Abstract

This paper aims to measure the efficiency level of Sharia Credit Banks in Indonesia over the period of 2012 to 2015. In the first stage, this study uses a Two Stage Approach to measure the level of efficiency with Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) using the Banxia Frontier Analysis (BFA) software. Then, the second stage involves the analysis of factors that influence the efficiency level of a bank by panel data regression method. On the basis of the test, it is revealed that the Sharia Rural Banks in Indonesia during the study period are not been fully efficient. Some internal factors of the bank, namely BOPO ratios, have a significant adverse impact on the efficiency, while KPPM has a positive and significant influence on the efficiency of BPRS in Indonesia. Meanwhile the total asset, NPF and ROA variables have no significant effect on the efficiency, while the interest rate or BI Rate and inflation have a positive and significant influence on the efficiency of the BPRS.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the internal and macroeconomic factors that influence Non-Performing Financing (NPF) of BPRS (Sharia Rural Banks) in Indonesia. Data analysis method used in this study is panel data regression by taking a sample of 54 BPRS from 2012 to 2017 biannually. The results of this study show that toward NPF of BPRS in Indonesia, the variable of Total Asset has no significant effect, CAR and ROA have a negative and significant effect, while OER has a positive and significant effect. Meanwhile, the macroeconomic variables of BI Rate and PDRB have a positive and significant effect toward NPF of BPRS in Indonesia. Lastly, the variables of inflation and unemployment have no effect toward NPF of BPRS in Indonesia.

Abstract

The government issued an emergency public activity restrictions policy to reduce Covid 19 cases. This policy causes people to tend to hoard food to anticipate food shortages. In addition, this policy creates empathy among the community to help others because some people have difficulty earning income. This study determines the effect of subjective norms (SN), perceived behavior control (PBC), health awareness (HAW), perceived social support (PSS), and religiosity (RE) on the intention in hoarding food (INHF) and helping people (INHP)  during restrictions. The respondents comprised 436 people from 22 provinces in Indonesia. Hypotheses were tested using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis method with Partial Least Square (SmartPLS) software. The results showed that SNHF affected INHF, while PBCHF and PBCHP positively affected the INHF and INHP. Moreover, PSS had a positive impact on the INHP, HAW negatively affected INHF and INHP, while RE does not affect INHF and INHP. This study analyzes the impact of the emergency public activity restrictions  (PPKM) policy in influencing SN, PBC, HAW, PSS, and RE to affect INHF and INHP during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia.
