Abstract

Environmental conditions caused by air pollution are so large that it impacts on changes in the ecosystem that affects all aspects of human life. Climate change is caused by increasing greenhouse gases in the earth's atmosphere because the Earth's atmosphere receives more carbon than it releases. This study aims to determine the potential of biomass and carbon uptake in mangrove stems in Pohorua village, Muna Regency. The research is quantitative descriptive, sampling using the Point Center Quarted Method (PCQM) technique measured around the height of the chest height mangrove tree (DBH). Data analysis was performed using an allometric equation in which each mangrove plant has a specific gravity. Carbon uptake found in mangroves stored in the roots, stems and leaves of mangrove plants, the results of the study showed that mangroves can absorb carbon quickly.

Abstract

Berbagai tindak kejahatan oleh para pemuda di Dusun Jiku Besar, Kampung Baru seperti pencurian, premanisme, berkelahi dengan teman, membolos sekolah, melihat atau menonton video dewasa, pemakaian obat-obatan terlarang., tawuran, penipuan, pencurian, serta alapan liar yang dilakukan per kelompok. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah memberikan edukasi GEPDANA (Gerakan Anti Narkoba) kepada pemuda di Kampung Baru, Dusun Jiku Besar, Desa Namlea. Metode yang digunakan dalam PKM ini adalah observasi langsung dengan pendekatan sosialisasi Edukasi GEPDANA di Kampung Baru, Dusun Jiku Besar, Desa Namlea. Jumlah peserta adalah 25 orang yang dilaksanakan selama tiga hari di Kampung Baru, Dusun Jiku Besar, Desa Namlea. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dalam lima tahap, yakni tahap define the problem, tahap analizing causes, tahap develop the plan, tahap implementation dan controlin, dan tahap evaluation. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa 1) Tahap Define the Problems. Terlihat adanya tindakan pencurian, perkelahian antarkelompok remaja, minum-minuman keras, penyalahgunaan narkotika, dan melakukan judi antarpemuda. 2) Tahap Analizing Causes. Beberapa gangguan yang dialami oleh masyarakat akibat dampak dari kenakalan para pemuda di Kampung Baru adalah merusak ketenteraman masyarakat, mengganggu ketertiban, mempengaruhi orang lain ke arah yang negatif, dan lain-lain. 3) Tahap Develop the Plan, yakni pemberian materi seperti Pengetahuan Dasar Narkoba, Pengasahan skill, Penguatan Kerohanian, dan Penguatan Budaya Lokal Pulau Buru. 4) Tahap Implementation dan Controling, yakni diharapkan para pemuda dapat menjadi manusia yang humanis dan bermanfaat di tengah-tengah masyarakat Kampung Baru. 5) Tahap evaluation, yakni adanya pendampingan dan pengontrolan kepada mitra sasaran (para pemuda di Kampung Baru).

Abstract

Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah menyosialisasikan gerakan masyarakat hidup sehat berbasis edukasi teori dan praktik kepada masyarakat Desa Grandeng. Metode yang digunakan berupa pendekatan sosialisasi berbasis edukasi teori dan praktik tentang gerakan masyarakat hidup sehat yang meliputi tiga tahapan, yakni tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan, dan tahap evaluasi. Sasaran pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah warga Desa Grandeng, Kecamatan Lolong Guba, Kabupaten Buru. Adapun hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini, yakni tahap persiapan, yaitu tim pengabdi melakukan observasi awal terhadap kondisi sosial masyarakat serta kondisi lingkungan masyarakat Desa Grandeng; tahap pelaksanaan, yakni tim pengabdi melakukan sosialisasi berbasis edukasi secara teori dan praktik terkait cara mencuci tangan yang baik dan benar, cara memakai masker dengan baik dan benar, pembersihan lingkungan masyarakat, serta pengadaan tempat cuci tangan di lingkungan masyarakat; tahap evaluasi, menekankan adanya tindak lanjut oleh tim pengabdi dan mitra dengan tetap melakukan pengontrolan agar masyarakat memiliki kesadaran secara total terhadap pentingnya menggiatkan pola hidup bersih dan sehat melalui gerakan masyarakat hidup sehat.

Abstract

Improving the learning system chosen by the Universitas Muhammadiyah Buton (UM Buton) in order to compete in the era of disruption with advances in information and communication technology (ICT), particularly electronic-based learning systems, one of which is known as the e-learning learning system. Several professors at UM Buton had difficulties in adding learning material in the form of text, and video, visualizing quiz results and semester examinations, and building forums for question-and-answer sessions while utilizing e-learning. Based on these issues, the service team developed training and mentoring for UM Buton lecturers. It is hoped that with this training, UM Buton will be able to produce quality lecturers and highly educated skilled professionals who can keep up with the times and ICT-based technology while carrying out Catur Dharma tasks and responsibilities as a lecturer at Muhammadiyah Higher Education.

