Abstract

The research objective was to analyse the financial aspect of the steamer rack type of oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) baglog. The research was conducted from September 2011 to May 2012 at Kumbung jamur tiram, Talang Buruk Palembang. The methods used in this research were financial analysis that includes cost, the investment (NPV, Net B/C and BEP) and sensitivity analysis. The results showed that the average total cost per year was Rp. 20,724,527.00. The production plan was based on an assumption that 100% from selling price of oyster mushrooms Rp. 15.000,00 for one year was Rp. 26,775,000.00. NPV value was Rp. 11,875,188.00 representing the benefits value over the business life of 3 years. The B/C ratio calculation was 1.25. Break-even point (BEP) was on the price of Rp. 15.000 per kg or 1.381,63 kg of production volume. The results of sensitivity analysis of NPV values was obtained when 10% increase in production costs was Rp. 7,145,325.00 with B/C ratio of 1.13, whereas the value of NPV in 10% reduction of production costs was Rp. 5,957,814.00 with the B/C ratio of 1,12. The results of these research showed that the type rack of steamer oyster mushroom baglog was feasible.Keywords: mushroom steamer baglog, financial analysis, rack type  steamer, oyster mushroom

Abstract

The objective of this research was to study  the performance of stainless steel type slated mouldboard plow at several forward speeds and tillage depths.  The research was conducted at the Experimental Farm of Agricultural Faculty and Chemical Laboratory, Biology and Fertility of Land, Soil Science, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, from October to December 2011.  This research was performed using Randomized Factorial Block Design that consisted of three levels of depth of the plough  (10 cm, 15 cm, and 20 cm), and three levels of  forward speed (2 km/hr, 3 km/hr dan 4 km/hr), and each treatment was repeated three times.  The observed parameters were efficiency of tillage, energy’s need of tillage, and draft of tillage.  The result showed that, the depth of  tillage  and the forward speed of tillage had very significant effect on the performance of tillage.  The best treatment was the depth of  tillage 10 cm and forward speed of tillage 2 km/hr, with efficiency of tillage 90.52 %, energy’s need of tillage 748.98 MJ/ha and draft of tillage 6.87 kg.    Keywords: mouldboard plow, type slated, stainless steel.

Abstract

The aim of was  this research was manufacture of portable incubator machines with daily temperature control. The research was implemented in several stages are tool design and testing of tool. The design of tool consist of temperature control system design. The testing of tool was done 23 days, purposely is to know the percentage of eggs that hatched. The result of research showed that the all equipments of incubator and control system can work purposely that was to raise the temperature as desired. Incubator  has capacity of 15 eggs and of 66.67% hatch egg.  Key words : temperature control system design, eggs, temperature.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat di Desa Sukamulya Kecamatan Indralaya Utara Kabupaten Ogan Ilir Propinsi Sumatra Selatan. Adapun tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat tersebut antara lain :1. Memberikan informasi pengetahuan tentang cara memanfaatkan Ubikayu agar memiliki nilai tambah dengan cara mengolahnya menjadi Rengginang Ubikayu (untuk membedakan dengan Rengginang yang berasal dari Ketan atau Beras).2. memberikan kemampuan tambahan kepada masyarakat cara membuat rengginang sehingga dapat menjadi rintisan untuk industri kecil skala rumah tangga. 3. Menjadikan rengginang sebagai kegiatan yang menambah pendapatan rumah tangga.Kondisi Desa Sukamulya dilingkungi oleh kebun karet milik masyarakat desa tersebut sehingga aktifitas sehari hari sebagaian besar difokuskan pada usaha yang berkaitan dengan kebun tersebut. Mereka menanam ubi kayu (singkong) sebagai tanaman pekarangan, namun hanya dikonsumsi langsung saja, seperti direbus atau digoreng dan tidak ada pengolahan lanjutan. Dengan demikian melalui kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan masyarakat dapat mengolah Ubikayu menjadi Rengginang yang dapat dijual sebagai pendapatan tambahan. Hasil kegiatan ini, mereka menjadi antusias dan sangat tertarikakan pembuatan Rengginang sehingga mereka rela menyediakan waktu di sela-sela kegiatan mengolah tanaman karet untuk membuata Rengginang. Mereka membuat Rengginang baik untuk konsumsi sendiri maupun untuk dijual.

