Abstract

Cultural impact in international airport development for the  surrounding community is very important to be analyzed. Those analyzation very useful for the new airport development, because we can anticipate the positive and negative impact of the international airport development. As for the result of the positive and negative impact of Ngurah Rai International Airport development are catagorizied into aspect of values (thinking pattern), social, and artifact.

Abstract

Many villas in Ubud is located around agricultural land owned by farmers who are members of Subak. There is a deal that the villas are required to provide material contributions to local institutions, including Subak. Such contributions produce caritative framework which not in line towards the sustainability of tourism development. This paper addresses to offer the guidelines of sustainable tourism practice in Ubud, Bali. To fulfill this purpose, data has been collected from observations and interviews with selected informants and then analyzed descriptively. The analysis indicated that there is dualism perspective against agriculture, which has implications towards exclusivity in-group, especially farmers and villas. Each group attempts to maintain the dualism perspective by applying various tactics, which can lead to disharmonies relations between groups. It requires social guidance in order to reduce caritative framework by creating common tourism sphere through agrotourism.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The holy monkey forest Sangeh is well-known of Macaca Fascicularisin in the 10 ha of pala (Dipterocarpus Trinervis) forest. Beside the forest which is hundred years old, these attraction also have Bukit Sari temple since 17th century when the Mengwi kingdom exist. Others attraction are Melanting, Tirta, Anyar temple, and lanang wadon (male-female) tree. These tourist attraction is managed by local traditional village (desa adat) Sangeh. The guide has a big role in tourism development. In order to do their duty, they have to make the tourist understand and pay attention to them, so it can give good image for the tourist attraction. The cross cultural understanding is the key success to improve the interaction quality between host and guest in the service context. The guide needs to pay attention of the different culture in communication as they interact with the tourist intensively. The local guides understand well the background of Sangeh tourist attraction, history, tradition, local genius, international politic, geography, and gastronomy. However, the skill of the local guide in speaking English language are varieted, some people can speak fluently but some of them not. Most of the local guide was not joining the foreign language course; however, some of them had worked in the big hotel. They also have some difficulties to communicate foreign languages and that make little conversation with the tourist that visit Sangeh. From the tourist culture aspect shows that the local guides have lack understanding of history, site background, and customs of the tourist. The local guides also have some difficulties after escorting the tourist guides as they don’t want the tourist think that they expect the tipping aggresively.

Abstract

In an effort to realize Negari village into a tourist village community groups still face many obstacles, particularly in terms of the development of tourist facilities, preparation of travel products and promotional efforts or sales through conventional media and website. Such problems arise due to the low level of understanding and skills of partners in encouraging the development of rural tourism in Negari. Departing from this situation will require an effort to increase the capacity (ability) group of partners in developing tourism products and promotion of rural tourism through a series of training programs, workshops on a local basis. The methods used to realize the program IbM in Pakraman Negari, among others: (1) education and training of potential introduction, the preparation of facilities and packaging of travel packages, (2) training of management of the tourist village (3) training local guide, and (4) education and training create a website based audio-visual and IT.

Abstract

The local community always took for granted the establishment of a tourist village as a rural tourism product. Likewise prevailed in Pinge Tourism Village, Tabanan Regency, Bali. In the context of developing rural tourism products in the Pinge Tourism Village, the participation of local communities is required to ensure the sustainability of tourism in rural areas. This paper aims to build a model for developing local community-based rural tourism products in Pinge Tourism Village. Community-based tourism (CBT) approaches are used to formulate models for rural tourism product development. The required data is collected through observation and interviews and then analyzed descriptively. The results of the analysis indicate local community-based rural tourism products are tourist pull factors in rural areas in the form of environmental characteristics and the practice of rural communities. The uniqueness of rural character and rural community routines are tourism capital posses by local communities. In addition to physical and socio-cultural uniqueness, rural tourism products are also determined by conformity with the target market. The existence of this rural tourism product model can increase local community participation in decision making and sharing of tourism benefits.

