Abstract

This study aims to evaluate (1) the implementation and (2) the result of the implementation of civil servant teacher’s restructuring and equalizing policy at vocational high schools in Yogyakarta City. This research was a policy evaluation using the discrepancy evaluation model by identifying the gap between performance and standard. The data was collected through interviews and documentation from several informants, including the Office of Secondary Education staff, vice principals of curriculum, and some civil servant teachers. The instrument validity was tested validated by expert's judgment while the data validity was measured by triangulation. The data were analyzed using the descriptive statistical analysis for analyzing the quantitative data and continuous interactive analysis for analyzing the qualitative data. The research results are as follows. (1) The implementation of civil servant teacher’s restructuring and equalizing policy at vocational high schools in Yogyakarta City had been implemented properly in accordance with the implementation standards. (2) The implementation of civil servant teachers' restructuring and equalizing policy successfully rearranged 15 civil servant teachers and reduced teacher shortages by 4%. Nonetheless, the number of teacher shortages in certain subjects was still quite large, especially in productive subjects. This policy implementation's positive impacts are (a) teachers are motivated to increase their career paths; (b) teachers get new teaching experience and relationships. Meanwhile, the negative impact is that the teachers are having difficulty in managing teaching time, which causes them to not focus on teaching.

Abstract

The crawl style is a freestyle which is frequently used in national and international competitions. However, this swimming style requires much attention because of its complexity. On the other hand, it is very beneficial despite the facts that athletes do not like it. The objectives of this research were to examine the significant difference between two teaching methods: the pure and the progressive teaching methods. The sample of this study were 32 male students from a junior high school in Yogyakarta. The sample were divided into two groups with 16 students in the control group and 16 students in the experimental group. The data in this study were collected through a measurement on the students crawl style basic movements and the body fat level. The data were subsequently analyzed with independent sample t-test and correlation by the means of SPSS version 23. The result showed that there was a significant difference of basic movement score between the pure method and progressive method learning with p value of 0.03 0.05. The level of fat was not a constraint on both methods of teaching. High and low fat were positively correlated on both methods with the strength of the correlation was very high. In conclusion progressive method was better method to teach crawl style compared to the pure method of teaching because it gave many benefits for learners compared to the pure method teaching, regardless the level of the body fat.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop an effective training model for practising basic tennis groundstrokes for children aged 8-12 years old based on the action method coaching framework. Adopting the research and development stages as suggested by Borg and Gall (2003), this study included such stages as conducting preliminary research, identifying the theoretical bases for the model, designing the model, developing the components of exercises, and validating the finished model. The present study employed several methods including in-depth interviews, literature studies, as well as Delphi method to seek experts’ judgement. The data were analyzed by considerations of data reduction and thematic coding before the results were presented and conclusions were drawn. Additionally, this study also incorporated some close-ended questionnaire items and analyzed them by means of descriptive statistics to further confirm the findings. The findings suggest that the groundstroke training model based on the action method developed is declared feasible and approved for future small-scale field testing.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out other benefits of scuba diving for persons with physical disabilities through a systematic literature review. The technique used in this research is a literature study. The literature analysis used the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) method. A total of seven articles were selected for review. A review of articles shows that diving can be treated as a multidimensional therapy in water, allowing people with and without disabilities to share activities together. Such rehabilitation involves comprehensive stimulation of the human body through social interaction through participation in class, influencing the mental and physical environment to regain awareness of one's own body and the movements one can perform, to feel one's own body position and the possibility of providing direction of motion and the benefits of increasing self-reliance in water. Utilization the aquatic environment allows muscle relaxation, which, as a result, can have a positive effect on spasticity and often increase the very limited range of motion of joints in a natural environment allowing increased movement and coordination in a much easier manner than in a terrestrial environment. A person who scuba dives could learn and demonstrate independence by keeping himself safe, as well as the safety of his colleagues. Diving encourages a person to spend time with other people and, as such, provides an opportunity to be in a group whose members include people without disabilities, as well as people with locomotor system dysfunction, providing a sense of affiliation with the group and responsibility for it. members and create a positive mental state.

Abstract

Academic learning and sports coaching are things that must be done by Sports Class (KKO SMA) students. Specific and well-planned training, coaching, competition and recovery will ensure optimal development throughout an athlete's career. Academic paths, self-development, and continuing studies from high school to university are factors in preparing for the future. so that academic education and sports skills development must be synergistic. The method used in the research was descriptive with the instrument being a questionnaire adapted from Renzully's three ring prize concept which was tested for validity and reliability on 20 respondents with Cronbach's Alpha with a result of 0.79. so that the results of interest in majors at KKO High School show KKO (M = 4.596, SD = 0.754), Learning and training process (M = 2.662, SD = 0.816), so it can be concluded that school and training schedules are the two lowest items, need to be given attention and special treatment to be scheduled in an organized manner so that training and education can complement each other and be synergistic.
