Abstract

In higher education need to apply the process of teaching, coaching, and training both to students. Implementation of teaching, coaching, and training should be conducted in a professional manner because students are required ready to plunge into human society as an adult, responsible and forward-minded. Three aspects should be offset by improved performance in designing devices lecturer and the learning process. One effective way to improve the quality of learning undertaken by lecturers is to implement Lesson Study is designed so well that it will make a professional and innovative faculty. Lesson study is a vehicle for the development of the faculty, where the target is learning to the learning process. The purpose of this research is to improve the quality of teaching faculty of mathematics education through lesson study that starts from perancanaan, implementation and evaluation of learning. As well as provide learning among fellow faculty of mathematics education, especially the development of new lecturer to senior lecturer to student learning. Subjects in this study 4 dilakanakan professor of mathematics education in four subjects. The conclusion from this study is the implementation of lesson study activities can increase the performance of the education faculty of mathematics at the lecture. This is shown by research that showed an increase from cycle I to cycle II. Although there are some indicators that are not increasing but still in good category

Abstract

Education has a very important role in improving the quality of human resources. Therefore, education is expected to be one of the ways to prepare generations of qualified human resources and has the ability to deal with the progress of time and technology development . In order to enhance the quality of student mastery of competencies in the development of prospective teachers in this study will be applied to the activities in the process of lesson study in lecture . Lesson study is a model of coaching to people who work as both teacher educators and lecturers through collaborative learning and assessment in building sustainable learning communities. The purpose of this research is to improve the competence of prospective mathematics teachers through lesson study . More specifically , this study aims to describe the efforts made to improve the pedagogical, professional competence , social competence and personal competence prospective mathematics teachers through lesson study . Subjects in this study were students who took the micro teaching courses totaling 15 students , divided into 3 group . This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study is to develop the competence of prospective mathematics teachers through lesson study . Lesson study conducted collaborated with Action Research activities ( Action Reseach). The results of this research activity is the implementation of lesson study to greater competence to prospective teachers teaching mathematics through the micro subjects namely: pedagogical competence categories were 80 % and 20 % lower, professional competence categories were 46.7 % and 53.3 % lower, personal competence 100 % category being and social competence categories were 86.7 % and 13.3 % lower .

Abstract

Pendidikan anak usia dini adalah suatu upaya pembinaan yang ditujukan kepada anak sejak lahir sampai dengan usia enam tahun yang dilakukan melalui pemberian rangsangan pendidikan untuk membantu pertumbuhan dan perkembangan jasmani dan rohani agar anak memiliki kesiapan dalam memasuki pendidikan lebih lanjut. Hasil penelitian yang dilaksanakan menunjukkan bahwa subyek tidak mengalami kesulitan untuk menyelesaikan operasi perhitungan penjumlahan dalam bentuk gambar dan angka, sedangkan untuk pengurangan mengalami kesalahan perhitungan. Tetapi untuk penyelesaian soal penjumlahan dan pengurangan dalam bentuk soal cerita, subyek belum mampu menyelesaikannya. Hal tersebut dikarenakan subyek belum mampu memaknai isi dari soal yang diberikan. Untuk mengatasipermasalahan tersebut, alternatif yang diberikan pada saat penelitian adalah memberikan bimbingan untuk memaknai isi dari soal yang diberikan, setelah subyek dapat memaknai isi dari soal kemudian subyek diminta untuk menyelesaikan soal tersebut.Kata Kunci: Kesulitan Belajar Matematika, Anak Usia Dini.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses terbentuknya representasi skematis murni dan representasi skematis campuran yang diciptakan oleh siswa selama menyelesaikan word problem. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif yang bersifat deskriprif. Dalam penelitian ini melibatkan 45 siswa kelas 8. Sedangkan untuk memilih subjek tidak dipilih secara acak, namun dipilih berdasarkan kemampuan siswa dalam menciptkan representasi skematik. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan meminta siswa untuk menyelesaikan Tugas Pemecahan Masalah secara think aload, yaitu siswa diminta untuk menyuarakan apa yang dipikirkannya. Selain itu siswa juga menuangkan pikirannya mengunakan kertas dan pensil. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa proses representasi skematis murni diciptakan siswa dengan membuat gambar skema berupa garis besar dari masalah dan dilengkapi dengan beberapa keterangan pokok yang ada dalam masalah. Sedangkan proses representasi skematis campuran diciptakan siswa dengan membuat gambar skema yang dilengkapi dengan keterangan-keterangan dan gambar nyata yang sesuai dengan situasi dalam masalah. Kedua jenis representasi skematis ini sangat efektif dalam membantu siswa dalam menyelesaikan word problem. Kata kunci: representasi skematis, representasi skematis murni, representasi skematis campuran. This study aims to describe the process of formation of pure schematic representation and mixed schematic representation created by students during solving word problem. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. In this study involving 45 students 8th grade. While to select the subject not selected at random, but selected based on the ability of students in creating schematic representation. The data collection is done by asking the students to solve the Problem-solving Tasks of think a load, ie the students are asked to voice what they think. In addition students also pour their minds using paper and pencil. The results of this study indicate that the process of pure schematic representation is created by creating schematic drawings in the form of an outline of the problem and supplemented with some basic information that exists in the problem. While the process of mixed schematic representation was created by the students by drawing schematic drawings with explanations and real images that fit the situation in the problem. Both types of schematic representation is very effective in assisting students in solving word problem. Keywords: representation, schematic representation, pure schematic, mixed schematic.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to describe students’ thinking process in creating schematic representation. A describtive qualitative research is used in this paper along with case study approach. The examined case is students’ thinking process in creating schematic representation in solving word problem. The subjects are Junior High School students at grade VIII. Data collection were done by think aloud technique and interview. The result show that students’ thinking process in creating schematic representation is retrieved from processing theory started by taking the problem into account. Students read the problem based on its intonation with stress in each sentence. Then, students create a scheme and link all information they understand about. This scheme later is drawn into triangle form. By creating the scheme, students are able to comprehend the questions and problems proper. Students connect problems faced by theirself with the concept of Phytagoras stored in long-term memory. The students' understanding of the Phytagoras Theorem concept is well preserved so that students can solve the problem appropriately.

