Abstract

AbstractThe present work aimed to develop mathematical model of grain filling of rice from primary and secondary branches within a panicle with increment to their weight (dry basis)-time after anthesis relationships. Three growth models for grain filling of rice were developed follow the exponential, the logistic and Gompertz functions. The grain filling models are expressed with parameters of mass at time zero, mass at time infinity and a measure for relative grain filling rate. Application of all models using data of thousand grain mass (dry basis) of rice from different branches within a panicle for Sintanur and IPB-4S variety were collected every 4 days during 14-30 days after anthesis. Model selection was conducted using Coefficient determination (R2), Root mean square error (RMSE) and Aikake’s Information Criterion (AIC). R2, RMSE and AIC values for the Gompertz models were 0.999, 0.224, -9.949 (rice from primary branch for Sintanur); 0.997, 0.353, -4.512 (rice from secondary branch for Sintanur); 1.000, 0.131, -16.376 (rice from primary branch for IPB-4S) and 0.999, 0.266, -7.877 (rice from secondary branch for IPB-4S) respectively which revealed that theGompertz model was considered best to described the increment thousand grain mass (dry basis) of rice from different branches within a panicle for all two varieties.AbstrakPenelitian yang dilakukan bertujuan mengembangkan model pengisian gabah dari tingkat malai yang berbeda, terkait dengan terjadinya peningkatan bobot gabah dalam bentuk basis kering dan bertambahnyawaktu pengisian gabah setelah anthesis (pembungaan). Penelitian ini mengembangkan model berdasarkan tiga fungsi pertumbuhan yaitu fungsi eksponensial, logistik dan fungsi Gompertz dalam pengisian gabah.Persamaan yang diperoleh memiliki parameter bobot gabah awal, bobot gabah akhir dan laju pengisian gabah relatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan data primer berat 1000 butir gabah dalam bentuk basis kering (bk) dari malai primer dan sekunder di kedua varietas Sintanur dan IPB-4S, dari hari ke-14 sampai hari ke-30 setelah pembungaan dengan interval waktu 4 hari. Pemilihan model dilakukan dengan uji kesesuaian menggunakan koefisien determinasi (R2), Root mean square error (RMSE) dan Aikake’s Information Criterion (AIC). Nilai R2, RMSE, AIC pada model Gompertz untuk masing-masing berat kering gabah dari malai primer dan sekunder secara berturut-turut adalah 0.999, 0.224, -9.949 dan 0.997, 0.353, -4.512 (varietas Sintanur), 1.000, 0.131, -16.376 dan 0.999, 0.266, -7.877 (varietas IPB-4S), sehingga dari nilai yang dihasilkan menunjukkan bahwa model Gompertz merupakan model yang terbaik untuk pengisianbobot 1000 butir gabah (bk) dari malai primer dan sekunder di kedua varietas Sintanur dan IPB-4S.

Abstract

Masyarakat desa Sugih Waras Kecamatan Rambang Muara Enim memiliki ketergantungan yang tinggi dari pendapatan hasil sadap karet, sehingga rumah tangga petani di desa Sugih Waras perlu mengusahakan sumber-sumber lain bagi peningkatan pendapatan untuk mencukupi kebutuhan keluarga. Perhatian masyarakat desa Sugih Waras khususnya dikalangan ibu-ibu rumah tangga keluarga petani karet cenderung ikut membantu suami menyadap karet di kebun, sementara pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan rumah masih relatif terbatas sehingga pengembangan berbagai inovasi yang terkait dengan lahan pekarangan rumah belum banyak berkembang. Serangkaian teknik budidaya tanaman pangan telah banyak dikembangkan, dengan kepemilikan luas lahan yang terbatas khususnya diperkarangan rumah maka teknik vertikultur dinilai sesuai untuk digunakan dalam rangka menyediakan komoditas pangan keluarga petani karet. Usaha budidaya tanaman pangan dengan teknik vertikultur dapat diterapkan dengan memanfaatkan lahan perkarangan yang terbatas di lingkungan rumah. Hasil panen dari budidaya tanaman pangan di perkarangan rumah dapat menjamin ketersediaan pangan secara murah di keluarga petani karet. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini, peserta secara umum memperlihatkan respon yang baik terhadap penerapan budidaya tanaman sayuran menggunakan teknik vertikultur sehingga terjadi pengembangan usaha keluarga petani karet.

