Abstract

ABSTRAKLimbah bersumber dari berbagai aktivitas manusia diantaranya aktivitas rumah tangga, industri, perdagangan, pertanian, perkantoran, dan sisa pembangunan. Namun aktivitas yang paling banyak menyumbang limbah adalah aktivitas rumah tangga. Pengelolaan limbah rumah tangga di desa masih dilakukan secara tradisional yaitu melalui penimbunan pada lahan kosong. Umumnya masyarakat desa menggunakan cara pembakaran untuk mengatasi penumpukan limbah tersebut. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk menambah pengetahuan dan menumbuhkan kesadaran masyarakat untuk menjaga kelestarian lingkungan melalui pengelolaan limbah rumah tangga secara mandiri. Penyuluhan pengelolaan limbah rumah tangga di desa Kaliploso melibatkan 30 peserta. Penyajian materi diawali dengan memberikan stimulus terkait pengetahuan peserta terhadap limbah rumah tangga dan jenis-jenisnya, kemudian dilanjutkan penyajian materi dengan metode ceramah. Diskusi yang dilakukan setelah penyajian materi diikuti peserta dengan antusias dan menghasilkan ide baru tentang pengelolaan limbah rumah tangga secara mandiri. Hasil kegiatan ini meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat dengan tingkat pemahaman 100% (30 peserta) dan menumbuhkan kesadaran masyarakat yang dibuktikan dengan munculnya ide percontohan pelaksana pengelolaan limbah rumah tangga jenis anorganik sebanyak 43,33% (13 peserta). Kata kunci: pengelolaan; limbah rumah tangga; desa Kaliploso ABSTRACTWaste comes from human activities such as household activities, industries, commerce, agriculture, offices, and residual of construction. The discussion was attended by participants enthusiastically and it produced new ideas about self-management of household waste. Abstract

ABSTRAKCOVID-19 merupakan jenis virus yang dapat menyebar secara masif dan ditetapkan sebagai pandemi global. Adanya pandemi ini telah mengubah tata cara kehidupan manusia di hampir seluruh Negara. Kebiasaan menjaga protokol kesehatan dan menerapkan pola hidup bersih dan sehat perlu dilakukan oleh seluruh kalangan masyarakat. Selanjutnya, salah satu upaya Pemerintah Indonesia dalam memutus rantai COVID-19 dengan vaksinasi, namun hingga saat ini jumlah kasus aktif masih terus bertambah. Hal ini tentunya menjadi tujuan utama dari program ini untuk terus mengedukasi masyarakat dan melakukan sosialisasi akan pentingnya menjaga, perilaku hidup sehat. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Kaliploso kecamatan Cluring Kabupaten Banyuwangi. Adapun kegiatan ini dilakukan beberapa tahap diantaranya tahap persiapan dan pembekalan, dilanjutkan dengan praktik langsung di Balai Desa Kaliploso. Hasil pelaksanaannya adalah masyarakat setempat diberikan edukasi dan dilatih untuk membuat hand sanitizer sesuai dengan formula World Health Organization (WHO). Kegiatan ini merupakan salah satu implementasi upaya pola hidup sehat dan bersih guna mencegah penyebaran COVID-19. Selain itu, kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi keterampilan masyarakat Desa Kaliploso untuk membuat hand sanitizer secara mandiri. Kata kunci: COVID-19; Desa Kaliploso; Banyuwangi; hand sanitizer. ABSTRACTCOVID-19 is a type of virus that can spread through massively and is declared a global pandemic. The existence of this pandemic has changed the way of human life in almost all countries. The habit of maintaining health protocols and implementing a clean and healthy lifestyles need to be carried out by all levels of society. Furthermore, one of the efforts from Indonesian government in breaking the chain of COVID-19 transmission is by vaccination, but until now the number of active cases is increasing. This is certainly the main goal from this program to continue educating the public and socializing the importance of healthy living behavior. This service activity was carried out in Kaliploso Village, Cluring Sub-district, Banyuwangi Regency. This activity was done by several stages including the preparation and debriefing stage, followed by direct practice at the Kaliploso’s Village Hall. The results of implementation are local people that are given of education and trained to make hand sanitizers according to the World Health Organization (WHO). This activity is one of the implementations of a healthy and clean lifestyles to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Abstract

