Abstract

The purpose of this research is In 21st century learning students are required to be more active in learning than teachers, therefore this study aims to determine whether there is an influence between the LAPS-Heuristic learning model and the ability to solve problems. Methodology: Using quantitative descriptive. Where, the number of samples in this study were 436 students from SMP 11 Jambi City who used purposive sampling technique. Data were then analyzed with the help of SPSS 21 application to find descriptive statistics in the form of mean, min, max, and category as well as inferential statistics using simple regression. Finding: The results obtained in this study are dominant both in the ability of student problem solving and the effectiveness of the LAPS-Heuristic learning model in mathematics lessons. With this, it is strengthened by the existence of a relationship and influence between the LAPS-Heuristic learning model and the students' problem solving abilities seen from the sig value below 0.025, which is 0.019 and has a contribution of 70.3%.

Abstract

This article reports on the ability of feeble-minded or mentally retarded students in mathematical recall and problem-solving processes. In particular, this study investigated whether recall ability can affect feeble-minded students' ability to work on mathematical problems. This research was conducted using a mixed-method approach with a sequential explanatory research design. The sample of this study consisted of 34 feeble-minded students. The findings show that the ability of feeble-minded students to solve mathematical problems and their recall abilities were categorized as fair Another finding is that the ability to recall had a 62.1% effect on the ability to work on mathematical problems. The contribution of this study is that feeble-minded students' ability to work on mathematical problems is greatly influenced by their ability in the mathematical recall process.

Abstract

Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) Untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengetahuan Matematika yang muncul pada anak usia 3-4 tahun (2) Untuk mengetahui bagaimana anak usia dini memperoleh pengetahuan Matematika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan naratif. Tekhnik pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi, wawancara serta dokumentasi kegiatan permainan anak dengan menggunakan media puzzle angka, telur warna, balok susun, dan puzzle bergambar. Hasil penelitian menunjukan media bermain yang edukatif untuk anak bisa memunculkan pengetahuan matematika yang sesuai dengan perkembangan usianya. Hal ini dilihat dari kemampuan anak yang telah mampu: (1) memasangkan benda-benda yang berkaitan (pairing) melalui media puzzle angka, pemerolehan pengetahuan matematikanya dengan cara mencocokkan ukuran bentuk kepingan puzzle (trial and error) dan secara berulang-ulang, mengenali bentuk yang sesuai pada kepingan puzzle dan selanjutnya anak paham akan bentuk ukuran dan menyebutkan lambang bilangan pada puzzle angka (2) mengelompokkan berdasarkan warna (matching). Melalui media telur warna pemerolehan pengetahuan matematika ditunjukkan dengan kemampuan anak mengindentifikasi warna (3) mengurutkan benda berdasarkan ukuran dari yang kecil ke besar atau sebaliknya (seriation). Kata kunci : pengetahuan matematika, anak usia dini Abstrack The purpose of this study are (1) to find out whether there is mathematical knowledge that arises in children aged 3-4 years (2) to find out how early childhood children acquire mathematical knowledge. The method used in this research is qualitative with a narrative approach. Data collection techniques using observation sheets, interviews and documentation based on children's play activities using media Puzzle Figures, Color Eggs, Stacking Beams, and Picture Puzzles.Results of the research showed that the tools of early childhood education have succeeded to encourage math sciences for early childhood aged 3-4 years old. This can be seen from the ability of early childhood who have been able to: (1) pair objects that are paired through Number Puzzle media, gain mathematical knowledge by matching the size of the puzzle pieces (trial and error) and repeatedly, recognizing shapes which is appropriate in the puzzle piece and then the child understands the shape of the size and mentions the number symbol on the number puzzle (2) grouping according to matching. Through Egg media Color acquisition of mathematical knowledge is indicated by the ability of children to identify colours (3) sort objects based on size from small to large or vice versa (seriation).
