Abstract

This study is the first stage of a longitudinal study on teacher professional development, particularly in writing scientific papers. From the researchers’ experience as trainers in teacher development program, it was found that most teachers found it difficult to write scientific writings. Hence, this study was attempted to investigate series of observations was done to analyze teachers’ difficulties in making academic writing, with questionnaires as the data collection instrument. Conducted in 2014, 44 respondents–7 male and 37 female teachers from Bandung and Cimahi–were given questionnaires and 42 respondents submitted the questionnaires back. From the questionnaires it was found that teachers’ knowledge in writing academic writing was 20.7%, teachers’ attitude towards academic writing was 15.5%, teachers’ motivation in making academic writing was 15.5%, teachers’ motivation in joining academic writing training was 56%, and teachers’ skill in writing academic paper was 7.8%. From the data, the researchers tried to collect further data on teachers’ relatively low knowledge, attitude and skills in academic writings in order to make training model to improve those aspects. The data served as the basis for conducting further research employing research and development (R & D) methods on making a teacher training model focusing in academic writing for teachers in Bandung and Cimahi that have already been in colom for six years as an attempt to sustainably develop teachers’ professional competence.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan media pembelajaran MIVI dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada topik sistem gerak manusia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Metode Experiment dengan menggunakan rancangan penelitian Pre-Experimental Design dengan desain penelitian One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Subjek dari penelitian ini ditentukan dengan teknik purpossive sampling yaitu siswa kelas XI MIA-7 di SMA Negeri 20 Bandung pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2017-2018. Hasil penelitian pada aspek kognitif didapatkan skor rata-rata Pretest sebesar 42,70 dan skor rata-rata Posttest sebesar 82,46 serta dari hasil uji N-Gain didapatkan skor sebesar 0,69 dengan kategori sedang. Kemudian, hasil penelitian pada aspek afektif mendapatkan skor rata-rata sebesar 85 dengan kategori baik dan aspek psikomotor mendapatkan skor rata-rata sebesar 86 dengan kategori sangat baik. Sedangkan, hasil angket dari keseluruhan siswa didapatkan respon positif sebesar 79% dengan kategori hampir seluruhnya. Dari data hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran MIVI dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada topik sistem gerak manusia. The use of MIVI (Media Interaktif Visual) learning media to increase the students’ learning outcomes in the human mechanical system topic. The aim of this research is to explore the use of MIVI learning media in the increasing of students’ learning outcomes in the human mechanical system topic. This research uses Pre-Experiment Design method with using research design of One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The subjects in this research are determined by purposive sampling technic; they are students of XI MIA-7 SMA Negeri 20 Bandung in the 2017-2018 school year. The result of this research shows that in the cognitive aspect get the average point Pretest is 42,70 and Posttest is 82,46 and then the test result of N-Gain is 42,70 as medium category. Thus, the result of this research in affective aspect gets 85 point in average as well category and psychomotor gets 86 in average as very well category. Whereas, from all the students’ questionnaire get positive result that is 79% with all categories. From all those data of this research conclude that the use of MIVI learning media can increase the students’ learning outcomes in the human mechanical system topic.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilakukan berkaitan dengan sikap terhadap kesehatan seperti pengetahuan tentang mikrobiologi yang membahas tentang kehidupan mikroorganisme. Dalam pokok bahasan virus, bakteri, jamur, alga dan protozoa mahasiswa diperkenalkan tentang berbagai bentuk, sifat, klasifikasi, dan peranannya dalam kehidupan manusia. Aspek kognitif ini mempunyai hubungan yang erat dengan kesehatan, karena mikroorganisme yang merupakan penyebab timbulnya penyakit, baik pada manusia, hewan maupun tumbuhan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei dengan analisis korelasional, dengan mengumpulkan data mengenai sikap terhadap kesehatan melalui tes sikap atau skala sikap. Pengetahuan tentang mikrobiologi diperoleh melalui pre tes. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan September sampai dengan bulan Nopember 2011, dan dilakukan di kampus Unpas Bandung. Populasi yang diambil dari sejumlah mahasiswa yang telah mengikuti perkuliahan mikrobiologi angkatan 2009 sebanyak 150 orang. Sampel yang diambil sebanyak 40 orang. Variabel penelitian ini terdiri dari satu variabel bebas (X) yaitu pengetahuan tentang mikrobiologi, dan satu variabel terikat (Y) sikap mahasiswa terhadap kesehatan. Hasil yang diperoleh terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara dimensi kognisi, afektif dan psikomotor sebesar 0,6.ABSTRACTThe research was conducted on health-related attitudes such as knowledge of microbiology which deals with the life of microorganisms. In the subject of viruses, bacteria, fungi, algae and protozoa introduced students about various forms, properties, classification, and its role in human life. The cognitive aspect has close links with health, because microorganisms are the cause of disease, both in humans, animals and plants. The method used in this study is a survey method with correlation analysis, by collecting data on attitudes towards health through posture or attitude scale tests. Knowledge of microbiology obtained through pre-test. This study was conducted in September through November 2011, and performed on campus Unpas Bandung. Population drawn from a number of students who have attended lectures microbiology class of 2009 as many as 150 people. Samples taken as many as 40 people. The variables of this study consists of one independent variable (X) is the knowledge of microbiology, and the dependent variable (Y) student attitudes towards health. The results obtained are significant relationships between the dimensions of cognition, affective and psychomotor of 0.6.

