Abstract

The aims of this research to know the growth and production of corn (Zea mays L.) Pioneer-12Variety effect of pruning leaves and giving NPKMg fertilizer. This research is implemented ontrying field Tumpatan Nibung village, Batang Kuis, Sumatera Utara, Medan on April 2012 andfinished on Juli 2012. The research was done by using Completely Randomized Design (RAK)factorial consist of two factors treatment. The first factor is pruning with three levels, M0 (withoutpruning), M1 (prune two leaves) and M2 (prune three leaves). The second factor is NPKMgfertilization with four levels, yaitu P0 (0 kg/Ha), P1 (250 kg/Ha), P2 (500 kg/Ha) dan P3 (750kg/Ha). Result of the research show that the pruning treatment effects real against flowering,harvest, weight of dry shelled per sample and hundred weight of seed grain but it does not effectreal against plant height and harvest index. Abstract

Peanut is one of food plant that has high economical value because of its nutrient content especiallyprotein and fat. The other alternative to increase peanut productivity were application of Tithoniadiversifolia organic matter and SP-36 fertilizer. The aim of the study was to obtain the effect ofapplication Tithonia diversifolia organic matter and SP-36 fertilizer on growth and yield of peanut.The study was conducted at Jl. Pasar I Tanjung Sari, Medan with the height 25 metres abovesea level from May to September 2012. The factorial randomized block design was used twofactors, namely Tithonia diversifolia organic matter (0, 3, 6 and 9 ton/ha) and SP-36 (0, 25, 50, 75and 100 kg/ha). The parameters observed were number of ginofor per sample, number of filled podsper sample, number of empty pods per sample, weight of pods per sample, yield per plot and 100grain weight. The results showed that the Tithonia diversifolia organic matter had no significanteffect on all parameters and SP-36 fertilizer significantly affected 100 grain weight. Abstract

Response of growth of deli tobacco (Nicotiana tabaccum (L.)) on  some kind of lime and  soil types in North Sumatera. Deli tobacco is variety of tobacco that is used as world top quality wrapper of cigar . But, in last years production of deli tobacco had been decreasing because of land degradation. Consequently, it is important to develop deli tobacco plantation to another soil types that is combine by giving some kind of lime. The aim of this research was to examine growth of deli tobacco (Nicotiana tabaccum (L.)) on some kind of lime and soil types in Noerth Sumatera.  The research was conducted in the land of the Research Center of Deli Tobacco (BPTD) Sampali PTPN II, starting from February to May 2012, using a randomized block design (RBD) factorial with two factors and three replications . The first factor is soil types  (alluvial, andosol, hidromorf, ultisol). The second factor is the kind of lime  (dolomite, calsit, kaptan). The results showed that soil types significantly affect on plant height, diameter of stem, number of leave, thick leaf sand,          1 foot thick leaves, long leaves sand, 1 foot long leaves, leaf width sand, and 1 foot wide leaves. Kind of Lime and the interaction between soil and lime is not significantly affect for all parameter observed.   Keywords: soil, lime, Tobacco Deli.

Abstract

Soybean production is influenced by the variety and nutrients available in the soiland plant roots can absorb. This research means to test the response of severalvarieties of soybean (Glycine max L.Merill) for guano fertilizer. Location of theresearch was conducted in the Tanjung Selamat village, Deli Serdang regency,using a randomized block design of two factors they are varieties (Anjasmoro,Burangrang and Argomulyo ) and guano doses (250, 300, 350, 400 and 450kg/ha). The parameters observed were plant height, branch number produtive,number of pods per sample, the number of filled pods per sample,number ofempty pods per sample, weight of dry seed per sample, weight of dry seed perplot, weight of 100. The results showed that varietie significantly influenced toplant height, branch number produtive, number of pods per sample, the number offilled pods per sample,number of empty pods per sample, weight of dry seed persample, weight of dry seed per plot, weight of 100. Varieties and fertilizertreatment interaction effect was not apparent guano on all parameters.Key word : soybean, variety, guano

Abstract

ABSTRACTGrowth and Production Some Varieties of Upland Rice with Application Liquid Organic Fertilizer.This research aims to study the growth and production of some varieties of upland rice to liquidorganic fertilizer. The research was conducted in the field UPT BBI, Tanjung Selamat at an altitude± 57 meters above sea level since May 2012 until August 2012 using Randomized Block Design(RBD) factorial with two factors, which are the varieties (Situ Bagendit, Situ Patenggang andTowuti) and liquid organic fertilizer (0, 10, 20, 30 cc/liter). The parameters measured were plantheight, number of tillers, number of panicle, number of empty grain, the amount of grainproductive, productive grain weight, grain 1000 grain weight, and grain production per plot. Theresults showed that the treatment of varieties significantly affect of plant height, number of tillers,number of panicle, productive grain weight, grain 1000 grain weight, and grain production per plot.Liquid organic fertilizer non significant affect to all of parameters. The interaction between thevarieties and liquid organic fertilizer non significant affect to all of the parameters.Keywords: varieties, liquid organic fertilizer, upland rice

