Abstract

This research is held at the greenhouse of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru starts in  March to August 2016. The trial uses the factorial of Complete Random Program (RAL). The first factor of the water tension comprises of three levels, they are : (pF 1 - 1,97), (pF 2,29 - 2,54) and (pF 2,70 - 3) and the second factor of the fertilization dosage of  N, P, and K which comprises of four levels without fertilization of N, P, and K, given ½ x recommended dosage, given recommended dosage, and given 1½ x recommended dosage. The process is repeated three times. The data of observation result could be statistically analysed with ANOVA and followed by Duncan test at 5% level. The observed parametre are nutrients uptake of N, P and K, the efficiency of absorption of N, P, and K, height of plants, phase of malai's appearances, number of productive tiller, ratio of stem and root,  period of harvest, weight of 1000 paddy seeds and product efficiency. The result of this research shows the interaction of water tension and fertilisation dosage of N, P, and K visibly influnce the nutrients of N, P, and K, height of plants,  ratio of stem and root, and weight of 1000 paddy seeds. Invisibly influence to the phase of malai's appearances, period of harvest, and number of productive tiller. Combination of  water tension  pF 1 - 1,97 and fertilization dosage 1 ½ x recommeded dosage are the best combinations.Keywords: N P and K fertilizer, efficient fertilization, gogo local rice, water  tension, Ultisol

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect using LCC Mucuna bracteata at various land slope of palm TBM-III on soil physical properties and plant root growth of palm oil. This research has been conducted in PTPN V Unit Lubuk Dalam, Siak and the analysis of soil physical properties at Soil Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. This study lasted from January to April 2016. The research was conducted by using split plot design. The level of land slope (K) as the main plot which are: K1 = land slope 0% - 3%, K2 = land slope >3% - 8%, K3 = land slope >8% - 15%. The using LCC Mucuna bracteata (M) as the subplot, which are: M0 = land planted with oil palm without LCC Mucuna bracteata, M1 = land planted with oil palm LCC Mucuna bracteata. Parameters observed are water content airy, soil temperature, bulk density, particle density, total of pore space, permeability, soil organic matter, root dry weight, root volume and root occupy. The results showed: (1) the interaction of land slope and the using LCC Mucuna bracteata does not affect all of the soil physical properties and the root growth of oil palm plantations, except for water content airy in the soil depth 20-30 cm; (2) the land slope only affects the water content airy in the soil depth 0-10 cm; and (3) the using LCC Mucuna bracteata effect on water content airy, bulk density, particle density, total pore space in the soil depth of 0-5 cm, permeability and soil organic matter. Keywords: Mucuna bracteata, land slope, soil physical properties

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of N, P and K on the growth and yield of Bima Brebes and Thailand varieties onion and the best dosage to support in ultisol soil. This research has been conducted in the field of Agricultural Extension Center, Geringging Village. Kampar Kiri, Kampar District, Riau Province. This study was conducted in 2x4 factorial experiment arranged in a randomized completely block design (RCBD) comprises two factors. The first factor is varieties consisting of two levels is Bima Brebes and Thailand. The second factor is the dose of fertilizer, N, P, and K comprising 4 levels, namely: urea 250+ TSP 150 + KCl 100 kg/ ha, urea 500 + TSP 300 + KCl 200 kg/ha, urea 750  + TSP 450 + KCl 300 kg/ha dan urea 100 + TSP 600 + KCl 400 kg/ha. Parameters measured were dry weight, weight of tuber per hill, tuber number, tuber wrap, fresh tuber weight per plot and the weight of feaseable storage of tuber per plot. The result showed that the Thailand varieties of urea fertilizer and 1000 kg/ha + TSP 600 kg/ha + KCl 400 kg/ha gives the highest yield of onion crop.Keywords : Onion, Ultisol Soil, Fertilizer N, P and K.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of LCC Mucuna bracteata in various slope on the development of soil mesofauna and growth of oil palm TBM - III. This research has been conducted in PTPN V Unit Lubuk Dalam, Siak and analysis mesofauna soil in Soil Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. The study lasted from January to April 2016. The study was conducted by using split plot design. The level of slope (K) as the main plot, which are: K1 = land slope of 0% - 3%, K2 = land slope >3% - 8%, K3 = land slope >8% - 15%. Testing LCC Mucuna bracteata (M) as the subplot, which are: M0 = land planted with oil palm without LCC Mucuna bracteata, M1 = land planted with oil palm LCC Mucuna bracteata. The parameters measured were the number of family, total individual, population density (K), relative density (KR), diversity index (H ') of soil mesofauna, root dry weight, root volume and root occupy. The results showed: (1) land planted with oil palm with LCC Mucuna bracteata has a number of families, total individuals and diversity soil mesofauna higher in than those without LCC Mucuna bracteata both at the level of land slope 0% - 3% >3% - 8% , and >8% - 15%; (2) The higher the slope (%), the total individual and population density (K) soil mesofauna lower; and (3) root dry weight, root volume and root occupy a tendency to increase the area planted with Mucuna bracteata LCC compared to land without LCC Mucuna bracteata. Keywords: Mucuna bracteata, land slope and mesofauna