Abstract

Briket merupakan salah satu produk yang memanfaatkan limbah daun dan batang dari tanaman nanas untuk menghasilkan sumber energi alternatif, ramah lingkungan dan terbarukan. Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui karakteristik dari briket berbahan daun dan batang dari tanaman nanas menggunakan perekat alami lateks serta mengetahui pengaruh penambahan perekat alami lateks terhadap kadar air, kadar abu, kadar zat yang hilang pada suhu 950 0C, nilai kalor dan laju pembakaran briket. Studi eksperimental menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap, dengan perlakuan bagian tanaman nanas (daun dan batang) dan tingkat persentase perekat alami lateks 4%, 8% dan 12%. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan Analisis of Variance (ANOVA) dan uji lanjut menggunakan Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan faktor bagian tanaman (daun dan batang) dan tingkat persentase perekat alami lateks berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter dalam penelitian. Nilai kadar air, abu, dan zat yang hilang pada suhu 950 0C untuk briket batang lebih tinggi dari briket daun, sedangkan nilai kalor dan laju pembakaran briket daun lebih tinggi dari briket batang untuk setiap persentase perekat lateks. Nilai kadar air, abu, dan kalor yang memenuhi kriteria standar mutu SNI 01-6235-2000 adalah briket daun dengan perekat lateks 4%, secara berturut-turut 3,52±0,14%, 14,35±0,06%, dan 5156±8,62 kalori/gram

Abstract

The utilization of pineapple leaf fiber (PALF) as textile fiber material will have a very important meaning that is in terms of utilization of agro-waste. Pineapple leaf fiber (PALF) has different characteristics due to pineapple leaf’s position. Utilization of PALF from base of the plant stem is more appropriate to be used as textile fiber material. PALF categorized as staple fiber (short fiber) which needs to have a connecting process. The connecting process is usually carried out by dead knotted.The research objective was to know the effect of the location of pineapple leaves and various adhesive materials to characteristics of pineapple fibers. The research was conducted on September 2018 until March 2019 at Department of Agricultural Technology Sriwijaya University and Center for Textiles in Bandung, West Java Province. The research used Factorial Completely Randomized Design (RALF) with two treatment factors of the pineapple fibers location in the stem consisting of three levels namely the upper part (A1), the middle (A2) and the bottom (A3) and the type of adhesive consisting of two levels, polyvinyl alcohol (B1) and polyester resin (B2). This research consisted three parameters of moisture content (%), tensile strength / bundle (gf), and tensile strength (gf). The result of this research showed that the difference of location of fibers in pineapple leaves affect the moisture content (%), tensile strength / bundle (gf), and tensile strength (gf). The combination of interaction location of pineapple fibers on leaves and the type of adhesive significantly affected the moisture content (%) of MC and MR, tensile strength / bundle (gf) of Fmax and Emax. The best treatment was found on the treatment combination of lower fiber treatment and polyester adhesive (A3B2), namely MC 3.18%, MR value in A3B2 treatment of 3.28%. The best treatment of tensile strength / bundle is in the A3B2 treatment of 1779.8 gf for the value of F max and the E max value found in the treatment A3B2 which is 4.79%.

Abstract

Masyarakat desa segamit di Sumatera Selatan memiliki profesi utama sebagai petani kopi. Perkuliahan di desa Segamit merupakan salah satu cara dalam memberikan pengalaman belajar kepada petani dalam mengidentifikasi potensi dan menangani masalah lokal dalam mengembangkan potensi lokal desa menuju perkebunan kopi organik. Tujuan dalam kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan, wawasan dan keterampilan petani kopi dalam memanfaatkan limbah lokal desa dalam pengelolaan perkebunan kopi organik. Metode kegiatan dilaksanakan secara penuh dilapangan dengan pendekatan pembelajaran tematik dan partisipatif andragogis. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa kelompok petani Serasan Serantau desa Segamit mampu menghasilkan pupuk organik dari limbah kulit kopi dan menerapkan secara berkelanjutan dalam pengelolaan perkebunan kopi organik.

