Abstract

This purpose of this research was to determine the effect of the mixture of remaining of palm oil empty fruit bunch and the feces of hornet beetle larvae (Oryctes rhinoceros L.) physical properties changes of ultisol soil in the circle area of oil palm plant (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.). This research was conducted at PTPN V Sei Galuh Kampar Regency and at the Soil Science Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University. This research was conducted for third months from May 2018 to August 2018. This research was arranged on using Completely Rendomized Design (CDR) non factorial that consists of 4 treatments and 4 replications. The treatmentsof the mixture of remaining of palm oil empty fruit bunch consisted of 0 kg/plant, 5 kg/plant, 10 kg/plant, and 15 kg/plant. The data was analyzed by the analysis of variance then further test with DNMRT at the significant level of 5%. The observed parameters which is included in the physical soil properties, namely: water content, soil temperature, bulk density, particle density, total of pore space, infiltration, and organic matter. The research suggests that the application of the mixture of remaining of palm oil empty fruit bunch and the feces of hornet beetle larvae increase soil organic matter and have not improved the physical properties of the soil such as water content, soil temperature, bulk density, particle density, total of pore space, and infiltration. Keywords :    soil physical properties, themixture of palm oil empty fruit bunch and the feces of hornet beetle larvae, ultisol soil

Abstract

 The aim of this research is to know Arabica coffee  seedling                (Coffea arabica L.) on medium subsoil Inseptisol. This research  has been conducted in Experimental Garden of Agriculture Faculty of Riau University, Campus Bina Widya km 12,5 Simpang Baru Village, Tampan Sub District, Pekanbaru City. This study was conducted from March to July 2017. This study was conducted using a Complete Randomized Design (CRD). The treatments are several types of organic fertilizer consisting of six treatment namely K0: Without composting,  K1: 50 g TKKS compost per polybag, K2: 50 g tofu waste compost per polybag, K3: 50 g coffee skin compost per polybag, K4: 50 g vermicompost per polybag, K5: 50 g kolarhino per polybag. Each treatment was performed three times in 18 experimental units. Data obtained from the observations were analyzed using variance analysis (Anova). Diversity results are followed by Duncan multiple range test at 5% level. The parameters used were the increase of seedling height, the increase of stem diameter, the increase of leaf number, total leaf area, root volume, seedling dry weight and shoot root ratio. The results showed that some kind of organic fertilizers both to the root volume of other parameters such as the increase of seedling height, the increase of stem diameter, the increase of leaf number, total leaf area, seedling dry weight and shoot root ratio. Provision of organic fertilizer vermicompost provide the best results than other organic fertilizer are TKKS, tofu waste, coffee skin and kolarhino.Keywords: Arabica coffee seedling, organic fertilizer, subsoil Inseptisol

Abstract

The study aims to determine the effect of chicken manure and spacing, and to obstain interactionthe best doses of chicken manure and spacing for growth and production of shallots.This research has been carried in Experimental Station Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau from October 2017 to January 2018. This research was conducted in a factorial which was arranged in a complete randomized design consisting of 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor is chicken manure which is without chicken manure, 10 ton.ha-1, 20 ton.ha-1 and 30 ton.ha-1, and the second factor is spacing of 10 cm x 15 cm, 15 cm x 15 cm and 20 cm x 15 cm. The data obtained were further tested by Duncan's Multiple Range Test 5%. The interaction chicken manure and spacing were significant in increasing fresh tuber weight and tuber weight worth keeping and the interaction of chicken manure application and spacing was not significant in increasing plant height, number of leaves per clump, number of tubers per clump and tuber wrap. The giving of chicken manure at a dose of 30 ton.ha-1 and a spacing of 20 cm x 15 cm resulted in a tuber weight worth the highest, namely 1193,80 g.m-2(11,938 ton.ha-1)Keywords: Shallot, chicken manure, plant spacing and soil Inceptisol