Abstract

Alternaria sp. is one the causess of diseases that attack citrus crops. Pest and diseases control efforts by farmers more often use pesticide synthesis. This study aims to determine the inhibition of mushroom growth and other benefits of galangal extract as a natural fungicide and determine the optimum concentration of galangan extract inhibiting the growth mushroom of Alternaria sp.. The method used was experimental, testing conducted by growing mycelium mushroom Alternaria sp. on a PDA that has been mixed with extract of galangal in according to the respective concentrations and analyze growth response by measuring the diameter. The best results indicated by the treatments 60% that control the growth of mushrooms with deaths amounted to 79%. This shown that galangal extract is able to control the growth of Alternaria sp. at concentrations 60% compared to a concentration of 20%, 30%, 40% and 50% because the active compounds at concentrations that are 60% higher, so galangal extract diffuse into the cell the growing of mushrooms and may cause disruption the growth mushrooms Alternaria sp.. The higher concentration of extract given, the ability to controlling the growth mushroom of Alternaria sp. the better. The utilization of galangal material is done as an alternative fungicide in the control of plant diseases that are eco friendly.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dengan penggunaan model pembelajaran Teams Games Tournament (TGT) dalam permainan hompimpa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Metode Quasi Experiment dengan menggunakan rancangan penelitian Pre-Experimental Design dengan desain penelitian Non Equivalent Control Group Design.  Subjek penelitian adalah kelas eksperimen dan kontrol dengan jumlah total sampel sebanyak 65 siswa salah satu sekolah menengah swasta di kota Bandung pada tahun ajaran 2017-2018. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu berupa data utama untuk mengukur ranah kognitif siswa sebanyak 25 soal pilihan ganda yang disesuaikan dengan indikator pembelajaran sesuai level kognitif siswa. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan nilai rata-rata pretest sebesar 43,43 dan rata-rata  posttest sebesar 85,49 pada kelas eksperimen, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol yaitu didapatkan nilai rata-rata pretest sebesar 51,07 dan rata-rata posttest sebesar 57,47. Ranah afektif yaitu penilaian minat siswa tehadap hasil belajar pada Biologi konsep sel. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data penelitian siswa memiliki respon positif terhada pembelajaran Teams Games Tournament (TGT) yang berimplikasi terhdap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa yang cukup baik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini tentang pengembangan program pembelajaran biologi dengan "MIVI" (Monopolies Multi Interactive Visual" untuk siswa tuna rungu dengan tujuan meningkatkan hasil belajar mereka. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan pendidikan. Data kuantitatif digunakan untuk melihat perubahan penguasaan konsep biologi yang dilihat dari perbedaan nilai pretes dan postes pada tiga siswa tuna rungu. Data diperoleh dengan metode SSR (Single Subject Research) dan dianalisis menggunakan analisis data visual berdasarkan kondisi awal (A) dan intervensi (B) dan melihat hubungan antara variabel bebas dan variabel terikat. Data kualitatif diperoleh dengan kuisioner, observasi, dan jurnal peneliti. Kuesioner digunakan untuk mempelajari lebih dalam dan didukung dengan wawancara dengan kepala sekolah untuk mengetahui ketahanan dan pendapat untuk keputusan hasil belajar subjek penelitian.Kata kunci: program pembelajaran biologi, tuna rungu

Abstract

The research is a part of a three-year research; it was the implementation stage of the complete research. It employed Educational Research and Development (R&D) design, which was modified in several features. The main objective of the research was to produce a comprehensive student worksheet which focuses on scientific project referring to the implementation of Curriculum 2013. The instruments used in the research were cognitive skill test, scientific attitude scale, observation sheet and interview. The implementation stage of the research utilized inquiry-based worksheet that was integrated with Animal Physiology subject, problem-based-learning (PBL) worksheet which was associated with Animal Ecology course, and project-based learning (PjBL) worksheet which was merged with Biotechnology subject. The research involved 60 students of Biology Education Department of Unpas from academic year 2013-2014. 30 of them were the control group and the rests were experimental group. The research shows that there is a difference in terms of students’ cognitive skill of the two groups. The cognitive skill of students in control group has an average of 2,47 (fair) and that of the experimental group is 3,56 (very good). The analysis on scientific attitude scale also shows a difference in terms of students’ affective skill: the control group’s average on this aspect is 2,70 and experiment group’s is 3,56 (very good). Assessment on students’ psycho-motor skill also presents similar trend as the control group’s average is 2,67 (good) and that of experiment group is 3,83 (very good). The averages differences of the observed skills are supported by the data from statistical average comparison test–with the level of significance of α = 0,05–which shows that the differences are significant. From the statistical data, it can be concluded that the model of learning which employs LKS is potential to provide students real experiences of scientific processes in the future, namely observation process that is problem-solving oriented. The ability to do the process in various projects can improve students thinking, which later leads to better attitudes.