Abstract

Non-bank financial institutions that can be used as a solution in dealing with the problem of limitedcapital owned by business actors in the agricultural sector and which are quite familiar in the life offarmers are cooperatives. One of the efforts to increase the development of cooperatives in a positivedirection is to improve the performance of cooperatives in the aspects of capital, productive assetquality, management, efficiency, liquidity, independence and growth, cooperative identity and shariaprinciples. The performance assessment of sharia cooperatives can be carried out through theapplication of the Regulation of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises of theRepublic of Indonesia Number: 07/Per/Dep/2016 concerning the Implementation of Sharia Savingsand Loans and Financing Business Activities by Cooperatives. Each aspect is given a weight andthen a score is obtained to determine the predicate of cooperatives ranging from very unhealthy tohealthy. This research was conducted at the Trans Mekar Sari Mandiri BMT Cooperative in theagricultural area of the Tanjung Lago sub-district which was also affected by the COVID-19pandemic, namely a decrease in remaining operating results and an increase in member non- performing loans. The research was conducted using survey methods and direct field interviews withrespondents. Sampling was carried out using a gradual sampling method (Multiple Sampling) with asample of 33 respondents. The data collected is in the form of RAT data for the 2021 financial year. The results of the study state that the performance assessment of the Trans Mekar Sari Mandiri BMTCooperative during the COVID-19 pandemic showed a fairly healthy predicate but there were stillmany shortcomings in aspects of the quality of productive assets and aspects of liquidity.

Abstract

Abstrak: Kerjasama antara Perguruan Tinggi dan Dunia Industri yang dipilih menjadi mitra Koperasi BMT Trans Mekar Sari. Sistem pertanian yang diterapkan dengan sistem tumpang gilir. Anggota koperasi tersebut dibentuk wirausaha koperasi yang dicetak sebagai inisiasi dari petani anggota sebanyak 50 orang. Produk yang dikembangkan oleh wirausaha koperasi yaitu sirup herbal rambut jagung yang menjadi usaha ekonomi kreatif dengan mengutamakan ide dan pengetahuan. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk membantu anggota koperasi yang dibentuk dalam wirausaha koperasi dalam mengatasi permasalahan limbah pertanian yaitu limbah tanaman jagung berupa rambut jagung menjadi minuman fungsional sirup herbal rambut jagung antioksidan. Tahapan kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan melalui dua kegiatan. Tahap pertama pelatihan dan demo produksi yaitu pengolahan rambut jagung menjadi sirup dan pelatihan syarat dalam pembuatan PIRT sedangkan yang kedua strategi perizinan produk sirup herbal rambut jagung untuk PIRT. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa adanya kegiatan tersebut memberikan keterampilan baru bagi UMKM Pempek Eka. Hal ini terlihat pada evaluasi pengetahuan sebelum dilakukan pelatihan yakni sebesar 25%, dan 85% setelah dilakukan pelatihan dan pendampingan. Selain itu, hasil kegiatan juga terlihat dari meningkatnya produksi sirup herbal rambut jagung sebesar 110% dari sebelum dilakukan pelatihan mengenai pelatihan dan demo produk serta perizinan produk. Keberlangsungan wirausaha koperasi diharapkan dapat menjadi salah satu nilai tambah dan pandapatan bagi koperasi. Abstract: Collaboration between Universities and the Industrial World which was chosen to be a partner of the BMT Trans Mekar Sari Cooperative. The farming system is implemented with a rotational overlapping system. Members of the cooperative formed cooperative entrepreneurs who were printed as an initiation from 50 member farmers. The product developed by the cooperative entrepreneur is corn silk herbal syrup which is a creative economic venture by prioritizing ideas and knowledge. This activity aims to help cooperative members formed in cooperative entrepreneurship in overcoming the problem of agricultural waste, namely corn crop waste in the form of corn hair into a functional drink of antioxidant corn hair herbal syrup. The stages of community service activities are carried out through two activities. The first stage was training and production demonstrations, namely processing corn silk into syrup and training on the requirements for making PIRT, while the second was the strategy for licensing corn silk herbal syrup products for PIRT. The results of the activity show that this activity provides new skills for UMKM Pempek Eka. This can be seen in the evaluation of knowledge before training, which is 25%, and 85% after training and mentoring. Apart from that, the results of the activities were also seen from the increase in production of corn silk herbal syrup by 110% from before the training on training and product demonstrations as well as product licensing. The sustainability of cooperative entrepreneurship is expected to become one of the added values and income for cooperatives.