Abstract

The research aims to study the effect of combination of LCC Mucuna sp. and earthworms Pontoscolex sp. and to obtain the best combination treatment on physical changes of the inceptisol at the plam plantation. The experiment has been conducted at the experimental farm of the Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau, Pekanbaru from Februari to Juni 2018. The experimental unit was arranged in a completely ramdomized design (RAL), consisting of 9 combinations of the ground the LCC Mucuna sp. with the feeding of the earthworms Pontoscolex sp. and repeated it 3 times. Parameter observed were the rate of infiltration, water level, bulk density, particle density, total pore spaces, permeability and soil organic matter. Data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance and comparemean of variables observed by using Duncan New Multiple Range Test an significant level of 5 %. The result showed an increase in combinations of the ground the LCC Mucuna sp. with the feeding of the earthworms Pontoscolex sp. increase water levels, total pore spaces and organic material soils and tend to increase rate of infiltration, particle density and permeability and decrease bulk density at the oil palm wicket. The combinations treatment LCC Mucuna sp. 8 plants/plot with eartworms Pontoscolex sp. 45 tails/plot produced in a change in the best physical properties of the soil compared with other treatments.Keyword: LCC Mucuna sp., earthworms Pontoscolex sp

Abstract

One effort to improve the chemical properties of peat soils and the growth of rubber trees is by planting a legume cover crop Mucuna bracteata. The research aims to determine the chemical properties of the soil and the growth of rubber trees in peat soils without overgrown Mucuna bracteata with peat soils ex overgrown Mucuna bracteata and peat soil that overgrown Mucuna bracteata. The research was conducted in January – March 2016 in peat land at social plantation areal of PT. RAPP Teluk Meranti. The research was conducted by survey method where the determination of location specified by Stratified Random Sampling method and the determination of sample point specified by Simple Random Sampling method. The results showed that peat soil which is overground Mucuna bracteata has a pH value, C-organic, N-total, P-total, KTK, KB and the growth of rubber trees better than peat soils ex overgrown Mucuna bracteata and peat soils withouth overgrown Mucuna bracteata.Keywords : Peat soil, chemical properties, Mucuna bracteata, rubber.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of solid bio-slurry interaction and urea fertilizer as well as get the best dose of the plant pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.). The research has been conducted in Experimental Garden of Agriculture Faculty of Riau University, Campus Bina Widya km 12.5 Simpang Baru Village, Tampan Sub District, Pekanbaru. This research was conducted for 1 month starting from January to February 2018. This research was conducted experimentally with Factorial Random Design (FRD) which consists of 2 factors. The first factor is the provision of bio-slurry consisting of 3 levels, namely: B0 (Without administration), B1 (500 g.m-2), B2 (1000 g.m-2). The second factor was Urea fertilizer consisting of 3 levels: U0 (Without administration), U1 (10 g.m-2), U2 (20 g.m-2) The data obtained were analyzed by fingerprint and tested further by Duncan multiple range test at the 5% level.The parameters observed were plant height, leaf number, leaf area, fresh weight of plant and weight of plant feasible.The results showed that the provision of solid bio-slurry and Urea fertilizer increased plant height, leaf number, leaf area, weight fresh plant and weight is feasible for consumption of pakcoy crops Provision of 1000 g.m-2solid Bio-slurry can increase plant height, leaf number, leaf area, fresh weight of plant and weight of consumption of the plant pakcoy.Urea fertilizer 20 g.m-2can increase plant height, leaf number, leaf area, fresh weight of plant and weight of consumption worth of pakcoy plant.Supply of 1000 g.m-2solid Bio-slurry and Urea 20 g.m-2fertilizer showed better effect on high parameter, leaf number, leaf levers, fresh weight and weight is feasible consumption of pakcoy plants. Keywords: Plant pakcoy, Bio-Slurry solid, urea fertilizer

Abstract

Dragon fruit (Hylocereus costaricensis) is one of the cactus plants that are relatively new in the middle of Indonesian people and quite popular because it tastes sweet and has a variety of health benefits. One way to increase productivity is with the selection of good crop seeds. Plant multiplication has two ways that are vegetative and generative. The multiplication of plant plants used is cuttings. For the growth of goodcuttings then it is necessary planting media that has a lot of nutrient content that is with the addition of organic fertilizer (goat + cow) and mulch organic (sawdust). This research aims to get interaction of organic fertilizer composition with organic mulch and best dose for breeding dragon fruit crop cuttings. The research was conducted in the experimental plantation, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau from April to September 2017. The treatment given is the dosing of organic fertilizer with the following doses : P0 = whitout treatmented  P1 = (10 ton. Ha-1 + 20 ton. Ha-1), P2 = (20 ton. Ha-1 + 10 ton. Ha-1), M0 = without treatmented, M1 = (5 ton. Ha-1), M2 = (8 ton. Ha-1). The research was conducted experimentally using a complete randomized design method (RAL) both combined factors, gained 9 combinations of treatment and each treatment repeated 3 times, so there were 27 units of experiments. Based on the results of the study of organic fertilizer goat and cow with a composition of organic fertilizer mixture(goat 20 ton. Ha-1 + cows 10 ton. Ha-1) and organic mulch 5 ton. Ha-1 is the best treatment in increasing the growth of fruit crop cuttings dragon fruit. Keywords: dragon fruit cutting,organic fertilizer, organic mulch.

