Abstract

This quasi-experiment research aimed to know the effectiveness of implementation of cooperative learning model of group investigation viewed from students mathematical conceptual comprehension. The population of the study was all students of grade VII of SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Bandar Lampung in academic year of 2014/2015 which consist of four classes with the samples were students of VII A and VII D class which were selected by purposive sampling technique. The design which was used was posttest only control design. The data of students mathematical conceptual comprehension was obtained from essay test. The result of research showed that the implementation of cooperative learning model of group investigation was effective viewed by mathematical conceptual comprehension and more effective than conventional learning.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe group investigation ditinjau dari kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Bandarlampung tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 yang terdiri dari empat kelas dengan sampel siswa kelas VII A dan VII D yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Desain yang digunakan adalah posttest only control design. Data kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa diperoleh dari tes uraian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe group investigation efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dan lebih efektif dibandingkan pembelajaran konvensional.Kata kunci: efektivitas, group investigation, pemahaman konsep
