Abstract

ne of subject material which is learned by students in Mathematics Education Program is 3D-Shapes Geometry. The average of 3D-Shapes Geomery students’s mark in IKIP Veteran Jawa Tengah is still under 70. The average of 3D-Shapes Geometry student’s mark is low because their critical thinking ability is low too. It is caused by learning material which is used. This teaching aid just consists of material and exercise. Students also too depend on confirmation from their lecturer to give decision of the truth answer when they were doing the exercise inthe learning material. The solution of this problem is they can use 3D-Shapes Geometry Learning using Geogebra because they can check the truth answer by Geogebra. There are steps that students do when they were using Geogebra. This research is quantitative research. Instrument of this research is critical thinking ability test. This research use One Sample T-Test and gain. The conclusion of this research are the average of 3D-Shapes geometry’s mark is more than 70 and the increase of average 3D-Shapes Geometry’s mark is in the middle category. Abstract

Optimists are people who expect the good thing in the future. This paper focusing in particular on how optimism may lead a person, especially a student to cope and solve a  problem. The primary pupose of this paper is to review the beneficial effect of optimism, on students problem solving abilities. This study was conducted on 164 high school students using an optimism questionnaire instrument and a test of mathematical problem solving abilities. The result show that optimism and students' mathematical problem solving abilities have a positive and significant relationship, its indicated by the r product moment score of 0.79. In addition correlation were obtained optimism influences students' mathematical problem solving abilities by 63%. Further research is needed to improve students' ability to solve mathematical problems through optimism. Keywords: optimism, problem solving ability, mathematics, education

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the STEM approach to mathematics learning achievement in class XI Machining Engineering Expertise Competency at SMK NU Maarif Kudus. The research objects are class XI TP 4 (control class) and class XI TP 5 (experimental class) in the 2019/2020 school year. This type of research is quantitative research with posttest only control design. The sample selection was based on observations and recommendations from the mathematics teacher and obtained class XI TP 5 as an experimental class was treated with the learning process with the STEM approach and class XI TP 4 as a control class. The t test results (independent sample t-test) showed that the Sig. (2-tailed) 0.036 0.05. This means that from the hypothesis that was built, Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. From the results of tests conducted it can be said that there are significant mean differences between classes with the STEM approach compared with the scientific approach. Besides the STEM approach is more effective in giving an impact on student achievement.

Abstract

Pelatihan dilaksanakan selama satu hari.

Abstract

Curriculum transformation is essential to the education because it aims to improve learning quality and make it more relevant to the needs of students and society. The curriculum can be adapted to align the course content with current issues and the society's demands. Modifying or updating materials enables the curriculum to address current issues better and provide knowledge that aligns with the needs of the students. The purpose of this study is to analyze the differences in mathematics teaching materials for junior high school students based on the transformation of the 2013 curriculum to the ‘Merdeka’ curriculum. The research methodology employed in this study is a literature review, with the primary sources that are the government regulations outlining the fundamental competencies of the 2013 curriculum and the learning outcomes of the Merdeka curriculum, as well as other supporting relevant references. According to the findings, the Merdeka curriculum has less material than the 2013 curriculum. This aligns with Merdeka curriculum's characteristics, which prioritize essential material to provide ample time for students to develop their creativity and innovation skills.