Abstract

1. Mahasiswa Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Riau2. Dosen Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Riau  Tomatoes are seasonal vegetable crops that consumed in a fresh food and contain vitamins and minerals. In 2015 tomato production in Riau Province decreased by 27 tons from 2014 due to the conversion of agricultural land and unproductive land. This study aims to determine the effect of acacia leaf compost application and get the best dose that can increase the growth and yield of tomato plants. Field experiments were performed using a completely non factorial randomized design (RAL) with three replications. The doses of acacia leaf compost used were 10 ton.ha-1, 20 ton.ha-1  dan 30 ton.ha-1. The data obtained were analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) using SAS application program. The data were significantly different then tested further by testing duncan's new multiple range test (DNMRT) at 5% level. Parameters observed were plant height, flowering age, age of first harvest, number of fruit, weight per fruit, fruit twining and fruit weight per plant. The results showed that acacia leaf compost treatment did not give significant effect to plant height parameters, flowering age, harvest age, weight per fruit, and fruit girth. Parameters that show the real effect of the number of fruit and weight of fruit per plant. Keywords : Acacia leaf compos and tomatoes

Abstract

The research aims to find out the effect of rhinoceros beetles larvae feces  (Oryctes rhinoceros) and get the best dosage on growth of palm oil (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) in preproduced-1. This research was conducted at palm oil plantation of PTPN V Sei Galuh Pantai Cermin Village, Tapung District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province, that was arrange completely randomized design (RAL) non-factorial with 4 levels and replicated 4 times, so there are 16 experimental units. The dosage for treatment of O. rhinoceros larvae feces (K) consists of 0, 5, 10 and 15 kg per plant. The observed parameters were increase plant height, increase number of plant midribs, increase plant stem circumference, increase length of plant midribs and increase number of plant leaves.  The results of the research showed that the effect of O. rhinoceros larvae feces increased the growth of palm oil in preproduced-1, as seen on parameters ofincrease plant height, increase number of plant midribs, increase plant stem circumference, increase length of plant midribs and increase number of plant leaves. The treatment of O. rhinoceros larvae feces at dose 15 kg per plant showed the highest impact on increase plant height with 62.50 cm, increase number of plant midribs with 14.00 strands, increase plant stem circumference with 37.25 cm, increase length of plant midribs with 50.75 cm and increasenumber of plant leaves with 10.50 strands. Keywords:Organic fertilizer of O. rhinoceros larvae feces, palm oil.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the effect of the combination of oil palm bunch ash with urea fertilizer on the growth of cocoa seedlings (Theobroma cacao L.) in peat soil and to know the best dose. This research was conducted in experimental garden of Agricultural Faculty of University of Riau on December 2016 until March 2017. This research method used non factorial Complete Random Design (RAL) consisting of 6 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments consisted of 4 g AJKS + 0.5 g Urea, 4 g AJKS + 1 g Urea, 4 g AJKS + 2 g Urea, 8 g AJKS + 0.5 g Urea, 8 g AJKS + 1 g Urea and 8 g AJKS + 2 g Urea. Parameters observed were; plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, leaf area, root volume, ratio root crown and dry weight of cocoa seedlings. The data obtained were analyzed statistically by using vocabulary and then tested further with DNMRT test at 5% level. The combination of AJKS with urea fertilizer in peat soil significantly affected the diameter of stem, root volume. However, the effect was not significant on plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, leaf area, ratio root crown and dry weight of cocoa seedlings. The results of this study indicate that giving AJKS combination with urea fertilizer with dose 8 g AJKS + 2 g urea in peat soil produces the best growth of cocoa seedlings. Keywords : Oil palm bunch ash, Urea fertilizer, Peat soil, Cocoa