Abstract

Southeast Sulawesi is one of the provinces that has the largest mining area in Indonesia. One of the main mining commodities is nickel, which has the largest natural resource potential of around 97.3 billion tons of nickel minerals. Mining has an important role in the development of a region because it produces industrial raw materials, a source of foreign exchange, employment and increases local revenue. On the other hand, mining can cause various threats or adverse impacts in the form of environmental damage and pollution. One of the areas experiencing adverse impacts from mining is Baliara Village, Bombana Regency. This study aims to determine the formulation of efforts to overcome and prevent seawater pollution by nickel waste using the green biochemistry approach. This research was conducted in April 2022 in Baliara Village, Bombana Regency using observation, interview and literature study approaches. The results showed that there are approaches that can be used to control or reduce nickel waste, namely using the flotation-filtration method, silica-modified tofu solid waste, utilization of mangrove vegetation as nickel heavy metal phytoremediation and the establishment of corporate social responsibility (CRS) by mining companies in controlling or monitoring environmental pollution. This approach is considered very effective in controlling pollution in the aquatic environment in Baliara Village, Bombana Regency, so that it can serve as scientific input and information for relevant parties in taking actions and policies in controlling pollution in the area

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Struktur Komunitas Echinodermata Di Kawasan Pesisir Pantai Lakorapu Kota Baubau. Waktu penelitian dilakukan selama 3 bulan mulai dari bulan November sampai dengan bulan Januari 2017. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survey. Pengumpulan data digunakan teknik purposive sampling dan dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Perhitungan yang digunakan dalam pengolahan data secara kuantitatif dengan menggunakan rumus Keanekaragaman Shanon-Winner, dominansi Simpson dan kelimpahan Darrell s. Vodopich yakni jumlah individu per satuan luas. Faktor lingkungan yang diukur yakni suhu, salinitas, dan pH. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pada kedua lokasi penelitian yakni di pantai Lakorapu Kota Baubau, Echinodermata yang ditemukan tediri dari 4 kelas yaitu Holothuroidea, Ophiuroidea, Echinoidea dan kelas Asteroidea. Indeks keanekaragaman Echinodermata yang terdapat pada kedua lokasi penelitian menunjukkan perbedaan dan apabila didasarkan pada nilai tolok ukur indeks keanekaragaman maka kedua lokasi berada dalam kategori keanekaragaman yang rendah (H < 1,0) yang berarti bahwa produktivitas sangat rendah sebagai indikasi adanya tekanan yang berat dan ekosistem tidak stabil. Nilai dominansi Echinodermata menunjukkan bahwa pada lokasi pantai Lakorapu belum ada yang mendominasi. Nilai kemelimpahan masing-masing kelas pada Echinodermata pada lokasi pantai terlihat masih sangat rendah. Hal tersebut disebabkan oleh aktivitas masyarakat yang sangat berlebihan.

Abstract

Red ginger (Zingiber officinale var. Rubrum) is a commonly used rhizome known for its fragrant and spicy taste. It contains gingerol and shogaol compounds that have antipyretic effects by inhibiting prostaglandin formation and stimulating the production of interleukin-10, an endogenous antipyretic. This study aimed to evaluate the potential of gingerol and shogaol compounds as antipyretic drug candidates through reverse docking techniques targeting interleukin-10 (IL-10). Ten natural compounds from red ginger were predicted for their potential as antipyretic drugs and docked with the IL-10 receptor protein using various computer programs. The molecular docking results showed that (6)-shogaol had four amino acid bond residues that were the same as the ibuprofen control compound, indicating its potential as an antipyretic drug candidate. Furthermore, (6)-shogaol had the same binding affinity as the control compound and was safe for oral consumption based on pharmacokinetic and toxicity tests using Lipinski's Rule, Toxtree, and admet-T. These findings suggest that (6)-shogaol is a promising antipyretic drug candidate compared to other compounds. In conclusion, this study identified the potential of (6)-shogaol as an antipyretic drug candidate through reverse docking techniques targeting interleukin-10. Red ginger could provide a natural alternative for antipyretic drugs, and further research is recommended to explore the role of gingerol and shogaol compounds in targeting other proteins

Abstract

ABSTRAK                                                                                     Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah untuk membantu mahasiswa memanfaatkan program Mendeley untuk secara otomatis menghasilkan kutipan dan daftar pustaka saat menulis karya ilmiah. Sebab, salah satu tanda karya tulis berkualitas tinggi adalah tidak adanya plagiarisme, yang sering muncul karena kurangnya informasi seseorang tentang strategi mengutip atau bagaimana melakukan kutipan. Oleh karena itu, mahasiswa khususnya harus dipersiapkan dengan informasi mengenai sitasi yang tepat agar dapat menghasilkan karya ilmiah yang berkualitas untuk dipublikasikan di jurnal nasional/internasional. Beberapa aplikasi yang dapat diakses, seperti Mendeley, Endnote, dan Zootero, dapat digunakan untuk mengelola referensi yang berasal dari buku atau jurnal. Ketersediaan alat penulisan kutipan seperti Mendeley memungkinkan penulis untuk menangani bahan referensi mereka. Berdasarkan temuan pelaksanaan kegiatan, terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan dan kemampuan peserta tentang Aplikasi Mendeley sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan. Namun, beberapa peserta belum bisa menangani instalasi aplikasi di laptop dan MS Word, serta memanfaatkan alat Mendeley untuk menyusun daftar pustaka, sehingga mereka harus terus didukung dan diarahkan bahkan setelah pelatihan selesai. Kata kunci: Pelatihan Sitasi; Software Mendeley; Daftar Pustak; Karya Tulis Ilmiah. ABSTRACTThe purpose of this service is to help students take advantage of the Mendeley program to automatically generate citations and bibliography when writing scientific papers. Because, one sign of high-quality writing is the absence of plagiarism, which often arises due to a person's lack of information about citing strategies or how to quote. Therefore, students, in particular, must be prepared with information on appropriate citations in order to produce quality scientific works to be published in national/international journals. Several accessible applications, such as Mendeley, Endnote, and Zotero, can be used to manage references from books or journals. The availability of citation writing tools such as Mendeley allows authors to handle their reference material. Based on the findings of the activity implementation, there was an increase in participants' knowledge and abilities about the Mendeley Application before and after the training. However, some of the participants were not able to handle the installation of applications on laptops and MS Word and used Mendeley's tools to compile a bibliography, so they had to continue to be supported and directed even after the training was over.  Keywords: Citation Training; Mendeley Software; Bibliography; Scientific papers.