Initially, zeolite catalysts cannot be used for reactions involving hot liquid water, so it is necessary to modify the zeolite to be stable under these conditions. The synthesis of HY and hydrophobic zeolites aimed to determine the stability of zeolite in hot liquid water (HLW). The stability of zeolite in HLW is related to zeolite hydrophobicity. In this study, the main raw materials for the synthesis of HY zeolite were sodium aluminate (NaAlO2) and Ludox HS-40 by calcining the product at 350 oC for 1 hour. Furthermore, increasing the hydrophobicity of HY zeolite was carried out by modifying the external zeolite surface using organosilanes (aminopropyltriethoxysilane). The stability of two zeolites in HLW was set at 200 oC. Zeolite analysis used physical test and Fourier Transform-Infra Red (FTIR) Spectrometer. The results of the zeolite distribution in two phases confirmed that HY zeolite was completely dispersed in the water phase, while the zeolite one was dispersed in the organic phase. Moreover, the IR spectra of HY zeolite showed that the wide peak detection at wave number 720 cm-1 for beginning to disappear. This means that the HLW condition could be damaged to the d6r unit. Another result was shown by hydrophobic zeolite spectra with a stable peak for 72 hours. This indicates that the hydrophobic zeolite has thermal stability in HLW so that it can be used in chemical reaction catalytic applications that use on phase.

Abstract

Capsicum Frutescens L. memiliki senyawa aktif berupa rasa pedas yang disebut capsaicin. Senyawa ini telah banyak dimanfaatkan di berbagai sektor industri dan farmasi. Proses pengambilan senyawa melalui ekstraksi dengan microwave-assisted soxhlet extraction (MASE). Pada penelitian ini menggunakan parameter siklus ekstraksi (2, 6, 10 siklus), daya microwave (300, 450, 600 W) dan massa cabai rawit (20, 60, 100 g). Parameter tersebut didesain berdasarkan optimasi response surface methodology (RSM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa yield ekstraksi tertinggi pada kondisi 6 siklus, 400 W, dan 20 g sebesar 7,7285. Kemudian model optimasi menunjukkan 6,33 siklus, 405,33 W dan 20,46 g sebagai yield tertinggi dengan hasil 7,7708. Kedua hasil tersebut menyatakan bahwa persentase kesalahan antara data penelitian dengan model optimasi yaitu <0,05%. Selanjutnya, analisis varian (ANOVA) memberikan respon signifikan berdasarkan p-value <0,01%. Respon ini mengindikasikan bahwa parameter-parameter yang telah didesain oleh RSM dapat digunakan sebagai model untuk mengetahui titik-titik optimum dan yield tertinggi. Selain itu, hasil ekstrak dilakukan analisis menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-VIS dan SEM energy dispersive x-ray (EDX) untuk mengetahui panjang gelombang dan morfologi capsaicin.

Abstract

ABSTRAKSampah dari limbah rumah tangga masih menjadi issue sampai sekarang ini, salah satunya yaitu nasi basi yang sudah berbau, dan berjamur. Nasi sisa yang menjadi basi sering dibuang begitu saja oleh masyarakat. Oleh karena itu perlulah memanfatkannya salah satunya menjadi pupuk bio organik dengan membuatnya menjadi MOL (Mikroorganisme Lokal) yang mengandung sebagian dari nutrisi-nutrisi penting yang dibutuhkan oleh tanaman yaitu nitrogen, fosfor, besi, dan kalsium, sehingga pupuk bio organik dapat digunakan sebagai pengganti pupuk kimia buatan. Pupuk bio organik memiliki keuntungan yaitu mudah diaplikasikan, unsur hara yang terdapat dalam pupuk ini mudah diserap oleh tanaman, dan mengandung mikroorganisme yang tidak ditemukan di pupuk kompos. Pembuatan pupuk bio organik yang sangat mudah dan alat yang dipakai sederhana ini diperkenalkan kepada masyarakat di Desa Kaliploso Banyuwangi dalam bentuk penyuluhan. Pencapaiannya masyarakat mendapatkan peningkatan pengetahuan dalam pengelolaan nasi basi terlihat dalam hasil kuisioner yang disebar sebanyak 20 peserta dengan capain 95%  menjawab sangat antusias dalam menerima ilmu baru terkait pembuatan pupuk bio organik. kata kunci: sampah; nasi basi; mol; pupuk bioorganik ABSTRACTStale rice is a household waste problem, so it needs processing. One process that utilizes stale rice is bio-organic fertilizer by making it into MOL (Local Microorganisms), which contains some of the essential nutrients required by plants, such as Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Iron, and Calcium. Bio-organic fertilizers can be used as a substitute for synthetic chemical fertilizers, which are expensive and complained about by farmers or the public, and they can be an alternative. This fertilizer has the advantage that it is easy to apply, the nutrients contained in the fertilizer are easily absorbed by plants, and it contains microorganisms that are not found in compost. Making this fertilizer is very easy and the tools used are very simple. The achievement of the community getting an increase in knowledge in managing stale rice was seen in the questionnaire distributed to as many as 20 participants who answered enthusiastically in receiving new knowledge related to making bioorganic fertilizers. Keywords: stale rice; mol; bio-organic fertilizer .