Abstract

Schematic representation is very important for students to solve problems in solving word problems. There are two types of schematic representation namely pure schematic representation and mixed schematic representation. The process of forming a pure schematic representation tends to be more concise than the process of forming a mixed schematic representation. So it is necessary to investigate in more detail and in-depth which is more effective between pure schematic representation or mixed schematic representation in helping students to solve word problems. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of pure schematic representation and mixed schematic representation in solving word problems. The effectiveness mentioned in this study is the accuracy and precision of the schematic representation formed by the students when solving word problems. This study uses a qualitative approach involving students from grade IX in Metro City, Lampung, Inonesia as research subjects. The students involved in this study were 60 students. Of the 60 students, two were selected as research subjects representing pure schematic representation and mixed schematic representation. Both subjects were chosen considering the possibility of forming a schematic representation and having good communication skills. The results of this study indicate that students who form pure schematic representation present information and schematic drawings formed in a more concise, precise and accurate manner. While students who form a mixed schematic representation by presenting less structured information, the schematic drawings formed are longer. So it can be concluded that a pure schematic representation is more effective than a mixed schematic representation for solving word problems.Keywords: Representations; mixed schematic representations; pure schematic representations; word problem.  AbstrakRepresentasi skematis sangat penting bagi siswa untuk mengurai masalah dalam menyelesaikan word problem. Terdapat dua jenis representasi skematis yaitu representasi skematis murni dan representasi skematis campuran. Proses terbentuknya representasi skematis murni cenderung lebih ringkas (pendek) dibandingkan dengan proses terbentuknya representasi skematis campuran. Maka perlu diselidiki lebih detail dan mendalam manakah yang lebih efektif antara representasi skematis murni atau representasi skematis campuran dalam membantu siswa selama menyelesaikan word problem. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas antara representasi skematis murni dan representasi skematis campuran dalam pemecahan word problem. Efektivitas yang dimaksud dalam penelitian ini adalah ketepatan dan keakuratan representasi skematis yang dibentuk siswa selama menyelesaikan word problem. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitiatif yang melibatkan siswa kelas IX di Kota Metro, Lampung, Indonesia sebagai subjek penelitian. Siswa yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 60 siswa. Dari 60 siswa dipilih dua siswa sebagai subjek penelitian yang mewakili representasi skematis murni dan representasi skematis campuran. Dua subjek tersebut dipilih melalui pertimbangan mampu membentuk representasi skematis dengan baik, dan memiliki kemampuan komunikasi yang baik. Sebuah tes diberikan untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa dalam membentuk representasi skematis. Hasil pekerjaan siswa yang terkumpul dianalisis dan digunakan sebagai bahan dalam wawancara untuk menggali informasi bagaimana siswa membentuk representasi skematis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang membentuk representasi skematis murni menyajikan informasi-informasi dan gambar skema yang dibentuk lebih ringkas, tepat dan akurat. Sedangkan siswa yang membentuk reprsentasi skematis campuran dalam menyajikan informasi-informasi kurang terstruktur, dan gambar skema yang dibentuk lebih panjang. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa representasi skematis murni lebih efektif daripada representasi skematis campuran selama menyelesaikan word problem.Kata kunci: Representasi; representasi skematis campuran; representasi skematis murni; word problem.