Abstract

Pendidikan 4.0 merupakan pendidikan yang bercirikan pemanfaatan teknologi digital dalam proses pembelajaran atau dikenal dengan sistem siber (cyber system). Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu 1) menganalisis pembelajaran STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) dalam meningkatkan kemampuan keterampilan kreatif mahasiswa pendidikan matematika, 2) mengetahui seberapa besar pembelajaran STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) mampu meningkatkan kemampuan keterampilan kreatif mahasiswa pendidikan matematika. Penelitian ini didesain sebagai penelitian pra eksperimen. Desain penelitian one case study. Kelompoknya satu dalam arti, subjek yang mengambil atau mengontrak 1 mata Kuliah. Dalam hal ini subjeknya berasal dari Prodi Pendidikan Matematika yang mengontrak Mata Kuliah Aljabar Matriks. Kelas A terdiri dari 35 orang dan Kelas B terdiri dari 26 orang. Kaitannya dengan teknologi dalam pembelajaran STEM, pembelajaran dilakukan dengan menggunakan ICT yaitu program maple. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis data pretest, postest, dan N-Gain. Masing-masing di analisis statistika deskriptinya, kemudian di analisis statistika inferensialnya untuk melihat signifikansi kategori peningkatan masing-masing kelas. Pembelajaran STEM secara deskriptif mampu peningkatan kemampuan kreatif dengan kategori sedang di Kelas A dan kategori tinggi di Kelas B, meskipun tidak meningkat secara signifikan. Tidak terdapat perbedaan peningkatan yang signifikan kemampuan kreatif antara kelas A dan B, karena mempunyai nilai rata-rata peningkatan yang hampir sama.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan pengabdian pada masyarakat tentang pembimbingan guru SD melaksanakan program Bandung Green School sebagai upaya penghijauan sekolah yang ada di kota Bandung. Tujuan dari PKM ini yaitu ingin bekerjasama dengan para guru Sekolah Dasar di salah satu SD yang berada di tengah kota. Masalah yang dihadapi oleh para guru adalah belum mempunyai pengetahuan mengelola lingkungan yang sehat, bersih dan nyaman sedangkan program walikota saat itu menginginkan setiap sekolah yang ada di kota Bandung menyelengarakan Bandung Green School. Tujuan penelitian adalah apakah model pembelajaran STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) dapat membuat guru memahami cara mengelola lingkungan sekolah. Pengambilan sampel penelitian dilakukan di SD Cihampelas 3 dan 5. Guru yang terlibat sebanyak 43 orang sedangkan yang menjadi subjek penelitian hanya guru yang mengajar di kelas 4 dan 5 yaitu 16 orang. Metode pengambilan data dilakukan melalui metode survey dengan instrumen pre dan post test serta kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran model STEM dapat memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap kemampuan guru dalam mengelola lingkungan sekolah. STEM merupakan salah satu model pembelajaran yang efektif dapat digunakan oleh guru untuk mempersiapkan anak membangun karakter yang kompetitif secara global dan dipersiapkan untuk kesempatan karir di bidang teknis dan kreatif di masa depan.

Abstract

River water quality modeling needs appropriate and suitable coefficients especially in application for specific river like urban river. Aim: This study aims to determine the value of the coefficient with a short term duration and a variable test time span.  Several ways and methods of determining the rate of deoxygenation are developed according to the characteristics of the river and the environment. Modification method was applied in this research in which the test time span was unequal. The river chosen in this study is the Citepus River, Bandung, Indonesia representing an urban river in a tropical country. Methodology and Results: Sampling was carried out in the dry season. The laboratory analysis method used in determining the rate of deoxygenation uses the Slope Method of data from the short term incubation, which is ten days. The results showed that the Thomas Slope method's deoxygenation rate (K1) was 0.095 per day in the upstream segment, 0.917 per day in the middle segment, and 0.180 per day in the downstream segment. While the Ultimate BOD (La) value is 46.95 mg/l in the upstream segment, 38.70 mg/l in the middle segment, and 37.60 mg/l in the downstream segment. Conclusion, significance, and impact of study: The results of this study show that the value of the deoxygenation rate is similar to the theoretical surface water conditions. However, in the upstream segment, there is still a low deoxygenation rate value due to non-optimal activity of microorganisms. This findings will be very useful both in water quality modeling and river management.