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat di Desa Bagorejo bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan potensi kulit bawang merah sebagai bahan baku pestisida nabati. Hal ini berkaitan dengan masyarakat Bagorejo yang mata pencaharian utamanya adalah petani. Namun, petani cenderung masih menggunakan pestisida kimia untuk membasmi hama. Sehingga pembuatan pestisida nabati merupakan jawaban untuk meminimalisir penggunaan pestisida kimia mengingat dampak penggunaan pestisida kimia yang cukup berbahaya bagi kesehatan manusia dan lingkungan. Harga pestisida kimia yang meningkat setiap tahunnya juga menjadi alasan untuk mendukung penggunaan pestisida nabati. Perkembangan pemanfaatan kulit bawang merah masih sangat minim, hal ini terjadi karena kurangnya kesadaran dan pengetahuan masyarakat akan potensinya. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, kami berinisiatif untuk memberikan solusi melalui sosialisasi dan praktek. Kegiatan diawali dengan sosialisasi potensi kulit bawang merah, pelatihan pembuatan pestisida nabati dari kulit bawang merah, serta evaluasi kegiatan. Hasil dari pengabdian ini yaitu masyarakat dapat memperoleh pengetahuan tambahan tentang potensi kulit bawang merah, dan manfaatnya selain sebagai limbah serta dapat mengolah kulit bawang merah sebagai pestisida nabati. Community service in Bagorejo Village aims to optimize the potential of red onion skin as a raw material for botanical pesticides. It relates to the Bagorejo community, where the main livelihood is farmers. However, farmers tend to still use chemical pesticides to eradicate pests. So that the manufacture of botanical pesticides is the answer to minimize the use of chemical pesticides, considering the impact of the use of chemical pesticides which are quite dangerous for human health and the environment. The price of chemical pesticides which has increased every year is also a reason to support the use of botanical pesticides. The development of red onion skin utilization is still very minimal, it occurs due to a lack of public awareness and knowledge about its potential. Based on these problems, we took the initiative to provide a solution through outreach and practice. The activity began with socializing the potential of red onion skin, training on processing red onion skin into botanical pesticides and evaluating the activities. The result of this service is the community gained a significant increase in knowledge related the knowledge of the potential of red onion skin, and apart from being a waste, it can also process red onion skin as a botanical pesticide.

