Abstract

Fraction is one of the difficult topics for students with visual impairments. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a learning trajectory that can help the students understand fractions. This design research aims to describe the design process of hypothetical learning trajectory for the addition of fractions using braille fraction blocks. This research is divided into three stages: the preparation for the experiment (design), the implementation of the teaching experiment, and the retrospective analysis. Data collection techniques employed in this research were walkthrough, observation, interview, and test. The product of this research is hypothetical learning trajectory (HLT) for the addition of fractions that contains the following activities: comparing unit block and fraction blocks, comparing the size of different fraction blocks to get the same size fraction blocks (equal fraction), comparing the sizes of two fraction blocks, adding fraction blocks, and determining the fraction block with the same size as the added fraction block. Those five activities were carried out in the two-cycle experimental activities. After the implementation of the activities, the students' answers to exercises showed that the research subjects could add fractions, either with the same denominators or different denominators.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Pendekatan Pendidikan Matematika Realistik Indonesia (PMRI) terhdapa kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah true experimental design dengan desain post-test only contol design. Penelitian dilakukan di SMP Negeri 9 Palembang dengan populasi seluruh siswa kelas VII yang terdiri dari 11 kelas dan sampelnya adalah VII.9 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII.5 sebagai kelas pembanding. Berdasarkan analisis hasil tes, menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa di kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol. Perhitungan statistik yang didapat dari hasil tes menghasilkan thitung = 3,248 dan ttabel = 2,001, sehingga thitung > ttabel yang menyebabkan Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh pendekatan Pendidikan Matematika Realistik Indonesia (PMRI) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa khususnya pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 9 Palembang.

Abstract

Proof has a role in the formation and development of mathematics in the history of mathematics. The ability to construct proof is one indicator of mathematical reasoning which is an important component of mathematics learning outcomes, especially in Algebra. This qualitative research aims to describe the design process of the Hypothetical Learning Trajectory for Proof Logic Topics. This research is based on design research. This research consists of three stages: preparing for the experiment, the design experiment, and the retrospective analysis. Data collection techniques in this research are walkthrough and interview. The walkthrough and interview were conducted in the first stage of design research (preparing the experiment) with two activities: expert review and reader proof to collect materials to revise the HLT. Four experts participated in the expert review. The experts are chosen based on the experience, both research experience, and teaching experience. The result of this research is the design of HLT for proof logic topics consist of four activities: reading proof, completing proof, examining proof, and Constructing proof. The four activities were well-done on the design experiment stage.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal TIMSS konten Geometri dilihat dari kepribadian extrovert di Kelas VIII SMP. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan melibatkan enam orang siswa yang masing-masing tiga siswa berkeperibadian extrovert yang tergolong siswa berkemampuan rendah, sedang dan tinggi sebagai subjek penelitian. Pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah angket, tes, dan wawancara. Hasil analisis data menunjukan bahwa kemampuan berfikir kritis siswa berkeperibadian extrovert terbagi menjadi tiga kelompok, yaitu kelompok tinggi yang mampu melewati tahap interpretasi, analisis dan evaluasi, kelompok sedang mampu melewati tahap interpretasi dan analisis, dan kelompok rendah mampu melewati tahap interpretasi.

Abstract

AbstrakAktivitas belajar diartikan sebagai suatu kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh siswa dalam pelaksanaan proses pembelajaran. Aktivitas siswa sangatlah diperlukan dalam proses pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat melihat aktivitas belajar siswa pada pembelajaran matematika setelah diterapkan metode Two Stay Two Stray (TS-TS) di SMP Negeri 19 Palembang. Untuk mengetahui tujuan penelitian, maka yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Mixed Methods Research. Hasil penelitian ini diambil dari data observasi aktivitas siswa pada setiap pertemuan, wawancara kepada sampel terpilih, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dapat disimpulkan bahwa: setelah diterapkan metode Two Stay Two Stray (TS-TS) dalam pembelajaran matematika di SMP Negeri 19 Palembang, aktivitas belajar siswa termasuk dalam kategori aktif dengan rata-rata 75, dimana 12 orang siswa berada pada kategori sangat aktif, 7 orang siswa berada pada kategori aktif, 8 orang siswa berada pada kategori cukup aktif, 3 orang siswa berada ada kategori kurang aktif, dan 1 orang siswa berada pada kategori sangat kurang aktif.Kata Kunci: aktivitas belajar, metode Two Stay Two Stray (TS-TS).AbstractLearning activity is defined as an activity undertaken by students in the implementation of the learning process. Student activity is very necessary in the learning process. The purpose of this study is to observe the student learning activities in the study of mathematics after applied Two Stay Two Stray (TS-TS) method in SMP Negeri 19 Palembang. This research is a Mixed Methods Research. The data of this study is observational data of student activity at each meeting, interview data of the selected sample, and documentation. From the data analysis, it can be concluded that after applied the Two Stay Two Stray (TS-TS) method in mathematics instructions at SMP Negeri 19 Palembang, student learning activities included in the category of active with an average of 75: 12 very active students, 7 active students, 8 sufficient students, 3 less active students, and 1 very less active student.Keyword: learning activities, methods Two Stay Two Stray (TS-TS).