Abstract

This paper addressed the process of the development of community-based rural tourism products in Pinge Tourism Village. Community-based rural tourism products are acknowledged as a tourist attraction in rural areas created by local communities be based on the tourism resources that possess by communities themselves. Pinge Tourism Village has a various of tourism resources that can be developed as a local community-based rural tourism product. From the inside of the physical environment resources to the diversity of social and cultural heritage. In adaptation with the mapping of tourism resources, can be determined the themes of development of community-based rural tourism products. There are four themes that can be considered for the development of community-based rural tourism products in Pinge Tourism Village, specifically spiritual routine, agricultural routine, gastro-cultural routine, and communal routine. These four themes further form the basis for determining community-based rural tourism products or special interest tourism activities of traditional villages in Pinge Tourism Village. There are several guidelines for the development of community-based rural tourism products that can be developed in Pinge Tourism Village such as spiritual tourism, agritourism, culinary tourism, and rural nightlife attraction.

Abstract

This article examines the local community participation in the Candidasa tourism area, Karangasem, Bali. The objectives are to identify the capital exchange practice of local communities with the tourism industry and then determine the type of local communities’ participation in the development of Candidasa tourism area. The community based tourism approach adopted to understand the phenomenon of local community participation. Based on observations and interviews can be addressed that the communities surrounding the Candidasa relatively have an exhaustive capital. However, the comprehensiveness of such capital is not accompanied by the proper capital exchange strategies by indigenous village institution as a representation of local communities. The local communities only get relief materials from tourism as a result of the capital exchange. Accordance with the practice of capital exchange, it can be said that this type of local community participation is included in the participation for material incentives. This type of community participation is still relatively limited, so it necessary to improve the their involvement into tourism development in Candidasa.

Abstract

The Gap Analysis of Expectancy and Performance of Streetscape as Public Open Space during Car Free Day in Renon Area, Denpasar. The numbers of open public space in Denpasar City have not been able to meet adequate ratios with population growth and urban development. To overcome this problem, one of the efforts that has been made by the government is to utilize the existing infrastructure into a temporary open public space which is the Car Free Day (CFD) Program. The shifting space utilization and the increase of activities on the streetscape will affect people perceptions who go there. This study aims to evaluate the Car Free Day program in Renon area base on the visitor satisfaction and streetscape performance. The analysis methods used are Costumer Satisfaction Index and Gap Analysis. The results of this study indicate that there are still disparities between the expectancy from the visitors with the streetscape performance. Car Free Day's Visitor satisfaction rate in Renon area is 78.4% in the range of 77% <X ? 80% which is "borderline". It means there are some unsatisfactory attributes and the performance needs to be improved.

Abstract

Abstract Village tourism is growing significantly nowadays. It is happening because the transition of mass tourism becomes alternative tourism, which village tourism is a kind of alternative tourism. But, the significant growth of village tourism still facing problem. The problem is about marketing. One of village tourism that facing marketing problem is Blimbingsari Village Tourism. The main objective of this research is to find marketing strategies for Blimbingsari Village Tourism. Data were collected through observation, literature study and interviews the tourism manager that responsible in tourism at Blimbingsari, that is tourism committee. After collecting process, the data analyzed descriptively and analyzed the marketing strategies using the SWOT approach. The result of analysis showed that strength, weakness, opportunity and threat of Blimbingasri Village Tourism could created strategies that supported the marketing of that village tourism. Based on the analysis through the SWOT approach, the strategies are SO strategy that is packaging of product, WO strategy that is promotion, ST strategy that is repositioning, and WT strategy that is giving the extra service for tourist.

Abstract

Gianyar Botanical Garden is one of the environmental conservation which will also be developed into a tourist destination in the village of Kerta. A tourist destination is a place that is owned, facilities, access and community related to him. The development of the Gianyar Botanical Garden as a tourist destination must have the authority, facilities, access and most importantly a positive response from the local community so that tourism in the Gianyar Botanical Garden can run well. Therefore, a research is needed to find out the community's response to the development of the Gianyar Botanical Garden as a tourism destination in Kerta Village. The method used techniques to analyze tourism product data in the Gianyar Botanical Garden and the local community response. Then used a method with descriptive statistical to analyze local community response data obtained through questionnaires. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, questionnaires and literature studies. The informant determination technique uses purposive sampling. The technique of determining respondents uses the Slovin formula. To find out the local community response using the concept of local community response (Swastha and Handoko, 1997). The stages of developing the Gianyar Botanical Garden at the Involvement stage where tourism product development began to be carried out on attractions, facilities, access, marketing and planning. The response of the local community to the development of the Gianyar Botanical Garden as a tourism destination as a whole is very positive or Euphoria where local communities have welcomed the presence of tourism by giving them the trust and approval of community wishes fulfilled, information to local communities regarding the development of the Gianyar Botanical Garden and local communities participating voluntarily.