Abstract

Kombucha adalah salah satu minuman probiotik dari teh yang difermentasi. Kombucha berperan penting sebagai antioksidan, antikanker, dan antidiabetes. Kombucha dapat memperbaiki sistem pencernaan, menurunkan kadar gula darah dan kolesterol, meningkatkan daya tahan tubuh dan energi, mengurangi nyeri sendi, serta menurunkan berat badan. Berdasarkan hasil survei, masyarakat di Desa Bagorejo yang sebagian besar bermata pencaharian sebagai petani masih memiliki kesadaran yang kurang akan pentingnya menjaga kesehatan di masa pandemi. Padahal berbagai tumbuhan herbal seperti serai, jahe, kunyit, dan temulawak tumbuh liar dan subur di sana. Untuk mencegah penyebaran COVID-19 diperlukan pola hidup sehat, salah satunya dengan rutin mengonsumsi minuman probiotik seperti teh kombucha. Oleh karena itu, melalui program pengabdian kepada masyarakat dengan membuat teh kombucha dengan tambahan rasa dari tanaman herbal, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesaaran masyarakat tentang pentingnya pola hidup sehat dan menjaga kesehatan di masa pandemi. Program ini dilaksanakan dengan metode pelatihan yang melibatkan ibu-ibu PKK. Tahapan program ini adalah observasi dan koordinasi, penyiapan tester, sosialisasi, pelatihan, evaluasi, dan pendampingan kegiatan. Hasil dari program ini adalah bertambahnya wawasan dan motivasi baru bagi masyarakat untuk tetap sehat dan produktif di masa pandemi. Kombucha tea is one of the probiotic beverages derived from fermented tea. Kombucha tea plays significant roles as an antioxidant, anticancer, and antidiabetic. Besides that, kombucha tea can improve the digestive system, lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels, boost the immune and energy, reduce joint pain, and lose weight. Based on the survey, the local community in Bagorejo Village, Banyuwangi, mostly works as farmers. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, health awareness in the community is still lacking. On the other hand, various herbal plants such as lemongrass, ginger, turmeric, and curcuma grow wild and thrive there. To prevent the worsening spread of COVID-19, an adaptation to a healthy lifestyle is necessary, for example by routinely consuming probiotic beverages like kombucha tea. Therefore, through the community service program by making kombucha tea with flavor addition from herbal plants, they are expected to understand health awareness better and begin a healthier life. This program was conducted using training method involving PKK women. The steps of this program are observation and coordination, sample preparation, socialization, production, evaluation, and activity assistance. The results of this program are new insights and motivation for the community to maintain the health and productive during pandemic.

Abstract

Cadmium (II) halides with N,N'-diethylthiourea (detu) ligands at a stoichiometry of 1: 2 tend to form molecular complexes [Cd(detu)2X2] with a distorted tetrahedral geometry at the central atom. Generally, these complex compounds are prepared by the conventional method of reflux for 4 hour. The use of ultrasonic waves for complex synthesis can be an alternative to make the reaction time more efficient and environmentally friendly. The aim of this study was to synthesize and characterize complex compounds from CdBr2 and detu ligands using the ultrasonication method that have not previously reported. The synthesis of complex compounds was carried out by reacting CdBr2 and detu (1:2) in methanol solvent. In the synthesized compounds, a melting point test, electrical conductivity test, Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), Scanning Electron Microscope-Energy Dispersive Xray (SEM-EDX), qualitative test of bromide ion and calculation of free energy using Spartan'14 software were carried out for the complex structure prediction. The complex compound resulted has colorless needle crystals with a melting point of 93-94°C. The results of the EDX analysis provide the empirical formula C10H24CdBr2N4S2. The electrical conductivity test data and the bromide ion qualitative test proved that the synthesized complex compound was a molecular complex compound with the molecular formula [Cd(detu)2Br2]. The complex compound has two possible structures, namely a distorted tetrahedral and a square planar. Free energy calculations showed that complex compounds with a distorted tetrahedral structure and a square  planar have free energies of -527.5574 kJ/mol and -408.7424 kJ/mol, respectively.

Abstract

The community service program carried out in Kaliploso Village, Cluring District, Banyuwangi Regency is a sharing of knowledge from chemical engineering lecturers and students to the community. The aim of implementing this program is to increase the creativity of the Kaliploso community by using lamtoro seeds as an alternative to soybeans as the basic ingredient for making soy sauce with the addition of special spices. The program implementation method begins with outreach, training in making soy sauce, fostering independent production, to monitoring, and evaluation. First, socialization to the community regarding the natural potential in Kaliploso village, especially on the nutritional content of lamtoro seeds, secondly, training on making lamtoro soy sauce is explained in detail regarding the composition, tools used, and the stages of the soy sauce making process, thirdly, assistance and encouragement for independent production to participants who have formed 4 groups to make lamtoro soy sauce at home, the last stage is monitoring and evaluation carried out to measure the level of success of the program for utilizing the natural potential and community empowerment through training in making lamtoro soy sauce. The impact of the program that has been carried out can ignite the community to be more productive, create products that can add economic value and promote prosperity in Kaliploso village, and the soy sauce product "Cap Roso" which is produced as a product the hallmark of  Kaliploso village for more known by outsiders.