Abstract

Pada sekolah SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Metro, terdapat beberapa hal yang ditemukan diantaranya adalah karena tidak terlalu berfungsinya bahan ajar yang digunakan disekolah yakni berupa buku cetak. Penggunaan buku cetak dalam pembelajaran cukup sulit untuk digunakan saat pembelajaran daring karena penggunaan bahasa dari buku tersebut sulit untuk dipahami peserta didik. Begitu pun contoh soal yang tersaji kurang banyak, sehingga peserta didik kurang memahami materi dan latihan soal yang ada. Penelitian dan pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan bahan ajar berupa modul matematika berbasis pendekatan kontekstual (Contextual Teaching And Lerning) disertai QR Code pada materi logaritma kelas X yang memenuhi kriteria valid dan praktis. Pengembangan ini menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE, yaitu: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation dan Evaluation. Subjek penelitian ini adalah kelas X IPA 1 SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Metro dengan jumlah peserta didik sebanyak 6 orang. Dalam penelitian dan pengembangan ini, produk yang dihasilkan harus divalidasi terlebih dahulu, kemudian dilakukan uji coba terbatas. Hasil rata-rata dari validasi ahli materi sebesar 86,43% termasuk dalam kategori sangat valid, selanjutnya untuk hasil rata-rata validasi ahli media sebesar 90% sehingga termasuk dalam kategori sangat valid. Adapun untuk uji coba kepraktisan modul memperoleh rata-rata 87,95% dengan kategori sangat praktis. Berdasarkan kriteria yang diterapkan maka modul matematika berbasis pendekatan kontekstual (Contextual Teaching And Lerning) disertai QR Code pada materi logaritma kelas X dinyatakan layak dan praktis untuk digunakan.At SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Metro, several things were found, including the lack of functioning of the teaching materials used in schools, namely in the form of printed books. The use of printed books in learning is quite difficult to use when learning online because the use of the language of the book is difficult for students to understand. Likewise, there are not many examples of questions presented, so that students do not understand the material and practice questions. This research and development aims to produce teaching materials in the form of mathematics modules based on a contextual approach (Contextual Teaching And Learning) accompanied by a QR Code on logarithmic material for class X that meets valid and practical criteria. This development uses the ADDIE development model, namely: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The subject of this research is class X IPA 1 SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Metro with a total of 6 students. In this research and development, the resulting product must be validated first, then a limited trial is carried out. The average results of material expert validation of 86.43% are included in the very valid category, then for the media expert validation average results of 90% so that they are included in the very valid category. As for the practicality of the module, it obtained an average of 87.95% in the very practical category. Based on the criteria applied, the mathematics module based on a contextual approach (Contextual Teaching and Learning) accompanied by a QR Code on logarithmic class X material is declared feasible and practical to use.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses translasi representasi siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika berorientasi pada high order thinking skills (HOTS). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 26 siswa kelas XI di Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 4 Metro. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes dan wawancara. Siswa menyelesaikan tes sambil mengungkapkan secara lisan apa yang mereka pikirkan (think aloud), kemudian dilakukan wawancara terkait dengan hasil pekerjaan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika berorientasi pada HOTS dilakukan melalui dua proses translasi yaitu translasi representasi verbal ke grafik (gambar) kemudian ke simbolik. Proses translasi representasi tersebut dilakukan melalui tahap unpacking the source, preliminary coordination, constructing the target, dan determining equivalence. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat digunakan guru sebagai bahan pertimbangan untuk menyusun desain pembelajaran yang tepat khususnya pada soal pembelajaran yang mendorong siswa melakukan HOTS. Sehingga guru dapat mengoptimalkan berpikir siswa dan meminimalkan kesulitan siswa dalam proses translasi representasi. Penelitian selanjutnya dapat memeriksa lebih mendalam karakteristik tiap tahapan translasi representasi. This study aims to describe the process of translating students' representations in solving mathematical problems oriented to HOTS. This research is a qualitative research. The subjects of this study were students of class XI at Metro 4 Public Middle School. Data collection techniques are done through tests and interviews. Students complete the test while verbally expressing what they think (think aloud). Then the researchers conducted interviews related to the results of student work. The results showed that students in solving mathematical problems oriented to HOTS were carried out through two translation processes, namely the translation of verbal representations into graphs (pictures) then to symbolic. The translation translation process is carried out through the stages of unpacking the source, preliminary coordination, constructing the target, and determining equivalence. The results of this study are expected to be used by teachers as consideration for developing appropriate learning designs, especially on learning problems that encourage students to do HOTS. So the teacher can optimize student thinking and minimize student difficulties in the process of translational representation. Future studies can examine in more depth the characteristics of each translation translation stage.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to develop a module of mathematics at the junior high school level class VIII. It is based on the observation of books or teaching materials used in schools is an informative and not involve students in the learning process. This study develops a mathematical module VIII Junior High School class-based constructivism. Constructivism approach chosen by reason will lead students in finding and independently formulate a mathematical concept. This type of research is the development of research (Research and Development), which is intended to develop modules Junior High School math class VIII-based constructivism. This research subject is class VIII student at Junior High School 2 Metro, Junior High School 4 Metro and Junior High School 6 Metro. When the study for two years in which the first year to implement the development of modules and the second year of implementing use of modules developed and seen the results of student learning.  Implementation of the research in the first year has been implemented which reached the stage of expert validation and testing of the small scale of the development of junior high school math module VIII class-based constructivism
