Abstract

Creative thinking skills are considered to have a positive correlation with students’ academic achievement. Thus, they need to be developed through the learning process. To successfully develop these skills, an appropriate learning model is needed. This research aims to determine the improvement of the creative thinking skills of prospective teachers who learned using structured, guided, and open inquiries. This quasi-experimental research used an untreated control group design with pretest and posttest. A total sample of 118 students was selected and distributed into structured, guided, and open inquiry classes. The research instrument consisted of 18 creative thinking skill items applied to the pretest and posttest. The data analysis was performed using ANCOVA and LSD tests. The results show that the mean score of the open inquiry class was higher and significantly different compared to those of the other two classes. However, the mean scores of the two classes were not significantly different. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of the open inquiry model led to a higher increase in creative thinking skills compared to those of the structured and guided inquiry models.

Abstract

Literasi sains menjadi aspek penting dalam setiap pembelajaran sains di sekolah menengah pertama. Keterampilan ini harus dimiliki peserta didik agar dapat mengaplikasikan sains dengan tepat dan benar. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan perangkat pembelajaran yang mendukung peningkatan literasi sains dalam pembelajarannya. Salah satu bentuk perangkat yang menjadi inti dari pembelajaran sains adalah lembar kerja peserta didik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan LKPD berbasis pada blended learning untuk meningkatkan literasi sains peserta didik SMP. Pembelajaran berbasis campuran (blended learning) dipilih dengan tujuan agar dapat memenuhi kebutuhan peserta didik untuk belajar di rumah dan di sekolah. Pembelajaran ini berfokus pada pemanfaatan teknologi untuk belajar sains dengan menarik. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian pengembangan dengan sampel 66 peserta didik SMP di kota mataram. Hasil pengembangan LKPD berbasis blended learning yang telah diaplikasikan pada pembelajaran IPA memberikan pengaruh berupa peningkatan literasi sains peserta didik pada materi kemagnetan. Lembar kerja ini sangat efektif dalam pembelajaran saat ini dan dapat digunakan untuk pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran abad 21.

Abstract

Physics is contain a lot of abstract concept.this thing arise student’s difficulty in learning physics individually. This difficulty can be solved by educators  with using the method of cooperative learning on teaching their pupil. Beside of that, on teaching abstract concept can be helped by using virtual media. Because of that, this research is aim to test the effect of cooperative learning with virtual media toward the student’s conceptual understanding in physics on static fluid matter. Pre-test and post-test was gived to experiment and control class. The instrument of the test is conceptual test which consist of six cognitive aspect. The result show that the cooperative learning with virtual media increased student’s conceptual understanding in static fluid and significantly increased at sub-matter Archimedes law and fluid pressure. This result also showed the increase of student’s cognitive abilty on experiment class, but one of cognitive aspect C6 (create), control class more better than experiment class.

Abstract

One of the ways to use technology in education is in the assessment process, namely e-assessment. E-assessment is a system designed to make the process more effective and efficient in terms of time, funds and assessment achievements. In this study, an e-assessment has been developed which is oriented towards students understanding. The purpose of this research is to determine the effectiveness of using e-assessment on students understanding. The research method used was a quasi-experimental in the pretest posttest group design. Students understanding data were obtained from a multiple-choice test with 25 questions related to the concept of mechanics. The data obtained were analyzed for the increase with the gain normalization equation. The results obtained indicate that the developed e-assessment model can improve students understanding with the medium improvement category. The increase in students' understanding of concept in the cognitive aspects of C1, C2 and C3 was in the high category of increase and aspects of C4, C5, and C6 increased with the category of moderate improvement.

Abstract

Problem-solving is a high-level ability to find solution to a problem. In the problem-solving process, students have to identify and understand the problems, plan the solutions, execute the plans and review the resolution process. This ability is needed by students to produce meaningful knowledge. This article discusses the effect of virtual labs in physics learning toward student’s problem-solving abilities. The improvement of problem-solving skills was analyzed in each step of the solution process. This quasi-experimental study was conducted at three different senior high schools. There were 165 students participating in this study, all of whom were divided into three experimental groups and three control groups. The research instrument used was five to eight questions of essay test. The results showed that the problem-solving ability of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group at each school. The analysis of each problem-solving step showed that, in each school, the students' ability to identify and define the problem and also to establish goals and objectives show a similar result. Students have an excellent ability in identifying problem up to plan for problem-solving, whereas for the step of analyzing the choice of ideas and step to follow up of problem-solving overall still need to be improved. Students who are unable to complete a particular problem-solving step will not be able to complete the next step well.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the use of English in the Biology handbook through a learning approach based on Content Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) to increase the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) for prospective teacher students in the Biology Education Study Program at the University of Mataram. This research was conducted using a quasi-experimental approach with multiple group pre-test and post-test patterns. The test subjects and units of analysis were all second-semester students taking English for Biology courses at the FKIP Biology Education Study Program in the 2021/2022 academic year consisting of 6 classes, namely A, B, C, D, E, and F. TPACK data were analyzed using the N-gain. The N-gain test is used to measure the difference between the post-test and the pre-test. Based on the results of data analysis, it is known that there is an increase in students' TPACK ability to get N-gain values of 91%, 56%, 67%, 64%, 66%, and 61% for classes A, B, C, D, E, and F. The average value of N-gain for TPACK of biology education students is 68, which is quite effective. Therefore, it can be concluded that the English handbook through a CLIL-based learning approach contributes quite effectively to increasing the TPACK of prospective Biology teacher students.

Abstract

Publikasi karya ilmiah merupakan salah satu tuntutan dalam pengembangan profesi tenaga pendidik.  Keterbatasan kemampuan maupun kendala teknis lainnya bagi guru dalam menulis artikel ilmiah berimplikasi pada pengembangan karier dan jenjang kepangkatannya. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru IPA dalam menulis hingga mengirim naskah ke jurnal tujuan. Peserta diberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan secara intensif mulai dari pelatihan kemampuan dasar menulis artikel ilmiah hingga bimbingan teknis untuk submit ke jurnal tujuan dan revisi naskah hingga terpublikasi. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini akan dilaksanakan dalam beberapa tahapan, yaitu 1) Koordinasi dengan semua pihak terkait; 2) Pelatihan tentang penulisan pada jurnal; 3) Pendampingan dalam penulisan dan pengiriman artikel secara online; 4) Focus group discussion pada beberapa masalah yang terjadi, solusi dan rencana tindak lanjutnya. Pada tahap ini juga dilakukan evaluasi kegiatan secara menyeluruh. Setelah mengikuti kegiatan ini, peserta memiliki pengetahuan tentang pembuatan karya, membuat pertimbangan dalam memilih jurnal tujuan, membuat draft artikel sesuai panduan jurnal yang dituju, memanfaatkan tools dan program untuk mendukung dan memudahkan penulisan, serta mengirimkan artikel secara online.