Abstract

Abstrak: Perguruan Tinggi Universitas Sumatera Selatan dengan Dunia Usaha dan Industri (DUDI) yaitu Koperasi BMT Trans Mekar Sari Mandiri melalui kegiatan transfer teknologi tentang pembuatan baglog sekam padi sebagai media tanam jamur dalam kegiatan pengabdian. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini yaitu untuk memberdayakan masyarakat dengan pembuatan baglog sekam padi sehingga dapat meningkatkan pendapatan serta kesejahteraan masyarakat bagi wira usaha koperasi di Desa Mulia Sari Kecamatan Tanjung Lago Kabupaten Banyuasin Provinsi Sumatera Selatan. Metodenya meliputi Pemberian Materi tentang pembuatan baglog sekam padi; Diskusi tentang berbagai masalah dan solusinya; Simulasi dan evaluasi. Kegiatan Pengabdian ini dilakukan pada bulan Oktober 2022. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dengan melibatkan mahasiswa Universitas Sumatera Selatan sebagai fasilitator. Hasil evaluasi dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa pembuatan baglog sekam padi memberikan dampak positif bagi wira usaha koperasi. Wira Usaha Koperasi sangat respon terhadap kegiatan ini. Prospek pasar baglog jamur tiram masih mempunyai peluang yang cukup besar. Luaran dari kegiatan ini yaitu wira usaha koperasi telah mampu melakukan pembuatan baglog sekam padi. Selain itu juga dihasilkan buku referensi tentang pembuatan baglog sekam padi. Abstract: The University of South Sumatra University with the Business and Industry World (DUDI), namely the Trans Mekar Sari Mandiri BMT Cooperative through technology transfer activities regarding the manufacture of rice husk baglog as a mushroom growing medium in service activities. The purpose of this service is to empower the community by making rice husk baglogs so that they can increase income and community welfare for cooperative entrepreneurs in Mulia Sari Village, Tanjung Lago District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province. The methods include providing material on the manufacture of baglog of rice husks; Discussion of various problems and their solutions; Simulation and evaluation. This service activity was carried out in October 2022. The activity was carried out by involving students from the University of South Sumatra as facilitators. The results of the evaluation of this activity indicate that the manufacture of baglog of rice husks has a positive impact on cooperative entrepreneurs. Wira Usaha Koperasi is very responsive to this activity. The prospect of the oyster mushroom baglog market still has considerable opportunities. The output of this activity is that cooperative entrepreneurs have been able to make baglog of rice husks. In addition, a reference book on making baglog of rice husks was also produced.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the need for agricultural machinery to support a cropping index of 200 in swampy land. This research was conducted in August 2021 in Muara Abab Village, Rantau Bayur District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province. This study used a descriptive-tabular method, while collecting primary data using survey techniques and semi-structured interviews. Secondary data collection was obtained through a literature study conducted to collect data on institutions and policies supporting the development of agricultural tools and machinery. The data obtained was processed descriptively and analyzed to see farmers income and the data is presented in the form of tabulations. The results showed that the total income of lebak swamp farmers was IDR 8,963,625.00/ha/year. To support the activities of the index cropping 200, it is necessary to add additional agricultural equipment such as 5 units of 2-wheeled tractors, 1 unit of 4-wheeled tractors, 9 units of water pumps, 5 units of combine harvesters, 14 units of threshers and dryer as much as 2 units.
