Abstract

This research is motivated from one effort to maintain and preserve Hata Pangupa part of oral literature Mandailing, especially in Kotanopan Setia Kampong, Nagari Lansek Kadok, Kecamatan Rao Selatan  Kabupaten Pasaman. Discussion of this research is Hata Pangupa in the Upa - Upa the wedding ceremony. Some research results on Hata Pangupa at the wedding ceremony, namely: ( 1 ) the context of oral literature Hata Pangupa spoken in Kotanopan Setia Kampong, Nagari Lansek Kadok, Kecamatan Rao Selatan, Kabupaten Pasaman. Elements of the show, the speakers, ritual instruments, place and time of the narrative, atmosphere and management of the wedding ceremony, as well as the Upa - Upa wedding participants; (2 ) the form of a long poem in the form of text edits are accompanied by translations; (3) HataPangupa as along poem with the characteristics, namely: priority to the use of language rhythm, similar sound repetitive or have poetry, as well as repeat a picture with various similar parables, and (4) function Hata Pangupa in Kotanopan Setia Kampong, namely: didaktif function, aesthetic function, the function of moral, and religious functions, as well as teaching values contained in Hata Pangupa, namely: obedience to God, obedience to parents and customs regulations, settle down and get along in society, always doing good, going to work, having responsibilities, and likes to work together and helping each other.

Abstract

The phrase speech ban is believed to contain a ban if not complied with will be rewarded . Ban expression can be used to educate members of the public to know the manners of behaving . If only given a warning by regular expressions , they did not heed it . Ban any expression that is accompanied by rewards , then they will stick with it . Social functions contained in the prohibition of expression should be preserved because it is enrich with Minangkabau .This study aims to describe the expression of a ban on the social function Lansek Kadok Nagari , District of South Rao , Pasaman . Type of this research is descriptive qualitative research method . The theory used in this research is partly verbal folklore . Data collection is done by : ( 1 ) the situation of the environment and conditions of speakers , (2 ) conduct interviews and record phrases delivered ban speakers using an audio recorder , and ( 3 ) record the biodata speakers .Based on the research findings and discussion summarized as follows . Found 44 ban on public expression Lansek Kadok South Rao Pasaman . In the words of as many as 5 tesebut ban ban expression that has the social function of religion or belief emotion thickening , 21 idiom ban that has the social function of education of children and adolescents , and as many as 18 expressions ban which has a social function explanation acceptable reason some folk .

Abstract

The problems that will be tell in this research is the students ability in writing  persuasive paragraphs by using poster at class X in SMA Negeri 16 Padang. Based on the problems above, the purpose of this research is to know the students wryiting ability about persuasive paragraphs by using poster at class X in SMA Negeri 16 Padang.This kind of this research is quantitative research by using descriptive methods. The data were collected by using writing test persuasive paragraphs. The data analyzed consist of five levels based on a scale of 10. The population in this research was all of this students of class X SMA Negeri 16 Padang 2012-2013 year. The total of the population was 288, and the sample of this research was 36 people.After analysis, the research found that the student writing ability in write persuasive paragraphs by using media poster was as follows. First, based on the in indicators of the sentence contains an invitation, the qualification of the students was good with an value of 83,88 %. Second, based on the data indicator data and the fact, the qualification of the student was good with an value of 81.1 %. Third based on the this opinion indicators, the student the qualification of the student was good with an value of 92 %.

Abstract

The background of this research because the student’s ability in writing persuasive paragraph is lower. The goal of this research is to describe  the ability of the first year students in writing persuasive paragraph by using product advertisement media.The theoretical foundations which are used in this research,as follows : The definition of writing,  Kinds of paragraph and defenition of persuasive paragraph that according to Atmazaki. Kind of the research is the quantitative research by using descriptive method.The population in this research is the first year students of SMAN 9 Padang who had registered in academic 2012/2013. The sample of this research is the first year students of SMAN 9 Padang who choosed by random sampling and total sample are 39 students. The data of this research was score of students ability In writing persuasive paragraph at the first year students of SMAN 9 Padang by using product advertisement media. The goal of this research, as follow : First, the ability of the first year students at SMAN 9 Padang in writing persuasive paragraph by using product advertisement media for data indicator and fact that appropriate with media is more than Enough ( mean 71,15). Second, the ability of the first year students at SMAN 9 Padang in writing persuasive paragraph by using product advertisement media for persuade indicator is Good ( mean 76 ). Third, the ability of the first year students at SMAN 9 Padang in writing persuasive paragraph by using product advertisement media for logic sentence indicator is Very Good ( mean 85,25). Fourth, the ability of the first year students at SMAN 9 Padang in writing persuasive paragraph by using product advertisement media for validity sentence indicator is Enough ( mean 62,17). Based on the conclution from those four indicators we concluded that the ability of the first year students at SMAN 9 Padang in writing persuasive paragraph by using product advertisement media belong to more than Enough ( mean 73,55).

Abstract

The problem of this research was the students’ ability in writing tales by using listening and writing technique in class VII of SMP Negeri 27 Padang. This research was designed for describing the students’ ability in writing tales by using listening and writing technique in class VII of SMP Negeri 27 Padang. This was a quantitative research which used descriptive method. Based on the results of the research some conclusions were drawn. First, the students’ ability in writing tales by using listening and writing technique for the first indicator was more than adequate (72,3) in which their average score was in the range of 66-75%. Second, the students’ ability in writing tales by using listening and writing technique for the second indicator was very good(90,4) in which their average score was in the range of 86-95%. Third, the students’ ability in writing tales by using listening and writing technique for the third indicator was more than adequate (75,2) in which their average score was in the range of 66-75%. Fourth, the students’ ability in writing tales by using listening and writing technique for the fourth indicator was very good (91,4) in which their average score was in the range of 86-95%. Fifth, in the general, the average score of the students’ ability in writing tales by using listening and writing technique was good (82,3) in which their average score was in the range of  76-85%.

