Abstract

Background: Q-angle is the angle between the quadriceps and patellar tendon and showing the angle of the quadriceps muscle tension. Pelvic widening in women does not occur in men who lead the Q-angle in women begins to enlarge during adolescence than men. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the addition of kinesiology tape on CKC training and stretching without additional kinesiology tape on CKC training and stretching in women. Methods: This research was a randomized experimental design with pre-test and post-test group design. The sample contain by 24 people divided into two groups of 12 people each. Treatment group with the addition of kinesiology tape on CKC training and stretching, while the control group only CKC training and stretching. This research was conducted for 8 weeks, 2 times in a week. The data collected by the Q-angle measured using a goniometer at the time before and after treatment. Result: The results of data analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test, Q-angle was obtained with p = 0.002 for the different treatment groups with an average of 12.25 and in control group acquired Q-angle, with p = 0.002 with 6.416 average difference, and different 47.59% with treatment group. Mann-Whitney test results the average of difference of decreasing of treatment group is 18.5 and the average of difference of control group is 6.5 different 64.86% with treatment group, showed that there were significant differences in the decrease in Q-angle between the two groups with the result p = 0.001 (p <0.05). Conclusion: Conclusions of research are: the addition of kinesiology tape on the training of Closed Kinetic Chain (CKC) and stretching better in reducing excessive Q-angle in women. Suggestion: For the next research suggest to add dependent variables as: muscle strength, functional and speed of muscle contraction of Vastus Medial Oblique (VMO), individual addressing treatment, and use x-ray as measurement tool.

Abstract

Lansia mengalami penurunan fungsi musculoskeletal akibat proses penuaan. Penurunan fungsi muskuloskeletal menyebabkan berbagai masalah kesehatan, salah satunya meningkatnya risiko jatuh. Risiko jatuh meningkat diakibatkan oleh penurunan aktivitas fisik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara aktivitas fisik dan risiko jatuh pada lansia di Denpasar Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analitik cross sectional yang dilakukan pada bulan Maret tahun 2018. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara Consecutive Sampling. Jumlah sampel 41 orang (38 perempuan, 3 laki-laki) dengan usia 60-80 tahun. Variabel independen ialah aktivitas fisik yang diukur menggunakan kuisioner General Practice Physical Activity Questionnaire. Variabel dependen adalah risiko jatuh diukur menggunakan Berg Balance Scale. Uji hipotesis yang digunakan ialah Chi Square Test yang mendapatkan nilai p sebesar 0,000 (p<0,05) dan Spearman’s Rho didapatkan korelasi positif kuat (r=0,608). Kesimpulannya adalah terdapat hubungan signifikan antara aktivitas fisik terhadap risiko jatuh pada lansia di Denpasar Barat. Semakin kurang aktivitas fisik lansia maka semakin tinggi risiko jatuh yang dimilikinya. Kata kunci : Aktivitas Fisik, Risiko Jatuh, Lanjut Usia

Abstract

Passive Range Of Motion (PROM) is given to elderly to prevent complications that occur in the long immobilization conditions. The aimed of this study is there any improvement response of blood pressure after giving PROM for thirty minutes and how much is the improvement. This research is an experimental study with the method of one-group pretest-posttest design, with 10 peoples sample, the elderly (> 60 years), without having a chronic illness. Elderly who difable don’t be included in this study. The sampling technique used is the saturated sampling. This study was conducted over three days, each day was measured before treatment and after treatment to see the response of blood pressure increase caused by PROM thirty minutes of training in the elderly. Data were analyzed using SPSS computer software that is shapiro wilk test to test of normality distribution and paired t-test or the wilcoxon signed rank test. The result of wilcoxon sign rank test on the first day, systolic p = 0.005 (p <0.05) and diastolic p = 0.005 (p <0.05) seen here there is a significant difference. The results of paired t-test test to see the difference in the response of blood pressure in systole and diastole second day and third day, on the second day systolic p = 0.005 (p <0.05); diastole p = 0.012 (p <0.05); on the third day systole p = 0.0001 (p <0.05); and on the third day of diastole p = 0.015 (p <0.05), it seemed that there were significant differences in systolic and diastolic blood pressure in the second and third days. The conclusion of this study is the response of blood pressure after PROM exercise is 5 – 8 mm Hg for systolic, and 3 – 4 mm Hg for diastolic.

Abstract

Penyesuaian berat badan secara terus menerus merupakan salah satu faktor yang dicurigai dapat menyebabkan foot hyperpronation. Penyesuaian tersebut dikaitkan dengan indeks massa tubuh (IMT) yang tinggi dan lingkar perut yang besar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara IMT dan lingkar perut terhadap foot hyperpronation pada perempuan dewasa di Desa Batuan, Sukawati, Gianyar. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah analitik potong lintang dengan teknik purposive sampling pada 135 perempuan dewasa yang dilakukan pada bulan Maret 2018. Variabel IMT diklasifikasikan menurut WHO Asia Pacific, lingkar perut diukur dengan midline dan foot hyperpronation diukur dengan goniometer. Hasil analisis chi square dan spearman’s rho mengenai hubungan kedua variabel menunjukkan nilai p>0,05, sehingga dapat diartikan tidak ada hubungan yang bermakna antara IMT dan lingkar perut terhadap foot hyperpronation. Namun hasil lain menunjukkan pengaruh aktivitas fisik pada overweight dan obese berhubungan signifikan terhadap foot hyperpronation dengan nilai p<0,05. Abstract