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe response of cocoa seedlings growth (Theobroma cacao L.) by application some composition ofcocoa waste compost with subsoil ultisol and leaf fertilizer. The research was conducted incommunity land, Tanjung Selamat at analtitude ± 57 meters above sea level since May 2012 untilSeptember 2012 using Randomized Block Design (RDB) factorial with two factors. The first factoris Cocoa Waste Compost with Subsoil Ultisol (25 + 4975, 75 + 4925, 125 + 4875, 175 + 4825, 225+ 4775 g/polybag). The second factor is leaf fertilizer (1, 3, and 5 cc/liter). The Parameter observedincludes plant hight (cm), diameter of stem (mm), leaf area total (cm2), fresh and dry weight ofcrown (g) fresh and dry weight of root (g). The result of reseach showed that planting mediainfluential significantly on plant height and diameter of stem. Present of leaf fertilizer influentialsignificantly on diameter of stem and dry off root. Interaction between planting media present offertilizer not influential significantly on plant height, diameter of stem, total of broad leaf, fresh anddry weight of crown, fresh and dry off root.Key words : cocoa waste compost, leaf fertilizer, cacao, nursery

Abstract

The use of chemical fertilizersis an alternative that is often selected farmers toincrease the production of shallot. Because of that giving of vermicompost and rabbit urine is expectedto replace the role of chemical fertilizers in increasing the growth and production of shallot. Thisresearch had been conducted at Farm Resident on street Pasar I number 89 Tanjung Sari, Medanfrom May until July 2013 using factorial randomized block design with two factor, i.e. dose ofvermicompost (0, 15, 30 and 45 g vermicompost/plant) and dose of rabbit urine (0, 125 and 250 cc/l).Parameter observed were plant height, tillers number per clump, leaves number per clump, clovenumber per sample, wet weight tuber per sample, wet weight tuber per plot, dry weight tuber persample, and dry weight tuber per plot. The result showed that vermicompost treatment not significantlyaffected all of parameter observed. Rabbit urine treatment increase plant height, tillers number perclump, clove number per sample, wet weight tuber per sample, wet weight tuber per plot, dry weighttuber per sample, and dry weight tuber per plot. The treatment interaction significantly effected onparameters tillers number per clump and clove number per sample. Abstract

ABSTRACTThe growth and yield of a selected tobacco varieties (Nicotiana tabaccum L) treated withmycorhiza fungi arbuskular were evaluated in a field experiment. The aimed of the research was todetermine the effect of mycorhiza fungi on the growth and yield of several varieties of tobacco. Theresearch was conducted outdoor in the field at Balai Benih Penelitian Tembakau Deli Medan withaltitude of about 25 meters above sea level at the beginning of February until May 2012, with twotreatment factors. The first factors is Varieties of tobacco (Tobacco deli varieties F1-45, VirginiaTobacco varieties NC 95, Tobacco varieties Deli Deli-4), the second factors is mycorhiza fungiarbuskular (without mycorhiza fungi arbuskular, 15 g/plant, 30 g/plant and 45 g/plant). Theparameters measured were plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, and sand leaf length. Theresults showed that mycorhiza fungi arbuskular showed the best results for the parameters of plantheight, and steam diameter. Varieties significant effect on the parameters of plant height, stemdiameter, sand leaf weight. Combination treatment with different varieties mycorhiza significanteffect on plant height and stem diameter.Keywords: Mycorrhiza, varieties, Nicotiana tabaccum.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of paclobutrazol and potassium fertilizer onthe growth and yield of peanuts. The research was conducted at Pasar I Tanjung Sari street, Medanwith the height of 25 metres above sea level, began from May until October 2013. The research wasarranged with a randomized block design with two factors. The first factor was concentration ofpaclobutrazol ( 0 ; 75 ppm ; 150 ppm and 225 ppm ) and the second was dose of KCl ( 0; 0.15 g ;0.3 g and 0.45 g ) . The parameters observed were plant height, number of ginofor, number ofproductive branches, number of unproductive branches, days to flowering, harvesting, pod weightper sample, number of filled pods per sample, number of empty pods per sample, weight of grainper sample, weight of grain per plot and weight of 100 grains. The results showed that plant height,number of ginofor, number of productive branches, days to flowering, pod weight per sample,number of filled pods per sample, weight of grain per sample, weight of grain per plot, and weightof 100 grains were significantly affected by paclobutrazol concentration. However all parametersobserved were unsignificantly affected by dose of KCl. There was also no interaction betweenpaclobutrazol concentration and dose of KCl .Key words : peanuts , paclobutrazol , KCl fertilizer.
