunakan desain penelitian randomize sample posttest-only control groupdesign. Subyek pada penelitian ini berjumlah 73 siswa yang terdiri dari 37 siswa dalam kelas eksperimen dan 36 siswa kelas kontrol pada kelas VIII. GraphicOrganizer merupakan suatu bentuk visual dua dimensi yang menggambarkan hubungan antara fakta, ide, istilah, konsep, dan sebagainya. Kemampuan representasi matematis merupakan proses menyampaikan ide-ide, konsep pengetahuan tentang suatu hal melalui deskripsi dari sebuah objek melalui bentuk visual, simbol dan verbal sebagai alat untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan yang dihadapi. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah kemampuan representasi matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan Graphic Organizer lebih tinggi daripada kemampuan representasi matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional.

Abstract

Kemampuan komunikasi matematis merupakan salah satu kemampuan matematika yang harus dicapai oleh siswa setelah belajar matematika sehingga perlu terus dikembangkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain pretest-posttest control design, yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan komunikasi matematis guru MI program DMS dengan pendekatan MEAs. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh guru MI program DMS Putaran III, dan pengambilan sampel penelitian dilakukan secara purposive sampling. Penelitian ini terdiri dari dua kelas pembelajaran, yaitu pembelajaran dengan pendekatan MEAs dan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan konvensional. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan angket pandangan mahasiswa. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis mahasiswa yang belajar dengan menggunakan pendekatan MEAs lebih baik daripada kemampuan komunikasi matematis mahasiswa yang belajar dengan menggunakan pendekatan konvensional dan secara umum mahasiswa cenderung memiliki pandangan yang positif baik terhadap pelajaran matematika maupun terhadap pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan MEAs. Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh pendekatan Shift-Problem Lesson terhadap kemampuan berpikir reflektif matematis siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMKS Islamiyah Ciputat, tahun akademik 2017/2018. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimental dengan desain kontrol posttest only. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 22 siswa kelas eksperimen dan 24 siswa kelas kontrol yang diperoleh dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan berpikir reflektif matematis siswa dalam bentuk uraian matematis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir reflektif matematis siswa yang diajar menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran Shift-Problem Lesson secara keseluruhan lebih tinggi dibandingkan siswa yang diajar menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran konvensional. Kemampuan reflektif matematis meliputi menafsirkan indikator, mengidentifikasi, mengevaluasi, dan menggeneralisasi. Pencapaian kemampuan reflektif matematis dalam indikator untuk mengevaluasi lebih baik dibandingkan dengan menafsirkan indikator, mengidentifikasi dan menggeneralisasi. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan pembelajaran Shift-Problem Lesson berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan berpikir reflektif matematis siswa.

Abstract

Students need to possess the right life and career skills to face future life challenges. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of the life skills of mathematics teachers on high school students in Indonesia. Data were collected from 190 mathematics teachers and 627 high school students through questionnaires consisting of 15 and 45 statements for both parties. The data collected were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method and the Smart-PLS v.3.2.9 software. The results showed that the understanding of mathematics teachers (77.50%) and high school students (83%) concerning life and career skills is in a good category. Meanwhile, their life skills are in a low category due to teachers’ difficulties in translating life and career skills in planning and implementing mathematics learning. This means that the mathematics learning methods developed by teachers do not explore students' potential. Moreover, teachers’ life skills did not significantly affect each student's indicator. Only two indicators had a medium effect, namely responsibility and flexibility on leadership as well asadaptability and flexibility on initiative and self-direction
