Abstract

The aim of study is to determine the effect of emotional intelligence on social adjustment in adolescents at boarding school. This study uses a quantitative approach with data collection techniques using questionnaires. Respondents in this study are junior high school adolescent in boarding school, amounting to 155 people with age range 11-14 year. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. This study uses two instruments namely, the scale of social adjustment and the scale of emotional intelligence. Based on calculation result with simple linear regression using SPSS version 20.0 for windows obtained R2 equal to 0,079 with significance 0,000 (p <0,05), proven there is influence between emotional intelligence to social adjustment in adolescence equal to 7,9% and the rest influenced by other factor . The results of this study showed that emotional intelligence significantly give effect to adolescent social adjustment in boarding school. In this study also known the value of social adjustment and adolescent emotional intelligence in boarding schools are at a moderate level. Keywords: social adjustment, emotional intelligence, adolescence

Abstract

One reason of the high unemployment is the lack of career planning. The individu needs career maturity and views about the future (future time perspective) so that she/he can choose the right job. This research aimed to determine the influence of future time perspective toward career maturity in college student. This study used a quantitative approach. Sample in this study are 156 of college students in Jabodetabek.The measurement tools is Carstensen and Lang Future Time Perspective scale (CL-FTP) and Career Maturity Inventory form C (IMC form C). The result shos that future time perspective affecting positively to career maturity in college student significantly (R2= 0.139; p = 0.000). Simple linear regression analysis stated that future time perspective contributed 13,9% to the career maturity and 86,1% influenced by other factors.

Abstract

This study aims to see the current picture of recruitment in Indonesia. The research used survey method which was then analyzed thematically. Research subjects were 46 participants who worked in the field of recruitment with varied rank and seniority. The main findings related to the recruitment process are summarized based on participant responses. First, the majority of respondents argued that recruitment is currently very challenging considering on one hand the presence of less qualified candidates or even on the other hand the company does have a high enough demands. Second, given the budgetary problems, companies must adjust their recruitment strategies to their internal conditions. Finally, a recruit must have certain abilities such as target orientation, networking, negotiation, and analytic thinking. The results of this descriptive study can be used as a basis for further research and for recommendations on recruitment discussion forums. This study is limited to respondents from private companies, further research is suggested to increase the number of representative samples and develop more specific instruments.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of psychological capital and perception of organizational support for individual readiness to change among employees. This study used correlational (non-experimental) method. By using disproportionate stratified random sampling, there were 62 participants in Center of Marine and Fisheries at the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries. The measuring tools used in this study were Readiness for Change Scale (RFC), Psychological Capital Questionaire (PCQ), and Survey of Perceived Organizational Support (SPOS) which all of them have been adapted into Bahasa Indonesia. Data analysis technique used in this research was multiple linear regression. Result of this study indicated that psychological capital and perception of organizational support simultaneously can give significant effect to individual readiness to change.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. The present study investigated the role of psychological capital to affective commitment. Affective commitment is employee’s emotional attachment to, identification with, and involvement in the organization. Psychological capital is positive psychological state of development and is characterized by self efficacy, optimism, hope, and resiliency. This is the first study to examine the role of psychological capital on affective commitment by using generation Y in Jakarta as participants. They were 176 male and female employees who were varied in age, job level, employment status, tenure, educational background,  and work location. Data was gathered by using two measures: psychological capital and affective commitment scale. Interestingly, this study revealed that psychological capital significantly predict affective commitment in statistical point of view but not in practical implication. Regression analysis reported that psychological capital contribute only 2% to affective commitment among Indonesian generation Y.Keywords:  affective commitment, psychological capital, generation Y ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran modal psikologis terhadap komitmen afektif. Komitmen afektif adalah kelekatan emosional, identifikasi, dan keterlibatan karyawan dalam organisasi. Modal psikologis adalah kondisi positif perkembangan psikologis yang ditandai dengan efikasi diri, optimisme, harapan, dan resiliensi. Penelitian ini menjadi studi pertama yang menguji modal psikologis sebagai prediktor dari komitmen afektif dengan menggunakan generasi Y di Jakarta sebagai partisipan. Mereka adalah 183 karyawan pria dan wanita yang bervariasi dalam hal usia, tingkat jabatan, status karyawan, masa kerja, latar belakang pendidikan, dan lokasi kerja. Data diambil dengan menggunakan dua alat ukur: skala modal psikologis dan skala komitmen afektif. Menariknya, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa modal psikologis dapat memprediksi komitmen afektif dalam sudut pandang statistik tetapi tidak dalam implikasi praktis. Analisis regresi menunjukkan bahwa modal psikologis hanya memberikan kontribusi sebesar 2% terhadap komitmen afektif pada generasi Y di Indonesia. Abstract