Abstract

Okra is a vegetable plant have long been cultivated in Indonesia, has many benefits, but have not been a lot of consumption. Okra can grow well on sandy soils with high organic matter.This research aims to examine the effect of interactions as well as the main factors of TrichocompostTKKS and N, P, K fertilizersand get a dose of trichocompost interactions of N, P, K fertilizers better against the growth of crops and okra. This research was conducted at the experimental garden ofthe Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau in January-April 2018 in the form of experiments multiplied with 3x4 arranged according to RAL. The first factor of the Trichocompost (T), namely: T0 = without trichocompost, T1 = 5 ton.ha-1and T2 = 10 ton.ha-1. The second factor of N, P, K fertilizer: N0= without fertilizer N, P, K, N1 = (35 kg N, 18 kg P2O5, 30 kg K2O).ha-1, N2 = (46 kg N, 27 kg P2O5, 45 kg K2O).ha-1,N3= (57,5 kg N, 36 kg P2O5, 60 kg K2O).ha-1.The results showed that the interaction Trichocompost TKKS and fertilizers N, P, K has significant effect on flowering age and the dry weight of the plant. The trichocompostTKKS has significant effect on the number of leaves, against the weight of the fruit per plant, the dry weight of the plant, while N, P, K fertilizer gave significant effect on plant height, flowering age, weightfruit per plant, weight dried plants. Trichocompost 5 tons.ha-1 and N, P, K(35 kg N, 18 kg P2O5, 30 kg K2O).ha-1can give you the best results against the growth of crops and okra. Keywords: Okra, Trichocompost, Urea, SP-36, KCl fertilizer

Abstract

Upland rice is a rice producing food crop that needs to be increased by utilizing Ultisol soil. This soil has low organic matter and P is fixed by Al, so it is necessary to provide TKKS compost and phosphor fertilizer. This study aims to determine the combination of TKKS compost with phosphor fertilizer and each of the main factors that can support the growth and yield of upland rice. This research was conducted at the University of Riau Faculty of Agriculture Experimental Garden, starting from February 2018 to June 2018. This research was conducted using factorial randomized complete design. The first factor was TKKS compost (0, 5, 10, and 15) ton.ha­-1, the second factor was phosphorus fertilizer (36.8, 46.0, 55.6, and 64.4) kg P2O5.ha-1. Observation parameters: plant height, number of productive tillers, harvest age, panicle length, number of grains per panicle, percentage of rice grain, weight of empty grain and weight of milled dry grain and weight of 1000 grains of grain. The data obtained were statistically analyzed by variance analysis and further duncan’s multiple range tests (DMRT) at the level of 5%. TKKS compost 15 tons.ha-1  gaves better results for all parameters except the percentage of rice grain and weighs 1000 grains. Phosphor fertilizer 64.4 kg P2O2.ha-1 gave better results for parameters of plant height, panicle length, number of seed grains, and weight of milled dry grain per clump. Combination TKKS compost 15 tons.ha-1 with phosphorus fertilizer 64.4 kg P2O2.ha-1 and 10 tons.ha-1 with 46.0 kg. P2O2.ha-1  provides better results compared to other treatments for all parameters except the percentage of rice grain and weight of 1000 grains. Keywords: TKKS Compost, Phosphorus Fertilizer, Upland Rice and Ultisol