Fleksibilitas otot ialah kemampuan jaringan otot untuk memanjang semaksimal mungkin dengan lingkup gerak sendi yang normal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara fleksibilitas otot hamstring terhadap keseimbangan dinamis pada lansia. Penelitian ini ialah penelitian analitik cross sectional. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara acak sederhana. Jumlah sampel ialah berjumlah 108 orang. Sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 108 orang (50 laki-laki, 58 perempuan) usia 60-75 tahun. Variabel independen yang diukur adalah fleksibilitas otot hamstring dengan Sit and Reach Test, sedangkan variabel dependen yang diukur adalah keseimbangan dinamis dengan Time Up And Go Test. Uji hipotesis yang digunakan ialah Chi Square Test untuk menganalisis signifikansi hubungan antara antara fleksibilitas otot hamstring terhadap keseimbangan dinamis. Pada perhitungan analisis, output data diketahui nilai p ialah 0,025 atau p < 0,05. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara fleksibilitas otot hamstring terhadap keseimbangan dinamis pada lansia di desa Serai Kintamani. Abstract

Penjahit merupakan salah satu pekerjaan yang banyak ditekuni oleh masyarakat Bali. Namun, penjahit jarang memperhatikan postur kerja saat menjahit. Hal ini dapat dapat menyebabkan myofascial pain syndrome otot upper trapezius jika dilakukan dalam jangka waktu lama. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan postur kerja saat menjahit dengan terjadinya myofascial pain syndrome otot upper trapezius pada penjahit di Kecak Garmen. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik dengan rancangan cross- sectional. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik Simple Random Sampling. Jumlah sampel penelitian ini sebanyak 70 orang. Data dianalisis menggunakan Chi-Square Test dan memiliki hubungan signifikansi dengan nilai p sebesar 0,000 (p<0,05). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini bahwa ada hubungan yang signifikan postur kerja saat menjahit dengan terjadinya myofascial pain syndrome otot upper trapezius pada penjahit di Kecak Garmen. Abstract

Individual that greater use of information and communication technologies such as computer, smartphone, or other media has the tendency failure of body postures. Laptop usage has been associated with adolescent neck pain, with daily use of computers exceeding 2-3 hours as a threshold to forward head posture. Forward head posture can affect the result of reducing cervical alignment and mobility of the neck. There are exercises that intention to improving the cervical alignment and mobility, particularly sling-based manual therapy and stabilization exercise. A sling device provide the research subject with optimal loading of each target segment, in actual neutral position, and an environment for exercise in a closed kinetic chain. Spinal mobilization techniques used in manual spinal treatment activate the descending pathway from the peritubular gray region (PAG) of the midbrain. Moreover, stabilization exercise affect postural control through concurrent contractions of the agonist and antagonist muscles to improving cervical alignment and mobility. Abstract

Introduction: Ollier disease (OD) is a non-hereditary, an uncommon bone disorder that typically presented by multiple or unilateral enchondromatosis associated with the deformity of the extremities. This article describes a case of a patient with OD that contribute endochondral ossification of the femoral bone and the physical therapy management.Case Description: An eight years old female patient referred to physical therapy unit after resection of right femur enchondroma, had undergone surgery for bone lengthening with external fixation. Further, the patient has been undergone surgical intervention for the tibial enchondromatosis. Physical therapy management aimed to improve the range of motion, pain, gait pattern, and activity of daily living. After three sessions of intervention, the patient reported the improvement in the pain and range of motion of the right lower limb.Conclusion: The physical therapy management might improve the pain and lower limb range of motion after the surgical intervention in femoral OD.

Abstract

Introduction: To prevent the spread of the virus during the COVID-19 pandemic, all students in Indonesia were learning from home using laptops for long durations, that cause neck disabilities. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between laptop use and disability in the neck region. Methods: This study was analyzed using multivariate logistic regression analysis with 106 students in semesters 3rd, 5th, and 7th as participants. Data was taken using a questionnaire on a google form which was distributed in August 2021. Participant data such as age, gender, semester level, height, weight, physical activity per day and per week, use of Kinesio taping, any physiotherapy action taken for neck pain, use of pain medication, use of laptops per day and per week, and ergonomic position were collected as predictors of neck pain which were interpreted if the neck disability index questionnaire (NDI) value was >60%. Results: This study showed the results of 106 participants that have been analyzed, an increase of 1 hour of laptop use in students has a significant relation to an increase in neck pain of 3.1% after adjusting with other variables (p = 0.034). At the same time, other characteristics did not show a significant effect after adjusting with other variables on the occurrence of neck pain. Conclusions: With every increase in the possibility of using a laptop in undergraduate students, there was a significant increase in the risk of developing NDI after adjusting with other variables (gender, use of painkillers, ergonomic position, physical activity, and semester).

Abstract

An ACL injury has been the most common injury for several years. Athletes and players who play the game have the same risk factor to have it. Injury prevention programs must be conducted among teams and could remove team injury costs in medical staff and rehabilitation. This review aims to conduct one prevention program for ACL injury in Indonesian soccer athletes. In Indonesia, this program needs support from all stakeholders, including the coach, chief executor manager, and the medical team. The risk factor of ACL injury is divided into external and internal factors, which have to be the main focus of the medical team to process a program. Prevention program for an ACL injury includes strengthening, agility, plyometrics, balance, and proper warm-up. Those types of exercise should be implemented in intervention among athletes, but they still need their perspectives and health condition.