Abstract

                Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah permasalahan yang dihadapi siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Batang Kapas bahwa siswa kekurangan kosakata saat menulis sehingga sulit menyampaikan ide atau gagasan kedalam tulisan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hubungan penguasaan kosakata dengan keterampilan menulis karangan argumentasi siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Batang Kapas. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitiatif menggunakan metode deskriptif melalui pendekatan korelasional. Populasi penelitian ini siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Batang Kapas. Jumlah siswa sebanyak 303 tersebar di 9 kelas dikurangi 30 orang untuk diberikan tes uji coba. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan sample random sampling atau secara acak. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 31 orang (20% dari populasi per kelas). Dari hasil penelitian diketahui penguasaan kosakata siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Batang Kapas berada pada kualifikasi cukup nilai rata-rata 63,76 berada pada rentangan 55-65%. Keterampilan menulis karangan argumentasi siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Batang Kapas berada pada kualifikasi lebih dari cukup nilai rata-rata 67,90 berada pada rentangan 66-75%. Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada hubungan yang signifikan pada taraf 95% antara penguasaan kosakata dengan keterampilan menulis karangan argumentasi siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Batang Kapas karena terhitung yaitu 0,58 lebih besar dari tabel yaitu 0,367.

Abstract

Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah  majas yang terdiri dari majas perbandingan, majas pertentangan, majas pertautan, dan majas perulangan atau penegasan. Sumber data adalah duapuluh sembilan puisi siswa kelas VIII SMPN 3 Gunung Tuleh. penelitian ini dilakukan dengan langkah sebagai berikut: (1) membaca puisi siswa kelas VIII SMPN 3 Gunung Tuleh; (2) studi pustaka untuk mencari acuan, pedoman, atau referensi yang berkaitan dengan keperluan penelitian; (3) mengumpulkan data; (4) mengelompokkan data; (5) menganalisis data; (6) melakukan pengabsahan data; (7) menyimpulkan penelitian; dan (8) menulis laporan penelitian. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan penggunaan majas sebanyak 7 jenis majas. Majas tersebut yaitu majas asosiasi atau simile sebanyak 8 majas, majas metafora sebanyak 1 majas, majas personifikasi sebanyak 15 majas, majas alegori sebanyak 1 majas, majas hiperbola sebanyak 11 majas, majas klimaks sebanyak 3 majas, majas repetisi sebanyak 6 majas. Majas yang dominan dalam puisi siswa kelas VIII SMPN 3 Gunung Tuleh adalah majas personifikasi dan majas hiperbola.

Abstract

Hasil analisis data dan pembahasan mengenai kemampuan menulis paragraf persuasi siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Tigo Nagari pasaman dengan menggunakan media gambar, dari 4 indikator dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut. Pertama, kemampuan siswa menulis paragraf ditinjau dari indikator kalimat yang sesuai dengan media berada dalam kualifikasi  lebih dari cukup. Hal ini terlihat dari paragraf yang ditulis siswa dengan rata-rata 74,86% berada pada rentangan. Kedua, kemampuan siswa menulis paragraf ditinjau dari indikator  kalimat logis berada dalam kualifikasi lebih dari cukup. Hal ini terlihat dari paragraf yang ditulis siswa dengan rata-rata 74,95% berada pada rentangan. Ketiga, kemampuan siswa menulis paragraf ditinjau dari indikator kalimat ajakan berada dalam kualifikasi baik. Hal ini terlihat dari paragraf yang ditulis siswa dengan rata-rata 76,43%. Keempat, kemampuan siswa menulis paragraf ditinjau dari indikator kalimat data dan fakta berada dalam kualifikasi lebih dari cukup. Hal ini terlihat dari paragraf yang ditulis siswa dengan rata-rata 67,91% . Untuk gabungan keempat indikator kemampuan menulis paragraf persuasi siswa kelas X SMA 1 Tigo Nagari Pasaman tergolong baik, dengan rata-rata 76,73%.

Abstract

The National Examination in Indonesia, which began in 2015, was no longer a determinant of student graduation at the end of the education level. Utilization of the examination results will affect the seriousness of the students in working on it. This study aims to describe the level of seriousness of 12th grade students in working on National   Examinations, when it no longer a determinant of graduation by examining teachers and school principals’ point of view. This research is a qualitative study by using the phenomenology approach. Data was collected using focus group discussions (FGD) conducted 3 times in 3 provinces in Indonesia, consisted of Yogyakarta, South Kalimantan and East Nusa Tenggara. FGD participants were 9 high school principals, 9 vice principal of curriculum, and 54 teachers who teach subjects that are tested on national exam. In each province, three schools were selected, consisted of   two public schools, and one private school. Data were analyzed using data reduction stages, to find relationships between themes, and verification. The results showed that the motivation of 12th grade students in preparing National Examination were reduced.  They no longer focused on preparing the exams, otherwise they preparing themselves for higher education.  Furthermore, students tended to select subjects that were easier and the teacher should motivate students harder to prepare for the National Examination.
