Abstract

This research aims to analyze the kinds of error morphology in English speeches of American President and knowed the persentage of morphological errors in English Speeches of American President. As for the kinds of error morphology in English speeches of American President, the kinds are free morpheme, bound morpheme, affixes (prefix, suffix, and compound). This research design used is qualitative research. Qualitative research among others are descriptive, the data collected more in the form of words or pictures rather than numbers, The researcher chose qualitative case study research in descriptive qualitative because the data of this study described seeing the actual reality in the form of spoken language, and analyzed and interpreted with the objective to then described in the form of words and language. Qualitative descriptive method is a method that researchers can use to analyze by doing fact-finding with the right interpretation. Qualitative research is closely associated with the context. The result of this research showed that are in English Speeches of American President still found error morphology even thought they are narrative speakers. They made afix, prefix, suffix errors. Besides that, some of the president also made errors in free morpheme, bound morpheme, and compound.The researcher was founded 16 errors totally. In the case it consist of 18,75% errors in free morpheme 56,25% errors in bound morpheme, 25% in affixes there are 12,50% error in prefix, 6,25% errors in suffix , and 6,25% error in compound. Meanwhile, the dominant error in English Speeches of American President is bound morpheme which reaches 56,25 % from 16 or 100%.

Abstract

The aims of this article is to describe that total immersion program in teaching English can improve students speaking ability. This article is made from research result which used pre- test and post-test design. The population of the article is the ninth grade of SMP Negeri 3 Panca Rijang there are two classes. The writer applied random technique that took one of the two class and sample of this article was IX.2 class with 20 students. The instrument of this article was speaking test which would be administred in pre-test and post-test. The pre-test would be used to find the prior knowledge of speaking ability, while post-test would be used to find speaking ability achievement after treatment is given. The result of this article showed that total immersion program was effective to improve speaking ability at the ninth grade of SMP Negeri 3 Panca Rijang especially IX.2 class. It could be proved from their mean score in post-test (56.95) was higher than their mean score in pre-test (48.50), and the t-test value (10.934) was greater than t-table (a = 0.05; df= 9; t table = 2.262, this means that H1 was accepted.

Abstract

The aim of of this research to determine the independen learning problems of odd semester students at Muhammadiyah Sidenreng Rappang University. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods as research methodology. This research was conducted to determine students' autodidactic learning problems. The population in this research were 24 Muhammadiyah Sidenreng Rappang University students from semester 1. The data collection methods used in this research were questionnaires and interviews. The research results show that students' autodidactic learning problems have a big impact on the way they learn when they learn on their own. Autodidactic student learning problems can be caused by several things, namely, not being able to learn on their own, lack of understanding, fear of making mistakes, lack of guidance and lack of learning motivation to learn autodidactically.