Abstract

Penggunaan alat pengering seperti cabinet dryer berbahan bakar minyak (BBM) atau gas (BBG) untuk pengeringan kerupuk kemplang merupakan solusi dalam mengatasi masalah pengeringan yang terkendala cuaca. Umumnya sistem pengeringan ini menggunakan udara panas sebagai medium pengeringan. Namun, pada penelitian ini akan dikembangkan sistem pengeringan kerupuk kemplang dengan menggunakan uap super panas. Penggunaan uap super panas untuk proses pengeringan didasarkan pada sifat termodinamika uap tersebut yang lebih unggul daripada udara pada kondisi yang sama. Rancangan alat pengering dengan uap super panas akan menggunakan sekam sebagai bahan bakar untuk pemanasan boiler. Berdasarkan uji teknis, perhitungan, dan uraian pembahasan yang telah dilakukan terhadap alat pengering kemplang tipe rak menggunakan uap kering super panas maka diperoleh suhu dan kelembaban relatif ruang pengering didapat sebesar 78oC dan 35%. Laju pengeringan rata-rata sebesar 7,01%/jam, kadar air akhir kemplang rata-rata sebesar 7%, dan kebutuhan energi panas total rata-rata 31.419,86 kJ. Efisiensi pengeringan dan efisiensi pemanasan dengan bahan bakar sekam adalah sebesar 7,41% % dan 2,07%. Alat pengering kemplang tipe rak menggunakan sumber panas uap kering super panas dapat diaplikasikan karena memenuhi karakteristik pengeringan.

Abstract

The research objective was to design and test of stove using agricultural waste biomass fuel. Engineering design was used in this research. The collected data was presented and tabular and graphical forms. This research was consisted of design, fabrication, technical test and perfomance analysis of stove which used agricultural waste biomass fuel. The observed parameters were combustion operational time, fuel consumption rate, specific gasification rate, combustion efficiency, heat energy input and ash percentage. Results showed that the highest combustion operational time was found on rice husk with magnitude of 0.43 hour and the lowest was found on wood chips with magnitude of 0.22 hour. The highest fuel consumption and gasification rates were found on wood chips with magnitude of 3.92 kg/h and 74.81 kg/m2h, whereas the lowest was found on rice husk with magnitude of 2.33 kg/h and 44.01 kg/m2h. The highest heat energy input value was found on wood chips with magnitude of 5,033.34 kcal, whereas the lowest was found on rice husks with magnitude of 3,411.29 kcal. The highest combustion efficiency was found on rice husk with magnitude of 4.67 % and the lowest was found on acacia leaves of 3.04 %. The highest ash percentage was found at rice husk with magnitude of 30 % and the lowest of 15 % was found on wood chips

Abstract

This study aims to apply image processing techniques in determining the level of fruit maturity based on color and the relationship of color changes with physical and chemical properties in Servo F1 varieties of tomatoes. This research has been conducted at the Laboratory of Agricultural Product Chemistry, Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. This research was conducted from February 2019 until July 2019. This study used a descriptive method. The measured parameters are color, texture, moisture content, total sugar, and total acid. The results showed that the use of image processing methods can help the process of fruit sorting by looking at the relationship between the percentage of red color with the age of picking, the physical and chemical properties of the fruit. The percentage of tomato fruit red color on average ranged from 5.99% for picking age 25+1 days AFB (After the Flowers Bloom), 36.3% for picking age 29+1 days AFB, 67.41% for picking age 32+1 days AFB, and 76.85% for picking age 35+1 days AFB. The coefficient of determination of the relationship between the percentage of red color with the age of picking, texture, water content, total sugar, and total acid was 0.959, 0.908, 0.902, 0.835, and 0.750, respectively.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the need for agricultural machinery to support a cropping index of 200 in swampy land. This research was conducted in August 2021 in Muara Abab Village, Rantau Bayur District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province. This study used a descriptive-tabular method, while collecting primary data using survey techniques and semi-structured interviews. Secondary data collection was obtained through a literature study conducted to collect data on institutions and policies supporting the development of agricultural tools and machinery. The data obtained was processed descriptively and analyzed to see farmers income and the data is presented in the form of tabulations. The results showed that the total income of lebak swamp farmers was IDR 8,963,625.00/ha/year. To support the activities of the index cropping 200, it is necessary to add additional agricultural equipment such as 5 units of 2-wheeled tractors, 1 unit of 4-wheeled tractors, 9 units of water pumps, 5 units of combine harvesters, 14 units of threshers and dryer as much as 2 units. Abstract

This research was motivated by the use of a fixed bed furnace. Fixed bed furnaces are less effective because their use is fixed.  The purpose of this research was to design a mobile drying furnace fueled by sawdust biomass.  This research uses an experimental method with 3 stages of design, namely design approach, functional design and structural design. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The result of this research is a mobile drying furnace designed consisting of a fuel feeder, fuel channel, hopper, combustion chamber and heat exchanger chamber, chimney and furnace outlet channel and channel after the fan that can function properly. Furnace testing was carried out using sawdust fuel. The resulting feed speed is 10.3 kg/hour, the capacity of the combustion chamber for sawdust is 3.4 kg, the average temperature in the fuel feeder is 40.41 °C, in the combustion chamber 414.57 °C, in the heat exchanger 79.80 °C, in the chimney 104.11 °C, in the furnace outlet channel 62.77 °C, in the channel after the fan 46.08 °C, the sawdust fuel consumption rate was 5.8 kg/hour and the furnace efficiency obtained in the study was 53.90%. The resulting hot air temperature can be used for drying grain.Key words:  design, efficiency furnace, mobile drying furnace, temperature