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the students’ scientific writing skills of mathematics education. This research is descriptive qualitative research. Research subject is choosen by using purposive sampling technique. Research subject is choosen based on variety of batch, grade point average (GPA) dan Thesis Processing Duration (TPD). Data collection techniques in this research are document studies (documentation methods) and interviews. The document study was carried out by 2 researchers (chairman and researcher members) and 2 other lecturers of Mathematics Education Study Program to obtain data about writing scientific work for research subjects. The interview was conducted after the results of the first data analysis were obtained as confirmation media and deeper exploration of the profile of the research subjects. This study provides an overview of the carrying capacity of the GPA characteristics, the value of Indonesian Language, the value of Research Methods, and TPD. The four characteristics do not significantly support the students’ cientific writing skills of the mathematics education study program.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the level of students' critical thinking skills after the guided discovery model was applied. The type of research in this study is a qualitative development research using stages: preparation, implementation and completion. Data collection techniques in this study were observation, tests, and interviews. Observation was used to observe students during the learning process using the guided discovery model, the test was used to determine the level of students' critical thinking skills after the guided discovery learning model was applied, and interviews were used to confirm the test results obtained by the students. The subjects in this study were class VIII SMP Negeri 40 Palembang with a total of 6 students. Through the guided discovery learning model, the results of this study were that the students' critical thinking skills were (1) Subject S1 had high ability with the results of tests and interviews that met the five indicators of critical thinking ability and on the subject of master's degree based on the results of tests and interviews that met four indicators of ability critical thinking except for reason indicators, (2) Subject S3 had moderate ability with test and interview results that have met four indicators of critical thinking skills except reason indicators and S4 subjects based on test and interview results have met three indicators of critical thinking skills except reasons and concluded, and (3) Subject S5 and S6 had low ability in based on test results and interviews only fulfills one indicator of critical thinking ability, namely situation indicators. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk dapat mengkaji tingkat kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa setelah diterapkan model guided discovery. Jenis penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif pengembangan dengan menggunakan tahapan yaitu ada tahapan persiapan, pelaksanaan dan penyelesaian. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, tes, dan wawancara. Observasi digunakan untuk mengamati siswa ketika berlangsungnya proses pembelajaran menggunakan model guided discovery, tes digunakan untuk mengetahui tingkat kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran guided discovery, dan wawancara digunakan untuk mengkonfirmasi hasil tes yang telah diperoleh siswa. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII SMP Negeri 40 Palembang dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 6 siswa. Melalui model pembelajaran guided discovery maka hasil penelitian ini adalah diperoleh kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang (1) berkemampuan tinggi pada subjek S1 dengan hasil tes dan wawancara telah memenuhi kelima indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis dan pada subjek S2 berdasarkan hasil tes dan wawancara telah memenuhi empat indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis kecuali indikator alasan, (2) berkemampuan sedang pada subjek S3 dengan hasil tes dan wawancara telah memenuhi empat indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis kecuali indikator alasan dan pada subjek S4 berdasarkan hasil tes dan wawancara telah memenuhi tiga indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis kecuali alasan dan menyimpulkan, dan (3) berkemampuan rendah pada subjek S5 dan subjek S6 berdasarkan hasil tes dan wawancara hanya memenuhi satu indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis yaitu indikator situasi.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a vlog of learning mathematics in the context of nisab zakat fitrah with a valid category and has a potential effect on students' interest in learning. This research is a design research type of development study with development procedures consisting of a preliminary stage and a prototyping stage with the Tessmer flow, namely formative evaluation (self evaluation, expert review, one-to-one, small group, and field test). The design of the learning vlog uses the context of nisab zakat fitrah. Data collection techniques used are questionnaires and interviews. The research subjects were students of class VIIA of SMP Negeri 2 Plakat Tinggi. The results showed that the learning vlog developed in the valid category and the learning vlog had a potential effect on students' interest in learning based on the results of the N-Gain test of the pretest-posttest questionnaire which got a score of 0.41 and was included in the medium category.

Abstract

The weak ability of students in developing their reasoning power in solving mathematical problems, especially on HOTS questions causes students to have difficulty and experience many errors when solving them. The purpose of this study is to describe the errors made by students in solving HOTS-type math problems based on the Newman procedure. Subject taken from class IIB KMI and II C KMI Pondok Modern Daarul Abroor Banyuasin a total of 6 peopels who were selected besed on the results of the analysis of the previous semester to determine the initial abilitylevel using purposive Sampling Metod. Data collection techniques in the from of test question, interviews and documentation. Test the validity of the data using triangulation techniques. The data analysis technique used the Miles and Hubermen model in the from of (1) Analysis of students” previous semester scres, (2) Anaysis of stdent error in soving HOTS questions besed on the Newman procedur. The results of data analysis besed on the Newman procedure obtained were 0% reading errors, 29.2% problem understanding errors, 37.5% trnsformation errors, 74.2% process skills errors, 61% conclusion errors. The results of the intervew analysis showed that the factors causing studen errors were lack of interest in learning, students’ inaccurcy, lack of skills in solving HOTS questions, not nderstanding in operating calculations and not understanding concepts.