This research investigates Islamic bank employees’ work engagement and its correlation to patience. Work engagement is fulfilling and positive state of mind that is characterized by vigor, dedication, and absorption. Patience is a coping strategy which involves rational thinking, self-acceptance, self-control, and effort. By using accidental sampling, final participants were 169 employees working in Islamic bank who were varied in age, job position, employment status, tenure, educational background, and work location. Data was gathered by using two measures: The Utrecht Work Engagement Scale and Patience scale and it were analyzed using Pearson correlation. Patience is found to relate positively with work engagement (r = .603). Islamic bank management may conduct training about patience to enhance their employees’ engagement.

Abstract

One of the emerging concepts in occupational health psychology today is work engagement. The present study investigates work engagement among generation Y and its correlation to mindfulness. Work engagement is positive, fulfilling, work-related state of mind that is characterized by vigor, dedication, and absorption. Mindfulness is present moment awareness with an observing and non-judging stance. This is the first study to examine the correlation between mindfulness and work engagement among generation Y, specifically in Indonesia. Participants of this study are 251 male and female generation Y working in some cities across Indonesia. They are 18 to 36 years old and they are varied in educational background as well as in job tenures. Data is gathered using two scales, namely Utrecht Work Engagement Scale and Mindful Attention Awareness Scale. Regression analysis reported that mindfulness contributes 2 percent to work engagement. Mindfulness is found to relate positively with work engagement (r= .142). Theoretical and practical implications are discussed.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to find effect from organizational climate to burnout in hospital nurses in Lebak during the COVID-19. Nurses who worked during the COVID-19 were at the forefront of cutting infected tissues and this resulted in quite high suffering. The main fatigue is emotional or better known as burnout. One of the causes of burnout is organizational climate. A high organizational climate can produce a positive work environment so that nurses don’t feel a threat at work. Respondents in this study were nurses who worked at the hospital in Lebak as many as 177 respondents who were selected through purposive sampling technique. The measuring instruments used in this research were CLIOR Scale Short Version and Maslach Burnout Inventory. The results of the calculation of the regression analysis technique show that the significance value is 0.283 (p> 0.05). This means that there is no effect from organizational climate to burnout in hospital nurses in Lebak during the COVID-19.Keywords : Organizational Climate, Burnout, Nurse, COVID-19 ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh iklim organisasi terhadap burnout pada perawat rumah sakit di Lebak dalam masa COVID-19. Perawat yang bekerja dalam masa COVID-19 ini menjadi salah satu garda terdepan bagi pemutusan jaringan tertular dan hal tersebut mengakibatkan kelelahan yang cukup tinggi. Kelelahan yang paling utama adalah secara emosional atau lebih dikenal dengan istilah burnout. Salah satu penyebab terjadinya burnout adalah iklim organisasi. Iklim organisasi yang tinggi dapat menghasilkan lingkungan kerja yang positif sehingga perawat tidak merasa adanya ancaman dalam bekerja. Responden dalam penelitian ini merupakan perawat yang bekerja di rumah sakit di Lebak sebanyak 177 responden yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah CLIOR Scale Short Version dan Maslach Burnout Inventory. Hasil perhitungan teknik analisis regresi menunjukkan bahwa nilai signifikansi sebesar 0.283 (p > 0.05). Hal tersebut berarti tidak terdapat pengaruh iklim organisasi terhadap burnout pada perawat rumah sakit di Lebak dalam masa COVID-19.Kata kunci : Iklim Organisasi, Burnout, Perawat, COVID-19

Abstract

The indigenous of Javanese is very complex, there are a lot of things to pay attention to, including how to be healthy. In the context of this study, it aims to describe the process of Javanese indigenous healing for physical and mental health. To achieve this goal, this study uses a literature study by collecting data and information about indigenous healing and health of the Javanese. The results of research explain that the concept of Javanese indigenous healing is able to maintain physical and mental health. This research shows that Javanese indigenous healing system for physical health written in the manuscripts of Javanese such as Serat Primbon Jampi Jawi, Serat Primbon Racikan Jampi Jawi, Serat Centhini, Serat Munasiyat Jati and other Javanese manuscripts. In addition, the philosophy of the Javanese community such as nrimo ing pandum is very relevant to the concept of mental health. Maintaining mental health is very important so that the soul is calm and peaceful, so that it can enjoy everyday life and respect others. The people of Javanese who are healthy and feel happiness in their life have the characteristics of being sepuh, wutuh and tangguh. Achieving a healthy personal status and finding happiness is done by holding on to a balanced mind, feeling, word and deed.