Abstract

Rubert plant was one of important pantation comodity as second source of forign exchange after palm oil. This study aims to determine the interaction of young coconut water and red onion extract in accelerating the breakdown of stum buds in the sleeping eye of rubber plants and their growth.   This research was conducted in the experiement garden of faculty of agriculture of Riau University. This study was a factorial experiement using a completely randomized design, which consists of two factors, such as first factor is the concentration of young coconut water consisting of 0%, 25%, 50% and 75%, while the second factor is the concentration of shallot extract consisting of 0%, 1%, 2%, 3%.  Parameters observed were shoot growth time, shoot length, shoot diameter, number of leaves, shoot dry weight. Giving the concentration of 75% young coconut water and 2% shallot extract gave the best results on the growth of shoot length, number of leavers, bud diameter and ory weight of shoots from the stum rubber sleeping eyes.Giving 75% of young coconut water (containing cytokinin) and 2% onion extract (containing auxin) increases shoot length by 44.17 cm compared to without treatment of 10.33 cm Keywords:young coconut water,red onion extract,rubber sleeping eye stump

Abstract

Cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) is one of the large plantations after oil palm. The increase in cocoa nursery can be accompanied by the utilization of waste derived from palm oil, namely oil palm empty fruit bunches (OPEFB). OPEFB can be useful as organic fertilizer because it can improve soil physical, chemical and biological properties. The use of OPEFB as organic fertilizer will also reduce excessive use of NPK. Utilization of OPEFB into organic fertilizer can be in the form of compost or raw OPEFB organic matter plus cellulolytic and lignolytic microbes. This study aims to determine the effect of NPK fertilizer and OPEFB compost on the growth of cocoa seedlings. This research was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 9 treatments and 3 replications. Parameters of observation were plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, root canopy ratio, dry weight of seedlings and age of planting. The results showed that the provision of 100 g/polybag OPEFB compost plus 50% NPK fertilizer (2 g / polybag) could provide good growth in cocoa seeds (Theobroma cacao L.).Keyword : Cocoa, compost, cellulolytic bacteria, lignolytic bacteria, OPEFB

Abstract

Kabupaten Kampar merupakan satu diantara beberapa sentra penanaman padi di Provinsi Riau. Kendala dalam melaksanakan budidaya tanaman padi yang masih ditemukan diantaranya adalah kurangnya pengetahuan petani tentang teknik budidaya dan pengendalian penyakit pada tanaman padi. Tujuan kegiatan ini ialah untuk mendorong petani agar dapat membuat biofungisida berbahan aktif konsorsium Trichoderma virens dan Pseudomonad berflourescens dalam formulasi Biofungisida Plus untuk pencegahan dan pengendalian penyakit yang menyerang tanaman padi. Kegiatan pemberdayaan petani di Desa Sawah melalui penerapan teknologi pengendalian penyakit tanaman padi dengan biofungisida plus dilaksanakan dengan menerapkan Model Community Development. Pada metode ini secara langsung dilibatkan sebagai subyek dan obyek dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan pemberdayaan masyarakat ini diantaranya ialah, masyarakat bersedia untuk menerapkan teknologi Biofungisida Plus di lahan sawahnya. Berdasarkan hasil kuisioner juga diketahui pemahaman dan wawasan petani bertambah setelah diperkenalkan dengan Teknologi Biofungisida Plus ini. Aplikasi Biofungisida Plus di lahan petani menunjukkan kondisi tanaman yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan teknik budidaya yang biasa digunakan oleh petani.

Abstract

Onion have high economic value that is suitable to be cultivated in peatlands. Efforts to increase onion production can be done with the use of peatlands that have been planted with oil palm immature. Peatlands are managed by the plant spacing and the addition of compost TKKS. The research objective was to determine the effect of plant spacing and composting TKKS the growth and production of onion in the oil palm plantations on peatlands. The research was done in experimentation area Faculty of Agroteknologi Universitas Riau, Rimbo Panjang village, Kampar from June to August 2015. The research was using the Randomized Block Design Factorial with two factors. The first factor of plant spacing with three levels namely: 10 cm x 10 cm, 20 cm x 10 cm dan 20 cm x 20 cm. The second factor of compost dose TKKS  with four levels namely: 5, 10, 15 dan 20 ton/ha. Parameter observed wereplant height, relative growth rate, dry weight, fresh weight tuber per plot, total tuber, rim tuber and dry weighttuber per plot.
