Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

The identified major compounds from Kaffir lime peels oil were sabinene, ß-pinene, limonene, a-pinene, There has a good potential for antioxidant and antimicrobial This is important because more than 50% antimicrobial drugs discovered a few decades of natural product. the number pathogens that are resistant to commercial drugs has increased. kaffir lime is one of the compounds from natural sources to be expected to have great anti-microbial activities. kaffir lime leaves (720 g) were collected from the plantation to hydrodistillation for 7 hours to obtain the essential oil. all hydrodistilled-essential oil were tested for antioxidant and antimicrobial activity against pathogens (E. coli). The essential oil has a good activity as antioxidants with IC50 75,77 µg/mL. essential oils of kaffir lime leaves were presented antimicrobial activity against E. coli. The essential oil showed weak antimicrobial activity.

Abstract

Dayak onions plants are mostly found in Middle of Borneo area which Dayak ethnic used for medicinal plant. General the part is only the tubers while the leaves are often removed and rarely used. Dayak leeks contain alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, and tannins. Based on the content of dayak scallions, it is suspected that the metabolite compound has activity in inhibiting the growth of Escherichia coli. The aim of the study was determine of inhibitory for antibacterial activity of extract dayak (Eleutherine palmifolia Merr.) against Escherichia coli. The extraction of dayak leeks was done by maseration method using ethanol 70%. Antibacterial activity test dayak leeks extract using disc diffusion method with any other concentrate. Positive control is Ceftriaxone and negative control is ethanol 96%. Tool that was used for measurement of inhibitory zone is calipers. The result of this test indicate extract dayak leeks have antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli on concentrate 100%, 80%, 60%, 40%, and 20% with average diameter of inhibitory zone are 21.88mm (to strong); 19.88mm (strong); 17.68mm (strong): 9.81mm (medium); 3.32mm (weak). The result of SPSS analysis indicate that each extract concentrate have a different significant result (P<0,000).

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is one of the third highest chronic diseases in the world after hypertension. Diabetes mellitus is the highest disease in the Pioneer Pharmacy Kuripan Banjarmasin. The potential for interaction occurs when a patient takes two or more drugs at the same time with the effect of the interaction being beneficial or harmful or even harmful. This study aims to evaluate the potential interactions of oral antidiabetic drugs for the period January - December 2020. This type of research is non-experimental with retrospective data collection. The number of population according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria was 784 prescription sheets from 1,015 prescription sheets. Samples were calculated using the lameshow formula and proportional random sampling technique. The instrument used is an observation sheet. The data were analyzed using the online Medscape drug interaction checker 2021 literature and the Drug Interaction Fact 2010 literature. The results showed that the number of drug combinations with potential interactions based on the mechanism of action was 149 (39.52%) and based on pharmacodynamics 74 (48.05%), pharmacokinetics 33 (21.43%), and 47 or 30.52 unknowns. %. Meanwhile, based on severity, serious 1 (0.65%), moderate 121 (78.57%), minor 32 (20.78%).

Abstract

South Kalimantan Province has the highest prevalence rate in Indonesia, which is 44.13%. Data from the Banjarmasin Indah Health Center Report for 2021 shows that there are 1,161 cases of hypertension and have an elderly Posyandu with the highest disease of hypertension. Efforts to improve the health status of the elderly by increasing the knowledge of the elderly through the provision of drug information, one of which is through the media of leaflets. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of providing information on hypertension drugs using leaflets for elderly patients at the Posyandu Lansia Melati. The study used a quasi-experimental design with the one group pre and post test method. Data collection prospectively in March-April 2022 using a total sampling technique. Data analysis using the Wilcoxon test to see the effectiveness of providing drug information. The results showed the level of knowledge before being given drug information was in the good category at 23.22% and after being given drug information through leaflets there was a significant change with the good category at 100% (p <0.05). The conclusion of the study showed providing information on hypertension drugs using leaflets was effective in increasing the level of knowledge of hypertensive patients.
